Recap of Previous part: Y/N got to school seeing Pico there. You both then see Nene staring at an up-coming consort poster including Cam and Candy.
Y/N tried to ignore Cassandra but found it difficult to and decided to message Hanzou for help. Hanzou then sent you home with a friend of his that would protect you from Cyclops.
————————————Y/N POV—————————-
I ate an apple outside the school in a bench, waiting for Hanzou's friend to come outside. It was pretty early and I had a feeling that Cyclops wasn't gonna come attack me at this time. I thought about more things, until I saw Hanzou's friend walk outside the door. It was Pierre.
I got a little scared from this, but I knew he won't try to kill me since he thinks it's from Cassandra's orders. "Hey." He said. I just looked at him and waved hi. "Are we gonna go now or just sit here?" He asked me, wanting to go already. "Oh, yes. Right." I said quickly standing up and walking with him following along.
"Why is Cyclops trying to kill you? Aren't you part of our gang?" He asked me. "Oh uh. I guess I just made him angry." I lied, knowing I wasn't part of their gang at all. I didn't even look like I was, but I guess they believe everything Cassandra says.
"Eh, k." He said with a shrug. "We should get along, you know? Just so we don't find this awkward." I told him. "I don't have to get along with you to protect you." Pierre said rudely, crossing his arms. I just looked down disappointedly then also seeing how many weapons he had. He seemed to have like 3 guns and 1 sword. He must take his job seriously.

We both walked over to this nearby cafe and decided to get something. "Do you want anything?" I asked him. He only shook his head no, but I still got him something. "Dude, I told you no." Pierre said giving me a bothered look. "You didn't say anything." I said rolling my eyes and giving him the drink. He just sighed and drank it.
We continued to walk down the sidewalk.
"I can see why Cassandra wants to protect you now." He said looking down a bit guilty. "Is that a compliment?" I asked him. "I guess." He responded.
I just laughed it off. It made him smile a little. "You remind me of one of my siblings. They passed away though." Pierre told me, looking like he was thinking about something. "Your sibling must have been a very cool person then." I said putting some shades on, trying to look cool. Dunno where I got that from. I made myself cringe a little at it. He only laughed a bit about that. I bet he felt a little awkward too.
"Anyways. I don't know where we should go. Have any recommended places?" I asked him. Pierre thought about it for a while and said, "I think we should go to the arcade. When Spike and I got there, we got carried away and bullied a child. I kind of regret it, but it was fun."
"I think I'm kind of banned from that place now." I said, remembering the time Candy and Darnell robbed that place and when Nene took a knife out in public. "Oh. I think I am too." He said. He probably meant about when he took out the gun inside.
"Hold it." Someone said behind us. We turned around and saw Spike pointing a gun at me. "Spike?" Pierre said. "What the fuck are you doing with them?" Spike asked. "Hanzou told me Cassandra gave me orders to protect them. Don't shoot them." Pierre told him.

"That Hanzou bastard is a traitor! He lied to you. Ask Cassandra and she'll tell you she never gave you those orders." Spike yelled at him. Pierre looked a bit shocked at that. He knew Spike had no reason to lie about this.
"I uhm—" I said not knowing what to do. I didn't know Spike was gonna be the one to kill me. Pierre then stood in front of me holding his sword. "I said don't attack them, Spike." He told Spike. "What the fuck are you doing!? Get out of the way. That freak took over your mind." Spike told Pierre putting his gun a bit down. Spike had fear in his eyes. I could tell he was trying to hide it.
"I don't care if Cassandra never gave me those orders. Hanzou told me them, and he's part of our gang." Pierre said. I realized why he did this. He saw me as part of his family. He said I reminded him of his sibling. Maybe I could be wrong, but he looked determined to protect me like if he were protecting someone he cared about.
Spike only looked surprised about this, but he decided to give up and put his weapon away. "I can't believe you, Pierre. You took orders from a liar." He said. "I don't care if I did. I know Cassandra cares about them. Don't you remember how she stood up for them back at the arcade?" Pierre told him making him remember that fight Nene and I had with them.
"Yeah, you're right. Sorry, Y/N." Spike said, looking away. "I forgive you." I accepted his apology. He then walked away. "Thanks, Pierre." I told him. "Hey, don't thank me. It was my job." Pierre responded rolling his eyes, but laughing about it.
"At what time is your job over?" I asked. "I'm pretty sure Hanzou said at about 7:25." He said. I just nodded and continue walking.
I think I shouldn't be scared of Cassandra. If she didn't care about me, I would've been dead where I was standing.
I just don't understand why she would care about me all of a sudden when we just don't get along with each other too well. Especially that I hate goths. They only remind me of what happened last year.

The Tale of A Fortunate Slave
In the world of Valeria, The capital of The Kingdom of Albert is besieged and yet our story dose not begin in a stronghold or castle. Our protagonist is not strong or powerful, quite the opposite in fact, she is a ex-slave. An ex-slave that got "lucky" in a way that some fear and despise while others enjoy and like her. This is the story of the quite Ash the slave turned personal servant of the daemon princess Lucy Darkheart. This is very much a work in progress so please understand if there's any mistakes or errors. Not only that but I am a novice so that kind of thing is to be expected. Thank you! Edit: Updates are whenever I make one or two new chapters so expect them to be as inconstant as a dragons fire breath. *Tags and Genres may be added as the story progresses. I have a Twitter now cause it would not stop bugging me when I wanted to look at news for a game, the link is here, https://twitter.com/JustAPhoenix2 . I don't know if it works or not on the edit screen, but you can copy/paste it anyway. I may do stuff there like give insight to some of the more trivial parts of the characters lives. (That refers to ALL character, not just Ash.)
