It was now summer break for Y/n and Haruhi Fujioka. Due to having a couple of weeks off from school, the two sisters won't stumble across the Host Club, allowing them to relax and not be disgruntled by six young men.
Their current location was in Karuizawa, working a part-time job at a pension that is run by one of their father's friends and former employee, Misuzu.
Y/n was clothed in a black t-shirt with denim shorts and white sneakers. The hem of her shirt was loosely tucked into her shorts and her shoulder length, wavy hair was styled into a ponytail with two strands of hair resting upon the sides of her face. Over her apparel was a pale yellow apron that was identical to the one Haruhi was wearing.
"Hey Y/n, wanna help me hang these sheets outside so they can dry?" Haruhi requested as she approached her sister holding a basket with white covers inside.
Y/n nodded with a small smile. "Yeah, sure."
The two relatives walked outside and went towards the clothesline. Haruhi placed the basket that was filled with sheets on the grass.
The two females began to hang up the white sheets, making sure that they were clipped securely on the clothesline so they don't get blown away when the wind penetrates the atmosphere.
Once Haruhi and Y/n we're finished hanging up the sheets, Haruhi grabbed the empty basket from the ground.
They didn't even get the chance to turn away and walk towards the pension due to the abrupt gush of extreme wind appearing around them.
"HARUHI! Y/N!"
'Oh no... I know that voice.' Y/n grimaced and directed her brown eyes above her.
She set her eyes on a white and blue helicopter. A pair of acquainted violet eyes were looking down at the two sisters, drops of tears falling out of his eyes as he held a speaker microphone in his hand. Two auburn haired twins stood behind him as they glanced down at the brown haired females.
"Despair not! Daddy's come to save you!"
The wind that was coming from the helicopter was so strong that the white sheets the sisters hung up got detached from the clothesline, making the two females stare at the fleeing covers.
'...there goes our peaceful summer.' Y/n thought, grumbling under her breath. 'They can't just let us have a normal break, right? Unbelievable.'

Y/n, Haruhi, and the male members of the Host Club were now inside the bed and breakfast, standing near a long, mustard-brown haired individual who was wearing makeup.
"Oh my! What dashing young men you are! These hunks must belong to Haruhi and Y/n!" The owner of the pension, Misuzu, fawned over the Host Club, his hands were clasped together as he moved them side to side. "Why don't you call me Misuzu-chi!" He offered kindly, holding up an index finger with a closed eyed smile.
"He's an old friend of Ranka's. They used to work together at the same shop years ago." Kyoya unveiled.
"Well, naturally you would know." Tamaki countered in annoyance, moderately glowering at the raven haired male with spectacles.
"Kill me." Haruhi muttered with her head turned away from the group.
Misuzu spread his arms apart, making the gathering of high schoolers lean back so they won't get whacked with his limbs as he twirled around, flower blossoms figuratively emerging from his aura. "I went into business for myself two years ago and believe you me running this adorable little pension is like living a fairytale!"

"So then, is Haru-Chan and Y/n-Chan like your indentured servants?" Honey asked with a amiable, closed lipped smile as he held his pink stuffed bunny, Usa-Chan.
"They're more like an unpaid employee." Kyoya clarified with a modest tug on his lips. "This also happens to be Ranka's preferred method for keeping track of his daughter's while he's busy working."
"What the-? How do you know all of this stuff?" Tamaki muttered in displeasure while sliding up to the raven haired young man who was pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose by using his index finger and middle finger.
"Kill me." Haruhi mumbled once again while sweat dropping, but Y/n uttered it simultaneously with her sister.
"Take my little girls under your wing, he says. He practically begged me. And since I still can't afford the expense of hired help, it works out for everyone." Misuzu proclaimed and grabbed Y/n and Haruhi by their shoulder, rocking their limp bodies from one side to the other. "They're model employee's, really. It's such a shame I can't pay them anything. Oh." He rotated the two sisters to face the others. "Tell me what you boys think of this cute little apron they're wearing. I made it myself!" He gestured his hands towards the pale yellow aprons proudly.
Tamaki, the twins, Honey, and Mori displayed a thumbs up while Kyoya wrote in a small brown notebook of his.
