AN: Holy cow! This has to be the quickest chapter I have ever written!! Like no joke, not counting breaks in between and the time it takes to edit, this chappie took me about 6 hours to write! And I think that it's because I've had this chapter planned out ever since Cathy and Yusei's duel in the fortune cup. I really enjoyed writing this chapter, cause I had way too much fun my characters have angst! I think I'm just evil lol!!
But OMG there is a HUGE reveal and major stuff that happen in this chapter! I am so excited to know what your guy's reactions are going to be!! Please let me know lol! But even so, I hope you all like it and please vote, comment, and enjoy! Thank you for reading!! Remember, I don't own Yugioh 5Ds, just the OCs! Also italics are card names and is Void speaking! There is also a POV switch near the end of the chapter, I know those can be annoying, but it was unavoidable.
Enjoy~.
Last time on Yugioh 5Ds Lost Memories!! Now that Yusei, the other Signers and I are back in Satellite, we had to go see Martha to make sure her, the kids and the others were safe! Yet when we got there, she told us that Crow, Rally and the others had left and when that strange fog rolled up in Satellite, they just disappeared! It luckily didn't reach her, Blister, and the kids so they were all safe. After a much needed pep talk before we head off to take out these Dark Signers, we decided to eat first since we cant save the world on an empty stomach! When we finished making our meal, not even after the first bite, the Dark Signer Roman just shows on up! Challenging Yusei to a duel! I stayed behind at the house to stay safe since Roman seemed to know about my powers. Yet when Martha tells me that Itsuki, Taka, and a couple of the other kids ran off, we knew where they had to have gone! We had to get to the Spider Hieroglyph where Yusei was dueling Roman before the kids get hurt! I don't think I can handle losing anyone else!!
My feet ran as fast as they could. Taking me towards where I knew danger was, but I didn't care. I had to get there as fast as possible. 'Itsuki, you better be safe cause I am so grounding you when I find you!' My thoughts kept repeating.
I kept a quick pace, faster than the Sector Security Officer and my foster mother who were trailing behind me. We just knew those troublemakers came this way to the duel. Were they not listening and saw how dangerous that Dark Signer Roman was?!
As we got closer to where the duel between Yusei and Roman was happening, I could feel in my heart and chest that getting closer to this dark duel, there was something going on with my powers. It felt like a connection and an irritation inside.
I nodded my head, feeling what he meant within me. Like a compression inside me holding it all together. It wasn't a harmful pressure like I have felt before, but more of a containing feeling.
'Alright Void,' I answered back in my head, 'thank you. We'll just grab them quick and get out of here before that Dark Signer can even think about summoning his Earthbound Immortal.'
It was all more being said to assure myself, because I really needed it. But I remained focused on where I was running to. It was true though, we had to get them out before one was summoned! Because if we don't, then our souls will become Earthbound Immortal chow!

We were all now in the city part of Satellite, the buildings all slanted and looked as if they could collapse any minute now. The purple flames from the Spider glyph so close to us, I could feel my body instinctively tensing.
Imagining almost all of them surrounding me.
My body shook, as I stopped frozen staring at the purple flames. Breathing was becoming harder and harder to do, until it all broke when a hand was placed on my shoulder.
"What are you waiting for, kid?!" Trudge snapped me out of it, looking up at him with wide eyes, "I think I saw them go this way! Hurry!"
He was right! This was no time to let my fear consume me! I have to find the kids before it's too late!
This time I followed Martha and Trudge to let them lead me to where they think the kids went. Keeping my eyes still away from looking at the flames. Trying to keep my focus on the more important task at hand.
"Does this wall of fire ever end?" Trudge questioned, which was a valid question.
We ran for what felt like forever, till Void's voice spoke once more in my head,
I looked up to where I could feel he was directing me towards, and gasped when I thought I saw two heads full of teal and brown hair move from the window. "Up there!" I pointed out to them both as they looked at where I was talking about.
They must've caught briefly what I had spotted, Martha exclaiming, "my boys!"
We all ran into the building without a moment to lose, climbing up so many flights of stairs till we got to the level where the window I thought I saw the boys were. But no one was here!
Where were they?!
