"Huh? Kyoya's sick?" Tamaki repeated with a raised eyebrow, his violet eyes holding a look of moderate disbelief.
Currently, the Host Club members, with the reduction of Kyoya, stood in front of the Ootori family's mansion. The front door of the manor was remaining open by one of the many maids the Ootori family has employed.
The middle aged woman nodded her head respectfully. "Yes, Master Tamaki. Unfortunately, Master Kyoya has symptoms of a common cold. It seems like he was working too hard and wasn't taking enough care of himself."
The seven teenagers held an expression of shock--even Y/n and Haruhi were a bit surprised to hear that Kyoya has fallen victim to a fever. His family organizes multiple hospitals and medical clinics around Japan; possibly in other countries as well--but Kyoya is only human.
The Host Club was making an appearance to the Ootori manor so they could collect Kyoya and visit the supermarket once more, but their plans quickly evaporated once they received the information from the maid.
"Is Kyo-Chan going to be okay?" Honey inquired with concern laced in his tone, tightening his grasp on his stuffed bunny Usa-Chan.
"Fortunately, Master Kyoya will recover in a couple of days if he continues to take his medication." The maid assured.
"Can we see him, please?" Tamaki requested with slight panic evident in his tone.
Instead of waiting for the maid's response, Tamaki and the rest of the hosts dashed through the entrance and up the stairs, the Hitachiin twins hauling the Fujioka siblings after them.
'Geez, we can walk, you know.' The two sisters thought as they continued to be dragged towards Kyoya's bedroom by the auburn haired twins.
Once they stopped in front of a pair of white doors, Tamaki swiftly thrusted his foot against the doors, making them slam open and reveal the first level of the raven haired males bedroom--which consisted of two white couches on top of a aegean-blue rug, a flatscreen television propped on a white surface as well as a small, circular, white coffee table in front of the two couches.
"Kyoya! Don't worry, we're here!" Tamaki announced, running towards the stairs that led to where Kyoya was currently resting. "Everything is going to be all right!"
The seven members of the Host Club instantly caught sight of Kyoya laying on a king sized mattress, underneath the light grey bedcovers, the bed being positioned beside the glass railing. On the right side of him was a white nightstand that exhibited a lamp and his glasses. The only view they had of the raven haired male was the back of his head.
Slowly, Kyoya vaguely turned his head so he could be able to emit a glare towards his invaders, making the group of individuals flinch and receive a shiver down their spines.

"What are you idiots doing here?" Kyoya's rough-sounding, tired voice resonated through the strained atmosphere.
"We heard you came down with a fever so we're here to check up on you." Hikaru answered warily.
"We were stopping by to pick you up to go to the commoner's supermarket with us, but it looks like you can't go since you're sick." Kaoru further stated and scratched the back of his neck.
"Well since you all have observed my state of health," Kyoya began in a gruff tone, "leave."
The group of high schoolers once again recoiled at the sound of his voice and his disgruntled demeanor.
"We probably should've waited 'till Kyo-Chan woke up." Honey mumbled, making the twins, Mori, Y/n, and Haruhi nod in agreement.
"Let's just leave Kyoya-Senpai alone and let him rest. Remember that the reason he got like this is because he overworked himself." Haruhi denoted, making her way towards the staircase as Y/n hummed in endorsement and followed after her sister.
Tamaki expeditiously ceased the sister's movements by grabbing a hold of either of their arms, tugging them away from the staircase. "No, we can't just leave him here. We have to do something to help him." He protested, placing his thumb and index finger on his chin in a thoughtful manner as his other hand went to his hip. "But what can we do?"
"It's just a common cold, Tamaki-Senpai." Y/n began, releasing an inaudible sigh. "You heard what the woman at the door said; Kyoya-Senpai will be better in a few days."
"You had a common cold once too Y/n, but it took you a week to get better." The twins reminded in unison.
"Exactly. It was only a couple of days." The wavy, brown haired female pointed out. "That's usually how long it takes to get over a fever."
Tamaki disregard Y/n's statement as he snapped his fingers, gaining everyone's attention. "I know! How about we take care of Kyoya for the whole day?"
"I want to help take care of Kyo-Chan! Like how a doctor treats their patient!" Honey giggled childishly.
The twins shrugged at the blond haired male's idea. "Okay."
Mori hummed in acknowledgment while Y/n and Haruhi shared a glance with one another.
"Great! Now gentlemen-"
"No." Kyoya interrupted Tamaki's sentence, refusing the aid of his companions.
"Eh? Why not, Kyoya?" The blond haired male questioned.
"Because I'm not in the disposition of dealing with your obnoxious antics while I'm unwell, Tamaki." Kyoya sighed, lifting his upper body by using his elbows. His words made Tamaki appear in a corner with his knees pressed against his chest. "Furthermore, I have a personal doctor that is fully capable of administering to my every needs." He finalized, plunking back down on his mattress, his eyes drawing to a close.