"You are quite an exquisite seamstress!" Tamaki complimented.

The eight members of the Host Club were stationed outside. Two round tables were positioned on the grass with teacups and a teapot on top of the table's surface.
Kyoya was sitting at one of the tables by himself while Y/n, Haruhi, Honey, and the twins sat together, Mori standing behind the chair his cousin was sitting on.
"A job, huh?" Kaoru hummed.
"I don't get it. You two turned down our invitation to Bali for this?" Hikaru questioned Y/n and Haruhi, peculiarly.
"And we even asked them to go with us to Switzerland didn't we?" Honey piped in.
"We did." Mori confirmed.
"We don't have a passport, remember?" Y/n reminded, shrugging her shoulders to a slight extent.
"Which is precisely why I recommended one of our domestic resorts. And at a discount no less." Kyoya evoked knowingly.
"Why were your cellphones-" Hikaru propped up an index finger as his eyebrows knitted together, a certain blond haired male abandoning a bush as he was now on his hands and knees, discouraged and feeling betrayed.
"-turned off?" Kaoru finished his brother's question, his chin resting on the palm of his hand.
"I just don't think about it really." Haruhi acknowledged candidly.
"Yeah." Y/n nodded in accord.
Tamaki slowly proceeded towards the table where Y/n, Haruhi, the twins, Honey, and Mori were at.
The four first years held out their flip phone to show the blond haired male who was walking towards them. Hikaru held a blue phone while Kaoru displayed an orange one, and Haruhi showed her red cellphone. Y/n had her dark pink cellphone in her hand.
"Did you say...you both have a cellphone?" Tamaki asked infirmity, his head tilted downwards.
"We convinced them they should borrow one of ours so we could keep in touch." Hikaru informed resourcefully.
"It's part of a special friends and family plan." Kaoru specified.
"Yeah, we're in each other's top five." Hikaru added with a small airy chuckle.
"Top five?!" Tamaki exclaimed before lowering his voice, a small blush on his cheeks as he placed his index finger on his chin. "Friends and...family?" Tamaki presented a miniature, squared piece of paper to the Fujioka siblings. "But wait, I'm your daddy and buddy so I'm part of the plan too, right?"

"Senpai, whatever planet you're on, come home." Haruhi sweat dropped.
"Anyways, going back onto what I've been thinking about ever since you guys got here, what are you doing here?" Y/n brought up with folded arms.
"Exactly. We're gonna have to see you guys everyday when the new term starts." Haruhi indicated, no longer sitting on her chair while Tamaki crouched down a few feet away from the table, sulking. "Don't Y/n and I have the right to spend our summer vacation the way we want to?"
A precarious shadow casted over Kyoya's face, a faint smirk was evident on his lips as Ouran Academy's manual appeared on top of his small brown notebook. "According to the handbook, jobs are prohibited."
The two females flinched, knowing that their upperclassman had a smug expression on his face even though his back was facing their direction.
"I-is that so...?" Y/n stuttered as sweat assembled on her forehead.
"I, uh...had no idea." Haruhi notified apprehensively, sweat dropping.
"Hey, did you hear? Haruhi and Y/n went and got themselves a job without the school's permission." Hikaru whispered to Kaoru, a dark, mischievous smirk on his lips that matched his brothers.
"No way...! That's grounds for expulsion." Kaoru reported, their words not being so secretive since the two sisters heard every word the twins spoke.
"I think Karuizawa is way better than Switzerland anyway." Honey chimed in, situated on Mori's back as the tall, silent male held a Karuizawa guidebook.
Mori let out a hum in agreement with a small nod of his head.
"And overseas travel is so exhausting." Kyoya mentioned, standing next to Mori.
"Of course, you do have the right to spend your vacation as you please. But then again. Like it or not, so do we." Tamaki began calmly, making Y/n and Haruhi's eyebrow twitch tensely. "And you know, I for one find Pension Misuzu to be exceptionally charming."
"No!" Y/n and Haruhi yelled in dread, collapsing down onto their hands and knees.
Tamaki turned away from the two sisters and began to daydream about Haruhi bringing him breakfast if he stayed at the pension, stars in his eyes as his aura held burning flames.
Y/n and Haruhi redeemed themselves as they got to their feet, staring at their blond haired upperclassman weirdly.
