Y/n and Haruhi walked through the corridors of Ouran Academy, making their way to their classroom due to it being a Tuesday morning.
Once the two siblings entered class 1-A, they approached their desks and encountered two auburn haired identical brothers.
"Good morning Y/n and Haruhi!" The Hitachiin twins greeted with a grin, holding up either of their hands in a motionless wave as they stood near their desks.
"Good morning, guys." Haruhi acknowledged their presence as she sat down on the chair at her desk.
"Yeah, morning." Y/n replicated as she sat down on the chair at her desk, but once she said her greeting her throat endured irritation and scorched in sensitivity. She has been undergoing this sore throat ever since she woke up that morning.
She cleared her throat covertly, endeavoring to avoid gaining the attention of others. 'I hope I'm not getting sick...' She prospected as she slumped her shoulders, experiencing her energy being extracted from her body.
"Hey Y/n, are you alright?" Hikaru examined while leaning against Haruhi's desk, facing the wavy haired teenager.
"Yeah." Y/n replied, turning her gaze to the first born child of the Hitachiin family. "Why?"
"Well, your voice sounds kind of hoarse and dry." Kaoru pointed out, moving to stand beside his brother with his hands in his pockets. "Have you drank any water today yet?"
Y/n parted her lips, about to respond to his question, but was interrupted by their teacher walking into the classroom.
"Good morning everyone, please take your seats and take out your notebooks." The educator began with a small smile, proceeding towards the front of the class. "And let's get started."
- - - -
As the day went on, Y/n felt herself become worse as time progressed. The school day eventually ended, the Host Club member's existence being present in music room three, discussing upcoming themes for the club.
Instead of the sky's blue animation, it was now a sunset orange-yellow shade. The hosts sat at a table that had a white tablecloth over the wooden surface, a cup of tea in front of each member--Y/n was situated in between Haruhi and Honey.
"Oh, I know! We should do a royalty theme!" Tamaki suggested with a glittering smile as he raised his index finger upwards.
"Yes, but what would the choice of clothing be?" Kyoya inquired, the pads of his fingers pressing down onto the keyboard to his laptop.
"Clothes of royalty, of course." Tamaki answered in an obvious tone. "I will be the king and Haruhi will be my queen." He clasped his hands together in a heavenly manner, fawning over the image of Haruhi in a queen's attire in his mind.
Tamaki's daydream was cut short as Haruhi shared her reason. "Uh, sorry Tamaki-Senpai, but I don't think it's a good idea for me to wear a gown if you guys want to keep my real gender a secret."
"She's right, boss." Hikaru agreed, but then a small smirk appeared on his face as an idea organized in his head. "But maybe Y/n can wear it instead."
Kaoru hummed mischievously. "Good idea, Hikaru." He turned his amber colored eyes to the girl with shoulder length, brown hair. "So, what do you say, Y/n? Are you in-"
All of a sudden, Y/n quickly brought the crook of her elbow up to her nose and mouth, releasing the abrupt sneeze that she was holding in. "Excuse me." She sniffled, prohibiting the mucus to run down her nostrils.

"Bless you." Haruhi said, glancing at her sister with a moderate look of concern.
"T-Thanks-" Y/n interrupted herself and sneezed once again, the crook of her elbow shielding everything from the bacteria that escaped her mouth and nose.
"Are you okay, Y/n-Chan?" Honey asked, looking at her with slightly worried eyes, his stuffed bunny, Usa-Chan, resting on his lap.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." Y/n displayed a fragile smile, but then swiftly enclosed her mouth and coughed.
"Are you sure? You don't look or sound too great, Y/n." Haruhi testified, leaning herself forward to get a closer analysis of her sister, who was seated next to her.
"Oh no." Tamaki mumbled in alarm. "D-Don't tell me...," he wavered, his eyes widening to an extent, "that you're sick..."
"I'm fine. Really." Y/n held up her hand reassuringly, her body going against her words as she felt herself being engulfed in flames.
She suddenly sensed her chair being carefully pulled away from the table as a cool, masculine hand gently positioned itself on her forehead. The refreshing palm of the individual's hand made Y/n unleash a quiet, reposing sigh and her eyes to close as the burning sensation on her forehead faintly reduced.
