; fluff, zombie nightsisters, kinda short

I was back in my search for him, for my soulmate. The Force connected us heart in heart but I lost him. I lost myself, my memory failing me whenever I tried to remember a name or a place. I just wanted him back, the man I saw in dreams that made me continue to survive the horrid dead nightsisters. The temple, just staring at it made my heart race. He was there, my lover was there.
I ran as fast as my legs could go, the rocky surface underneath me cracked and old. I lunged for the second platform, breaking away from the zombies, my breath heavy in my chest. It was stronger as I moved, the Force was guiding me to that temple. That old Dathomirian temple. It was as if he was tugging on a string, begging me to come back to him. He needed me right now. After I lost my memory two days ago, I'd been waiting for him, feeling his connection through the force as a woman named Merrin protected me while I slept at night.
I ran a little farther. Dead zabraks lay on the ground, having been chopped up by what seemed to be a lightsaber. I took one of their claw climbers and slipped it on, jumping towards the rocky wall in front of me. I caught the claws into the orange holes, climbing up the deadly wall. At the top, I would find him, my soulmate, the person who I had a force connection with.
As I got closer, short flashes of old memories came before me. A ship.. what was the ship called. The Mantis! That was the ship we had been in together. A woman, black curly hair sat on top of her hair. A small grumpy grey dude with 4 arms. A small robot that loved to climb on my shoulder and beep in my ear. The same poncho that covered me currently was once untattered, I have seen it on a ginger man before, a cute dude who I wished to see. My dreams refused to show him again though, I tried to touch him before the dream ended and I felt his soft freckled skin, his ginger hair felt like water, moving like the waves of an ocean.

I pulled myself up, happy that the wall climbing was finally over. I ran until I met the large temple entrance. The boy from my dreams had his blue lightsaber ignited while he fought some invisible force. He jabbed it into thin air, looking up at something.. someone that I couldn't see. He was desperately trying pull it back to him as it crunched under his grip.
"Nooo!!" he roared, his yell echoing off the walls of the rocky temple. He was in distress, I wanted to help him so badly. A memory then played in my mind. It wasn't too short, it was him. The boy in front of me. He held my face, looking at my lips before pressing his to mine. It was sweet, loving, passionate before I broke out of my trance. My lover was in the same position, clutching his broken saber.
His name came easy for me as I unconsciously called out to him. "Cal!"
He turned around, his green eyes shinned like a lighthouse, staring at me with shock. "Y/n.. my flower. Is that you?" he asked, hanging his lightsaber back onto his belt like it didn't matter anymore.
"Y/n.. yes, that's my name right?" I asked him, lost. He was worried, I could tell by the way his eyebrows curved downwards. His boots made loud thumping noises as he ran to me, wrapping his arms around me while swinging me in circles.
Once he put me down on my feet, I was hugged against his chest, a warm musk scent deliciously wafting into my nose. He was my idea of perfection. His face was buried into my hair and it seemed like he was smelling me too, taking in my scent like he'd never smell me again. "My pretty girl.. I've been looking all over for you. What happened?"

I felt my eyes well with tears, my emotions too much. "I- I don't know," I cried into his chest. "I lost my memory, when I woke up two days ago, I was.. I was here. I've been fighting off these.. these things with sticks. The last thing I have of you, it's.. they tore it a-apart."
Cal eyed my ruined poncho, tracing his feathery touch across the rips. He took it off, discarding it on the temple floor and replaced it with his, leaving him in just his jacket. His hand lifted my chin and he connected our lips in a delicate kiss. Time slowed, his lips barely against mine, but still melting my legs, turning them to jell-o. I was enchanted by Cal; this boy that I'd seemed to have been in love with forever made me weak still, a subtle touch not failing to make blood rush to my cheeks.
Cal removed his soft lips from mine, looking down at me with adoration in his beautiful emerald eyes. "Cere misses you, we all did." A droid popped out of nowhere, beeping as it sat on Cal's shoulder.
"What's his name.. the droid?" I asked, patting the droid's head. It was a cute little thing, it fit Cal nice enough to know that it was definitely his droid.
"BD-1, you don't remember him either?" I shook my head, looking down with shame, but Cal only lifted my head back up. His finger curled beneath my chin as his thumb rested on top of it. "It's alright Y/n, it's not your fault. Do you only remember me?"
I though back to the big ship. "The Mantis. I remember The Mantis."
Cal nodded his head with a smile and pecked me on the nose before moving his hand to mine as he guided me out of the temple. "We'd better run for it, my protection's a bit.. well, broken."
I agreed as we made our adventure back to our home, the ship. I couldn't seem to stop looking at him though, he was eye candy in its finest form.
I smiled up at him before we boarded The Mantis, connected hand in hand. The woman, Cere, greeted me with a hug. She told me how much Cal missed me, how many sleepless nights he'd gone through. When she said that, I looked up at the Jedi. He was staring down at me with a protective aura around him. His only response was hooking his arm around my waist to snuggle me into his side.
Cal and I sat down on the couch while Greez set us into hyperspace. I laid my head in Cal's lap, feeling his rough fingers run through my hair. Before I fell asleep, the last thing I had heard was Cere.
"You love her don't you?"

Minding Others' Business
In a world of magic, monsters and violence, sometimes you need strong, valiant heroes to champion your cause, to fight the good fight, and to rise up against tyranny. Sometimes you just need your favourite mop found, or want to know who your wife went home from the tavern with. Of the two kinds of jobs, Gabriel and his team would always much rather take the latter. The mercenary life is all well and good, but it's so much the better when you get to sleep in a soft, fluffy bed each night and wake up without any troublesome perforations in the morning. They might live life on the safe side, but the team is not without their merits. Their archer is a passable shot, their brawler is feisty, their leader is, well, also there, and, most importantly, they have a mind-mapper. A mind-mapper is a wielder of a rare and ancient power. With his unique understanding of the soul, and how it can be manipulated, he alone could change the course of history, influence global politics, and bring fame and fortune to himself and his allies. Unfortunately for everyone, he's just a bit of a d***. UPDATES EVERY MONDAY Discord: https://discord.gg/Jfbkthr

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
