Y/n and Haruhi proceeded their journey towards music room three for their after school club activities. They stopped in front of the two familiar doors and opened them, revealing the six other members of the Host Club arranging the room for their foreseen guests.

"Finally. There you two are." Tamaki turned away from the table he was establishing to glance at the two individuals who has just entered the music room. "Hurry up, and prepare some instant coffee. Our customers will arrive in any minute."

Haruhi and Y/n mentally rolled their eyes at the club president's assertive tone. "Yeah, yeah. We're on it."

The two sisters walked over to the small room that resembled a kitchen and began to assemble the hot water and coffee powder. Once they completed their task, they exited the compact kitchenette.

They immediately noticed that the club was open for business due to the many female students who were present in the music room. Y/n caught sight of her section of the room and was acquainted with deserted chairs. On the other hand, Haruhi had three girls waiting for her at her table.

"Here. I'll take this." Y/n initiated as she carefully obtained the serving tray that held teacups and a teapot which were filled with warm coffee that were in the hands of her sister. "You have three guests waiting for you."

"Thanks, Y/n." Haruhi conveyed with a softhearted smile and approached her customers once she no longer held the serving tray.

Y/n wandered around the capacity, supplying the customers with teacups occupied with coffee, periodically conversing with some girls as she offered the porcelain cups.

When she was done handing out the teacups, she walked towards her inactive table and sat down on one of the chairs. She pulled out a book from her school bag that was hanging off the chair she was positioned on and began to read the novel to pass some time.

The Host Club has only been open for twenty minutes and Y/n was still studying her book, not even one female making an appointment with her, which she was indifferent about.

"Wow. Y/n-Chan doesn't have any guests today?" A somewhat childish, high pitched voice questioned, making their presence announced to the said girl.

She looked up from her publication and was met with the other Host Club members standing in front of her.

"Mh." Mori simply hummed to his cousin's observation, who was currently situated on his shoulders.

"That's kinda sad." The twins mumbled impassively. Hikaru was leaning his arm on Kaoru's shoulder as the younger Hitachiin twin had his hands in the pockets of his trousers.

"Well, I don't think a bunch of girls want my attention. They come to me if they need some guidance or advice, while they go to you guys to become flustered." Y/n particularized, folding the top corner of the page she was left on as a way of bookmarking it before gently closing her book.

"She's right." Haruhi agreed in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I'm afraid that if this resumes your debt will escalate." Kyoya informed as he wrote elucidations into his black notebook, making the Fujioka siblings flinch.

"I don't have the authority to make someone sit with me or not. Maybe if Tamaki-Senpai didn't forbid me from hosting male students, I wouldn't be sitting here doing nothing but reading a book." Y/n contended with slightly narrowed eyes as she moved her gaze to her blond haired upperclassman.

"I did it because it was the fatherly thing to do." Tamaki crossed his arms over his chest, turning his head to the side with his eyes closed. "I don't want my daughters alluring anyone or being allured with."

"You do realize that Haruhi flirts with her guests, right?" Y/n pointed out bluntly.

Tamaki sweat dropped as his eyes widened. In a fraction of a second, he was crouched down in front of a nearby pillar with a discouraged aura encircling him.

"I wouldn't call it 'flirting'." Haruhi deduced with a sigh. "I compliment them."

"Anyways," Y/n began as she looked at the hosts, ignoring her sister's correction, "shouldn't you guys be with your customers right now?"

Hikaru detached his arm from his brother's shoulder, putting his hands in his pockets. "Yeah, but-"

"-Renge decided to show up and promote some pictures of us for the Host Club." Kaoru finished off his brother's sentence.

"I thought that was Kyoya-Senpai's job."

"Not exactly." Kyoya replied to Y/n's statement. "I'm here to do what the others achieve--engaging in conversation with our visitors--and to make certain the club doesn't go over the budget." He clarified, closing his notebook and stationing it under his right arm. "I occasionally display photo books of us for additional income."

'Mm, money-hogger.' Y/n reckoned, moderately slouching her shoulders as she stared at the raven haired male who wore glasses.

"Oh yeah, before I forget!" Kaoru began and pulled out a light yellow colored sheet of paper from the inside of his true blue-purple blazer, catching the attention of the blond haired male who was crouching down in front of the pillar.

Y/n accepted the piece of paper that Kaoru was holding out, scanning through the words that were printed on it. "A talent show?" She questioned once she finished reading the information to herself, looking up at Kaoru. "Why did you give me this?"

"And where did you find it?" Tamaki examined, now standing behind Y/n, hovering over her shoulder to get a better view of the sheet of paper.

"We found it yesterday in our mother's office." Hikaru mentioned. "We don't know why she had it or where she got it, but it caught our attention so we took it."

