《Acting The Part (Completed)》Boyfriend of a Few... MONTHS/ Bret

"I can't believe its been 2 months already since you left school!" Vic says. "It's felt like years! How the movie going?"
I sigh. "It's going good."
To be honest, Taylor and I are having some problems... she's being distant and doesn't want to open up to me. I don't understand what caused this, but I can't handle all this stress again. I thought all the unhappy parts were over for us.
The movie is going good though I guess. We are almost finished with it. There's only a few parts left. Maybe then Taylor and I could hang out? We've barely seen each other outside of the set. Hopefully she's not mad at me for that.
I have been getting to know Aurelia better though. That really has been a lot of fun. Taylor met her once. It went okay. She was more busy on the phone with her mom. I'm not saying that's a crime or anything, but after that call, she just stayed in her room. I just feel really bad about it. Taylor could have made more of an effort to get to know Aurelia. They could become friends or something.
Vic walks into my trailer with a huge smile. That smile instantly drops when she sees the mess.
"My oh my it looks like a frickin pig stall! You need to clean this shit up if you want Taylor to come in here!" She then plugs up her nose. "And spray some Febreze in here too! God Dang!"
I smack my lips. "It does not smell that bad. You're over exaggerating."
"I so am not. You're just a guy," she says with an eye roll. "Jake is the same way."
I wink and give her side a little nudge. "Oh, so you've seen Jake's room. What do you two do in there?"
Her face turns a beet red. "Shut up. Don't make me regret coming here for a visit!"
I chuckle. "Alright, alright. I'll stop. How is Jake doing anyways?"
"Good. He would have come with me, but he had a late shift. He's got a job now."
"That sounds great."
She nods. "We can finally go on nice dates now."
I think about her words. She seems so happy about it. Is that what Taylor wants me to do? Take her on a date? Well I've got nothing planned tonight.
"Hey did you get Whit's invitation for her photoshoot?"
"I did. I think everyone else in the group did too."
"Great! I was thinking before we all go, we could go out to dinner or something as a group again."
I nod. Taylor would love that. I'll definitely tell to her tonight at the dinner. I bet she'll love it. I'll make it worth her while. Everything is going to be perfect.
Vic waves a hand in my face. "Earth to Bret! You there?"
I shake my head. " Yeah I was just... thinking."
"You want me to come by later? My house actually not too far from here. It's only about a 15 minute drive."
I give a smile. "No no it's fine. You took the time out of your day..."
"Actually I'm supposed to be picking Jake up from work, but this place was on the way so I wanted to make a quick stop. I already said hi to Taylor so I best be going." She gives me a big hug. "And clean your room boy!"

I laugh. Yeah right. Like that's gonna happen. She leaves, and after a few minutes I grab my keys and look at the clock on the wall. It's 6:00. Perfect timing. I get out my iPhone 5s.
"Siri, where's the best restaurant in town?"
"Here are some locations I found on the web," she replies.
I scroll through her requests until I see the third one. Perfect. I may not have taken a long time preparing for this, but I didn't really need to be. I still put a lot of thought into this dinner. I still want this to be perfect for such a perfect girl. I can only hope she likes it.
I lock my door and knock on Taylor's trailer door. She answers with her phone to her ear. That's nothing new. These past weeks that's all she's been doing. She's always talking to someone on the damn phone. That's sort of why I started leaving her alone. Taylor hangs up when she sees it's me.
"Um Bret? What are you doing here?"
She's wearing the clothes she wore today before changing into costume which consists of jeans and a red long sleeve shirt with a golden yellow scarf. It sort of reminds me of the Griffindore colors from Harry Potter. Her hair is put up into a high pony tail.
"What do you mean? I'm your boyfriend. It's my duty to be here with you," I give her a wink. A long distant look clouds her eyes for a split second before it disappears. I ignore it. "Come on. Put on some shoes. We're going out to dinner."
"Umm Bret-"
"No buts! This is happening."
Taylor gives a little sigh. "Okay. Hold up." She goes back inside and appears a few moments later with black leather sneakers on her feet. I put my hand on the small of her back to guide her to my car, but she jerks by my touch. "Sorry," she says nervously. "I wasn't expecting that."
I give a curt nod. "It's okay." I remove my hand away from her instantly and make sure not to touch her again. Well this is going great! Note the sarcasm.
I bring out my car keys and unlock the car when we get to it, making sure to open the passenger door for Taylor. She doesn't get in. Instead she gawks.
"You have a car?!"
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Yeah. My dad bought it for me three weeks ago. I told you about it."
Guilt flashes across her face. "Sorry. I don't remember you telling me about it."
Hurt washes through me but I cover it up. I don't want her to think anything is her fault. "Yeah, he was, um," I clear my throat, "trying to get me back in his hold so he bought me this car." I point to my 2014 Chevy Malibu.
"Wow that was an ass move," she says bluntly.
"Yeah well he's going to have to try harder than this if he wants me back. Meanwhile, I'm keeping the car." I laugh when she gives a look a disapproval. "What? You would do the same thing if you were in my position. I can gauratee it." She doesn't answer. Instead she gives in the car and shuts the door, before I can shut it for her. Okay... I don't see what I did wrong.
The ride goes by in silence. She just plays games and texts on her phone the entire drive. It's okay I guess. I need to be focused on the road anyways. We arrive at La Plata about 20 minutes later. She opens the door for herself. I guess I'm not fast enough. Then again, no guy would be fast enough to open her door before she does it herself unless they're The Flash. I sigh and we walk into the restaurant together in an uncomfortable silence.

