《Yugioh 5Ds: Lost Memories》Saying 'See you Later' to Good People. Understanding an Old Friend's Strife!

Holy potatoes I am so so so sorry that I haven't been updating a lot lately!! I know that considering this year we're all having to stay at home, it would be the best time to update lol! Though I still got schooling and I'm focusing on my art a lot, plus I found a new way to write and plan my stories! It's a little tedious, but I think it helps a lot. I take notes on pen and paper of what I want the chapter to have and the scenes, then type that out and change some things here and there. That way I got it all planned out and can refer to my notes easier! If that makes sense
Oh and before I forget and get to the disclaimer, some quick and small announcements and changes! When the book is done I will be going back and making these edits official. Also gonna be editing the cringier parts too when its done ^^'
. I am changing how long Cathy disappeared from Satellite!! I always felt like 2 months wasn't that long especially since Jack is supposed to still be in Satellite when she disappeared and then go to New Domino City becoming a famous Turbo Duelist. So I'm having it Cathy almost a year. I know it's a very long time and I think long enough for Jack to be established in New Domino City and for Yusei and Crow to sit in not knowing where she was. She also turned 16 when she was gone and was "asleep" for most of that time waking up the week Yusei came to New Domino City.
. I'm changing Sakura's age to 20. I just felt like she should be a little older and am gonna assume Tanner is 21 to 22. I just want them closer in age plus I though 18 was a little too young for how she acts lol! I was thinking of changing Cathy's age to 17 but nah, I'm keeping her at 16! She'll be 17 close to 18 in the next book
. I will be making a Q&A!! Since this book is more then halfway done I wanted to let you all know! You can either ask questions when I make the "Questions" chapter in a few more chapters, or wait till after I finish the book since maybe your questions will be answered in story by then!
Yup so those are the announcements and changes! Keep also a look out for a Cathy Bio chapter with a list of all her cards too for her deck! Anywho, I've kept you all from the new chappie long enough!! Hope you enjoy! It's not that big but I felt like this one was to mellow out before some big chapters coming out!! Remember I don't own Yugioh 5Ds, just this story, Cathy, and Sakura!! Hope you all enjoy, vote, and/ or comment!! Love you all!!
Last time on Yugioh 5Ds Lost Memories!! I just found out that Liquid, the boy who I met after I lost my memories, and was almost like my first friend in a new life, had died from the Arcadia Movement collapsing. It hurts. I probably could've helped or even saved him if I stayed there... But the voice in my head, that makes me sound like I've gone insane, told me that it wasn't my fault. No, its not. It was those Dark Signers fault. And I want to make them hurt. But I first had to help Yusei help Akiza! She was losing her grip on her powers and we had to help her realize we were here for her like her father she was getting the brunt of her powers . And even though she definitely wasn't happy to see me either, we all tried our best to get to her. Eventually she gained control to her powers, enabling Yusei to end the duel and the curse 0f the Black Rose. I feel bad that Akiza went through that pain I was also feeling cause of a major loss... But I hope she knows that we're here for her and will always help her.

Everything seemed like it had gone back to normal except for still the debris of glass and bashed walls due to Akiza's powers going out of hand in her room. Speaking of the burgundy haired signer, she had passed out in her father's arms as I watched him be kneeled next to her with concern and worry. But there was also a small hint of joy and relief.
Just as Akiza was coming to at hearing her dad's voice call out to her then hug her happily, I felt a hand back on my shoulder. Turning I saw Yusei right next to me again. I really must've looked like a million bucks! My eyes probably puffy and red from all the crying I did earlier, little cuts and slices on my body from those petals, and could feel my hair all over the place on my head!
Yes, I am so ready for the red carpet!
"Are you okay?" He asked me breaking my bad joke in my head. Looking at his face I could see two tiny scrapes on his face. One on his cheek right on top of his security mark and the other right under his right eye. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for his leathered jacked and thick clothing he would probably have more.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that." I said to lighten the mood. I brought my hand up to point at the scape on his cheek.
