Your life as a dementor was the same every day. Meaningless actually. But you became a dementor when you had no happiness left in your life. Your soul and heart basically froze from all the despair. No relatives were alive, you had no friends left, no job.. No love in your life.

All you did as a dementor was try to find some happiness by stealing that what others had. It was a lonely life.

Now you were at Hogwarts to look for Sirius Black. You'd just fly around the castle grounds, the ground freezing behind you.

The students would often run away. You got that. They were afraid that you'd suck the happiness out of them..

You were different then the other dementors but no one seemed to notice that. Not that you cared. There wouldn't be a point in noticing it.

Snape was stroling down the corridors on his way to the dungeons. He didn't have much happiness so he really didn't care about the dementors.

When he turned around the cornor he saw you. He stopped. He didn't know why but he stopped. There was something about you. Something different. As if he was the only one who could notice that you weren't like the rest.

His feet started taking him towards you. You heard him and turned around to look at him. He just kept walking towards you. Why wasn't he running away?

He looked up at you. You didn't look as creepy as the rest. You were more.. human like. You moved a little closer to him in curiosity, unable to speak.

'You're different.' He then stated.

You were surprised that he could see that. You didn't know how he could but he could. You couldn't talk to him or say anything. It was annoying you.

'Why aren't you trying to take my happiness away? Not that there's a lot.'

You lowered yourself so you could see eye to eye with him. Something about you was actually calming you a bit.

'Why are you so human like?'

You could understand him. You couldn't find your voice to speak. Seeing that you were still partly human you could be able to speak.. right?

'Why am I even asking this? You're a dementor.' He grinned.

He turned around to walk away. You close after him and stopped right in front of him. He took a small step back and looked at you.

'Get out of my way.' He said.

You shook your head. Snape was surprised by the fact that you were even responding.

'Did you just..'

He seemed startled.

'You know how to communicate?' He asked.

You nodded.

'Can you speak?'

You nodded.

'Then why don't you?' He asked.

You tried but you couldn't. You wanted to say that you didn't know how. You tried to get yourself to talk.

'Can you answer me?'

You didn't answer. You didn't know if you could. Snape was a little creeped out but interested.. It was weird.

'You're.. odd.' He just said.

He didn't seem to be able to leave it alone. In the following days he tried to get you to respond to him. It was weird.. You felt weird. You felt like you were changing for some reason.

'It can't be possible that you can talk. I tried but you just can't. Why don't you talk?'

Snape didn't know why he wanted you too.he just had to make this work. Something about you needed to be.. saved?

'I..' You managed to bring out.

Snape looked at you. You were actually talking. His eyes widened a bit while he looked at you.

'I...ca...can... spe..speak.' You brought out.

A female voice? What was going on with you? He didn't understand it.

'How did you- why do you- what's going on?'

'I... don't know.'

You seemed to get progressively better.

'Do you have a name?' He asked.

'Y/N.. Y/N Y/L.'

Snake thought that that was a beautiful name. He looked at you.

'Are you human?' He asked. 'You r certainly don't look human.'

'I used.. to be.'

Snape felt kinda sad to hear that. What could have possibly happened that turned you this.. cold?

'You used to be? What happened?'

'This world is a.. dark place for.. me.'

Before you realised it you shared your entire story with him. Snape was shocked, He felt bad for you. You seemed like.. quite a nice girl.

'Since I've been talking to you I've been feeling.. different. I can sudden.. speak. It's like your care.. changed me.'

'Changed you?'

You just nodded. Snape didn't understand why he changed you. You appreciated that he tried to get you to speak, to open up.

In the days following Snape would just chat with you about nothing. You two really seemed to have a connection. It felt weird but good at the same time. But you also felt yourself change.

'Are you okay?' Snape asked.

You looked at him.

'Yeah.. I just feel weird.'

'Weird?'

'Yeah.. like something is changing and I don't know what it is.. since I met you I just feel so... alive again?'

He looked at you.

'Alive?'

'I feel.. happy? Like I don't have to take anyone else happiness to feel.. happy.'

'You're creating your own happiness.' Snape said. 'That's a good thing.'

'I'm not doing that. You're creating my happiness.'

You then realised that he was your happiness.. He meant something to you.

'Well you've been making me feel better recently too.' Snape spoke.

You two just looked at each other for a moment.

'I really like you.' He then said.

After those words left your lips the weird feeling returned. Snape stumbled back a bit and you didn't know why.

You then felt yourself changing back.. As if your cold heart had melted completely. Warmed up by Severus.

The weird black changed to actually clothes and you started to go back to the way you used to look. Snape watched you in amazement and when you had completely changed he looked at you.

He slowly stepped closer. You looked up at him. Your E/C eyes looking into his. He thought you were absolutely beautiful. He laid his hand on your cheek.

'I'm.. human.' You spoke in disbelieve. 'I'm human!' You then smiled happily, tears of happiness stinging in your eyes.

He pulled you into a hug and you hugged him back right away.