However, when we looked out the broken window, it gave us a clear view of the duel up in front. Gripping my pendant subconsciously, I stared at Yusei down there looking so serious in this important duel. He had one monster on his field that looked like it was webbed up to be in defense mode, while Roman only had a strange large altar behind him. A single flame torch out of four lit up. And something told me that those three other flames lighting up is going to mean trouble.
Spider webs surrounded the whole field, making me know that there was a field spell activated within.
"No!" Martha's cries of worries made me break my staring at the duel to see what she was concerned about, and saw that huddled up together was Jun and Mitch! So close to the purple flames of the field!!
"They're down there!" Trudge held so much panic in his voice, I didn't need to look at him to know how he felt. Cause I was feeling it too!
"They're completely in danger!! If an Earthbound Immortal is summoned, then their souls will be..."
Gritting my teeth to stop what I was saying, I had to put all my faith in Yusei right now that he'll win this duel before that scenario can even happen!
Taking a deep breath, I yelled out as loud as I could, "Yusei! You have to win! You have to win to save those kids!"
I knew that he knew that that was of the utmost importance to him I'm sure, but I had to rally behind him! His shocked face however when looking at me was not something I expected.
"Cathy no! What are you doing here?!"

My eyebrows knitted together, I know why he was a little worried for me. The Dark Signers are after my powers, but as long as I'm up here and away from the flames I'll be okay. I shook my head at him, "I'll be fine! Don't worry about me and just save the kids okay!"
"She's right, Yusei! Duel and win this, you got that? Or else you will never hear the end of it from me!" Martha shouted back with me, and I'm so happy to now know where my fiery spirit and nature came from.
Yusei and Akiza only stared at us, before the former nodded and looked back at the duel at hand. Yet even here, I could hear Roman's dark sinister voice speak.
"It seems that the little moth has been snared in my web as well. Good," he drew a card to start his turn, knowing that he was talking about me, "I was hoping she would." After he drew, a torch on the altar behind him lit up. "For now is the perfect time to activate my trap card, Offerings to the Bound Deity! Now, by dividing my life points, two more torches are lit behind me. And you know what that means."
The strange feeling I felt when Kalin faced off with Yusei returned in my chest, I knew what was happening! I could feel it! It was my power's strange connection to the Dark Signers. To their Earthbound Immortals! He's about to summon one!!
Gripping my chest, I tried to keep the feeling inside of me at bay, while groaning a little. "Cathy are you okay?!" Martha asked concerned, holding my shoulders as comfort.
I winced, but tried controlling my breathing. Tried controlling that bottle Void is also holding in. That little flame inside of me.
Nodding my head to her, we heard Roman call out summoning his Earthbound Immortal as from the ground behind him, a large bright purple beam of light erupted! The weird big thing that was the Earthbound Immortal's heart appeared in the sky pulsing, "I summon Earthbound Immortal Uru!"
A thick dark fog came towards the heart, and I couldn't hold in the pain! Negative energy swirled around the sky within that fog! It felt like it was suffocating me, all of these awful emotions I could feel! Crying in pain holding the windowsill in one hand and my chest in another, there wasn't just the fog's negative energy I was feeling!!
"Cathy!"
"Hey pull yourself together!"
I ignored both of them, yelling out, "the kids!!"
We all looked to where I was talking about, where Jun and Mitch held each other. Screaming in pain as their souls were being ripped from their bodies to feed that Immortal!!
"No!! Jun! Mitch!" Martha cried in anguish, watching her kids in pain and we couldn't get to them!
We all watched in horror as their souls kept getting pulled, until all of a sudden the sound of a duel runner came blazing through our ears! Jack emerged quickly soaring through the skies on his white duel runner, "hang on! Cause Jack Atlas is here to save the day!"
It made me honestly smile assured through the pain in me. I can't believe how happy I am to see him.
"Jack! Please help my boys!!" Martha called out to him as he made his appearance.
He gave a cocky smile, "don't you worry, I would never let any of my small adoring fans down."
I wanted to give a snarky remark back, but was more relieved when he rode straight through the tall fire and landed on the ground. He immediately stopped his runner and ran to the kids just in time to hold them before their souls left. I sighed out the breath I was holding as his Crimson Signer mark glowed brighter into a protective bubble around him and the kids.
"That was close!" Trudge spoke just as relieved as we were.
"Thank you Jack."