But it seemed his eyes got softer, and saying almost in a quieter tone, "that's not what I meant..."
It caused me to freeze mid motion with my eyes widening a fraction realizing what he meant. Liquid...
I looked down at our feet finding them more interesting . Bringing my hand down to a clenched fist at my side, I could feel my nails digging into my palms. Shoot I knew the water works were beginning to rise up in my eyes. The pain was still there on my chest but now it just was so dull I didn't want to give it attention.
Clenching my teeth then quickly wiping my eyes, I looked up at Yusei with a forced smile nodding. "I will be." I lied and oh yeah he can definitely tell. Especially since the other day we had promised to be more open about goes on in our minds... "I'll talk to you about it later..." I mumbled to assure him we will talk. For now I really didn't want to break down again, especially in front of him.
But right now I looked back at Akiza and went over to her where she was still talking to Mr Izinski. "Are sure you and mom want me back? I hurt you both and just now I nearly..."
Just as she looked past her father, her eyes locked onto mind and I could no longer read her emotions. I began walking over to them where I could hear Yusei's footsteps following me right behind mine.
"Akiza," Yusei began before I could, "your dad says he wants you home and we all want you back, safe and happy. You have to make choices for yourself and what you think is right. And I hope you choose to stay here and help us and your family."
I know that she took his words wholeheartedly by the smile she gave us and then to her dad taking his hand that was on her shoulder, "my place is here. With you guys."
I grinned happily now hearing those words that she will help and stay by our side. I could even hear Luna and Leo cheering behind me before I looked back to see them running towards us. They stopped right next to me as Leo cheered, "I knew it! The marks are all connecting us together! Even though mine hasn't appeared just yet, and Cathy is more of our cheerleader."

"Hey! Who's the cheerleader to whom here?!" I huffed crossing my arms and glaring playful daggers at the small boy who chuckled nervously trying to whistle and avoid my icy stare. Smirking, I wrapped my arm around his neck gently and began messing with his hair, "you gonna apologize for that?!"
We were both laughing with Luna giggling at watching us. He tried struggling against me saying, "okay okay you're not a cheerleader, I'm sorry!" Pausing my head rubs and loosening my grip so he could look up at me, he grinned adding, "You're our mascot."
Oh ho ho ho that just made me give him a good old fashioned head noogie lightly. "Alright! Now you have to pay!"
After about 15 more seconds, he finally caved and said uncle making me release him so he could fix his hair as Yusei began talking again. "Leo is right though."
Quickly turning to look at him straight in the eyes unamused slightly glaring, silently telling him, 'you better not be calling me a cheerleader or mascot.'
He looked at me knowing what I was thinking and cleared his throat, "not that. But about these marks." I watched as he rolled up his sleeve and moved his glove to show the red dragon mark on his arm. "These marks connect us all and brought us together to make us all become friends. We all wouldn't be together if it wasn't for them and we will stay together."
Looking back at Akiza, I watched her look away with a sad look in her eyes. Something I knew all too familiar and recent. "Thanks Yusei... But I had an important friend who said he would stay with me. I had friends who..." She couldn't finish her sentence yet the twinge in my heart knew who she was referring to.
Not just... Sayer... But I left too.
"Akiza..." I began, making her watch me as I went to her other side on the floor and sat beside her. I cautiously knelt down looking at the green ribbon that was on her wrist near me. "Words can't express how sorry I am... I won't condone or even make any excuse why I left without telling you. And there's a big part of me that wishes I stayed at that place..." I told her truthfully. Even if I hated the Arcadia Movement and Swoops- I mean Sayer... There were people there who needed me.
Who I could've helped and saved.
"I lost someone too... At the Arcadia Movement falling... We may not have known each other long, but he was important to me too. A friend I had made when I didn't even remember who I was or what my life was like before. Someone who was there for me when I didn't think I had anyone." I explained biting the side of my lip to try and stop myself from crying. I looked over to the entrance of the hospital room to see Okita there as he looked down and wiped his eyes from under his glasses.
