It was an exceptionally busy day at the prestigious school of Ouran Academy. It was the morning before the forty-third Ouran Fair and everyone was preparing for the opening ceremony. There were men present at the academy wearing olive-green employed attires who were transferring furniture around outside of the school and they were even undergoing construction. The working men were given the assistance and instructions from the students who attended Ouran Academy.
"Oh, and those go in the central building's main salon, okay?" Kaoru directed one of the men wearing the olive-green uniforms, who was holding a sizable cardboard box filled with items inside.
"Alright." The man complied with a small nod of his head, a smile on his lips as he advanced his way towards the direction Kaoru has shared with him.
"Hey, be careful with that." The youngest Hitachiin brother called out to another hired male once he turned his gaze towards him.
"Uhh. Aren't school fairs meant, to be, I don't know, more about students proudly showcasing unique things they've made by hand?" Haruhi questioned with slouched shoulders, standing beside Y/n, who was standing next to Kyoya.
The raven haired male was currently writing notes down in his small, brown, leather journal. "Perhaps for a mere average school, yes." Kyoya remarked, closing his notebook and fastening the button-clip to keep it secured. "But at Ouran, the emphasis is on planning and leadership skills. Keep in mind, most of our students are being groomed into positions of leadership, so they're required to showcase a talent for upward mobility not arts-and-crafts."
Y/n hums in a thoughtful and comprehensive manner while Haruhi released a small sound of understanding.
Suddenly, the sound of a horse neighing along with something heavy rolling on the stoned ground caught both Y/n and Haruhi's attention, making them glance over to the right. They immediately caught sight of Hikaru and Mori sitting on the coach area of a carriage while Tamaki and Honey sat in the carriage.
"Whoa, whoa." Hikaru let out with a small smile as he controlled the reins that were attached to the two horses.
"Nicely done. You handle the reins like a pro." Mori endorsed with a faint, yet proud, smile.
"Haru-Chan! Y/n-Chan!" Honey greeted cheerfully, using one of Usa-Chan's short arms to wave at them.
"Climb on board." Tamaki summoned, holding out his hand before excitedly moving his hands above his head, Honey reciprocating the blond haired males actions but with one hand since his other one was occupied with his stuffed bunny. "We're rehearsing for the big Ouran Fair parade."
The Fujioka siblings sweat dropped, more so Haruhi than Y/n, as they looked at the horse-drawn carriage.
'They really went all out for this fair, huh?' Y/n mentally pointed out.

"Oh wow, it's right out of a fairytale!"
"How romantic!" Two female students awed, both of their hands clasped with one another's.
"Can we have a ride too?"
Female students who attended Ouran Academy were standing on either side of the courtyard, savoring the sight of the Host Club members on a carriage. Hikaru and Mori were positioned on the coach section, directing the horses by using the reins, while Kaoru, Honey, and Y/n sat across from Haruhi, Kyoya, and Tamaki. The wavy haired female was sitting in between Honey and Kaoru while Haruhi sat in between Kyoya and Tamaki.
"Hey, you know, you've gotten pretty good at this." Kaoru commented, slightly turning his head over his shoulder to glance back at his twin brother.

"There's nothing to it, you should've practiced with me earlier." Hikaru advised, glancing back at Kaoru while not ceasing his hold on the reins that were connected to one of the horses.
"Well, just because we're twins doesn't make both of us good drivers." Kaoru casually joked.
"It's kinda neat having us all together like this for a carriage ride, huh?" Honey asked with a closed eyed smile on his face as Kaoru turned himself back around.
"To be honest, yeah. It kind of is." Y/n displayed a small, gentle smile, looking at the short third year student.
"Yeah, whatever." Haruhi mumbled, sitting with her shoulders slouched.
"Oh c'mon, Haruhi. Cheer up." Y/n attempted to heartened her fraternal twin sister, but the short haired girl just released a meager and indolent hum.
"Oh, and for the actual parade tomorrow we'll all be in eighteenth century French costumes." Tamaki notified collectively, making Haruhi tilt her head up so she could stare at the blond haired male. "Your outfit will be especially opulent, Haruhi. Yours too, Y/n."
"Oh, wonderful." Haruhi muttered sarcastically, turning her head forward.
The clock tower's bell suddenly chimed, making Tamaki's smile expand a little more. "Ah. The fair's opening ceremony has started." He imparted, directing his gaze down at Haruhi before glancing at Y/n. "Let's make this fair, the best one yet."
Y/n smiled and looked over at Haruhi, who stared back at her, a tug on the corners of her lips finally occurring. The two siblings looked back at Tamaki, their smiles still evident on their lips. "Sounds good to me." They both concurred.

