《y/n fujioka ||haruhi fujioka's sister||》||56||

It was the day after the talent show and Y/n was resting on her already straightened up bedcovers, holding the lavender colored rose in between her hands that a certain raven haired male gave her.
Y/n's back reposed on her pillows as the backside of her head leaned against the headboard of her bed. A sigh escaped her lips, her brown eyes coming to a close as she allowed the rose to rest upon her chest. 'What is up with me?' She wondered in slight impulse.
Subsequently, last night when Kyoya Ootori presented the single rose to Y/n, she has been sensing unusual conditions from within her--physically feeling the inside of her abdomen flutter along with her heartbeat increasing in speed whenever she glanced at the lavender flower, the apples of her cheeks frequently turning into a shade of pink.
"Why did he even give me this rose?" Y/n mumbled to herself, no one witnessing her defenseless state due to her being the only one available in the apartment.
Haruhi was currently at the grocery store, purchasing items and nourishments for her and the two other residents who live in the apartment unit. Meanwhile, Ranka was attending the okama bar he regularly works at.
"Was he just trying to be nice?" She continued to question the boy's intention. "Ugh, I feel so stupid right now." She groaned, facepalming herself with her right hand as her left hand held the rose.
An assumption suddenly crossed her mind, making her hand remove itself from her face as her eyes widened.
'Wait... Could he...?' Y/n's thoughts trailed off before she shook her head in denial and clicked her tongue. 'Of course he doesn't. This is Kyoya Ootori I'm talking about.'
Y/n directed her gaze to the flower that was positioned on her chest, gently bringing the petals to the tip of her nose. 'But... Could he really like me in that kind of way?'
Y/n grunted in an embittered manner and sat up on the edge of her bed, her bare feet meeting the cool wooden floor. She stared down at the lavender colored rose that was resting between her left thumb and index finger as her right hand laid beside her.
'Why am I getting so frustrated about this? And why do I feel weird whenever I think of him?' She pondered, her indecision and tension heightening. 'Ugh! I can be even more thickheaded than Haruhi! I really don't wanna get the wrong idea about this situation...'
Y/n placed the delicate rose onto her nightstand and got up from her mattress. She paced around her room while fiddling with her fingers. 'Should I speak to someone about this? Maybe I should talk to Kyoya-Senpai so he could answer my questions.' Y/n recommended and halted her movements at her nonsensical suggestion. 'Yeah, no... I'll just talk to Haruhi when she gets back from the store.'
Y/n opened the door and exited the bedroom that she shared with her sister, guiding herself through the limited hallway to make an appearance in the small living room.
She settled down onto the tatami mat in front of the coffee table, facing the entrance to their apartment, awaiting her sister's arrival back from the supermarket.

Eventually, the front door unlocked and was opened by the short haired female whom Y/n's been waiting for. The newcomer entered the apartment with three plastic bags containing groceries.
"I'm home- oh, you're right here." Haruhi cut off her introduction once she caught sight of Y/n sitting in the living room. She closed and locked the door before beginning to take off her shoes.
"Hey, welcome back. How did the shopping go?" Y/n asked as she got up from her sitting position and walked towards her sister to assist her with the plastic bags.
"It was fine. I got a few discounts on some items." Haruhi claimed with a small smile, allowing Y/n to take two bags from her.
The two sisters brought the grocery bags to the kitchen counter and began to separate the items from the shopping bags, storing them in their specific locations.
"So Haruhi, can I...talk to you about something?" Y/n questioned rather dubiously, closing a cupboard after putting an item away.
"Hm? Sure." Haruhi nodded her head with a shrug of her shoulders, continuing to remove the products from the plastic bags. "What do you want to talk about?"
Y/n leaned back against the countertop as she watched her sister establish the refrigerated components in the refrigerator. "Well...remember last night?"
Haruhi let out an airy chuckle at the wavy haired girl's question. "Of course I do. How could I forget?"
"Do you remember the rose that I got?"
"Yeah...?" Haruhi confirmed, more so sounding like a question than a statement. She turned her gaze to Y/n. "Now that I think about it, where did you get it?"
"Kyoya-Senpai gave it to me." Y/n responded after a second, making silence engross the kitchen as the short haired female processed her sister's answer.
"Eh...?" Haruhi held a blank expression of confusion on her face. "Wait, Kyoya-Senpai gave you that rose?"
"Yeah." Y/n sighed as she confessed her current circumstances. "I'm so confused, Haruhi. Ever since he gave me that rose, I've been feeling strange--like my stomach twists into a knot and flutters whenever I think about it. I don't know if he was just trying to be nice by giving it to me or something, but that's so out of character of him."
"Why don't you just ask him?" Haruhi inquired, closing the refrigerator door, and approached the countertop.
"I don't know... I'm just nervous of bringing it up to him." The wavy haired female explained, glancing down at the wooden floor. "I just want to know why I'm suddenly feeling this way towards him when I don't even know how he feels about me."
"Y/n, I'm not the best person to approach when seeking guidance about feeling instincts for someone. But I think you are becoming fond of Kyoya-Senpai in an affectionate way, which is entirely okay." Haruhi assured, moving to stand in front of her sister so she could place a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Just know that someday you'll have to tell him how you feel."
Y/n nodded tentatively. "I know but I'm not ready to yet and I don't think I will be for a while. A part of me views him as how I usually see him, but the other part of me gets flustered whenever I think about him. It's honestly really confusing me."