"It's a pain that hurts so much that it almost feels like your suffocating. It's so bad and I don't know if we will ever be okay again..." My voice cracked as I tried to keep my composure. Through misty eyes I looked at Akiza as her's was also glossy. "But you're not hurting alone. They would both want us to fight for them."
'To avenge them in anyway.' I thought gripping my hands again on the ground trying to control the anger.
"Cathy is right Akiza." We both looked over to Yusei when he spoke too. "We all lose someone we care about and the pain is something unimaginable. Thinking that they will have changed or that you'll never see them again."
Hearing him speak and the tone he said while looking at me, I couldn't tell if he was talking about Kalin... Or about me when I disappeared.
"But you haven't lost everyone," I added to his words looking back at Akiza. "You have Yusei and the other signer's, just like he has you and them to help pick you up. Like true friends." Glancing at the green ribbon then to my wrist with the purple one I gulped taking a deep breath. "And, if you'll let me, I would like to be on that list to help you too. I'd still like to be your friend again."
I shut my eyes waiting for her answer. The silence and tension I felt in me was almost deafening, like when there are too many negative emotions around me but it was just the anticipation. Then a hand was placed on mine making me jump a little in surprise. Akiza's right hand was on top of mine.
Looking up at her she had a kind smile and nodded. "Of course Cat- I mean, Cathy. I would like nothing more. I'll help you and Yusei defeat the Dark Signers."
I think I grinned my first big smile today, just feeling so happy and overjoyed. I had to resist the urge to hug her considering she's probably hurt from her duel and don't know if we at that level of friendship yet. "Thank you so much Akiza! And you can call me Cat if it's easier for ya." I offered chuckling. I didn't hate the nickname that much anymore when so many people had called me that.
We had a lot of catching up to do, but the moment was ruined when we heard the door to the hospital room open up. "I'm sorry for interrupting but I'm glad that you agree to help them Akiza." Looking over to it with the rest of the gang, we saw that girl that I met back at the Fortune Cup there! When Yusei went to Goodwin for some answers after his and I match!
That short blue haired girl who's wearing a business attire in a navy blue outfit. Then when she looked at Jack I could feel sparks from her eyes like with Tanner and Sakura.
I honestly don't think I got her name!
Jack looked the most confused at seeing her, asking, "Mina? What are you doing here?"
Oh that's her name!
"I'm sorry for just barging in like this, but Goodwin has recovered some footage that was from the fallen Arcadia Movement. It's something that he wants Akiza to see." What? He actually recovered some footage from that place. "It's to help prove that the founder of the movement, Sayer, had very bad intentions. I'll be waiting right here till you're ready to see."
I was even more confused by what she said. But my guess was its probably the experimentations that Señor Swoops did to Okita, Liquid and I. Yes I know he's probably dead and I should have respect for the deceased but I am still not getting over what he did to me! I will be petty to the end!!
Though this sounded that it was very important I guess. Getting up from the floor, Akiza also stood up with the help of her father. "This deserves your undivided attention, Akiza."
"But you and mom just got me back, I don't want to leave you both so soon again." She explained looking worried.
"It's alright," her father assured while Akiza's mom came over to her husband and daughter. "You have the world to save. We'll be home waiting for you to return. The front door will be open and unlocked for you when you come home."
The Izinski family hugged together and it made me happy to see them together completely and reconciled. I went over and stood next to Yusei and the twins who were also happy for Akiza.
"Cathy? Yusei?" Turning around I saw Sakura and the others coming up to us. They were all feeling awkward and I could tell nervous but there was also a feeling of determination in them.
"We wanted to say goodbye one more time before you guys focus on this Dark Signer business." Yanagi said with his hands behind his back.
I was once again pretty confused as the twins looked at me and back at them, "'goodbye'? What do ya mean?"
"Not really a formal goodbye of course. It's more of like a see you later. We have things we need to do as well though they aren't as important as what you need to get done." Okita assured.
