The sky was blue and the sun was shining throughout the atmosphere, the wind carrying the cushiony-like clouds leisurely. It was like any other beautiful spring day, but it wasn't just any day; it was Easter Day.
Y/n and Haruhi didn't have arrangements for this holiday, they just planned on staying at their apartment. But, of course, nothing ever really goes their way.
"Why are we even here?" Haruhi deadpanned as her shoulders slightly became slouched, standing next to Y/n.
The two sisters and the male members of the Host Club were presently stationed near the rose garden-maze that was located in Ouran Academy.
"Because we wanted you here." Tamaki responded in a rational tone. "Today is Easter, and I came up with an amazing idea of having an Easter Egg Hunt!" He extended his arms out, sparkles glistening in his violet eyes as he had an infantile grin on his lips.
"But why are we here at school?" Y/n quizzed, her left hand being positioned on her eyebrows so her hand could shelter her brown eyes from the radiant sun. "We have a day off today. Won't we get in trouble?"
"Tamaki has spoken to Ouran's chairman and requested to permit us to comprise this activity." Kyoya acknowledged with his arms crossed over his chest, the lenses of his glasses reflecting the sunlight.
"I didn't know you were interested in this kind of stuff, Kyoya-Senpai." Haruhi pointed out, shifting her head to look at the said male.
"I can assure you that I'm not." Kyoya said. "This idiot forced me into participating." He stared at the blond haired male, who was standing in front of his comrades.
"Aw, c'mon. Don't be like that, Kyoya. This is going to be so much fun! I had some of my maids hide the Easter eggs around this area." Tamaki unfolded with a bright smile, moving his hands to rest on his hips. "Who's ready to begin?"
"Me! Me!" Honey stretched his left hand up excitedly, his right arm lingered around his pink stuffed bunny. "I'm ready, Tama-Chan!"
"What do we even do? Is this a commoner's game?" Hikaru questioned with his hands in the pockets of his pants, moderately tilting his head to the side.
The Fujioka siblings shared a glance with one another after hearing Hikaru's question. Y/n looked at him with a vaguely stunned expression. "Have you ever hunted for Easter eggs when you were younger?"
"No, we didn't have to search for them." Kaoru replied.
"Yeah, they were consistently handed to us. We never needed to roam around to find them." Hikaru shrugged carelessly.
'Damn these rich people...' Y/n and Haruhi thought, one of their eyebrows twitching in displeasure.
"Anyways," Tamaki continued, clearing his throat, "there are a variety of colored Easter eggs that are hidden around this section. Inside the eggs are little surprises, which makes this activity even more fun and exciting! The point of the game is to gather as much Easter eggs you can, got it?"
"Yes, sir!" Honey and the twins saluted, the auburn haired brothers' demeanors becoming more buoyant.
"Alright, whenever you find an egg place them in your baskets. Here." Tamaki instructed, distributing the small, pale brown, weaved baskets to the seven individuals in front of him, saving one for himself.
"Okay everyone, when I get to the count of three we will all-" The president of the Host Club was interrupted by the Hitachiin twins advancing away from the group, earning an early start in seeking the hidden eggs. "Hey! I said when I counted up to three! Get back here!" He called out to them, annoyed by their actions, but all he received was Hikaru and Kaoru's disregard.

"Yay! Egg hunting!" Honey cheered, quickly skipping towards a bush to search for the pastel colored Easter eggs, Mori soon following his cousin's endeavor.
"H-Hey!" Tamaki attempted once more.
Y/n shrugged her shoulders as a small smile formed on her lips, shortly jogging towards a bush that her golden-blond haired upperclassman wasn't occupying.
Hikaru grinned widely as he collected an Easter egg. "C'mon, boss!"
"Don't just stand there! If you do, there isn't going to be any eggs left for you!" Kaoru chortled as he placed a lemonade-pink colored egg in his basket.
Y/n scanned the bush she was situated at and immediately found an arctic-blue colored egg. A miniature, gleeful smile tugged at the corners of her lips as her delicate hand wrapped around the egg, detaching it from the bush and gently placing it in her basket, afterwards approaching a tree.
She circled the base of the evergreen tree before inspecting the branches above her. Her brown eyes landed on an Easter egg that was leaning against the tree trunk on a branch that was a couple of inches over her.
Y/n reached her right hand up towards the egg, stepping on the tips of her toes as she attempted to grab the plastic object. Her fingers were a short distance away from grazing the egg, but that was as far as she could extend.
