Vinnie and I have been off lately. These days his texts have been dry. He says that he's busy.

We've been together for a year now. Ever since his birthday, he's just been weird...

It all started with us kissing in his room. Then his phone started pinging. It was Nailea. She found out about my pregnancy scare and posted about it everywhere. She says she didn't know. But her and Vinnie have been getting really close. He hangs out with her daughter mostly. Which is understandable, so I'm not mad about that. But she expects him to watch her everyday while she's out with her friends. I wish she wouldn't. Her daughter doesn't get to see her mother as much and instead sees her godfather. Yes, Vinnie is Emilia's godfather. And her best friend is her godmother. I've seen Emilia a few times. Let me just say, she's adorable.

We started arguing.

"Vinnie, you have to convince Nai that she can't just leave her child with you all the time. You have a life too. I'm sorry if this sounds selfish, but it's her newborn kid. And she barely even spends time with her."

"You don't understand Ansh."

"Make me understand then."

"She needs me right now, okay? She hasn't seen her friends in a long time and now-"

"She needs you? Vinnie, what the hell? That's her excuse? That she hasn't seen her friends? Vinnie, she's been ignoring her child for 2 months because of her friends. Why can't you see that?"

"Ansh listen-"

"What? What is it?"

"She needs me okay, her friends need her. But she's really busy with them. What if you hadn't seen your friends for 2 years?"

"I know that I wouldn't neglect my child. I would want to prioritize my baby over people who I could easily just invite over. Why can't she do that?"

Silence.

"That's what I though. Vinnie, she's taking advantage of you. She knows you can't refuse her."

"That's not fair."

"Then how is it fair that you're watching her kid while she's out partying and drinking. I've seen her stories. Can you at least talk some sense into her? Her poor baby needs her mother."

"Ansh, I can try."

"Thank you."

He nods his head.

Our next fight didn't go to well. I threw my promise ring at him. He lied to me about talking to Nailea. He's been going out to lunch with her and her baby. Except she leaves Emilia with her best friend in the car. I'm just done.

"Vinnie, we're through. I can't do this anymore. For two 2 weeks you two have been going out to lunch as if it were a date. I can't trust you anymore." I took off my ring and threw it at him as he stood by my door. He opened his mouth and just muttered "fine. But I still love you. And I will win you back."

When he left I cried and cried for 5 months. I refused to talk to anyone. College started again. Right now it's New Year's Eve. My mind drifts back to last year's New Years where he met my parents. I can't think about this right now.

I spent Christmas break at my parent's house. But it's just been depressing.

My sister and friends have been comforting me. But it hasn't worked. Today is the day that I will be over Vinnie. I will get over him. It's now or never.

But when I hear a knock at the door, Vinnie comes in, holding my promise ring.