Spikes went over to Yusei and patted his shoulder giving a smile, "plus it didn't feel right just suddenly disappearing on you guys like we don't exist."
I watched Yusei nod and give a small smile. "Alright. Thank you again you guys for all your help."
"No problem. And when you defeat the Dark Signer's, I want to face ya in a duel. Alright Yusei?" Tanner asked as they both fist bumped, then he looked at me, "I want to duel you too, Little Miss Bull Fighter."
Chuckling at that nickname he called me when we first met, I grinned and gave a thumbs up. "Deal!"
We all heard footsteps coming to us and turned to see Akiza walking towards us with her bangs back fixed in her hair curler. The nervousness of a couple of the others got more evident but they seemed to be a lot more calmer and peaceful. Though I could tell she was awkward around them as they were. "Um I'm ready..." She said nervously.
Me being me, I went to her side and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "Cool! Glad to have ya on the team!"
She smiled at me giving a small chuckle.
"We wish you good luck too as well Akiza. We know you'll defeat these Dark Signers too." Sakura said kindly and I was happy about it. I'm glad that we all can get along so far!
But looking back at my friends that I have to say bye to right now... I didn't really want to. Last time I said bye to some friends for an adventure...
Looking down I didn't want to think about it again.
"Cathy, why don't you stay back a bit and say bye to them a little longer with Luna and Leo." Yusei suggested as he was looking at me. Probably could tell something was bothering me. "Akiza and I will go see the videos."
I let go of Akiza who just nodded, and I smiled back at both of them. "Okay. Thank you."
That's when we all began to walk around the hospital to the main exit. Akiza and Yusei had left with Mina following to where she was gonna show them the recovered videos. I walked along side Okita as Leo and Luna walked and talked to Tanner, Sakura and Yanagi. Even Jack was following behind us! Guess he didn't want to be around Yusei for a bit though he did seem a little off since the last time I saw him...
"Okita, what do you plan on doing without the Arcadia Movement now?" I asked pretty curios looking at the brunette with glasses.
He fixed them up onto his nose before speaking while we walked. "Well, watching Akiza and her parents, it made me think of my family as well." That's right! I'm sure he has family out there too! Everyone in the movement probably did.
"Oh, what happened between you and them? If you don't mind me asking." I added hoping I wasn't asking something too serious and hurtful.
I watched as Okita look down a bit and give a small smile. "It was no ones fault really, but my family and I could never see eye to eye because, like all psychic duelists, we were different. They had tried their best to proceed in making a relationship but I knew they didn't understand the workings of what I can do as one. I have two brothers and three sisters, so they already had their hands full."
As I looked deep into his eyes, even behind the sheen of his glasses, I could see something being formed into his eyes. Regret, longing, and a bit of hope was there as the vision began to form. It was in first person perspective, and I'm assuming I was watching through Okita's eyes.
He was trying to peer through a corner and there were a couple of shadows coming from down a hallway that was being formed from the light of a room. It seemed like two people were the shadows and there motions made it seem like they were arguing...
Quickly turning my head away, I didn't want to hear when the vision began to make sound. This was his memory...
"I kept to myself... And didn't want to get in their way with all my siblings, so I kept to my books and dueling. But I never dueled them because I did once and that's when I knew that my abilities could cause some pain. That's when Mr Sayer met with my parents. They had contacted him cause they knew he ran an organization that was experienced with psychic duelists." I listened as he talked and while I was surprised at how many siblings he had! It made me realize why he also trusted that Movement.
We made it to the hospital exit and stopped at the front and looked at each other while he gave a small smile. "So I just left with him, no longer causing trouble to my family. Although now I want to see them again... I can't come to a conclusion what our meeting will be like, but I guess I can only hope they will want me back."
I placed a hand on Okita's shoulder looking back at him and tried to assure him a smile, "they're your family Okita, I know they will welcome you back. They probably miss you after so long I'm sure."