"She's burning up..." The monotone voice of Mori informed the others of Y/n's condition, standing behind the said girl. "She has a fever."
Tamaki and the twins' eyes vaguely widened at the report.
"No, no, no. That can't be." The blond haired male placed both of his hands on either side of his head as he got up from his chair and began to pace back and forth. He placed his thumb and index finger on his chin as he began to think out loud. "How did this even happen?" Tamaki stopped his movements and directed his attention to the auburn haired twins, his gaze hardening to a stern glare. "It's because of you two..."
Hikaru and Kaoru sweat dropped, thinking back to the incident that took place yesterday.
Y/n was walking hurriedly to music room three, coming back from the library. She and Haruhi decided to study in the book center before club activities, but when the bell rang Y/n granted her sister to go on ahead of her so she could put the books back to where they belonged.
Once she made it to the familiar pair of doors, she noticed that one of them were cracked open--the gap of the door being wide enough to slip a hand through it. Y/n didn't think anything of it as she shrugged her shoulders and thought that somebody didn't close the door correctly.
She smoothly pushed open the door, but once she did that she immediately felt a rush of cold water splash on her from above, making her gasp at the freezing liquid that landed on her--the vent of air conditioning that was installed above where she was standing made her feel even colder.
Y/n's brown hair was dripping with water and her uniform was far from being dry. She looked up at the sound of laughter emitting from two high schoolers, soon glaring at who it was coming from. "You idiots...!"
The Hitachiin twins ceased their hysterics once they identified the voice of the female, their eyes instantly widening. "Y-Y/n?!"
"That was supposed to be for Tamaki-Senpai! Not for you!" Kaoru apprised in mild panic.
Hikaru and Kaoru approached the marginally shivering Y/n, both apologizing profusely as Haruhi exited the small kitchen to see what the commotion was all about.

Her orbs promptly settled on Y/n's drenched figure. Her brown eyes enlarged as she dashed towards her sister, cautious of the puddle of water that was on the tiled floor along with a toppled blue bucket. "Y/n, what happened? Why are you all wet?"
"Ask them." Y/n pointed an accusing finger at the two twins, her unoccupied arm wrapping itself around her body.
"I told you it was a bad idea." Kyoya reminded with his arms crossed over his chest while speaking to the twins before looking at Y/n. "We'll prepare a towel and a spare change of clothes for you."
Either it was the annoyance she felt towards the twins, or the raven haired male's words and presence, her cheeks exhibited a faint tint of pink. "Thanks, Kyoya-Senpai."
Suddenly, a gasp sounded from the doorway, making everyone's attentiveness land on the newcomer.
"What happened?" The president of the Host Club demanded, catching sight of the wavy haired female's appearance. "And why is Y/n wet?"
"Hikaru and Kaoru wanted to trick you with a bucket of cold water that was on top of the door, but Y/n got here before you did so she ended up receiving Hikaru and Kaoru's antics." Haruhi explained, carefully guiding her sister away from the puddle of clear liquid.
Tamaki's facial expression indurated as he slowly turned his gaze to the Hitachiin brothers. He hastily advanced towards the two males and snatched them by the collar of their uniforms. "What were you idiots thinking?! Doing a stunt like that here! Now you got Y/n drenched in ice-cold water!"
"We're sorry, boss!" The twins exclaimed as the blond haired male continued to shake them by the collar of their uniforms.
Tamaki abruptly whacked the twins' heads with a tightly, rolled up magazine.
"Ow!" Hikaru and Kaoru released, bringing their hands to the top of their slightly aching head.
"This is all because of your stupid prank!" Tamaki scolded, infuriated at the twins' previous actions from the day before.
"We said that we were sorry!" The twins defended.
Tamaki furrowed his eyebrows as he argued with the auburn haired individuals. "But Y/n still got sick!"
Y/n sighed and sniffled, rubbing the temples of her forehead with her fingers, Mori's hand no longer on her forehead. "Can you guys shut up?"
Tamaki and the twins flinched at Y/n's croaky voice, their faces turned to one of apprehension once they glanced at her. She had an aggravated definition evident on her face as a glowering aura surrounded her, her brown eyes staring at the three high schoolers with a glare.