In the courtyard of the esteemed academy were individuals dancing to music that was being played by an orchestra, rose petals were gracefully descending from the blue colored sky--everything was just absolutely beautiful.
Kanako Kasugazaki was present dancing with her fiancé Toru Suzushima. The class president of class 1-A, Kazukiyo Soga, had a faint blush on his cheeks as he avoided eye contact with the female he was dancing with, who was class 1-A's co-representative Momoka Kurakano. Ritsu Kasanoda even made an appearance in the opening ceremony, currently being surrounded by a group of girls who were admiring and complimenting him, making the tough-looking male rub the back of his head nervously with a light crimson blush on his cheeks.
Inside of the grand and luxurious central salon building was the Host Club, who were officially open for the general public.
The Host Club members were wearing matching serving uniforms with beige colored vests and thin, red bowties. Meanwhile, Y/n wore the identical apparel but she accompanied the top part of her outfit with a black skirt instead of black dress pants.
Y/n reflected the terms that Tamaki spoke before they entered the central building salon.
The eight individuals who were a part of the Host Club were presently in music room three, concluding their appearances for the opening ceremony.
Tamaki stood in front of his companions, a small smile on his lips as he held up his index finger. "Now remember, as part of the fair, the Host Club will be open to parents and visitors for the next two days, which means we will need to be even more charming than usual. Let's get out there and show our honored guests the time of their lives."
The Fujioka sisters were walking side by side, Haruhi was rolling a trolley with a tray of various desserts at the top and at the bottom was a teapot and teacups.

As the two girls strolled around the large room, they overheard conversations as they passed by the visitors in the central building salon.
"Isn't it just wonderful, mother? This is the Host Club I've been telling you so much about. What do you think?" A young woman with coffee-brown, wavy hair questioned, wearing a strapless, light auburn-red colored dress and a long, thin, pinkish-white scarf.
"Well actually. I cannot say I approve of this." A stern-looking woman began. "I think that these young men just enjoy being fawned over."
Suddenly, Tamaki slid up beside the woman with a hand on his chest as he showed a small bow, making the older woman slightly jolt at the unexpected appearance of the blond haired male. A light shade of pink appeared on her cheeks as her hand hovered over her mouth. "You are quite right, madam. We are such shameless, selfish creatures." Tamaki gently took a hold of the older woman's hand. "All of this is mere pretense for spending time with lovely young ladies such as yourself. It is a weakness. Forgive me."
The woman's eyes practically turned into hearts as she stared at Tamaki. "Oh!" She breathed out, moving her hands to her cheeks as she moved her feet in place. "What an enchanting club!"
"I told you!" The woman's daughter validated, duplicating her mother's actions.
"You're too kind, both of you." Tamaki indicated and showed the two females a small bow.
"Good grief." Haruhi deadpanned to herself, moderately sweat dropping.
"Here, your buttons are mismatched. Allow me." Mori rendered, crouching down in front of Honey to adjust the buttons on his vest.
A grateful, closed eyed smile established on Honey's face as he granted the tall, dark haired male to alter his piece of clothing. "Thank you very much."
"How adorable." A woman with chin length, shadow-grey hair awed at the two cousins, settled at a circular table with another adult female.
"They must be brothers." The woman sitting across from the shadow-grey colored haired female observed. "The older one is so thoughtful."
"Nope." Y/n denied to Haruhi, only making the short haired girl hear her voice.
"But you see, our mother and father...were both so busy... That they had no time for the two of us." Hikaru simplified subtly, glancing down at the floor with a false expression of disenchantment.
Unusually, the twins styled their auburn colored hair differently today--it was combed to make it look well groomed and leveled.
"We played by ourselves." Kaoru further stated, corresponding his brother's facial definition. "Which is the reason we're so lonely now."
"Oh, you poor things!" The two females, who happened to be mother and daughter, sobbed into their handkerchief, situated on a couch across from the Hitachiin twins.
The Fujioka sisters sweat dropped as they perceived the discussion that transpired between the four individuals who were stationed on the two separate red couches.
"You have got to be kidding me." Haruhi muttered.
"Is this their way of winning the parent's over?" Y/n quizzed quietly.
"One of our daily goals here at the Host Club is to evoke different time periods." Kyoya enlightened with a small, polite smile on his lips as he spoke to an older man that appeared to have dark colored hair and a mustache. "So we make it a point to thoroughly research a wide variety of historical traditions in the interest of maintaining authenticity."
"That's quite impressive." The man said, genuinely astonished by the brownish-grey eyed male's details.
"Yeah, quite impressively political." Haruhi pointed out in a blunt tone, making Y/n nod her head in slight agreement as she and Haruhi walked passed Kyoya and the group of people that stood near him.