It felt like a little pressure was relieved from my chest, allowing me to stand back up straight. But Roman's sinister laugh didn't let us enjoy any peace for even a second though. "You think saving a couple of kids is going to make a difference? Well think again! Come forth my beast!! Come lay waste to this pathetic signer and his friends!!"
Soon the ground shook as the heart bursted with the light getting brighter, till it blinded us all! Yet with this earthquake happening, mine, Martha, and Trudge's only concern was keeping balanced all the way up here! On the high floor of this building! Which now at this point, was a bad idea!!
"Hang on!" Trudge cried as he held us both like the protective officer he was.
"Yeah no kidding!!" I exclaimed right back while holding Martha to keep her safe.
Even if the building shook violently, I peeked my eyes over to see coming up from the ground, an enormous black and red spider crawled out!! Shrieking loudly at having emerged from the depths of where it came!
'That spider is going to need a lot of bug spray to take it down!'
"It doesn't matter how big that spider is, it's going down!" Yusei proclaimed determined.
Roman though hummed in thought, a sly smirk coming across his face. "Are you sure you want that Yusei? After all, Uru and all the other Earthbound Immortals were able to be here because of your father's final acts before he died."
"What? What are you talking about?!"
Yeah what was he saying?! Yusei's dad may have been the head researcher for the Ener-D reactor, but he wouldn't have caused these things to be released that could destroy the world!!
"I'm talking about how your dad was the one who freed them from their prison!! He designed the original Ener-D reactor, and he didn't care about any of the safety precautions."
"You're wrong! My father was a good man!!"
I bit my lip though... I don't doubt Yusei and his trust in his father... even if he doesn't remember him, but after finding out myself the possible secrets my own family history and connections have. There are some things about the past we can't know a hundred percent about.
"You may think I'm lying, but I assure you, I am not," Roman claimed, all serious now, "for I was there when it all happened 17 years ago. I was working for your father as his assistant."
'Wait, what?!' I gasped listening to this Dark Signer speak.
"And it wasn't just me who was your father's assistant, there was someone else you all know. My own brother, Rex Goodwin."
"Holy-!!" I covered my mouth before the curse words slipped out! Is he serious!! Goodwin! The creepy long haired dude who is so mysterious and strange, is his brother?!
Okay yeah, I can see the family resemblance now.
"When my brother and I worked for your father, there were some concerns that if the reactor spun reverse then terrible things would happen, but your father was so sure that it would be a success. Not even realizing that when I got to take the reins on the project, I made sure it would go the way I wanted it to go. The explosion then happened, and chaotic dark negative energy and power erupted, just like I had hoped."
Yusei and Akiza gasped, while Jack looked angry, and I don't blame him! That means Roman was the cause of all of this! Everything! The reactor exploding, Satellite breaking away, and this war happening in the first place!!
"But why? Why would you do something like that Roman?!" Yusei asked the million dollar question we all were thinking.
"'Why' you ask? Because I felt it. Felt even a tiny amount of what that power can do! And your beloved Catarina knows what that feeling is like."
I took a step back!! My head was pounding immensely when he said that name! My name!!
Covering my mouth harder, I stared at him with terror in my stomach! I could feel Akiza's eyes on me as she was the only one who knew of my birth name after I found out.
"What do you mean-" Yusei's words stopped when Roman looked over to where I stood, our eyes connecting. Now Yusei and everyone else are staring at me. Now they all knew... everyone knew my birth name... we now all know of the connection I have with the Dark Signers... it was within the Ener-D reactor. "Cathy...?"
"Your little 'Cathy', as you call her, has that same chaotic power within her. A similar power that was released from the Ener-D reactor! She knows that feeling inside of her, and the feeling of wanting to release it. I only felt a fraction of it, but imagine the amount she holds within her could do!" He spoke almost excitedly at the idea of using my own powers to help his evil needs. I wanted to just get away from his disgusting stare that made me even more fearful.
I felt Martha and Trudge get closer to me, understanding and hearing the situation right here and now.
Yusei turned his head back to Roman, a look I thought I would never see on his usual calm serious face. It was anger. Seething rage at this Dark Signer's idea. "I won't let you get anywhere near her, Roman!!" He told, readying his duel disk.
Roman looked back at him with a chuckle, "we'll see about that after this duel, Yusei. The end is coming near anyways! Uru attack his life points directly!! Show this signer what you're capable of!"
