He left you and came to me four years back because he realised you weren't worth it. He choose me over you. And she will do the samething at any given point of time"

She completed her monologue.

Sharon couldn't control her laugh. Lily frowned immediately.

"Not even for a second until now I thought of getting back with Chris. And I believe I deserve more than a cheating ass like him and a backstabbing slut like you. I don't care what you both do. And as of the old hag you are talking about she is my Grandmother and the host of the party, if you speak ill of her I will make sure to kick you out of not only my house but also the house you are living in." Sharon threatened before going out with glasses in her hand.

Chris was starting to get worried now, why would Lily follow her inside, is she mad? The moment he saw Sharon walk out of the kitchen with a little glint in her eyes he knew something happened. Lily followed her few seconds later her face a little sullen. Chris looked up at Lily and tried to read her. As soon as his eyes met hers , she gave him a small smile. Chris returned the smile as she sat back in the chair next to him.. She must have missed her best friend. The same way you missed the love of your life. His heart said.

Sharon felt proud of herself, she would never break down into tears and cry, beg to get back with Chris. As she said she doesnt want him.. she would have nothing to do with him. Or atleast that whats she convinced herself. But why does her heart ache when she saw chris rubbing his palm on lily's back.

"mommy look!" chase called pulling sharon of her thoughts.

"Yes baby... "

"I am good boy eating" he said putting a spoonful of food in his mouth. Sharon smiled at her boy " very good sweetheart" she said.

There was this unknown tension surrounding only the clicks of their spoons and forks could be heard. "So... Chris what do you do?" Joe asked.

"I own a small finance company back home" he said trying his best to be civil with the guy because his eyes were on Sharon the moment he walked.

"Small?" Lily scoffed "don't act to modest Chris. Sherry enterprise's is the one best Executive finance company according Rush magazine."

Sharon shifted in her Chair uncomfortably. Memories hit her when for the very first time Chris showed her the board of "Sherry Enterprises ". She had tears in her eyes and repeatedly just said "you just did not name your business venture on me.' For which Chris just kissed her.

"What do you do for living Lillian?" Momo asked.

"Please call me Lily. I used to work in a firm but recently I started working with Chris."

"So you both are married?" Joe asked casually while Sharon pretend to look at Chase who was picking his green veggies and just completely zoned out seeing her baby beside her.

"No.. we are getting married in 2 months" Lily said beaming at Joe. Chris's eyes immediately landed on Sharon who looked unaffected. 'Ofcourse She doesn't care' his subconscious mocks.

"Chase... didn't you just say you are a good boy donot pick that out. Eat it" Sharon said playfully glaring at him. Sharon's day would be less tiresome if the boy doesn't try to be too difficult when ever she tries to feed him. She had to do what not to just feed him two spoons. But gratefully may be they have guests that's why he was behaving a little and not decorating her with his food . Sharon's eyes landed on April who was looking at her but when their eyes met she immediately turned her eyes to the plate. Sharon's heart went out for her little angle. "Ďo you like it?" She asked.

"Very much" April replied giving her a small shy smile. Sharon couldn't help but smile back at her.... she missed her so much.

Complete table's attention was on the her and when she realised that she tries her best to take attention off her, "Did Jane call? Did she reach safely.?" She asked Joseph who was on the other side.

"Yup. She reached Safely. She said she kept in munching your cookies all the way back home"

Sharon just laughed at that.

Chris was quite but he couldnt help but burn in jealousy for the attention Joseph is getting while she is not even sparing him a little glance.

"And How did you land yourself in Princeton?" Momo asked him.

"Just a small family vacation. April wanted some Daddy time. " Lily said answering for Chris.

"Why Princeton of all places?" Sharon's voice in a small.

"April just wanted to go here" Chris answered.

"I love the beach" April said to no one particular. Sharon's eyes landed on her for a second before meeting Chris's.

April was same as Sharon in this department she loved beaches.

"So that's why the Princeton." Joe said concluding. While April nodded her head.

Joseph was helping Sharon clean up while Momo was having a conversation with Chris.

"So that wasn't bad was it?" He asked Sharon.

"Well I didn't kill any three of them."

"Three of them?" He asked confused.

"Oh yeah... three of them.. those two and My Momo for her ridiculous idea."

"Well... well .... Sharon you know Momo. She is spiteful. She does things in spite."

"True..." Sharon agreed softly.

"Now that you have seen him moved on... would you give us a Chance." He asked seriously.

"It was never about him" she wanted to reply but she couldn't because who was she fooling, Joseph? Or herself?

"Joe..."

"Sharon, I asked you 7 months back you said you never thought about it. I'm asking again now... Sharon I like you and I'm sure you must have known this. Give me a chance."

Sharon knew exactly why she said She didnt think about it. A part was because of Chris. Yes... she agrees but a part was because she was scared she was scared bringing any one into Chase's life and hers too. She doesn't want anyother person to walk away from her.

"I am not saying let's start right now.... I am just saying think about it." She said quitely trying to study her.

Sharon took a deep breath and said I'll think about it."

Joe was ecstatic. He hugged Sharon. Sharon buried her head in his broad shoulder.