"Yeah, and it says that anyone is allowed to join." Kaoru added.

"So?" Y/n quizzed, placing the sheet of paper down on the table beside her book.

"So," Hikaru and Kaoru began, "we signed you up to participate, Y/n!" They announced with closed eyed grins on their faces.

"Eh...?" The wavy haired female let out.

"That's great!" Honey commented with an overjoyed smile. "Now Y/n-Chan can show her talent to everyone!"

Y/n remained silent for a moment, processing what the twins just disclosed.

Then it finally dawned on her.

"Wait... You did what?!" Y/n exclaimed with widened eyes, her hands landing flat on the table as she stood up.

"What? Why are you so surprised?" Hikaru asked blankly, raising an eyebrow.

"I didn't give you permission to put me in a talent show!" She told them loudly, irritation evident in her tone and body language.

Tamaki placed an assuring hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, Y/n. Just think about it. You're going to sing your heart out and-" He cut himself off once he noticed the glare the girl was sending him, making him shriek and jump away from her.

"You should've asked Y/n if she wanted to be a part of the talent show instead of signing her up without her knowing about it." Haruhi stated as she stared at Hikaru and Kaoru.

The twins shrugged their shoulders. "There's nothing we can do about it now. She's already expected to perform."

"Ooh, when's the show?" Honey inquired, now standing on the floor with his fists above his chest as he smiled brightly.

"This Friday, starting at six o'clock in the evening." The Hitachiin twins answered.

"In two days?" Y/n pondered in disbelief, the volume of her voice becoming a mumble so she wouldn't disrupt the customers who were in the music room.

Kyoya adjusted his glasses before crossing his arms over his chest. "Mm, it appears so."

"I don't even know what I'm going to do." Y/n placed a hand on her forehead, slowly bringing herself to sit back down on her chair.

"I thought it was rather obvious." Kyoya said, glancing at the shoulder length, brown haired girl. "Tamaki did say it before you scared him off."

"Sing? But I don't even know what song." Y/n reasoned swiftly, separating her hand from her forehead. "And I haven't practiced at all--I just found out about this talent show a couple of minutes ago."

"Then it looks like you need to start finding a song and start practicing quickly before Friday." Kaoru acknowledged with a grin.

"Yay!" Honey beamed, raising his hands up. "I can't wait to hear Y/n-Chan sing in person!"

Mori's monotone voice chimed in as he stood beside the short, golden-blond haired male. "Yeah."

Later that evening, Y/n was going through some song choices she has written down on a sheet of paper that she could perform for the talent show on Friday.

Y/n was suddenly interrupted by her father, who has just arrived back home from work. He barged into the bedroom his daughter's shared and quickly kneeled down beside Y/n, pulling her into a secure hug.

"I can't believe that one of my daughters is going to sing in a talent show." Ranka mentioned happily, nuzzling his cheek against the right side of Y/n's forehead. "Oh, I'm so proud!"

"How did you find out?" Y/n questioned, steadily removing herself from the tight embrace. "Haruhi and I haven't even told you yet."

"Yeah, how did you find out, dad?" Haruhi inquired with a raised eyebrow. She was sitting on the floor across from her sister, completing her homework on the small coffee table as Y/n's back faced the bedroom door.

"I heard the news from Kyoya." He notified with a smile, placing his hands on his lap. "He called me this afternoon and told me all about it!"

The two sisters deadpanned at their father's response. "Of course he did."

Y/n sighed and directed her brown eyes to the list of songs that were on the surface of the coffee table. "I don't even want to do this stupid talent show..."

Ranka frowned at his daughter's utterance. "Why not? Usually, you're always so excited about these things."

"I used to be excited about them." Y/n articulated, her brown eyes remaining on the sheet of paper. "I'm fifteen years old, dad. I'm not interested in singing and acting anymore. I want to focus on becoming a doctor."

Ranka looked at his daughter with a gentle, yet stern expression. "You're lying."

"Dad-"

"Y/n, you're my daughter. I know you and Haruhi like the back of my hands. I know that you wanting to become a doctor is a false dream. You have always been so creative and gifted. I know that you still have a passion for singing. Stop lying to yourself and stop wasting your talent." Ranka pulled the wavy haired female into a comforting hug. "You only live a certain life once. Just listen to your heart and follow the path that calls you. The path that you actually want to go through and the path you feel is right."

Y/n hummed in acknowledgment. Her father's words of encouragement repeating itself in her head. 'Follow the path I want to go through and the path that I feel is right...'

She slowly wrapped her arms around her father and rested her head on his shoulder, closing her brown eyes as she welcomed the affectionate embrace. "Thanks, dad..."