"Yusei!" I gasped as the giant spider screeched with its many red eyes glowing, before it shot out from its mouth a large amount of spider webs! Directly towards Yusei!!
"Sorry but that's not going to work! I play my trap card, Iron Resolve!" Yusei's face down trap card flipped up! A shining red glow emitted around Yusei before a bubble shield like the one that forms from his Signer Mark protected him, "with this, by cutting my life points in half, I can stick around for another turn."
The web that shot out to him got deflected and then redirected towards the building that we were in! Shaking it a little, we held on! I wanted to say watch where he directs that thing, but I'm just glad that Yusei is okay and safe for now.
"Impressive. I place one card face down, but you should be careful of what you do, Yusei. For you may have protected yourself from the real damage, but your friends are not." Roman sneered, where just as he said that, the building began tilt slightly!
I screamed, holding on to the window as tight as I could, shutting my eyes! Martha held on to me while she cried, "we have to get out of here!"
Her hand nearly slipped off of me, falling at the shaking building! I quickly tried to grab her but Trudge grabbed her first. "Don't worry Martha, I got you."
"Thank you..." She held his arms nodding.
"What about Taka and Itsuki?" I asked, remembering why we came all the way up this building in the first place! Where were the other two boys?!
It seemed like fate had heard my question as coming from above us with the building shaking, we all heard two boys scream and cry! I immediately recognized one voice from there!
"Itsuki!!" I yelled running from the windowsill and up the stairs to the rooftop!
Martha and Trudge followed me where the entrance to the roof led. We walked out to see Taka holding on tightly to the edge of the roof and Itsuki was right next to him, holding his arms and holding the ground to keep them from falling off the edge.
"Taka! Itsuki!" Martha and I both called out to them.
They looked up to see us, terror so clear around them in their eyes! Itsuki had tears pooling in his. "Cathy! Help us please!!"
"Martha! I'm scared!"
"Hang on! I'm coming!!" Martha took off first, walking down the slanted part of the building. Using the wall of the entrance we came out of to stabilize herself.
I followed after her, knowing she couldn't pull both kids back here by herself. "What are you two-?! Wait!!"
"Martha, Cathy no!" I heard Yusei cry out to us, with worry in his voice.
"Get back you two!" Jack cautioned us as well.
But we didn't listen, as Martha went to the two kids on the roof. I stayed close to the wall still, holding onto it to keep balanced.
Martha knelt next to Taka and Itsuki, holding both boys close. "We're so sorry!" Itsuki cried holding on to her.
"We wanted to help Yusei take down the bad guy..." Taka remorsefully told her.
Martha smiled even if the building still trembled, but she wanted to assure them that it would all be okay. "I know you both did. But let's get on the ground and help him out there. Okay?"
Both children nodded, while I held out my hand, "grab on and I'll pull you guys up here!"
They all looked at me, and Martha guided the kids to crawl and go first in front of her up the building. Taka took my hand first, and I helped maneuver him past me towards Trudge who got closer to us. Holding his hand out, Taka took it and pulled up to safety.
I turned back to take Itsuki's hand next while Martha helped him to me. I didn't get to bring him to Trudge as all Itsuki did when he got close to me was hug my waist as tight as he could. Burying his face in my stomach like his life depended on it, which I'm sure he felt like it did. "I'm sorry Cathy! I'm so sorry!! I knew how much p- pressure you and Yusei had on this battle, I j- just wanted to keep you s- safe! I didn't want them t- to take you away from us again!!"

8 197Zeke Herald, Goblin Slayer
Zeke wakes up inside a small cavemouth, no memories or direction, just the will to live. Also, he's smack dab in the middle of a forest that's teeming with ugly little goblins. The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.

8 202Branch Adventurers Guild [Dropped]
My life is but a code waiting to be decoded. With numbers and letters, I will protect earth with my creation...I will tame those that wish to oppose me, destroy those that hurt my family and erase anyone who angers me! - Dropped due to losing interest in this novel, I added too many things without any substance to support it. Might update in the future but from now, I will work on a new novel.
8 136Beyond the Legacy
The protagonist wakes up in a plain of slimes. Determined to make it worth his while, he explores the world he is in. . A.N.: I'm going for Attila the Hun(minus his campaigns). Wish me luck! This is a literature RPG, aimed at action, lore, and everything else. The plot is a work in progress and aims at being of proper quality. The details will build up to that effect.
