The two days passed by expeditiously. The brown, wavy haired female was having mixed feelings about the upcoming talent show that the Hitachiin twins signed her up for.
She truly took her father's words to heart and thought about them for the past two days.
She felt excited, yet nervous at the same time. It's been awhile since she's sang in front of an audience. The time she sang for the production at Lobelia Girls' Academy was different--she wasn't required to sing in front of a crowd of people, she just needed to record her voice on a tape so Haruhi could lip sync to it on stage.
Y/n was currently in music room three, the Host Club being open for business. She fiddled her fingers and she was completely inattentive until her customer caught her attention.
"Uhm, Y/n, is everything all right?" The young woman examined with slight concern, sitting in front of the girl with brown hair. "You seem off-guard about something."
Y/n's behavior quickly recovered and her eyes faintly widened. "I'm so sorry about that. Thank you for your concern, but I'm fine." A small, reassuring smile pulled at the corners of her lips.
The female sitting across from Y/n returned a smile of her own as she nodded her head. "Okay."
Y/n conversed with her guest and listened to what the female had to say, but her thoughts still lingered in the back of her mind.
"It was great talking to you, Y/n." The customer smiled sweetly as she got up from her chair. "You really are the sisterly type."
"Thank you. It was great talking to you as well. I hope to see you soon." Y/n kindly waved her hand as the female student bid her farewell, soon approaching the doors and exiting the music room.
"Y/n." Two sing-song voices chimed in from behind her.
The said girl turned herself around and was met with Hikaru and Kaoru. "Yeah? What is it?"
"You know what day it is, right?" Hikaru grinned widely, staring down at her.
"Oh, how could I forget." Y/n moderately rolled her eyes, her words being laced with sarcasm.
"Aww, don't be like that." Kaoru smiled. "You're gonna do great!" He and Hikaru wrapped their arm around her shoulders.
"Thanks..." Y/n mumbled and stood up from her chair, making the twin's arms unfasten from around her shoulders, soon strolling away from them.
"Do you have a song picked out?" Hikaru asked, him and his brother sliding up on either side of her as they placed their arm around her shoulders once more.
"Yeah." She answered simply.
"Finally! What song are you going to sing?" Kaoru questioned with vague enthusiasm.
"You'll just have to wait and see."
The twins glanced at each other, an idea organizing in their mind as a smirk appeared on their lips. "You know-" Hikaru began as he gently grabbed Y/n's right hand and placed it near his lips.
"-you can always come over to our house-" Kaoru continued, placing one of his arms around Y/n's waist and using his free hand to grab Y/n's left hand.
"-and sing us to sleep." The twins finished in a enticing tone.
The females in the music room squealed in delight as heart shapes formed in their eyes due to the twins' sudden act with Y/n.
"Ahh, this is such a rare sight!" One of them shouted with their hands on their cheeks.
"I know, right! I will always remember this moment!"

"I forbid it!" Tamaki exclaimed as he sprinted towards the identical pair of brothers, stopping behind them and smacking them both on the back of their head. "Stop bothering Y/n, you perverted twins!"
"Who're you calling 'perverted'? We're just trying to ease Y/n's tension for the talent show!" The twins defended as they rubbed the back of their head before turning their gaze to the brown haired female with a smirk. "Unless...?"
"No." Y/n rejected in a detached tone. "Thanks for trying to 'ease my tension', but I'm fine."
She turned away from the twins and proceeded onward, approaching Haruhi who was tidying up tables that were no longer being used.
"Hey, need some help?" Y/n offered as she picked up an empty teacup.
"That'd be great. Thanks, Y/n." Haruhi said, a small smile assembling on her lips as she placed the teapot, that contained nothing inside, onto the serving tray. "So, are you ready for tonight?"
Y/n sighed in response, her brown eyes staring aimlessly at the circular table. "I guess."
"It's going to be fine. I know you." Haruhi assured, resting her right hand on her sisters back, making the wavy haired girl look at her. "You're ready."
- - - -
Club activities have just came to an end, the time now being five o'clock. Y/n and Haruhi were about to come into possession of their school bags that were near the corner of music room three.
Haruhi pulled out her red cellphone from the inside of her bag once she got hold of it, noticing that she has received a text message from her father, Ranka. "Hey, dad messaged me saying that he'll meet us at the shopping center. He's going to leave work at five:thirty so he'll make it on time." She informed her sister, putting her cellphone back in her bag.
Y/n nodded as she carried her own school bag, advancing towards the double-doors alongside her sister. "Okay. Let's get going then. We both still have to get ready."
"Not so fast, Y/n." The club president's voice sounded from behind the Fujioka siblings.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Y/n quizzed in confusion, glancing back at the blond haired male.
"Senpai, we have to go so Y/n could get ready for the talent show." Haruhi told him rationally.
Tamaki disregard the sisters' reasons and snapped his fingers, causing Hikaru and Kaoru to appear behind him and salute.
"Yes, sir!" The twins implemented and abruptly seized either of Y/n's arms, briskly dragging her away and into the changing room.
