《Poison Physician Consort (1)》Chapter 15: Strange Poison Array

Just as Bai Luochu felt that her spiritual energy couldn't resist the pressure coming from Pei Qingfeng and was about to collapse, she finally found the source of the sickness deep inside his meridians.
Inside his body! How could there be something so sinister hidden deep in his body?!
Bai Luochu might be an evil dao witch in her previous life. However, as for those extremely vicious and sinister things in the world, she only read about them in the temple's library. Those orthodox sects who flaunted themselves as righteous would never use such methods to harm people. Even the disciples of the temple who were known as evil dao practitioners wouldn't commit such outrageous acts.
Seeing the change in Bai Luochu's expression, Pei Qingfeng was startled and felt extreme astonishment in his heart. Did she see something?! In the entire Cloud Water Nation, the number of individuals who could see the root of the problem could probably be counted on one hand.
Right at this moment, Bai Luochu said something and confirmed Pei Qingfeng's suspicion.
"Can you tell me, how did this thing..."
"You saw it?" Pei Qingfeng spoke indifferently. It was as though he wasn't the one who was sick.
"I didn't think you could actually see it. You are truly extraordinary. This thing has been inside my body for a very long time... so long that I have already forgotten about it." Pei Qingfeng still had that indifferent look plastered on his face. After staying silent for a moment, he chuckled, "Can you cure me?"
Even though Pei Qingfeng was inquiring about treatment, it was clear from his tone and expression that he wasn't optimistic about her reply.
Bai Luochu knitted her brows and didn't reply. If the thing inside Pei Qingfeng's body was some sort of illness, it would be much easier for her to cure him. Too bad it was far from an illness. It was an extremely vicious and sinister poison array.

A moment ago, just as Bai Luochu was about to give up, she noticed some extremely strange runes in his body.
In the beginning, Bai Luochu didn't understand the meaning of the runes. As she continued to observe the runes, purple thunder burst out from them. When the purple thunder emerged, it made a complete cycle around the meridians before returning. An astounding amount of spirit qi was absorbed from Pei Qingfeng's body.
When the purple thunder appeared, Bai Luochu felt that it was a familiar scene. However, she wasn't able to make the connection and only after the purple thunder returned to the runes did the memory deep in Bai Luochu's mind resurface.
Poison Fire Heaven Thunder Array!
Bai Luochu had seen such an array in her previous life and it was when she was browsing the library in the temple. Due to the viciousness of the array, it was labelled as a forbidden array by the Patriarch. Once, there was someone who tried to secretly learn the poison array but his actions were discovered. His cultivation was crippled and he was driven out of the temple.
The only ones who could access this array were the Patriarch and the inner temple disciples. Furthermore, they weren't given access to the poison array itself but the neutralization method instead. It was their contingency plan in case any disciple secretly learned the array to bring harm to people. If such a thing really happened and no one in the temple could neutralize it, they would be sinners.
The array was vicious as it wasn't a simply poison array. Normal poison arrays would be created by various poison herbs and plants. The worst of the regular poison arrays would only cause the victim to be inflicted with a poison curable by any good physicians.

As for this array, it was a different case altogether. The Heavenly Thunder was imbued into the runes and were sealed and concealed inside the meridians. When the victim's cultivation was below a certain level, the thunder running through the meridians would be mild and the pain the individual suffered wouldn't be excruciating. The spirit qi the Heavenly Thunder absorbed wouldn't be too exaggerated. It would cause the victim to think that it was the side effects of their rapidly increasing cultivation.
When the victim of this poison array reached a certain cultivation realm, the thunder would become extremely strong and it would absorb more spirit qi from the victim's body. By the time the cultivator noticed that something was wrong, it would already be too late. The poison array would already have taken root in their body.
There was something even more shocking in the book about the effects of the array.
Apart from releasing thunder to absorb the host's spirit qi, the runes were also a kind of spatial access allowing the thunder to bring the spirit qi to the caster.
Bai Luochu didn't know what to say for a moment. What should she say? Should she say that his body had an extremely vicious poison array and if he wanted to neutralize it, it would take a very long time? Or should she say that the poison array inside his body was probably inflicted by someone close to him, bringing the sickly prince even more frustration and sorrow?
The true question was Pei Qingfeng's understanding of the array.
Without thinking too much about it, Bai Luochu blatantly asked, "What do you understand about the poison array in your body?"
"I know enough. Can you treat it?" Pei Qingfeng smiled and didn't seem to be in a hurry at all.
Looking at Pei Qingfeng's appearance, Bai Luochu's respect for the man grew to the next level. His wisdom was truly extraordinary.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.

