____3rd Person POV_____

(Y/N) (L/N). A girl well-known for her extreme kindness towards others, despite not getting kindness back.

Ever since she was little, (Y/N) has always put others before her, not thinking twice about protecting herself. She never had any regard about protecting herself, since she knew she was doing good and that's all she wanted to do.

Now, (Y/N) was quirkless- that was a given- but she always had a drive to be like a hero. She was strong, courageous, brave, fierce, all the aspects you needed to be a hero, and yet... She knew she could never be one. Without a quirk, she knew she would have to live a normal life, which wasn't what she wanted. She wanted action, adventure- she wanted to be able to save those who couldn't save themselves. To help them, and bring them that protection that they needed.

But knowing she could never be that hero, she didn't care. Surprisingly enough, (Y/N) loved being who she was, despite not being able to live her dreams. She was okay with it, and why? Because she didn't want to save people in the spotlight. Instead, she loved to do the little things that mattered most to people. Whether it was just helping out charity events, baking a cake/cookies to a peer that was feeling down, spending time to read to little kids, or even volunteering to just about every event she could. (Y/N) wanted to make a difference by those little things, because she knew that the pros would never think twice of them.

But... It was those little things and her kindness that seemed to bring her trouble,

"Just let me go!" She yelled out to the group of boys standing in front of her. They were taunting her, trying to pry into her personal space with their lewd comments,

"Don't be a b*tch about it," the leading boy in front of her commented as he reached his hand out, grabbing a fistful of hair, yanking it downward. (Y/N) let out a bit of a cry, but despite the pain, she reached her arm out quickly, swiping something from the boy's pocket without anyone seeing.

Though her actions went unnoticed, her little cry didn't as it seemed to attract the attention of a certain little dark birdie boy, Tokoyami. Just as she let out her cry, Tokoyami, who had just been strolling down the street in hopes of relaxing from his harsh internship exercises, seemed to notice the cry as his head perked up. Glancing around, his hero instincts kicked in and he follows the sound. As he turned the corner, he noticed the girl being held back by the group of boys, and instantly he became concerned.

About to step in and intervene, he was drawn back as he watched the girl take full action against the group.

As (Y/N) grew frustrated with being in the group's hold, she threw her elbow forward, hitting the leading boy right in the 'no-no square'. With that, it was his turn to let out a cry as he released his grip on the girl's hair before falling down to the ground. (Y/N) smirked a bit at this, but then turned to the three other boys, seeing them glaring at her, readying themselves to fight. But without another thought, she tucked the item she had in hand into her shirt, and then threw a punch at one of the boys, hitting him right in the jaw. As he stumbled back, she took the opportunity to swing at another boy, this time hitting him in the chest, but in the process she managed to get a slap to the face from the extra guy.

Spitting out some spit she had piled in her mouth, she looked to the boy, "Hasn't your mom ever told you not to hit a girl?"

"As if I'd consider you a girl," he remarked, blindly throwing a punch at her, hitting her in the shoulder this time. Stumbling back a bit, she gritted her teeth before kicking her foot as hard as she could at him, hitting his side. Just as he fell down a bit, his hands going instantly to his side, she felt a pair of hands grabbing at her hair again and pulling it back.

Falling back, she saw the third boy standing there on top of her, looking down at her with a smirk. She growled at him a bit, swinging her leg up and hitting him in the 'no-no square' as well, since it was an open shot.

Seeing most of them trying to recover then from the hits, she stumbled up to her feet and within seconds she was sprinting away from them.

That was another thing about (Y/N): despite her kind pursuit in life and good intentions, she was a fighter secretly. Being one of the quiet ones in class, she only showed kindness to everyone, but if she was put up against evil or something awful, she didn't ever hesitate to fight back. She stood her ground and kept on pushing, despite getting injured.

And Tokoyami seemed to notice this as she ran past him, not looking back to see that he had unknowingly begun to follow her. Following her twisty route, he seized his sprint after her as he saw her coming to a stop. As she slowed her run, she spotted the person she had been looking for.

Reaching for the hidden object she had grabbed from the group of boys, she pulled it out, revealing a small sewn doll. Looking at the little girl who she watched get robbed of the doll, she saw the girl's eyes light up with joy as she spotted the doll.

(Y/N) smiled at the little girl as she came running up and grabbed the doll from the beaten up girl. As the girl thanked her, Tokoyami realized once more than this (h/c) haired girl had no regard with her well-being. He began to realize that this girl didn't care about how she ended up, she wanted to help others, and this is what intrigued him. He was growing so curious of her and how she could just do that, putting herself into danger like that to better someone else.

But then again, he thought, Midoriya and the others do that as well

But, it was that moment that made him wonder about the girl, and how she wasn't a hero or wanting to be a hero like him. And, as weird as it may be, he wanted to know more, so he began to follow her. He wasn't a stalker, no, but he did want to run into the girl more often, as he wanted to just know more of her.