"You could've just told me to follow you." Y/n grunted, forcing herself out of the twins' grasp. "You didn't have to drag me like that."
"Whatever. Put this on." Hikaru dismissed and displayed an outfit that rested in a clear plastic clothes cover.
"Why? I already have clothes to-"
"Don't ask questions!" The twins interrupted and lunged towards her.
"Okay, okay! I'll change! Just get out!" Y/n enjoined harshly, shoving them out of the changing room before shutting the door closed.
Y/n sighed and walked into a changing stall, inspecting herself in the vertical mirror that was installed in there. She began to disrobe herself, removing her true blue-purple blazer before peeling off the rest of her uniform. She extracted the outfit that the twins gave to her from the see-through plastic cover, swiftly clothing herself.
Once she was done putting on the new clothing, she directed her eyes to her reflection that showed in the mirror. She was dressed in a loose, black shirt with a matching pair of black shorts, her footwear being knee high black boots that fit around her legs perfectly.

Y/n opened the pale yellow curtain and stepped out of the changing stall, proceeding towards the changing room doors and unlatched them, revealing herself to the individuals who were waiting for her.
"Is this really necessary?" She questioned, gesturing her hands to her attire.
"Of course it is. Every performer needs a remarkable outfit when they go on stage." Kaoru accredited in a self-evident tone.
"And that is why I put Hikaru and Kaoru in charge of styling you." Tamaki pointed out with one of his hands positioned on his hips while his other one was aiming an index finger upwards.
"What about you guys and Haruhi? You still need to go home and change out of your school uniform." Y/n claimed, her hands being raised slightly.
"We all brought a spare change of clothes with us." Honey acknowledged with a pleased smile as he took a bite out of his piece of cake, sitting at a circular table across from Mori and beside Kyoya.
"I didn't." Haruhi muttered with an impassive expression as she moderately slouched her shoulders.
"Then you'll have to go to your apartment and change into some appropriate clothes." Kyoya resolved apathetically, situated on a chair as his fingers pressed down on the many keys of his keyboard to his laptop.
"Or," Tamaki began and took out a blushing-pink, a-line scoop neck, asymmetrical chiffon dress with ruffles. The length of the dress seemed to be almost above the knees, "she could wear this."
There was a moment of silence as the group of teenagers stared at the blond haired male and the dress that was exhibited in his hands.
"I'll just walk myself home and change into my own clothes." Haruhi settled blankly and exited the clubroom.
The short haired girl's refusal in wearing the dress made Tamaki gasp and quickly appear in a corner with a dispirited aura. "She...didn't want to wear the dress that I...picked out for her..." He muttered, making Y/n sweat drop at his reaction.
She didn't get the chance to somehow ease the blond haired male due to the Hitachiin twins pushing her down onto a chair. "Alright. Now stay still!" They demanded.
Hikaru began to groom her hair as Kaoru started on her makeup. 'Jeez. This is a talent show, not a fashion show.' Y/n opined, mentally rolling her eyes.
- - - -
"Done!" The twins announced with proud grins on their lips, their hands positioned on their hips as they stood in front of Y/n along with the other hosts.
Tamaki's eyes held adoration as he placed his hands on his cheeks, a cherishing smile on his lips. "You look so adorable, Y/n!" He shouted, the corner of his eyes displaying a small amount of tears.
"I can't believe that we actually did all this in the span of twenty minutes." Hikaru commented, making Kaoru hum, both of them still exposing their satisfied grins.
"You look so pretty, Y/n-Chan!" Honey complimented with an idolizing definition, holding his stuffed bunny in his arms.
"Thanks, but can someone hand me a mirror so I could see myself?" Y/n requested casually, still seated on the chair.
Kaoru delivered a hand mirror to Y/n, allowing the brown haired girl to observe the results of her minor alterations.
There was a small amount of concealer that was blended under her eyes. Her eyelids maintained a neutral shade of eyeshadow that displayed some shimmer, which made her brown orbs more perceptible. Black eyeliner was apparent on her upper lash line as mascara endorsed her eyelashes. Her lips held a faint shade of red that completed her look, and her shoulder length, brown, wavy hair was styled up in a high-ponytail.
"Wow. You two actually didn't do that bad." Y/n acclaimed, redirecting her gaze to the twins as her red tinted lips showed a small smile.
"Of course we didn't." Kaoru remarked, a broad smile on his lips.
"We're the best of the best, you know." Hikaru expressed with a closed eyed grin.
Tamaki clapped his hands twice to gain everyone's attention. "Alright gentlemen, now that Y/n is well arranged, let's hurriedly dress ourselves in our clothes that we brought and retrieve Haruhi."
With that being said, the hosts promptly changed into their spare outfits in a respective changing stall. Once they were all prepared, they departed Ouran Academy and entered a black limousine that was patiently waiting for them, soon driving away once everyone was inside the vehicle.
The limousine traveled towards the Fujioka family's neighborhood, nearing the apartment complex of where the sisters and their father lived.