"Then where are they?" Y/n muttered quietly, glancing to the side. Much to her awareness, there wasn't a doctor in sight.
Surprisingly, Kyoya heard her remark and opened his eyes once again. "They left right before you all arrived."
Tamaki departed from the corner he was previously crouched down in front of, now standing near the right side of Kyoya's bed. "Kyoya, we are going to stay and help you get better." He proclaimed with his index finger in the air.
Kyoya sighed once again, undoubtedly tired of how persistent Tamaki was being, so he just continued to lay on his bed with his eyes closed, eventually falling asleep after a minute.
Tamaki smiled in success, directing his attention towards the six individuals in the room. "Alright, everyone. It's time for Operation: Help Kyoya Get Better!"
"Yes, sir!" Honey and the twins saluted.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, Honey-Senpai, and Mori-Senpai." The blond haired male pointed his finger at the four said high schoolers. "You four will go out to the commoner's supermarket and purchase anything a sick person needs."
The twins, Honey, and Mori nodded and quickly made their way down the stairs of Kyoya's room, exiting the territory and soon departing from the mansion to begin their task.
Tamaki guided his finger to the short haired female, who was still present in the room. "Haruhi, you will go to the kitchen and assist the chefs with a chicken-noddle soup recipe."
Haruhi slouched her shoulders as a deadpanned expression materialized on her face. "Why do I have to help in the kitchen? Don't they know how to cook soup?" She complained discreetly, but still walked down the stairs and exited the bedroom.
Tamaki moved his finger to the last person who was standing in the room. "Y/n, you will stay here and watch over Kyoya while I go downstairs and help Haruhi."
A blank expression came across Y/n's face. "Eh?"
Tamaki had a heavenly definition on his facial features as he daydreamed about being in a kitchen with Haruhi. He briskly shook his head and rushed down the stairs. "Make sure to watch over him, Y/n!" He called out before leaving the room, the doors coming to a close.
'Why am I stuck with watching after Kyoya-Senpai?' Y/n deliberated, faint drops of sweat forming on her cheek as she caught a glimpse of the sick male.
As Y/n continued to survey her upperclassmen, she came to notice the prominent eye bags that were positioned under his eyes, his disheveled raven colored hair, his slightly red, feverish cheeks, and his soft breathing pattern.
He appeared to be rather tranquil while slumbering. His body language and facial expression didn't display a false sentiment--he just looked relaxed.
Y/n's lips formed into a small frown. 'Why can't he just take a break from all the work he does?' She wondered.
She exhaled soundlessly and scratched the back of her head. She seemed like she minded the fact that Tamaki entrusted her with surveilling Kyoya. But in all honesty, she didn't have an issue with it.
She has watched over Haruhi and her father whenever they've fallen unwell--her watching over Kyoya is just like those moments of her observing and taking care of her two family members.
Even though Y/n saw it that way, she couldn't control her increasing heartbeat when seeing Kyoya's peaceful demeanor, nor could she ignore the feeling of her weakened knees.
'God, I feel like a creep just looking at him while he's sleeping.' Y/n thought, rolling her eyes as she adverted her gaze from the resting boy.
After a minute, she looked back at Kyoya and distinguished the small amount of sweat that was assembling on his forehead.
'Who knew overworking yourself could lead to a fever.' Y/n mentally commented, prudently approaching the right side of the bed, hesitantly lifting her right hand.
She bent her knees insignificantly, making her body lower a bit. She slowly moved her right hand to Kyoya's head as her left hand settled on her knee. The last thing she would want to do is wake him up, but she needed to feel how high his temperature went to decide if he needed a cold rag or not. The palm of her hand was facing downwards as she began to lower it so it could gently land on Kyoya's forehead.
Before her hand could even touch the warm skin of his forehead, a lanky, masculine hand grabbed her wrist, discontinuing her movements. A pair of brownish-grey eyes opened and met the brown orbs of the female. Y/n soon felt a tug on her wrist as she was pulled onto the bed, being switched over so her back was against the comfortable mattress.
A pair of sizable hands held down her own small ones beside her head that was lounging on a pillow. The figure that hovered above Y/n's body was holding themselves up with their knees and hands so they wouldn't put their weight on the girl underneath them.
"Y/n..."

The Demon of Shadows (Hiatus)
Spartans. Genetically modified supersoldiers who participated in the spartan program, which aimed to reinforce and compensate for the humans capability of emotion in order to create the ideal supersoldier. The program itself resulting in the implantation of a limiter for a certain individual, which acted in limiting that persons emotions. Replacing it with a cold logical based calculative mindscape. The limiter aimed to support the ideal supersoldier in completing the objectives assigned to them. Be it mass slaughter, or assasination. One such man who had volunteered to participate in the program to provide data in return for a large sum of money to save a precious friend, has his life lost in battle after years of service and mindless violence. Death, however, was something he usually gave, not to receive. So when death comes to take his life, he awaits in silence, only to be dumbfounded at what is to happen next. This is the story of Nicholas Gray, the Shadow Demon. Note: Story is based on other LitRPGs found on the site such as Dante's Immortality, Necromancer and Co, etc. and on Halo for the majority of the first chapter and possibly later on down the road, I only borrowed things such as the armour and weapons used in the game itself and all credit goes to them for that kind of stuff. I will also perhaps use it to explain his backstroy to further character progression if I can. The cover photo was also a picture I found on the internet and if you wish for credit or for me to take it down just say so and i'll do it as fast as possible. I also don't have a set schedule, and this is just being used to improve my grammar and just as a hobby, nothing more. I will also appreciate feedback in regards to grammar, style, and story in general as this is the first time I have created a story apart from at school, hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!
8 208Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