Once we are seated and handed our menu's something miraculous happens. She puts away her phone! Wow! Unbelievable! I never thought I would see the day... I give an internal sigh. I shouldn't be badmouthing her like that. This stress is just getting to me big time.
"So Vicki came by," she starts casually.
"Yeah I know. She came to my trailer and said hi."
"Oh. Cool."
"She also came up with this bright idea to have a little get together with the group and have some dinner before Whit's photoshoot. You know Whit's photoshoot?" She nods. "Yeah..."
"I wish I could come, but I'm going to be busy. She brought it up while she saw me, but I declined. She probably told you to try to convince me into coming," she scoffs.
"Is there any shot of that happening? Any sliver of hope?"
She frowns. "No not really. Sorry I'm going to be really busy before then." I blow the hair out of my face. I really need a haircut.
So I can't even convince her to have dinner with her friends. I can't touch her, I can't hold her, I can't talk to her, I can't joke with her, I can't make her happy, what am I even good for anymore? A label? Does she just like the idea that she is dating someone? Is that why we are still together? I can't hold back my thoughts anymore.
My hand shaked the table. "What's with you?" I ask. "You've been so distant lately! After rehearsal we don't even talk anymore. You just head straight to your room and talk to someone on your damn phone. What's so important that you ignore your boyfriend for weeks? We haven't had a decent conversation in weeks... I feel like we're falling apart."
Taylor sighs and ruffles her hair with her hand. "I had a feeling something like this was going to happen."
The waiter comes to our table and the conversation is put on hold. "Hello, my name's Dan. Anything to drink?" He shamelessly checks Taylor out. She doesn't seem to mind. I run a hand through my hair, trying to calm my nerves from standing up and punching him in the face. Can't he see that we are trying to have a nice dinner as a couple? Or is he blind?!
"I'll have water," Taylor says and looks attentively at me, waiting for me to say what I want.
I narrow my eyes at him. "Coke."
"Sorry, we don't serve Coke sir. We have Pepsi-"
"Yeah I'll get a Pepsi."
Taylor's eyes widen in shock and so do Danny Boy's. Run along Danny Boy. When he's gone, Taylor smacks my arm.
"What's wrong with you?! That was really rude of you!"
I grunt. "What did you mean by you knew this argument was coming."
She curses under her breath. "Well ever since you said that 'It was your duty' to be with me, I knew something was going to happen." She makes sure to put quotation marks around "It was your duty."
I sigh. So that's what the distant look was for. "I didn't mean it like that. It was merely a joke."
"You can't joke about stuff like that Bret! It's pretty serious to me."
"Fine. I was just trying to do something nice for my girl by bringing her here to dinner, but I guess it wasn't good enough or something. I guess I'm not good enough because every damn time I try to talk with you, you're on your damn phone."
Taylor's lips form a thin line. "That's not true. You have plenty of opportunities to come talk to me each day but you never do."
"Well if I have so many opportunities then you must have a lot too. Why don't you ever come over to my trailer?! I actually made an effort and when you opened that door, there you were, on your phone."
Her eyes darken. "I was talking to family. I haven't seen them in two weeks."
"And I haven't seen you in about a month and a half!"
"What are you talking about? You see me every day-"
"That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about actually seeing each other off the set."
"Don't! Cut me off ever again!" She yells. People are beginning to look, but I don't give a damn.
"Um here are your drinks. Have you decided what to order?" Danny Boy says to us, well more to Taylor. I swear. I just want to poke out my fucking eyeballs.
"No, sorry," she says sheepishly. "Give us a few more moments?" she asks sweetly.
He nods and walks off. My eyes burn in rage.
"What was that?"
"What was what?" she asks as if she didn't know what I was talking about.
"I'm talking about that." I point to where Danny Boy is right now. "You were all on him!"
"I was not even-! I was being curteous. Look Bret, you need to calm down."
"You never even invited me to see your family! I didn't know they came two weeks ago. That's how ill informed I am. I would have loved to hang out with them again!"
Taylor rolls her eyes. "Can you just look at your menu for god sakes so we can order?"
I sigh and run my hands through my hair. This fighting is obviously doing us no good, It's not getting us anywhere. It's not giving me any answers either. "Yeah whatever."
Suddenly, an obnoxious ring comes from Taylor's side of the booth. She checks her phone without hesitation. Her face morphs into one of astonishment. She stands up from the booth.
"I'm sorry Bret, but I have to take this. Don't worry about driving me. I'll get a cab. I'm so sorry. Bye." she gives me a peck on the cheek and leaves the restaurant. I throw my menu down on the table.
"Okay guys! What would you like to order..." Dan stops talking once he notices the empty chair. He cracks an amused smile. "She left huh?" I nod. He sighs and strokes my shoulder. "It'll be okay. Do you want me to just clear the table? You won't have to pay for the drinks. I'll just let you leave, free of charge."
"Okay, sure I guess."
Dan begins working on the table. Right before I leave, he slips something in my hand. I don't open it until I get outside.
I'm Gay. c;
Oh shit.

Celestial Spark
Mages traditionally make poor fodder, but with proper training and motivation, possess near limitless potential. For mage teams, the battle camps of the Upper Realms provide both, with missions ranging from orc hunts to political espionage. This tale follows one such team of four who strive to prove themselves in a world that would rather overlook them. Loyalty, honour, and devotion are contrasted by avarice, treachery, and apathy, though at times it can be difficult to separate vice from virtue. For though all people, whether they hail from the peripheries or the kingdom capital, are subjects whose fates are bound to the stars, their choices must be their own. Any comments or questions are welcomed.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