"Uh, Tamaki-Senpai?" Y/n sweat dropped.
Haruhi nonchalantly waved her hand. "Hello?"
- - - -
"I'm so sorry, boys. I'd love to have all of you as guests, but I'm afraid there's only one vacant room left." Misuzu claimed disappointedly.
"Only one room, you say." Tamaki began collectively. "Well, that settles it." He points at himself with his thumb. "I'll have to stay here to represent the club."
"Hey! That isn't fair." Honey disapproved, his eyes grew in size as tears formed in his outer corners.
"Have you no feeling of loyalty? Of any solidarity, boss?" Hikaru started, him and his brother positioned on the grass.
"Togetherness is our guiding principle." Kaoru prompted.
The twins grinned mischievously at one another as Tamaki remained speechless.
"My own words twisted and thrown right back in my face." Tamaki stared down at his hands as he lightly trembled.
"Here's an idea." Hikaru proposed, one of his hands held up in a shrug while his other arm was around his brother's shoulders, Kaoru copied his brother's posture. "We bet you'll like it. Why not hold a little competition?"
"Call it 'the guest relations odd-jobs contest at Pension Misuzu'." Kaoru stated, making Tamaki perk up.
"It's very simple." Hikaru assured, his back leaning against his brothers. "We all just lend a hand around the place for the afternoon."
"And whoever makes the best impression on Misuzu-chi gets to sleep in the vacant guest bedroom." Kaoru described, smoothly.
Misuzu's eyes sparkled as he brought his hands together. "That's brilliant! I think it's an absolutely delightful idea! Yes. The winner of the contest will be determined by how refreshing they are. Remember: refreshing is the name of the game in guest-relations!"
"Refreshing! Refreshing! Yay!" The twins cheered, moving their arms up and down.
'Oh god, someone put me out of my misery. All I wanted was a nice break without these idiots around.' Y/n thought, her shoulders slouching as she faced away from the group, standing beside her sister.
"Now." The mustard-brown haired man pointed his finger at the hosts and winked. "Don't think this is going to be a walk in the park. 'Cause I'm planning on working you boys to the bone!"
Haruhi released a small grumble and Y/n placed her hand on her sister's shoulder.
"Sounds like a blast." Haruhi uttered sarcastically.
And so...the game begins.
- - - -
Y/n and Haruhi caught sight of the twins greeting two young women who entered the pension.
"Welcome!" Hikaru and Kaoru grinned with an invigorating laugh.
"We-We have reservations made for a second-floor bedroom." The one with short brown hair responded with a small blush, the two females smiling at the twins' presence.
"Yes, of course. Right this way, ladies." Hikaru vocalized as he and Kaoru led the two girls up the stairs and to their reserved bedroom.
"We've been expecting you. Although, we weren't expecting you to be so young and pretty." Kaoru endorsed.
"Fine, fine." Misuzu mumbled to himself with a small nod, his finger hovering over his chin. "Not exactly subtle, but they do get the job done. So, five refresher points for them." He directed his attention to a pair of footsteps, a miniature, kindhearted smile on his lips as he noticed Mori. "Ah-ha, Mori. The legs on this table are wobbly. Would you be a dear and fix it out back please?"
Mori picked up the small, wooden, circular table. "Sure thing."
Misuzu let out an ecstatic hum as Mori walked away. "Nothing wasted in word or deed! Five refresher points!"
Y/n and Haruhi slide up in front of Misuzu. "So what's a refresher point?" Haruhi inquired.
Misuzu let out a chuckle. "Haruhi, Y/n." He turned his back towards them with a faint smirk on his lips. "What do you think guests are after when they come all the way out for vacation in Karuizawa?"
"Uhm, the weather? A relaxing day at the beach?" Y/n reckoned, her head slightly tilting to the side.
"Oh, it's much more than that." Misuzu began with a small smile, glancing back at the two sisters. "They come for what they can't get in the city--refreshing air, refreshing scenery, and refreshingly gorgeous young men! And now, thanks to your friends and their little contest, my pension will earn a reputation for being the premiere hotspot for vacationers in search of the finest eye candy Karuizawa can offer!"