Binary Progression: Torrented Edition
This was ment to be the self-published 'real' book of Binary Progression; turns out there isn't much of a market for this kind of story... that and it sucked! As such I am writing another (more successful) series but this was just laying about my book folder so I'm posting it here, please forget the fact I said it sucked, pretty please. JohnWillStab is the poorly-named shut-in on a quest to get into MMOs after a failed online career backfired leaving him uninterested in his speciality, strategy games. He discovers an old, abandoned game with an active, albeit very eccentric, community of no more than five-hundred players on a single server maintained by an unknown individual. Unbeknownst to him, the game he found is more than just an ordinary WoW clone and after many adventures with his group, they make the terrifying discovery that after two full volumes this story becomes a god damn isekai. What’s worse, JohnWillStab, the number-one edgelord on the server is somehow ending up in positions of power despite literally being an undead rogue with evil magic tentacles! Will John’s edginess ruin the isekai? Why does the doctor have the highest kill-count in the game? Is 👑 really a valid character you could use for your username? Can the chef perform an exorcism? Why is God asking John for chicken nuggets? Really, he could just spawn them in - in fact, we saw him spawning food in before!

Again
Most villains, no matter how terrifying, are defeated by a hero on the first try. The hero may be forced to flee or otherwise delay the real confrontation, but it’s still certain that he will win when it occurs. But some villains simply defeat all comers. Against an opponent like that, the only options are to give up or to try again. --- This story is a participant of the WriTEr's pledge. In short, I promise to finish it, and may I be Hall of Shamed if I don't.

The Arcane Prince
Book 1 is complete and fully posted here on RoyalRoad. The story is on break as I work on Book 2, which will be posted once I have finished writing it. Max is a twelve-year-old boy from the slums who dreams of seeing the world, learning magic, and adventure. On the same day that Max learns his first spell, he meets Colt, a noble-born lad on his own path to power. Colt is kind. Oblivious to the world, but kind. By his grace, Max begins to learn under Colt's instructor, even hunting monsters in the forests to the north. Max is talented and grows in power quickly, but as he prepares for the first of his adventures, the kingdom faces the greatest threat in centuries. Posting Schedule: Every 3 days until the end of Book 1 (Chapter 45). IMPORTANT NOTES: 1) This is a story about an OP boy doing OP boy things. By the end of Book 1, there will be few fights that he struggles with, and he will rarely, if ever, find his life in peril. 2) This is a slice-of-life and adventure story, which means that there will be periods of chapters without any action or conflict, but also periods of chapters with battles and exploration/adventure (the latter mostly being Book 2+). 3) There will be NO petty squabbles or conflicts going on in this story, because it is meant to be a fun one, not a high-tension, drama-filled story. So it will NOT be that. If you want lots of action or lots of conflict, then find another story to read because this isn't it. 4) There will never be an overarching evil/villain/conflict to deal with in this story past Book 1. Ever. 5) Book 1 is entirely written and can be considered a standalone story on its own. Right now, the story may last 2-3 books, or it may last 7-10 books. It is guaranteed to make it through Book 2 or 3, and if I decide to go with the bigger journey I have planned after that, then it will be longer. There will be a several-month wait between Book 1 and Book 2. 6) The story contains the sexual content tag, but it will not contain any unless Max and his future boyfriend reach 18+ years of age in-story. If I decide to bring the story to a conclusion with Book 2 or 3, or they never reach that age in the full story for the long journey, then I will remove the tag. 7) There are currently absolutely no plans to make this story into a harem if I write the extended story. If I write the extended story and decide at some point to make it one, then I will add the appropriate tag and inform readers of this decision. However, there are currently zero plans to make it one. 8) This story takes place in its own story universe, with its own rules. Please keep that in mind when reading it and other stories.
