《Steven Universe: The Return [FanFiction English]》77- Stroke Of Luck

*terrified* Wh-wh-what did you just do?!
The end! *laughs*
(The Diamond blast slowly approaches the planet until it collides with the atmosphere.)
[Now from Steven and Emerald's perspective in space.]
It's over, Steven! The blast has just passed through the atmosphere, it's only a little while before–
*furiously* Not if I can help it!!
(Steven turns pink and disappears from Emerald's sight in less than a second.)
*surprised* What the–?!?!
(Only a pink trail is seen flying towards Homeworld at super speed.)
*confused* Wh-what the heck just happened?! Steven literally disappeared in the blink of an eye!
(Steven flies very fast around the glow and manages to position himself in front of the diamond blast. He creates a super super gigantic shield with which he tries to reflect the blast before it spreads across the planet.)
[The glow that had previously covered all the Gems on the planet was only an illusion or mirage created at the moment of the collision of the light with the planet's atmosphere. Steven is actually trying to reflect the real diamond blast with a super giant shield, almost the same size as the planet.]
I'll save everyone, no matter what happen to me!!!
(Because of the great effort Steven is putting into trying to push the diamond blast back into space, his body grows excessively and even completely tears his jacket.)
*confused* Wh-what's going on here!?!?!
(Steven manages to slowly push the diamond blast back to Emerald, but but she quickly notices this.)
Impossible!!
(Emerald begins to push back as well.)
*struggling* Oh, gosh!!
[At the same time, in Homeworld.]
The glow that had covered us just now has disappeared.
*looking at her hands* This is strange, why didn't anything happen to us?
I have no idea. *looks down at her body, checking it* But the important thing is, we are all well... I hope.

Guys, look up at the sky!!!
Huh? *looks up at the sky* What's that?!
*looking up at the sky* Is that Steven?
What's he doing?!
I think he's trying to reflect the blast with his shield!
Connie, take this opportunity to get off the planet!
Peridot is right! We don't know what might happen from now on, so your life is still in danger.
I would never abandon you guys, and neither would Steven, even if I risk my life!
Are you sure?
Of course I am! Right now, Steven is giving his all to save us, the least I can do for him is to go and support him.
I see, if you are willing to take that risk for him, I think we should do the same.
Exactly, he alone won't be able to push back the blast of the three diamonds together.
Okay, then we've just got to fly up there and help him push back.
Yeah, we'd better hurry!
[At the same time, in another place.]
I don't understand, why didn't anything happen to us?
Most likely the light that covered us was only the refraction of a mirage.
*confused* Wait, what?!
Are you saying it was all an optical illusion?.
Indeed.
Is that even possible?
This can happen depending on the density of the light hitting the air layers.
Oh, in this case - the atmosphere.
Mm-hmm. Now please take a look at the sky.
*looks up at the sky* Eh?
*looking up at the sky* What's that?!
While we were being covered by the false light, Steven got in front of the real one with his superspeed, and with his shield he's trying to reflect it.
Unbelievable.
That was imperceptible to us, as it all happened at high speed.
Did you know this was going to happen?

Not at all. I saw a lot of bad futures, and the odds of this happening were very low. I am actually quite surprised with this turn of events, let's say it was a stroke of luck.
Well, the truth is, this whole thing sounds very... far-fetched.
And super mega convenient.
Yes, it couldn't be more absurdly convenient.
I know very well that this is convenient, absurd, improbable, ridiculous, and very stupid! But it wasn't me who wrote this crap, okay?!?!
That doesn't matter anymore! Now we've got more important things to discuss, such as how we can help Steven!
Of course, we can't let him do all the work by himself!
We must find a way to get to him as soon as possible!
Let's fly.
But we can't fly!
Even if we shape-shift, it would be too much effort for us to; on the one hand, we must help Steven to push, and on the other, hold the new shape.
That's true, our bodies wouldn't withstand being under that much pressure for long!
Then let's find Lapis and Peridot, they can help us fly.
Got it.
Sounds good to me.
All right, let's go then! *adjusts her visors* They're not far from here!

Dana and The Legend of Apollo and Daphne
She is the reincarnation of a Greek god's former lover. Did anyone bother to tell her? No... at least not until the god shows up at her door.I couldn't explain his features any way besides perfect. He was probably the most handsome man I had ever met. Something about him was familiar, as though I had known him for years. One hand still grasping mine, he moved his other into my hair, stroking softly. His warmth surrounding, his touch calmed me.I couldn't move. I could barely breathe. My mind was blank. It was like nothing I ever felt before. I was lost in his eyes, in his warmth, in the feeling that I was safe. At that moment I wished to stay forever. I also knew better than to remain here. However, my muscles went numb under the warmth of his hands. I couldn't move.I layed there him stroking my hair in shock for what in my head felt like forever. Eventually, he leaned down and spoke into my ear making my whole body shiver."My dear, I have waited for this moment for years," his voice was beautiful, strong and warm. Like the wind on a summer day. He had humor in his eyes and I found it extremely unsettling. There was something off about his tone. Almost like I was dreaming, but I knew it wasn't one. Something powerful and dangerous was in his voice... Ohhh no! This wasn't some random mortal standing over me. This.... this... this was a god...Credit to Rick Riordan for building such a wonderful world to put stories into and creating some of these amazing characters.
