After almost three months of waiting to be married, the day is finally here! We decided that today would be the wedding. But we're going to have the traditional Punjabi one first. We're going to have the traditional American next week.

I just finished getting ready. My mehendi looks beautiful, and the makeup the makeup artists did looks so good!

My anarkali, which a teal and baby blue color is gorgeous. The dupatta on my head is really heavy, but at least I look amazing. Everything on right now is surprisingly not so heavy. But I can't wait to get to the gurdwara.

I have gotten into our limo. My bridesmaids are riding with me. Mia, Kayla, Vina, Jessa, and my sister are all my bridesmaids. They're wearing rose gold shararas along with some light dupattas. They all look so beautiful. They have tears coming from their eyes once I step in the car.

I quickly hug all of them. My sister cries the most.

"Ansh, I can't believe you're getting married man. I've been taking care of you for the longest time ever. My baby sis is marrying someone. Don't leave us, okay? We love you." We stay in a group hug for the whole ride, and cry for the rest of our ride. I know that I'm going to be friends with these guys forever, but it's all just gonna change now that I'm going to be married. I'll be Ansh Hacker now to them.

We arrive at the gurdwara. I won't be seeing Vinnie until I'm ready to walk in. But we prepare by starting with the festivites.

Oh my god. This is happening. I'm walking into the gurdwara with my mother and father by my side. The rumala in my hands is lightweight, but I'm so nervous. What if I trip over myself? What if the dupatta falls off? What if my kalire gets stuck onto the rumala?

But all of my worries settle when I see Vinnie. Him in a light blue turban, a light blue sherwani with gold details, and a gold kirpan. I place down the rumala which is a beautiful pastel blue color. I look at Vinnie and smile. I love him so much. And now we'll be married!

The guru chants prayers and we silently listen. After a while, it's finally time to do the laavan. We stand on and I hold on to the piece of cloth. Vinnie and I walk around for the first laavan. We do this four times, until the last one, which is where another hymn is sung. One last ardas is done. Now, the ceremony is completed. Now, we leave for lunch, , then the joota chupai, and then the doli.

Yes! The time for the joota chupai has come! Mani and my cousins have stolen his shoes. Vina, Mia and Kayla keep a lookout for anyone trying to take them. Now Vinnie's family has to try and find the shoes. His brother, Reggie, (now my brother-in-law!), hastily looks around for it. His face is stressed out which is hilarious.

Now, I'm hiding at the top of our stairs waiting for Vinnie. At our house he tries to make deals with Mani and my friends. Finally, I am allowed to come downstairs and get to be with my husband.

For the sad part, the doli has begun. We sit in the living room, being fed with sweets and food, receiving money, and gifts. When I am ready to leave for Vinnie's house, no, our house, it's emotional. I am given rice to throw behind me, declaring that I'm ready to leave my childhood home. As we walk to the car, I don't even contain my tears. My sister and family hugs me, and my friends hug me tightly. I cry in their arms.

My mother makes me cry the most. Her hug reminds me of my childhood, and when she would hug me when I was hurt.

"Ansh, we love you. Don't forget about us. Ever. Or I'll hit you with the chappal," my family and I laugh.

"Mom, I will never. I love you guys so so much. You all are amazing. Thank you for being my parents." Mani, Dad, and Mom and I hug. Just the four of us, our family. I love these guys. I will never forget about them.

Vinnie and I get into our car, and I wave goodbye. Now it's just my husband and I, together. Mrs. Hacker at last.