"I'm starting to get a headache and your bickering isn't really helping me. You don't have to scold them like that, Tamaki-Senpai." Her expression softened as she exhaled heavily once more. "It's just a little fever, it'll go away in a couple of days."
"Aw, poor Y/n-Chan." Honey mumbled dishearteningly and held Usa-Chan close to his chest.
"Maybe we should go home so I could give you some medicine." Haruhi proposed, placing a comforting hand behind Y/n's back.
Kyoya pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, staring at the two girls. "I agree. Haruhi, take Y/n home." He permitted, the lens of his spectacles reflecting the setting sun. "We will just have to manage her absence in the club till she recovers."
"Thank you, Kyoya-Senpai." Haruhi conveyed and got up from her chair, going to collect her and her sister's school bag.
"Yeah, thanks." Y/n repeated and covered her mouth before she could release a harsh cough, Haruhi walking back to her after gathering their belongings.
The two Fujioka sisters uttered their goodbyes to the six males and departed the music room.
"Poor Y/n-Chan..." Honey began, looking down at his stuffed bunny. "I hope she gets better soon."
- - - -
Once the two sisters arrived to their apartment, Haruhi instructed Y/n to take a shower and to change into pleasant clothing.
After Y/n's shower, Haruhi urged her to go to bed, which she complied with no disaccord. As the wavy haired female laid on her mattress, her bedcovers sheltering her body, Haruhi placed a refreshing, small, damp towel on the girl's forehead. The towel made Y/n let out an easing sigh once something cold made contact with her heated skin.
Haruhi was very responsible when either her sister or father were ill, making sure to take care of them if they couldn't--Y/n being the exact same way.
Haruhi cooked some chicken-noodle soup for her sister due to it being something light to ingest and it was warm. Y/n eventually fell asleep after she consumed her dinner, but before doing so she took her medicine.
- - - -
The next day transpired and Y/n wasn't feeling any better than the day before. She was coughing even more than yesterday and the temperature of her fever increased.
Haruhi stood in their bedroom doorway, being dressed in her school uniform with her school bag accompanying her. On the other hand, Y/n remained in bed with a damp, cool towel on her forehead, her shoulder length hair disheveled along with the rest of her appearance.
"Well, I'm going to school. Dad is here if you need anything, okay?" Haruhi summoned up, her brown eyes displaying a noticeable look of concern for her sister's current state.
Y/n nodded her head, using the small amount of energy she had for that gesture. "Okay. Have a great day, Haruhi. Please don't forget to collect the assignments I miss."
"I won't." The short haired female concluded. "See you later, Y/n." She took a step back, about to walk down the hallway and towards the front door.
"Oh, and Haruhi?" Y/n called out to her feebly, causing the said girl to look back at her sister. "Don't worry about me. It's not like I'm going to be home alone. Like you said, dad's here if I need anything."
A miniature smile formed on Haruhi's lips at her sister's reassurance. "I know. Bye, Y/n."
- - - -
It's been approximately an hour and thirty minutes since Haruhi left the apartment complex and journeyed to Ouran Academy and to say the least, Y/n was very tedious.
She could do nothing but lay in her bed, even if she wanted to get up, she would become lightheaded. At that moment, a knock sounded from the other side of her closed bedroom door.
Y/n forced herself to sit up as the door opened, revealing Ranka with a bowl of warm chicken-noodle soup.
"Hi sweetheart, I hope you're hungry. It's time to eat." Ranka vocalized devotedly, approaching his daughter, who removed the moist towel from her forehead.
"Sorry, but I'm not that hungry, dad." Y/n uttered, covering her mouth with the fist of her hand as she let out a strident cough.
"I know Y/n, but you have to eat something." He advised her while taking a seat on her bed, facing the wavy haired girl. He picked up the spoon that rested in the bowl, dishing out some of the warm, flavored liquid. "Now be careful. It's hot." He carefully trailed the spoon towards the brown haired females lips.
"Dad..." Y/n glanced down at the awaiting spoon of soup. "I can feed myself."