Chris came to get the champagne Lily brought because Momo strictly ordered that She has to drink atleast a flute of Champagne before Sharon comes. He stood their seeing Sharon in that Doctors arms. His blood boiled and before he could process his thoughts he literally ripped Sharon from his arms.

"What the hell?" Joe asked.

"Donot touch her." Chris replied snarling.

"What the..." Sharon tried but nothing came out of her mouth.

"Who are you say that?" Joe fired.

"I'm her..."Chris started but couldn't complete. "You are her what?!" His subconscious mocked.

"You are Nothing to me." Sharon voice was low. " I hug whoever I want! I kiss whoever I want.!" She said before smashing her lips inn Joe's.

Joseph looked little startled but before he realised she pulled away. It was just a mere small kiss which lasted like 3 seconds.

Chris knew that was a complete douche move pushing her to kiss that Doctor but as I said before he just couldn't help himself.

Before he knew he would smash the bottle of champange so he left as fast as possible from the kitchen.

Joe still had that startled expression on his face. "I'm sorry" Sharon mumbled.

"Its okay" Joe said brushing his hands on his shirt.

His phone rang and he told Sharon that he had to take that and rushed outside.

Sharon was angry at Chris sorry scratch that she was fuming. When she came back she saw that Momo was pretty drunk as She was light headed. Chris was calmly sitting on the sofa and she saw April curled up to his side and was sleeping. She looked around for Chase and when she didn't see him she slightly paniced.

"He feel asleep too, I took him to bedroom upstairs." Chris said.

Sharon frowned "Did you put something as a heap so that he wouldn't fall."

"I did... I am habituated to do so." He said with a small smile.

Just then Joseph rushed inside "I have to go it's a emergency in the hospital. See you tomorrow." He said collecting his coat, " see you later Momo."

As soon as Joe left Sharon turned towards Chris and said " I think you should leave too."

"I will but we have something to talk about"

"What?!" Sharon asked suddenly feeling nervous.

"I'm sure you know...." he started but Sharon's phone was ringing.

It was an unknown number Sharon frowned "Hello?!"

"Madam I am calling from SM goods... the things you ordered just came."

"Now at this time." Sharon frowned "it's almost 10."

"I know I'm so sorry ma'am. Our truck had a small breakdown. We have to deliver it right now because we have many others to make."

"But we are closed." Sharon mumbled.

"Please understand madam it's okay if you send someone."

"Or atleast you could deliver them directly at my place." She said.

"How long your house is from here ma'am?"

"Just a 20 min drive." She said.

"Okay ma'am but could you please come in the towards this direction that would really save my time. Please maam" he pleaded.

Sharon sighed and said she would wait for him near the road A-10 bustop and she can't come any further.

"Thankyou Ma'am that would do." She said cutting the call.

Sharon sighed again. She turned towards Momo "I have to go to bus stand" she said.

"Now!?" Momo and Chris asked at a time.

"Yes.. there was slight delivery trouble. I have to get my mail boxes."

"You want to go out there alone this late?" Chris asked as if he heard the most annoying thing.

"Mind your own business " Sharon snaped rather rudely.

"He is right. I can't allow you to go alone. Take Joseph or something."

"I can't Momo he has an emergency..."

"I can come with you." Chris supplied.

"No Thankyou." Sharon said.

"That would be great help" Momo said at same time.

Lily panicked. She can't let them go alone. "Or you can take our Car" she suggested.

"Sharon doesn't drive" Momo said.

"However I will just walk it's just few minutes" She said stubbornly.

"I said I'm taking you" Chris said placing April carefully aside. Grabbing Sharon's hand and dragging her outside even before any one could say anything.

Two minutes into their walk Sharon said "I think you can leave my hand."

"Nope." Chris said.

"What?" Sharon said trying to pull her hand out of his hold. While he was not even showing any signs of difficulty.

Sharon tried for few more seconds before she gave up.

"You learned cooking very good." He complimented. "The first time you cooked you almost burned down my place" he said with a faint smile.

"Do not exaggerate. The food was just charred." She said glaring at him.

"You do not drive anymore?" Chris asked after few minutes of silence.

"No" Sharon replied slowly.

"From when?" He asked.

"From the night of accident."

"Oh Sharon...!" Chris said pulling her into hug.

Sharon had a mixed feeling. She doesn't like to talk about it. She could feel Chris heartbeat. Her favourite beat in the past. But Now all its doing was soothing her mind. But this not happening to her again. Sharon pushed him away from her.

"You Bloody keep your hands off me" she warned him.

They both waited in the bus stop. Sharon was keeping all the necessary space between them.

The delivery man came in no time apologising profusely for the inconvenience.

Sharon said it's okay but warned him that this cannot happen again.

Chris took the heavy box from Sharon, her protests going to a deaf ear .

"The thing I wanna talk to you about." He said "Its about Chase"

"What about him?" She asked knowing very well what's coming next.

"I'm not going to beat around the Bush Sharon. Is he my son?"

Sharon let go of the practiced laugh " Who said he is your son?"

"Sharon we have same blue eyes."

"Maybe... but don't you think we need to be together so that I reproduce. As long as I remember I left you." She said harshly and turned around taking the box from his hands.

Chris grabbed Sharon's wrist and turned her around, "Why don't I believe you?"
