"Star, Laddie, Michael, Sam! Breakfast is ready!" Lucy Emerson shouted from the kitchen. Two, excited pairs of feet rushed down the stairs. Sam Emerson quickly rushed over to the kitchen table. The Emerson House had been rebuilt from the battle that had killed Max. Max had been a Vampire who wanted to turn Lucy, wanting her to be a mother for his daughter and his boys. Thanks to [Y/N] and her powers, she was able to kill Max before he actually had the chance to turn Lucy. Laddie Thompson, now Laddie Emerson, had been a half vampire who had been turned by David. After killing Max and reverting to his human form, he had been unofficially adopted by the Emersons until Laddie found his birth parents. He had been officially adopted when he wasn't able to find them. Laddie wasn't too bothered about it since he was now living a very happy life with the Emersons. His long hair, which had reached past his shoulder when he had been living with [Y/N] and her boys, had been cut short. Laddie took a seat at the table, drooling over the breakfast items that were set around at the table. Star and Michael descended the stairs last, holding hands. Like Laddie, Star had been a half vampire, turned by David. When Max was killed, she had been returned to her human form, as had Michael. The two adults took a seat at the table. Lucy smiled at her family.
"How did everyone sleep?" She asked. Laddie smiled at his adoptive mother as she scooped some scrambled eggs onto the boy's plate.
"I slept really good, mom!" Laddie said. It had taken him a couple months to get used to calling Lucy mom, instead of calling her by her first name or Ms. Emerson. Sam took some pancakes, piling them onto his plate.

"I would have slept a lot better, if it hadn't been for hearing moaning coming from Michael's room all night." Sam complained. This earned a slap to the back of the head from his older brother. Lucy sighed and rolled her eyes. She glanced at Michael.
"Michael, how many times have I told you to take your activities away from the house, or at least keep it down! Especially with Laddie here!" She reprimanded. Star blushed and smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry, Lucy." She said. Unlike Laddie, Star hadn't been adopted by the Emersons, seeing as it would make things between her and Michael awkward if they had been like siblings. She was what the family considered, an honorary Emerson, someone being under the protection of the Emerson family. As it turned out, the Emerson family came from a long line of Vampire Hunters, Lucy's dad had been a retired Vampire hunter. Lucy smiled at Star.
"No need to apologize, Star. I'm not mad at you." She said sweetly. The sound of sliding doors caught the groups attention as Grandpa Emerson, or Grandpa, walked out from his taxidermy workshop. He sighed and closed the door. Lucy looked at her dad. "Oh, dad, would you mind going and getting the mail real quick?" She asked. Star looked up.
"I can do it, Lucy. It's no problem. Besides, I don't think Grandpa has gotten a chance to eat yet." She said. Lucy looked at the woman and smiled.
"Well, that's very kind of you, Star. Thank you." She said. Star smiled and nodded, getting up from the table and walking out into the heat of the Santa Carla summer sun.
A few moments later, Star came rushing into the door, looking out of breath. A huge smile was on her face. Michael frowned and got up, walking over to her.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked, gently resting his hands on his girlfriend's arms. Without answering, she handed an unopened envelope to Michael. She quickly rushed over, handing other envelopes to the other members of the family, including Grandpa. She held and already opened letter in her hands. Lucy looked at the woman.
"Star, are you alright?" She asked. Star smiled and looked at the family.
"Just, open the letters." She said, still out of breath. The family members opened the letters. Lucy took out the contents of the envelopes and gasped in surprise, covering her mouth with her hand. A huge smile broke across Laddie's face. Grandpa smiled and chuckled lightly.
"Well I'll be damned." He muttered. Inside the envelopes, was a wedding invitation.
//I created this invitation using Canva. I made up Paul, Marko, and Dwayne's last names.//
Sam held the invitation up and looked at his family members.
"Is this really happening?" He asked.

Star and Sam quickly made their way to the comic book store that the Frog Brothers, Edgar and Alan, ran. The two boys had been wanna-be Vampire Hunters. They had taken part in Max's death. Since then, they had formed a friendship with [Y/N], her boys, Star and Laddie. Edgar looked over and smiled slightly.
"Well. It nice to see some familiar faces." Edgar said. Alan walked over, resting his arm on his brother's shoulder. He looked at Sam.
"Come to buy another comic book?" He asked. Sam shook his head.
"No, actually," he said. He then handed two envelopes to the brothers. "Star and I came here to deliver some news." He said. The two brothers opened the envelopes and took out the invitations. Smiles broke out across their faces. Edgar chuckled.
"Holy shit." He breathed. Alan smiled and looked up at Star.
"Is this really happening?" He asked. Star smiled and nodded.
"It's really happening." She said.

Catalyst: Avowed
The year is 605, and in your home— the country of Corcaea— the souls of mankind belong to demons. A phenomenon known as the "Catalyst" is what's to blame. This diabolical phenomenon lurks within every man, woman, and child. It can turn any human into a demon, if they fall prey to one, all-consuming element. It can be anything. Fear. Grief. Generosity. Even love. In a land where Gods are real and Corcaea's theocracy is the last hope for mankind, you follow in the footsteps of Father Richard Anscham: a deeply disturbed young priest, the leader of the Church of Mercy, and the foremost researcher of the Catalyst. Despite completing a holy mission from the Goddess of Mercy, obtaining a holy Relic, and escaping from demon-infested ruins, Father Anscham is in greater peril than ever before. Ravaged in mind, body, and soul, the solace he begs to receive from the Church of Flesh is impeded by a cruel lesson: the ramifications of a life spent sacrificing everything one has for others. See through the harrowing eyes of a man at his wit's end; through a dark fantasy tale of horror, hope, and desperation. Search for the cure. Conquer your personal demons. Welcome to Catalyst! As this is an archive of Catalyst Quest (an interactive, collaborative story), the prompts that were included with the original run of Avowed have been stripped, and the story is presented like a traditional novel for your reading convenience. If you would like to read Catalyst in its original format or participate in current events, you can find us here, on Sufficient Velocity. This book is complete! The story will continue with Catalyst: Calunoth, just as soon as I am done revising its content for here on Royal Road.