"Aw, please Y/n?" Ranka implored, a small pout materializing on his lips. "You and your sister are so independent that I never really get the chance to take care of you two. Please let me feed you this one time."
Y/n inspected her father for a second longer before letting out a sigh. "Alright, fine." She parted her lips and accepted the spoonful of broth, making Ranka widely smile.
- - - -
Five days have officially passed as Monday unfolded. The past five days have been of Y/n resting in bed, completing the assignments that her sister would bring her after school, and returning to health.
Due to the proper care her father and occasionally her sister would provide her with, Y/n's fever ultimately vanished. She would still cough and mucus would be apparent in her nostrils from time to time, but that didn't mean that she could disregard another day of education.
As Haruhi and Y/n walked through the hallway's of Ouran Academy with Hikaru and Kaoru traveling beside them, some students would welcome the wavy haired female's arrival back from her quarantine.
The four first years made their way to the doors of music room three, the twins' maneuver coming to a stop in front of the two sisters.
"How about we surprise the others with Y/n being back?" Hikaru questioned rhetorically, more so sounding like a suggestion. "They don't know that she's better now."
"Yeah, they'll all be so happy to see her. We've really missed you, especially the boss." Kaoru displayed a closed eyed grin at Y/n. "He wouldn't stop yelling at us about how our prank got you sick."
Y/n showed a small smile and shrugged her shoulders. "I really don't think it will make a difference if I just walk in there. There's no need for a big entrance for me."
Hikaru and Kaoru scratched the back of their neck while sheepishly chuckling. Y/n walked past the two twins and placed her hand on the door handle, pushing it down and opening the door to the music room.
Once the door was entirely opened, she entered the territory. She didn't even get the chance to take five steps before being brought into a compressed embrace by the one and only Tamaki Suoh.
"Oh, Y/n's back!" The blond haired male expressed blissfully. "The club was not the same without you, my adoring daughter!"
Y/n sweat dropped at Tamaki's expected reaction, delaying the pat on his back. "Thanks, Senpai."
Just when Tamaki retreated from the embrace, a short, golden-blond haired boy lunged towards Y/n while calling out her name, "Y/n-Chan!" Honey wrapped his arms around the girl's neck as if he were a koala attached to a tree. Y/n positioned one of her hands on her upperclassman's back as the small boy continued to hug her. "We missed you so much, Y/n-Chan!" He announced sincerely, turning his head to the side to stare at his cousin, a beaming smile on his lips. "Right, Takashi?"
"Yeah." Mori confessed and gently placed his hand on Y/n's head, gradually tousling her hair.
The shoulder length, brown haired female smiled delicately at the endearment the club members were demonstrating. "To be honest, it was pretty boring without you guys around..."
Three of the high schoolers' eyes widened for a moment before a smug expression manifested on their faces. "What was that, Y/n?" Tamaki quizzed, situating his hand behind his ear falsely. "I didn't hear you very well."
Hikaru smirked as he moved to stand in front of Y/n, Honey no longer in the girl's arms. "Yeah, did you just say that-"
"-it was boring without us being around?" Kaoru teased, sliding up beside his brother.
Y/n rotated herself around to face away from the three males, shaking her head in denial. "No, you guys need to get your ears checked."
"Aw, come on, Y/n! You don't need to be embarrassed." Tamaki urged, standing behind her as he settled his hands on her shoulders.
"Tamaki-Senpai, let go." Y/n exhibited a playful-stubborn demeanor. "I didn't say anything."
Kyoya hummed, including himself in the conversation. "We all heard it, those three just want to listen to it again." He articulated, making reference to Tamaki, Hikaru, and Kaoru.
A small smile assembled on Y/n's lips as she turned her attention to the dark haired second year. "I know that."
Kyoya's lips then arranged into a faint smile as he looked at the brown haired girl who has been absent from school, his arms crossed over his chest. "It's good to see that your recovery went well."
Y/n showed a small nod of her head. "Thanks, Kyoya-Senpai. I'm happy to be back here with you idiots again."
Tamaki and the twins' eyes widened as they jolted at Y/n's insult. "What?! Idiots?!"
Y/n giggled under her breath as a closed eyed grin became visible on her face. "I'm just messing around with you guys."
