C'mon, run away! The warp pad isn't that far away! I'll take care of her!
But-
Just do it!!
O-Okay.
(Pink Pearl runs towards the hallway leading to the exit and the warp pad, but then stops and looks back at Spinel with concern, so she decides to stay hidden behind a pillar.)
*flying* I won't let you get away! *charges at Spinel*
Ha!
(Spinel nimbly dodges the Fusion's attack and delivers a strong, wound-up punch into her face, sending her flying into a wall.)
*blushing, watches the fight* Whoa!
*stucked to the wall in a humanoid-shaped crater* Ah! You little...
Who's the puny gem now?!
H-H-How dare you! I-I'll get you for this!
Come at me then, bowlhead!
GRRR!! *forces herself out of the wall* Don't you provoke me!!! *charges at Spinel again, brandishing her scythe*
(Spinel, with her flexible body, easily dodges every single attack by the Fusion.)
What the-?
Hehe!
(Spinel bounces herself like a spring as she enlarges her right hand.)
Oh, no- *gets slapped into the ground by Spinel, and semi-consciously groans in pain.* Gahh!
Ha! Take that, bowlhead! *turns around* Now...
(Spinel walks over to Yellow and Blue Pearl's gemstones, picks them up and then stores into her gem.)
I'll take care of you guys later. *looks around* This place isn't safe, I have to escape too- *notices Pink Pearl hiding behind a pillar* What? Really? *runs up to her* What are you doing here?! I told you to run away!
I'm sorry, I just-
Forget it, no time! *grabs Pink Pearl's hand* Come on, let's go!!
(Spinel runs off with Pink Pearl to the hallway leading to the exit, then stops as she sees warp pad being guarded by several enemy Gems, while others are approaching.)
Dang it!

(Spinel and Pink Pearl then run back towards a pillar to hide behind it.)
Let's sneak between the pillars.
(Avoiding their notice, Spinel and Pink Pearl sneak between pillars to pillars as several enemy Gems run by.)
*shivering in fear, Spinel notices it*
Oh hey, in the end, we did end up playing tag as we had agreed... Well, not in the way we had expected, but-
Spinel, this is not a game!
...I know. But just like in the tag game, the "it" player chases the others, attempting to "tag" one of them as the others try to avoid being tagged, right? That's what we have to do, avoid being tagged, okay? Everything will be fine, so don't be afraid.
I-I'll try.
Since the warp pad is being guarded, we have no choice but to go to the escape pod room. We have to tell this to the Diamonds or to Steven.
You're right.
(Spinel and Pink Pearl continue to sneak between pillars.)
Tch. We'll never get there this way. *peeks from behind a pillar and looks around, ensuring it is safe* The coast is clear! Now, let's go!
(Spinel grabs Pink Pearl's hand and runs off with her to the escape pod room.)
*gets up from the ground slightly dazed* Aghh, wh-what happened? *notices that Spinel and Pink Pearl are running away* Not so fast!
[Meanwhile.]
(Spinel and Pink Pearl have already reached the escape pod room.)
This is it, isn't it?
Yes, this is it.
Neat, I thought we wouldn't make it.
Me too. *pulls an escape capsule out of the ground* I'll set the coordinates for Earth.
All right, now just-
(Spinel is suddenly cut off as her expression turns to dread. She looks down in horror to see a scythe impaled right through her chest.)

Sorry, but your escape attempt has been thwarted!
Spinel!!
*weakly* I-I-I've been tagged, but... I can still save... you!
(Spinel pushes Pink Pearl into the pod, closes it and activates it just as she poofs.)
SPINEL!!!
No, you won't!! *tries to stop her, but fails as pod sinks into the floor and is ejected from the palace into space*
[End of flashback. Back to the present.]
And that's how Spinel helped me escape, she- *suddenly tears up*
Calm down, calm down! *hugs her and comforts her* It's all right, it's all over now.
Who was the fusion who attacked you?
*sniffles* Her gems were a Ruby and an Aquamarine, one in her left eye and the other just below. In fact, I think I've seen her here on Earth before.
That's definitely Bluebird.
Yes.
Mm-hmm.
So Bluebird's kept getting into mischief out there, huh? She's even made friends.
This is highly alarming.
Do you have any idea who the other Gems were who attacked the Palace?
No. *sniffles* Th-they all scattered so fast I could barely make out their silhouettes.
Come on, try to remember. Any clue will do.
Well, I'd say that most of them were silhouettes of Quartz Gems, that's for sure. An Agate was the most notable among them all, I think I also saw a flying Gem, a Lapis Lazuli I'd say. Oh, and an Emerald as well. I'm not entirely sure though. As I said, I could barely make them out.
It's okay, you don't have to force yourself to remember.

Arnar the Dungeon
Arnar is a dungeon core. Everybody knows dungeons are evil, man-eating entities hell-bent on killing and absorbing whatever wanders inside their depths. The problem is no one ever told him that. Well, the truth is no one ever told him anything and he refused powers-that-be when they tried to make him into the proper dungeon. That should teach them not resurrect people into dungeon cores. Now it is too late. He has a perfect plan to become the best dungeon on the continent and nothing will stand in his way. Especially something called common sense. Disclaimer of sorts: I am non-native English writer that used to write mostly for himself. After my last computer decided to die on me taking all my works with it I lost the desire to write for quite a long time. This is my attempt to go find motivation to write again as this was my favourite hobby. The idea is to be held accountable. As for being non-native, I don't believe that should be a major issue as I feel my proficiency in English to be sufficient enough to not be too much of the distraction. That said, be forewarned that the rules governing punctuation are beyond my grasp. All I can do is try not to completely suck at that. As mentioned this is an attempt to motivate me to write again so any message, encouragement or constructive criticism will go long way. The cover was created with the help of http://fantasynamegenerators.com/emblem-creator.php I hope you will enjoy my story.

And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...