Just then, a grown, masculine hand appeared in Y/n's view as it easily attained the egg she had her eyes set on. She lowered her hand back to her side as her eyes trailed on the owners hand, slowly turning around to see who the hand belonged to.
The person who was standing behind her was the dark haired third year, Mori. Once Y/n faced him, he unwrapped his fingers to reveal the egg resting on the palm of his hand. "Here." He insisted monotonously.
Y/n glanced down at the decorative egg before redirecting her gaze to her upperclassman. She exhibited a thankful smile. "Thanks Mori-Senpai, but you can keep it. You grabbed it first; it's only fair."
"It's alright." His tranquil behavior remained as he displayed the egg to her. "Just take it."
Y/n eventually accepted the Easter egg from Mori's hand but instead of setting it down in her basket, she drew her hand towards his weaved receptacle and settled the egg there. She flashed him one more smile before rushing away.
As she progressed to another area to search for more plastic eggs, Mori's lips curved into a faint smile as he stared down at the egg that Y/n placed in his basket.
Y/n arrived in front of the rose garden-maze, her fraternal twin sister also being present there. "So, how many eggs do you have so far?" She asked, standing beside Haruhi as she examined the wall of leaves and red roses.
"We just started, Y/n. We all probably have about three or four eggs." Haruhi began, showing a small smile as she glanced at her wavy haired sibling. "But right now I have three. What about you?"
"I have two right now." Y/n replied, but subsequently detected a cantaloupe-orange and white egg that was located on the grass beside her left foot. She crouched down to grab the plastic egg and positioned it in her basket, standing up straight as she looked back at her sister. "Never mind. Make that three eggs."
Haruhi shook her head as she let out an airy chuckle, Y/n soon departing from the rose garden-maze and continuing to unearth more Easter eggs.

Y/n collected eggs from everywhere she noticed them, making her amount of eggs increase in her basket. She was crouched down in front of an alternative bush, trying to find another Easter egg for her cluster.
From the corner of her eye, she saw someone crouch down next to her. She turned her head to the left to identify who was beside her, instantly recognizing the familiar nest of auburn hair.
"Hey, Y/n." Kaoru addressed with a closed eyed grin.
"Hey Kaoru, are you trying to find some eggs here too?" Y/n questioned, guiding her attention back to the bush in front of her.
"Yeah." Kaoru confirmed, bringing his left hand to the bushes' leaves. "How many do you have right now?"
"About fifteen." Y/n returned with a small smile. "What about you?"
Kaoru was about to respond to her question, but paused his initiative as his hand made contact with a plastic item from within the bush. A smirk became visible on his lips as he pulled his hand out of the bush along with the egg that he has found.
He placed the colorful egg in his basket, turning his peer to the brown haired girl beside him. "Well, I have twenty eggs now." Kaoru notified smugly before straightening his legs as he stood up. "See you later, Y/n!"
With that being said, he ran off to assemble more eggs. Y/n playfully rolled her eyes and stood up, glancing to the right side of her, making her catch sight of a periwinkle-purple colored egg laying on the grass.
'I'm surprised no one has grabbed this one yet. It's not hidden that well.' Y/n thought as she approached the plastic egg and picked it up, setting it in her basket.

"Okay, has everyone finished counting their eggs?" Tamaki inquired, making the seven individuals release a confirming response.
It has been forty minutes since the group of teenagers began seeking for Easter eggs. They were all sitting on the grass with their baskets full of eggs in front of them, finalizing the number of eggs they have each gathered.
"Alright then, what are we waiting for?" Tamaki began with a lighthearted expression. "Kyoya, how many eggs do you have in your basket?"
Kyoya adjusted the glasses that rested upon his face, a dull definition evident on his facial features. "Eighteen."
Tamaki directed his gaze to the tall, silent male. "Mori-Senpai?"
"Twenty."
"Honey-Senpai?" Tamaki questioned after receiving his dark haired upperclassman's quantity of eggs.
"Forty-five!" The golden-blond haired male informed happily, making everyone's eyes slightly widen, except for Mori's and Kyoya's.
"How did you get that many eggs, Honey-Senpai?" Kaoru blurted out in shock, his voice breaking to some extent.
Honey shrugged his shoulders, not knowing the answer himself. "I don't know. I guess I'm just good at finding Easter eggs." He displayed a bubbly, closed eyed smile as he swayed his body from side to side.
Tamaki cleared his throat, redeeming his previous demeanor. "Haruhi, what about you?"
"Sixteen." The said girl acknowledged simply.