- - - -
"This is a bit too much even by our standards." Haruhi began, enabling her eyes to roam around the room. "You could buy a small country with all the money we're wasting."
The two sisters were situated beside a circular table that exhibited Kyoya typing into his pineapple laptop, a large fountain being viewable behind the three high schoolers.
"You do have a point." Y/n agreed.
All at once, Tamaki slid up behind the two girls and placed his hand on Haruhi's shoulder while his unoccupied one was moderately directed upwards. "What nonsense!" He dismissed with a closed eyed grin on his face and motioned his index finger side to side. "That's not the Host Club way at all and you two know it!" Tamaki instantly displayed a friendly thumbs up. "Happiness is above any price tag! Besides, think of all the exposure! We'll-ahh!" He released a high pitched gasp once Haruhi pinched his hand that was resting on her shoulder, a pout appearing on his face as he observed the red spot on his right hand.
"No, Haruhi's right, you have overshot the budget." Kyoya confirmed, his eyes lingering on the screen of his laptop as he guided his fingers to different keys of the keyboard.
A miniature frown materialized on Tamaki's lips as he turned his violet colored eyes to the dark haired second year. "Kyoya..."
The said male discontinued the movements of his fingers and closed his laptop. "The use of this salon notwithstanding, you had a period-style carriage shipped all the way in from France." Kyoya rotated his position to the side as he stared at the blond haired male. "Must you always be so capricious?" He adjusted the glasses that rested on his face and placed his elbow on the table, positioning his left cheek against the knuckles of his hand. "Your impulsiveness overwhelms my accounting skills."
"Typical." Haruhi remarked indifferently as she and Y/n walked away.
"Later." Y/n discharged while showing an insignificant wave of her hand, keeping her attention ahead of her.
"Whatever!" Tamaki hollered out to the two females and began to flail his arms around. "Capricious is just another word for creative! I'll have you know that the whims of the Host Club King are the stuff of dreams, no price is too high!"
As Tamaki continued on with his childish rant, Haruhi and Y/n detected a young woman sitting at a table solitarily. She is a slender, pale skinned young woman with long chestnut-brown hair that is swept to the right side and vibrant blue eyes. The unnamed female was carrying a pair of opera glasses with purple lenses that she currently removed from her face.
The two sisters showed one another a small nod of their head and approached the chestnut-brown haired female with a polite smile on their lips. "Welcome." Y/n greeted kindly once she and Haruhi reached the table.
"Can we get anything for you?" Haruhi proposed. "Maybe something sweet?"
The girl just looked at them with an uninterested expression, her eyes faintly narrowing as she inspected the two siblings. "You're with the Host Club?" She interrogated, her tone of voice being sophisticated and posh.
"Yes." Haruhi answered with a closed eyed smile as Y/n nodded her head with the identical facial expression her sister showed.
"Father!" A somewhat surprised voice called out, catching the attention of the three females as they looked over to where the commotion commenced. Tamaki was standing in front of an older male who was wearing a white suit, his hair being light brown while his eyes were brown. The man had a woman perched next to him, who seemed to be an assistant of some sort.
"Do not refer to me as father. The term is far too familiar." The light brown haired man established with slight sternness in his tone, one of his hands behind his back. "You will address me properly as Chairman." He standardized, making Tamaki's eyebrows furrow.
Kyoya pursued towards the male who is recognized as the Chairman and Tamaki's father. "Ah very good. Welcome sir. Please, let me show you to your seat." Kyoya volunteered with a cultivated, closed eyed smile.
"Thank you." The Chairman, Yuzuru Suoh, expressed in a refined manner.
Y/n and Haruhi witnessed the moment transpire from where they were standing, oblivious of the certain newcomer studying them through her opera binoculars until the two sisters sensed the observant stare.
The fraternal twins hastily turned their heads around to look at the chestnut-brown haired female, but noticed her looking straight ahead with her hands on her lap and with a mature and indifferent sentiment.
Kyoya escorted Yuzuru to a red couch that had a small coffee table settled in front of it with another couch across from where the Chairman was sitting--his assistant stood beside the couch of where he was situated. Meanwhile, Tamaki was suspended from a chandelier, keeping surveillance on his father and his brownish-grey eyed companion.
"Kyoya, my boy, if not for your being here I'm sure this club would be a shambles." Yuzuru began with one of his legs crossed over his other knee while his assistant caught sight of the eavesdropping blond haired male. "My son must give you no end of trouble."
The raven haired second year student placed a hand on his chest as he showed the Chairman a small bow. "Oh, on the contrary, sir. Your son's vision is what keeps us viable." He admitted, arranging his hand back down to his side. "May I bring you anything?"
Yuzuru beckoned Kyoya to shift closer to him by using his index finger. The second year student neared the man so he could attend to what the man's upcoming request is. As the Chairman whispered in Kyoya's ear, the high schooler released hums and words of understanding.