He watched her then from that day, wishing to know more about who she was and why she did what she did. From the little things like helping the elders cross the road to running out into traffic to save defenseless animals from being hit, he began to slowly worry about her safety. He'd come to realize that she did the small things that most people overlook, and it worried him. She put others way before herself, not even worrying about what would happen to her if she got hit by one of those cars or had lost those fights against the bullies.

But she knew what she was doing.

(Y/N) knew the danger she put herself in, and knew the bad outcomes of it all, yet she continued. She trusted herself so much so that she continued with her rather reckless behaviour. She believed that it was fine, it was something she had to do. I mean, she knew that so far, with all the danger she's been through, she's come out fine. (Y/N) began to think that maybe her quirk was 'luck' with all the crap she's done and turned out somewhat fine. But, then again, 'luck' probably wouldn't even allow her to get where she gets, so that couldn't be it.

But with all the danger she faced, (Y/N) equalled it out with kindness, as it always seemed to help someone out.

Even so, Tokoyami began to grow worry over her, and his original intentions began to change.

Over the course of about a month, he'd gone from wanting to know more about her to wanting to protect her. And with that, she began to notice as well. She'd known of the boy since the beginning, when she ran past him after the bully incident, and took interest in him as well From the attack, she took notice of his little appearances during her dangerous stunts, and grew a bit fond of how he would do little things to help protect her from the dangers.

And that's why she was at the park. Weird transition to it, but-

Since her discovery of the boy, she decided that it was best to make a little 'thank you' in return for his help. That's why she's sitting here, on a park bench, crocheting a little doll of the boy, trying to remember the details of him. She managed to find out a bit about him, mostly just how he's interning for Hawks, nothing else. But from the article, she found a blurry picture that helped her a little, but she still had to remember more details of him.

With each loop and stitch of the doll, she eventually finished her week long work on the doll. Tying it off and checking it over once more, she smiled at the work she had took so much time to do.

And work that was being admired from a distance, under a small tree in the park.

From a distance, Tokoyami admired the little doll the girl had made, watching as she smiled at the work and hugged it over. Smiling to himself, he hadn't noticed but Dark Shadow had managed to come out, looking over Tokoyami's shoulder at the girl. Dark Shadow himself smiled at the doll as well, even peaking a bit more from Tokoyami, which began to worry the boy as he feared of getting caught....

Which was kind of destined to happen.

As Tokoyami and Dark Shadow argued a little, their voices getting a bit louder with each sentence, it seemed to alarm the girl as she spotted the boy she'd come to admire sitting there with a demon-like bird attached to him.

Panicking a bit as she didn't want him to see the doll yet, as it wasn't wrapped or anything of that sort, she started to pack up her stuff quickly, only to see the bird boy coming her way,

"Wait- wait-" he called out, rushing a bit to her, she quickly stuffed the doll into her bag before throwing it to the side of the bench, turning around to see the boy, "Uh- sorry- I-"

"You've been following me around," she confronted and instantly a red hue spread across the boy's face (or beak?),

"I apologize I-"

"Don't apologize, I appreciate it," (Y/N) smiled at him before letting it fall a bit to a look of gratitude, "You were following me around to help me, right?"

"Yeah... Something like that-"

"" A smaller voice chimed out and suddenly Dark Shadow appeared once more from Tokoyami's back, in a smaller form, but this caused (Y/N) to jump a little in fright. Staggering back a little, she looked at the thing with fear in her eyes, not understanding what it was. But she relaxed quite a lot when she saw Tokoyami glaring at the small shadow attached to him, gritting his teeth at the thing,

"Dark Shadow... Now is not the time," he said through his teeth before turning back to the frightened (e/c) eyed girl, "My apologies for him. I swear he's friendly, just... Not at night,"

(Y/N) calmed down once more, sitting up straight on the bench now as she stared at the little being, seeing how it looked rather cute. She didn't reach out to touch, as much as she wanted to, but instead turned to Tokoyami with curiousity, "What's his name?"

"Dark Shadow. He's my quirk," he answered, glancing over to the shadow on his shoulder before looking back to the girl in front of him,

"That's very creative," she snickered a little but gave the shadow a smile, "But it's nice to meet you," She backed away a little sticking her hand out to Tokoyami, "And it's nice to finally meet you as well. The names (Y/N) (L/N),"

He took her hand, a bit hesitant, "Fumikage Tokoyami,"

"Fumikage..." She repeated, making sure she could say it properly, since words can be hard. But, hearing his name come from her, it was almost as if he melted right there and then. Her voice sounded so sweet and smooth as she spoke, that it was like he was put into a trance.

But he was soon snapped out of that trance when she spoke up again, "So... About the shadow's comment,"

Tokoyami instantly made the face of 'oh crap' as she brought up the thing he wish he could've dodged, "About it..."

"I like you too," (Y/N) openly said, her face flushing red as she almost instantly regretted her bold confession. It was off of her, and definitely not something she'd ever do, despite her being the same person who would run off into traffic. She was even surprise by her open words, but she didn't waste a breath with it as she said it to the cute bird boy that sat in front of her.