"Y/n?" The blond haired male aimed his violet eyes to the other Fujioka sibling.
"Twenty-four." The wavy haired female glanced down at her basket of Easter eggs as she told them the amount she has collected.
"Hikaru?" Tamaki examined. "Kaoru?"
"Thirty." Hikaru said clearly.
"Twenty-nine." Kaoru answered after his brother's response.
"And I have twenty eggs in total. It seems that our winner of the Easter Egg Hunt goes to Honey-Senpai." Tamaki concluded with a friendly smile.
"Yay!" Honey stretched his arms up in victory, a broad grin on his face. "I won!"
"Now let's open our eggs and see what's inside them." Tamaki clasped his hands excitedly, enabling everyone to dig through their baskets and open the eggs they have obtained.
Y/n lightly pressed down on the center of her Easter egg until it popped open, allowing her to view the small pack of candy that was inside, proceeding the process of opening up her plastic, pastel colored eggs.
Suddenly, her face scrunched up in confusion once she opened another egg of hers, but this time finding nothing inside. Y/n shrugged her shoulders and picked up another egg, unlatching it to reveal the expected candy inside, but once again there was nothing perceptible--most of her Easter eggs containing nothing in the interior.
"Hey, is anyone else not finding anything in their Easter eggs?" Y/n questioned, staring up at the group around her.
"I am." Haruhi claimed, looking up from the empty egg that was in her hand.
"Me too." Tamaki disclosed and scratched the back of his head. "How is this possible? I'm positive that my maids filled up each egg with candy, so why are they empty?"
A mischievous smirk was created on the Hitachiin twins' lips. "How interesting is that. Right, Kaoru?" Hikaru commenced roguishly.
"Uh-huh, I wonder why they're getting empty Easter eggs." Kaoru falsely pondered in the same tone as his brother. "Any ideas, Hikaru?"
"What did you guys do?" Y/n interrogated the twins' behavior, faintly furrowing her eyebrows.
"We didn't do anything, Y/n." The twins maintained false innocence as their mischievous smirks lingered on their lips, getting up from the grass with their baskets in their hands.
Hikaru ultimately began to speak once everyone's attention was on him and his brother. "Well, we just found some eggs, but instead of putting most of them in our baskets, we just removed the candy from them-"
"-and put them back to where they were found." Kaoru finished.
"Why would you do such a thing?! This was supposed to be a fair game!" Tamaki exclaimed, his arms flailing around as he scolded the twins, now standing in front of them with an irritated expression.
Haruhi slowly shook her head and sighed, standing up from the ground along with everyone else. "With how sneaky and mischievous they are, we should've known if they were planning something or not."
Y/n nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah."
"Give us back the candy that you two took!" Tamaki demanded, pointing his index finger at the twins' Easter baskets, catching sight of the pile of candy that was hidden beneath the colorful eggs in both of the brothers' baskets.
"No way, boss." The twins rejected in unison.
"Why you little-" Tamaki cut himself off when Hikaru and Kaoru sprinted away with their baskets that accommodated most of the candy. "Hey! Get back here, you dishonorable twins!" He immediately chased after them, making it a mission to achieve the two Easter baskets.
"You can't get us! You can't get us!" The twins taunted as they carried on with their cat-and-mouse chase with the blond haired male.
Y/n sweat dropped, positioned next to her sister as she looked at Tamaki pursuing after Hikaru and Kaoru. "This was definitely a strange Easter, huh?"
"Yep." Haruhi established with her shoulders slightly slouched over.
"Give us back the candy!" Tamaki commanded noisily, glaring daggers at the back of the twins' heads as he ran after them.
"You have to catch us first, boss!" Hikaru and Kaoru challenged with a snicker, still holding onto their baskets.
Y/n exhaled heavily and closed her brown eyes as she steadily shook her head, then a small tug at the corners of her lips occurred while she opened her eyes and directed her attention to Tamaki and the twins. 'Today was strange, but it was also fun.'

I should be clear that while this is very much LitRPG, it's story led and I have tried to make it feel believable. So, for example, the first blue box doesn't appear until chapter 6. I hope that the payoff is worth it. Compared to some LitRPGs you may find the pace rather gentle at times. There will be some periods where it feels like Niall is eking out every level and others when, for good reasons, he makes a significant leap. My goal though is to give you a satisfying story, so that dictates when and how Niall's stats and skills change. I can reassure you that I fully intend for Niall to become immensely powerful, but I want you to feel like he has earned every level in a realistic way.