"Don't stress yourself out over this." Haruhi advised. "Just be patient."
She nodded and displayed a small smile to the female standing in front of her. "Thank you, Haruhi. I don't know what I'd do without you." She wrapped her arms around her sister, expressing appreciation and endearment.
Haruhi accepted the embrace, smiling softly at her sister's actions. "I don't know what I'd do without you either, Y/n."

Y/n and Haruhi were in music room three, engaging in after school club activities on a Monday afternoon. The pair of siblings were seated at a table with two female students--one of the girl's appearance's maintained long, straight, medium bronze-brown hair as well as grey-green eyes, meanwhile the second girl has auburn-brown hair that was styled into a ponytail while her eyes exhibited a royal shade of blue.
"Y/n, I heard about the talent show you participated in Friday night." The auburn-brown haired female imparted with a commending smile.
"Hikaru and Kaoru wont stop talking about it." The grey-green eyed young woman giggled.
"Oh, I had no idea they were doing that." Y/n faintly sweat dropped. "Sorry about-"
"They were also showing us pictures!" The long haired female endured in delight. "We both bought one." The two female's sitting across from the Fujioka siblings suddenly held a postcard that showed a picture of Y/n singing on the stage during Friday night's talent show--the image captured the wavy haired teenager quite flawlessly, seeming as if a professional photographer took the snapshot.
"How did they get pictures taken?" Haruhi quizzed quietly in slight shock. "I was right next to them."
"I have no idea." Y/n mumbled to her sister as the two girls compared their pictures of the wavy, brown haired female.
"She looks like an idol!" The two individuals exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Can I please get your autograph?" The blue eyed student requested with an optimistic definition.
"Can I please get one as well?" The long haired female enjoined.
"Uh, s-sure." Y/n stumbled over her words, immediately being handed a black marker by the auburn-brown haired girl.
Y/n signed her name on both of the postcards before passing them back to the two female high schoolers.
"Ah! Thank you so much!" They both expressed their gratitude with a blissful smile.
"Yeah." Y/n began with a small, sheepish smile, noting the girls' reactions were inessential due to her only being a first year in high school, not a well-known celebrity. "No problem."
Haruhi nudged Y/n's side with her elbow, a teasing expression on her face. "Wow, you're pretty popular, huh, Y/n?"
"Shut up, Haruhi." Y/n muttered and gently jabbed her sister with her elbow in return.
"Oh Haruhi, you must have been so supportive of your sister." The female with straight, medium bronze-brown hair commented in awe.
"Of course." Haruhi validated with a softhearted countenance, a small adoring smile developing on her lips. "I will always support Y/n in whatever she does."
"Ahh! So cute!" The two girls squealed and interlocked their hands with one another, a small blush apparent on their cheeks.
"Their bond is so strong!"
"I know, right!" The auburn-brown haired female corresponded, not realizing that a person has approached their table.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, Mademoiselle's, but I'm afraid your time with Haruhi and Y/n are up." Kyoya showed a small bow, his sudden presence making the shoulder length, brown haired girl jolt.
The two customer's shade of pink intensified on their cheeks as they caught sight of Kyoya. "O-Oh, that's okay!" The student with long hair convinced.
"Y-Yeah!" The blue eyed female agreed.
The two guests directed their attention to Y/n and Haruhi, standing up from their chairs as they smiled at them. "Thank you for keeping us company today. We'll see you soon!"
The Fujioka sisters waved the two females off as they approached the double-doors and exited the music room.
"Kyoya-Senpai?" Haruhi began, gaining the said male's awareness.
"Yes?" He asked, glancing down at the two sisters who got up from where they were sitting.
Y/n ignored the fluttery sensation in her stomach as she placed her sweaty palms on her true blue-purple skirt. "How did you get pictures of me during my performance in the talent show?" She examined with a confused expression.
"I was sitting beside you guys the whole time and I didn't see any of you taking pictures." Haruhi claimed.
"Pictures aren't the only thing we captured, there's a video published on the club's website of your performance, Y/n." Kyoya informed casually, one of his hands positioned on his hips.
"Huh? How?" Y/n and Haruhi released with slightly widened eyes.
"You two should be well-aware of this by now." He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose as a smirk formed on his lips. "I unfailingly find a way to achieve deeds without anyone noticing."
The two sisters sweat dropped at his affirmation. "Yeah... We know."
"Then why ask?" He progressed.
"Because we are both curious." Y/n expounded to her upperclassman. "If Haruhi didn't see you or anyone else taking pictures or videos of me, then how did you get them that night?"
"I have my sources." Kyoya said, his brownish-grey eyes associating with Y/n's brown orbs, his miniature smirk intended for her.
The wavy haired girl once again detected the flittering sentiment in her stomach as a indistinct hue of pink gathered on her cheeks.
Y/n swiftly rolled her eyes and walked passed him. "That doesn't answer anything, Kyoya-Senpai." She remarked as she advanced away from him and her sister, the fluttering in her abdomen still present along with her rosy cheeks.
As the shoulder length, brown haired female walked away, she didn't perceive the pair of brownish-grey eyes that trailed after her.