The Fujioka sisters sweat dropped at Misuzu's scheme and at his sudden teleportation to the roof. "Okay. Sounds like you have a plan. And it's uncanny how much you remind me of someone else I know." Haruhi confounded blankly.
'Renge...' Y/n pondered as she slowly shook her head.
Y/n emitted a sigh as she followed her sister outside. She looked up at the blue sky before turning her head to the right--seeing Kyoya sitting at a table drinking tea. The two of them made eye contact with one another for a second before Y/n looked away.
'It feels like Haruhi and I always bring the Host Club wherever we go... And I don't know if I should take that as a good thing or a bad thing, but it's mostly weighing on the bad side.' Y/n thought, staring down at the green grass below her.
The two sisters commenced towards the second year who had brownish-grey eyes. He was away from everyone else and the two sisters were curious as to why.
"Kyoya-Senpai. You're keeping your distance from all this." Haruhi commented once she and her sister were near the table he was sitting at which was on a patio.
"Of course. Winning means I'd end up staying here alone, which frankly doesn't appeal to me." Kyoya apprised. "I'll just sit back and watch things unfold, then head for the cottage."
"Cottage? What cottage?" Y/n examined, her eyebrows vaguely furrowing.
"My family's cottage." Kyoya answered. "We all have one in the area."
'Then why are they doing this stupid competition of who gets to stay here?' Y/n speculated with squinted brown eyes.
"So who's your favorite to win? There must be someone you two have in mind. Do you care to bet?" Kyoya questioned with a minor amused smile.
"No thanks." The two sisters rejected politely.
"I don't have a clue." Haruhi continued.
"Me neither. I honestly don't care who gets to stay or not." Y/n asserted, sincerely.
Kyoya hummed, the knuckles of his fingers hovering over his chin, his amused smirk still attached on his lips. "Really? It's easy enough to tell at a glance. Honey-Senpai's brand of cute doesn't quite fit Misuzu's notion of refreshing. So I'm afraid he's out. Tamaki comes a little closer to the ideal, provided he keeps his mouth shut. But the three of us know the likelihood of that. Ordinarily you'd figure Hikaru and Kaoru. Then again, seems we have a dark horse." He observed with his elbows propped on the table, using the back of his hands to rest his chin.
Y/n and Haruhi looked over at Mori who was chopping up some wood--revealing his slightly toned upper body due to him being shirtless. Two girls that were inside the pension were gawking at him through the window.
'I mean, it's understandable that Mori-Senpai might win since he's practically eye candy to everyone. He works pretty hard and he does have a great body- hold up, that was weird to even think about!' Y/n thought frantically and she shook her head to get that observation out of her mind, not noticing the raven haired male wearing glasses glimpsing at her.
Misuzu suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his hands pressed against his cheeks. "That's twenty more refresher points to Mori!"
"So then you think he's the one?" Haruhi questioned, referring to the tall, dark haired young man.
"Except that if Honey-Senpai drops out, Mori-Senpai is bound to go along with him." Kyoya determined, staring at Mori. "His competing in the game at all is more or less conditional to that."
"Which means." A familiar voice began.
Kyoya, Y/n, and Haruhi glanced over towards the side to where the voice came from. The Hitachiin twins stood beside one another as they stared off into the distance with satisfaction in their amber colored eyes.
"Victory will be ours." Kaoru dictated after his brother.
"Well maybe not." Haruhi denied. "I couldn't help but notice that the only room still available is a single bed, so if you did win you couldn't both stay." She finalized, causing Y/n to hum and nod in agreement.
"No big deal. We can just bring another bed over from the cottage." Hikaru reasoned, directing his eyes towards the Fujioka siblings.
"Yeah--or we could even squeeze into the single." Kaoru added.
Y/n's lips formed into a soft smile. "That's pretty sweet."
"I guess you guys really are always together, huh?" Haruhi further started with the same smile Y/n had.
"Always." Kaoru expressed softly.
"The two of us have been together since we were born, so we haven't ever needed anybody else." Hikaru divulged.
"We never bothered making other friends until a few years ago. We thought the world was made up of idiots."
"Ouch." Y/n muttered playfully at Kaoru's words.
"Oh really?" Haruhi asked, holding back a small chuckle.