"Yes. Of course." Kyoya complied and straightened his posture. "Haruhi, Y/n, you're both needed." He informed, turning around to glance at where the two said females were, which was not a far distance.
"What?!" Tamaki exclaimed due to his father's unforeseen request, plummeting down from the chandelier which caused the Chairman's assistant to sweat drop and for other individuals to immediately turn their attention to him.
"Oh...?" Haruhi and Y/n let out, once again feeling like they were being watched from the female who sat at the circular table. They turned around to look at the chestnut-brown haired girl but she was looking ahead of her, making the two sisters sweat drop at the young woman's behavior.
'She's...odd.' Y/n thought as she stared at the perplexing girl. 'And she's emitting a weird energy... Or maybe I'm overthinking it?'
Y/n forced her thoughts to the back of her mind, deciding to contemplate about them after some time. At the moment, she had to meet the Chairman of Ouran Academy, who also happened to be Tamaki Suoh's father.
Tamaki hid behind a statue that was attached to the fountain so he could listen in on his father's conversation with the Fujioka siblings.
"So you're Haruhi and Y/n Fujioka." The man addressed as the two females completed their way towards him. He exhibited a kindhearted, closed eyed smile at the two individuals. "Come, sit with me."
"Alright, thank you sir." Haruhi acknowledged respectfully as she settled down on the right side of the couch.
"Yes, thank you." Y/n repeated as she seated herself on the left side of the settee, making the man sit in between the two girls. "It's nice to finally meet you Chairman. I wish Haruhi and I paid our respects to you sooner. We apologize."
"You know, 'Chairman' is so dry. Why don't you call me, yes." He trailed off in conclusion, two red roses appearing in either hand of his. "Call me your uncle." He recommended with a small, charming grin on his lips. "It would please me."

Pawns of God
Five Lines PitchJoin Mark in his fight against a God and change the game's destiny! Delve into a slow-paced story focused on the progression of the main party and the development of the world. Mark himself will be narrating his life inside the game, and to a much lesser extend outside. Guild building, economy, and strategy are the central pieces of the novel. Mark is not overpowered, he will have to build his own power through action-packed battles, trials, traumas, love, and death. Accompany him, the healer and the strategist, an agent of chaos, in the adventure of his life. Without further preamble, I will let Mark take the mic. SynopsisHi! My name is Mark. This is my story, my life as I live it day after day. I’m in my thirties, and there’s nothing I love more than playing online games. I’ve just joined the action on the newest VRMMO game, Pawns of God. An immersive experience you can play while sleeping. Of course, as a game that takes pride in its long development and technological advances, everything inside seems and feels real. Beware, this is not a game-turns-real story. I love my own world and I would detest being summoned into another one. If that ever happens, I’ll just quickly take my life and be done with it. I play with my friends, in a party of 5. We have taken several roles, but lately, I've come to love being a healer. It's my secret ambition to someday be the shotcaller. I am not overpowered. If there is any bug or exploit in the game, they are yet to be discovered. Anyhow, for a game of this scale, the company is pouring all of its resources into test servers, QA, and beta tests. I don’t expect to find any, so I’ll be playing the game just like any other person. I must say, though, I am easily distracted, as you will immediately notice once you start. I'm working on it, I promise to improve! I am no hero. Being in my 30s, my heart is too old for this shit. I wouldn’t mind being one, of course. Who hasn’t dreamt of it? Either way, I’m not doing any grand quest to save the world. Whatever the game throws to their users, I’ll be there to experience it. Most of my life, at least the interesting parts that I’ll be narrating, happen inside the game itself. Rarely, there will be some IRL (In Real Life) chapters. You’ll understand, however, that as a freelance software developer, there is not much I can entertain you with when outside the game. Did I say I love games? Well, I’m also a fan of LitRPG literature. You know, journeys of magic, relationships, personal development, items, skills, discovery… In the spirit of not overwhelming my public, I’ll condense each chapter into circa 1500 words. You might have noticed some tags over this story, let me elaborate. I like to swear. I’m not shy when it comes to cursing my enemies, friends, or even myself. When there’s blood, I tell it as I see it. And… it hurts to admit it, but I’m not a casanova. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever find love. So, in case I do end up finding it, let’s keep my sexual options open. As for traumas, none yet, but the future is vast and unknown. Release Schedule The schedule is subject to change, particularly if enough readers end up loving it. All chapters are already written, thus there is enough freedom to modify them. Arc 1 * Chapters 1-14: Each released one day and an hour later than the previous. Starting with chapter 2 at 09:20 UTC+2 on day 1, and finishing at 21:20 UTC+2 on day 13.
