《The Monster With A Soul - Dwayne (Lost Boys)》Chapter One

Timeline : Summer of 1987 in Santa Carla, California.
It was a late Thursday summer night. Christine's brothers, Edgar and Alan work at a local comic book shop. They had been coming home a bit later than usual these past few days. Maybe they were just working later shifts. They walked very cautiously around their house, like their lives depended on it.
Posters of hair-metal bands covered the walls, everything from Mötley Crüe, Bonham, and Guns 'N' Roses. She was reading a magazine, an interview with Skid Row before their next big tour after the release of their album. Her record player softly played Def Leppard's new album, Hysteria. She was laying on her bed, drifting off to sleep. Her brothers burst through her bedroom door, awakening her from her mid-slumber.
"Do you think Mom will notice if all of the spare wood from the garage is gone?" Edgar asked. Christine pulls the needle off the record player, annoyed. She shrugs and asks why. "Nothing important."
"Just saving the world!" Alan exclaims proudly, making Edgar slap him in the arm.
"You guys are pathetic," she says, putting her magazine down so she can see them more clearly. "This make-believe shit again? What now? You saw a witch fly over the moon? An army of gnomes plotting our doom in the basement? No! You saw a family of ghosts, didn't you? You two need to grow up! Last week, you two were convinced you saw a zombie walking in our backyard!"
"It's not our fault Miss Nancy next door looks like a walking corpse!" Alan argues. "But this time, we know what we're dealing with is real!"
"And what could that possibly be?" Christine sarcastically asks, rolling her eyes.
Edgar and Alan look at each other, then nod. They open their mouths in unison and say: "Vampires."

Christine attempts to hold in a laugh, but it comes out in hysterics. She laughs so hard her stomach starts to hurt. Their facial expressions clearly showed that they believed in this theory with their heart and soul.
"Ha-ha," Edgar says. "Laugh all you want, Christine. But who's gonna be laughing when we kill those blood-sucking dick-wads?"
"Me!" she cackles. "Because they aren't real, dumbass! When are you two going to grow up and act your age? You're in high school, for God's sake! And you're concerned about fictional creatures? Unbelievable."
They scoff at her, as if she is the unreasonable one. Just as they start to walk out the door, she stops them. They usually did not get this upset over something like this, so she might as well see how it plays out.
"Fine. If you really believe it, then prove it to me. I'll make a deal with you."
They huddle in the doorway, then nod.
"If you somehow show me that these vampires exist, then I'll set you both up with my friends, Jordan and Abby. You know, the ones that you get all googly-eyed for whenever they come over? But, if they aren't real, which they aren't, you two have to do all of the cleaning around the house for the next month. Sound good?"
They huddle up again, murmuring to each other. After a moment, they make a decision.
"We have a deal," Edgar says, putting his hand out to shake it. Christine takes it. Edgar fixed his posture, turning to Christine's full body mirror. He checks himself out, flexing his "muscles". "Now, I have to go pick out what I'm going to wear on our date!"
Edgar and Alan leave her room, going back to their own. She rolls her eyes, putting the record players needle back on to the vinyl. What did she just sign herself up for?

--------------------------------------------
Early, the next morning, Edgar and Alan woke her up. They had stakes sticking out of their bags, that must have been what the wood was for. Their backpacks were filled to the brim with "vampire-killing equipment" as they called it. Garlic was packed into plastic bags, uncut. They had stakes and a few kitchen knives. Edgar handed Christine a flashlight.
"Rise and shine," Alan says in a monotone manner, opening her window blinds, letting all of the light in. "We have to get moving. Mom just left for work, so we're in the clear."
She shoos them out of her room and got changed. They suggested to her to wear all black or camo, so she would not stand out. Although it sounded stupid, she figured she might as well keep the crazy train going. She put on black leggings and a plain long-sleeve black shirt, a camo vest on top. She applies makeup, making sure that wherever they were going, she was going to look good. She scrunches up her hair with gel, adding more volume to it. She puts on heeled boots, adding a few more inches of height to herself. She grabs her pre-packed bag (thanks to Alan and Edgar) and goes downstairs, where they were waiting for her. Edgar tosses her a banana.
"You can eat on the way," he tells her. "We're taking our bikes over to a friends house, he's coming along."
"And is this friend of yours as insane as you two are?" she asks.
"Let's hope not," Alan jokes, taking them outside.

Behemoth - HIATUS
A man with no memories wakes up in an unfamiliar world. All he knows is that he was once human.
8 211The Watchmen - A Horror Novella
The paper Kate found while rummaging through her old college work looked like some silly poetry. Just out of college, she landed a dream job in the game industry, and moved to a new city. She couldn't believe her luck! But there's something very odd about the piece of literature. There's numbers that keep changing daily, almost like a countdown.
8 623A Bloody Game
Eric Hunter, a boy who took a gamble with his life on the line, soon finds out that the pay off took a very different direction that he thought. Having just awoken from a pre-op only to find himself confused and all alone in a changed world and a hospital consumed by chaos he must do all he can to survive. In a new world where society crumbles and laws are merely pretty words on written paper, how will a boy who has been restricted his whole life live now that there is nothing to hold him back? When everything turns into a zero sum game of dog eat dog, they'll find that The Hunter is an all too willing participant, but he will soon find out that he isn't the only player of this game. First story I'm posting and I don't really have a cool synopsis, sorry everyone, but this story is just another LitRPG apocalypse. I guess the only difference is that the main character isn't a hero. He's not here to save the world, he's not here to make friends, and he's definitely not here to save everyone. He's probably what the villains in other similar stories would be actually. Just writing for fun, advice or constructive critism is welcomed, writing style prone to change. Warning: Incredible amounts of poor grammar, Gore, Profanities, Traumatizing content, and cliches(I plan to have multiple main characters, maybe this is too ambitious for my poor skills, but it seems like it would be fun to try, the other MCs won't show up until later on.) The cover image isn't mine I just found it online. It's a piece by Stephanie Frey This takes inspiration from a lot of great stories on here, but I find the beginning to be most similar to Blood Lust by DefinitelyNotJormlung. Starcraft and Warhammer 40k and survival world rpg by S_Conary will also influenced this (at least that's my plan if I ever get that far or finish this) Also please stay with me until chapter 3. I suck at starting stories, but have been told I get better as I'm further along.

This is the story of a boy named Lawrence. On the night of his high school graduation, Lawrence along with 1/4 of the population of earth were taken to compete in a survival game. The stakes, the continued existence of the human race.In a world where one mistake can mean the death of yourself and all the people you love. In a world filled with game-like systems and quests. In a world that desperately needs a hero how will Lawrence fare? Because in this world of growing mystery and strangeness Lawrence knows one thing for certain. He is no hero.
8 179Angelic Summons
We are called to; Struggle for supremacy. Survive this new world. Find our faith. On the advent of the system we will bear witness to the depths of our new power. Power we were never meant to have. And how it perverted us.
8 303Ether mage
Everyone is born with mana. Some people are born with more. Some are born with less. If they practice enough, they can improve those numbers, but if you don't even have enough to practice with, there isn't much you can do. Everyone is also born with ether. It is useful, but can't power any spells by itself. It only gives them shape. You don't normally need much ether. It is nice to be able to summon swords out of thin air, but not really that useful ability in a peaceful country, where enchanted items are so cheap. For people born with bigger ether pool, there isn't much to do except double their efforts to get more mana. Or reach out for a forbidden power...
