《Acting The Part (Completed)》Tracy and Ana/ Taylor

% CHAPTER 41 %
I snuggle deeper into Bret's jacket back at the trailer. Surely he wouldn't mind if I stole his jacket! I take a deep breath. It smells so much like him!
After the small walk, I headed back to the set, but everyone was still working and I didn't want to see Jenna smooching on Bret so I came here. Hopefully that wasn't a mistake. I just don't want to lose Bret again over movie drama.
Luca bursts through the door with a smile on his face. He's wearing a costume for the show. Then Jenna walks in a few seconds later. About a minute after, Whipped Cream and Bret come in. My best friend is fuming.
"Luca! I swear if you're not gone by the time my regular clothes are gone, by sunrise tomorrow you're going to be in the middle of nowhere with frickin vultures pecking at your flesh!"
"Vultures only eat dead things."
Whit gives an evil smile. "Exactly."
Luca's eyes widen and he rushes into the changing room. "Nice meeting you Whitney!"
"It's Whit!"
I chuckle. "What happened between those two?"
"I don't even know," Bret replies. He gives me a big smile. "You're wearing my jacket."
I blush. "Yeah um I was cold." I begin taking it off to give it hack when his hand rests firmly on my shoulder.
"Keep it on. I wouldn't want you to freeze to death." I shiver in pleasure as I feel the sparks from his hand pass through my shoulder. "I'm just gonna go change. I'll be back."
I nod. Once Bret leaves, Whit takes his place.
"What an insufferable pig!" She mutters.
"Who?"
"Luca! I can't believe Bret is friends with such a douchemonger!"
"Whit! That's not true at all! Luca is a nice guy! And you've talked about him so much now already I'm starting to wonder if you've gotten a little crush on him." I wink at her.
She gasps. "Not at all! He aggravates me! Besides, I sort of already like someone else..." She mutters the last part, hoping that I don't hear it, but I do.
I can't help but squeal. "Ohmigod I knew it! It's Isaac isn't it?!"

Whit's eyes widen. "Keep it down!"
"So it is him?"
"Yes...but let's talk about it in private or over the phone or something."
"Girl, we are not talking about this over the phone! My house, tonight. You're coming with me and Bret."
"You sure?"
"Yes! You're my best friend!"
Whit gives a wink. "Sister's before Misters."
We both laugh and hold out our pinkies, linking them together. Then Bret comes out of the dressing room with his regular clothes. Time to go.

We dig into the popcorn bowl and put The Vow on in the living room. Whit ogles Channing Tatum with every muscle in her body.
"Isn't he just the hottest guy on Earth?" She notes. "If only he wasn't married..."
I smack her. "You already have a guy! Well you're about to..." I grin mischievously.
Whit shakes her head. "I don't even know if he likes me Baylor Bear. I mean he's sort of the hit and run type of guy. He doesn't stick with one girl too long."
"You never know that Whipped Cream. I thought Bret was a big major player and he didn't turn out to be. Just go talk to him or something. I'm sure it'll all clear up."
Whit sighs and shovels more popcorn into her mouth.
"How do you look at the one you love and tell yourself to walk away?" Leo, Channing Tatum's character, asks from the tv screen.
A tear flows down Whit cheek. "I don't know! I just wish you could hold me John!"
I pat her on the shoulder. "I think you're getting the movies confused Whit. Leo is The Vow. John is from Dear John...oh my god stop sobbing!"
"He's just too beautiful!" She wipes a tear away from her face. "Too beautiful."
I sigh. "You need a love life missy."

When the movie ends, we decide to prank call some people. So far its been Vicki, Aaron, Connie, Jake, and Bret. I'm trying to convince her to prank call Isaac, but its not working!
"Come on Whitney! You have nothing to lose!"
I shove the phone towards her, but she climbs backwards up another stair to avoid touching the phone.

"No! I can't do it!"
"Yes you can! Come on we prank called my crush! It would only be fair if we did the same for you!" I climb up one step.
She takes another one back. "But that crush is your boyfriend sweetie! That doesn't count."
"Well he's still my crush so it does count actually."
"Nothing you say or do can change my mind about this!"
I my shoulders slump before quickly jolting up again. I grin. "Let's call Luca then!"
Whit looks at the living room clock. "It's frickin 12am! How did we manage to stay up?"
I wave it away like it's nothing. "It's only 12. That's not too bad."
"Not too bad?! Oh my god who are you and what did you do with my best friend?! Taylor never stays up this late!"
I smack my lips. "It's not a big deal! Now who's it gonna be? Luca or Isaac?"
Whit takes a moment to think. Then she shouts, "I'd take Luca any day over Isaac!"
I chuckle. "Okie dokieee..."
I dial *67 before pushing in his number. It begins to ring. After the third ring, someone picks up.
"Hello?" I groggy voice answers. I throw the phone at Whit and she squeals trying to catch it. "Who is this?"
Whit squeezes her eyes shut as she tries to think of something. "Um this is Goodwill sir. We were calling to know if the offer still stands?" I almost burst out laughing from her fake accent.
"What offer?"
She lowers her voice a little bit. "I don't like usually saying it out loud like this but," she makes her voice a rough whisper to get even quieter, "when you came to my house in that G-string last night I just couldn't help.but feel...horny."
It was silent at the other end of the phone. "Wait, who is this again?"
Whit chews at her lower lip. "Tracy from Goodwill. Don't tell me you forgot about me!"
"I don't think I even know you!"
"Oh but you do. Last night you did me so hard I'm just, Oh! I'm getting shivers just thinking about it. Oh and look here comes Ana!" She chucks the phone at me.
I catch it in one not-so-smooth motion and put it against my ears. "Heeeeeyy Tiger!" I squeal in a Harley Quinn accent.
"Ummm look your friend thinks I slept with her last night or something and she won't quit bugging me. Tell her she's got the wrong number and I never did anything with or to her!"
"She just feels neglected cuz you were with me more of the time."
"Wait, what?!"
"Yah puddin! Don't you remember? But anyways, Tracy was calling because you sort of left your G-string on the cashier's desk where we were...you know, and she wants you to come pick it up."
The line goes dead. We burst into laughter. "Should we call him back?" I ask.
"Definitely!"
The phone rings a few times. "Hello?"
"Heeeey Tiger this is Ana! We just need you to come pick this up before we get fired. You know my sister Tracy-"
"You're sisters?!"
"Yah puddin!"
"Oh ew okay this isn't right. Look, I'm not your man."
"But you are! I can remember your sexy gruff voice from anywhere!"
I throw the phone to Whit. "Hey sugar! It's Tracy. Just come pick up this thong before the boss gets mad."
The line goes dead again. Whit cracks up. "No more! No more! If we talk to him one more time, I'm gonna laugh and blow our cover."
I nod. "Okay. Well I think its time to call it a night. Are you sleeping over?"
Whit laughs. "Of course I'm sleeping over! When is Bret getting back home?"
"He said about 12:30. That's not too far from now."
"Okay well let's go upstairs then." Whit nods and we go up the steps.
I sigh in content as I sink into the bed. I just want this weekend to be perfect.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

The Card Thief of Culnivar
Deep with the cozy kingdom of Daeton, among the generation-old farmlands and villages, a young farmer’s daughter stumbles upon a dead man. His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.