The vehicle gradually came to a stop once it reached the apartment building. Haruhi was already outside, sitting on the first step to the metal stairs, soon standing up once she noticed the limousine. The short, brown haired female advanced towards the vehicle and got inside after she opened the back door, moving herself to sit beside her sister.
"How are you feeling?" Haruhi questioned the wavy haired girl discreetly as the limousine drove off once again.
"Nervous. My stomach feels like it's on a roller coaster and my palms are sweaty." Y/n notified in a whisper as she unclenched her hands.
Haruhi manifested a small, reassuring smile on her lips. "You're going to be amazing. Just believe in yourself like how dad and I believe in you."
The time was currently five:forty-five once they arrived at the shopping center, which is presenting the talent show.
The Host Club members exited the limousine and approached the area of where the talent show was being held. The stage was neither big or small, it was the ideal size for the trifling talent show. There were long, wooden benches that were positioned in front of the stage, a large amount of people already present for the event.
"All participants, calling all participants, please make your way behind the stage at this time. Again, all participants please make your way behind the stage." A middle aged man wearing a black suit directed through a microphone, standing on the platform before walking off.
"Alright then, wish me luck." Y/n said as she stared at the seven high schoolers with a sheepish smile.
"Good luck, Y/n-Chan!" Honey returned blissfully.
Mori showed a small nod with a very faint tug at the corner of his lips. "Mh."
"Good luck." Haruhi granted with a genuine, warmhearted smile.
"Break a leg!" The twins vocalized with a grin.
Tamaki suddenly pulled Y/n into a bone-crushing hug, spinning her around like she was a rag doll. "Oh! You're going to do fantastic! My little girl, daddy will be watching!"
"Who are you calling 'little girl'?"
The group of teenagers directed their attention to the familiar voice that sounded from behind them and caught sight of Ranka, who was glaring intensely at the blond haired boy.
Ranka suddenly punched Tamaki on the head, making him release Y/n from the embrace and collapse down onto the ground. He walked on top of the whimpering male so he could make his way to his daughter.
"Sweetheart, you look so beautiful! You're gonna be great out there, my little girl." Ranka displayed a closed eyed smile as he brought Y/n into a motivating and loving embrace.
"T-Thanks, dad." Y/n sweat dropped as she caught a glimpse of Tamaki, who already had a lump forming on his head.
Ranka let go of Y/n and showed her one last smile before she made her way behind the tall stage.
Five minutes go by and the same middle aged man from before strolled onto the stage with a microphone in his hand. "Welcome, one and all, to this year's talent show! Please take a seat and wait for these amazing performers to show their talent!"
'Why the hell is he making it sound like we're professionals?' Y/n thought as her eyebrow slightly twitched before letting out a sigh. 'You need to calm down, Y/n. There are fifteen acts before yours--you have plenty of time to prepare yourself. You're going to do great!' She inspirited herself, closing her hands into confident fists as an inspired smile formed on her lips. 'I can do this!'
- - - -
"I don't know if I can do this..." The wavy haired girl muttered with wide brown eyes.
Y/n was next to perform and her nerves were skyrocketing. All the wooden benches were occupied by numerous people. People that were about to witness and possibly criticize her once she walks onto that stage.
"No. Don't turn back. Don't talk like that. I can do this." Y/n muttered to herself, clenching her fists as she tried to uplift her motivation, moderately hopping in place which earned her some strange and questionable glances from the individuals who were also backstage.
"Next up, we have a high school student named Y/n Fujioka!" The man announced and the audience applauded encouragingly and respectfully.
'Ah, shit...' Y/n reflected as her soul practically evacuated her body.
Y/n shook her head and regained her composure, exhibiting an attitude of assertiveness as she walked onto the stage.
"That's my daughter!" Ranka publicized from the crowd, pointing excitedly at Y/n as he glanced at the people around him.
'Thanks a lot, dad...' Y/n mentally expressed sarcasm as her anxiety grew, a faint embarrassed shade of pink tinting her cheeks.
With every step she takes, she inhales deeply, attempting to calm her nerves. The bright light that was shining down on the stage was focused on Y/n.
'You got this...' She thought and drew closer to the microphone stand that was positioned on the center of the stage. 'All you have to do is feel the music...' She took her final step and stood in front of the microphone. 'And just sing...'
Y/n tapped her right hand against her hip to the beat of the music, placing her left hand on the microphone as she began to sing.
"Well sometimes I go out by myself,
And I look across the water."
She pointed her right index finger at the crowd before bringing it to the side of her head.
"And I think of all the things,
What you're doing and in my head I paint a picture.
'Cause since I've come on home,
Well my body's been a mess
And I've missed your ginger hair
And the way you like to dress.
Won't you come on over,
Stop making a fool outta me.
Why don't you come on over Valerie? Valerie.
Valerie, Valerie.
Did you have to go to jail?
Put your house on up for sale,
Did you get a good lawyer?"
Y/n grabbed the microphone with her left hand and began to advance towards the left side of the stage, bringing her right hand to the middle of her chest.
"I hope you didn't catch a tan.
I hope you'll find the right man
Who'll fix it for ya.
