《Devil in My Heart》Meet The Sage

"Argh!!! I didn't know why I became this weak in the human world." Lucien flies and falls in front of the temple after fighting Kiran. Before he fell unconscious, he hid his wings. At that time, there was a wise ascetic who lived in the temple on top of the mountain with the charm of beautiful and calm scenery. The ascetic did not have many disciples, but the disciples were devoted and diligently practiced following the instructions of their master. The occupants of the temple were all males. At that time, the disciple of the hermit was about to sweep up the fallen leaves. He came out of the temple and headed to the backyard. He was surprised to see a human figure who was lying on his stomach. He then turned around and saw that he was injured. Immediately he went to his master to tell him what he saw.
"Master, I found people lying in the backyard."
"I'll check it out. Tell the others to take the stretcher too."
"Okay master."
The ascetic checked his pulse and was shocked. Then he ordered his disciple to take him inside. "Many external injuries and no serious injuries. Enough rest will soon recover. Please take care of him." The ascetic said softly to his disciple.
"Okay master." Answer the disciple.
That night, Lucien woke up.
"Where am I?" he muttered. "He got up and looked around. A spacious and simple room. He turned to his left and looked out the window. He can see trees and hills. Even though it was dark at night, his eyes were able to see clearly. Lucien found himself in bandages all over his body, waist, arms, and legs. Not long after, the disciple entered and saw Lucien was sitting.

"Are you awake?" said the disciple.
"Yes. Where am I?"
"It's a temple."
"Temple?"
"Yes. This is a place for us to meditate and let go of our worldly life."
"Ooooh..."
"Is that you treated my wound?"
"Master and also other disciples."
"Thank you," Lucien replied.
"Who is sir? Why did you get injured?"
"Phew..." Lucien took a deep breath. "Because of a misunderstanding." he continued.
"It's a shame then. Fine. I'll tell the master; you already woke up."
Lucien nodded.
After the disciple left, Lucien said to himself, "At least I can rest here for a while."
The wise hermit came in to see Lucien's condition, "How are you?"
"It's fine. It's all thanks to the master, thank you." Lucien saluted by cupping his hands and bowing slightly."
The master lifted his body, "No need to hesitate."
"Master, can I stay here and train myself?"
The master gasped and then nodded his head. "This shrine is open to anyone who wants to practice."
"Thank you, master."
On the other hand, at the Tyrone residence.
"Where's Lucien?" shouted Tyrone.
"Lucien was not found, sir. He wasn't in his castle. The maid said, since yesterday he hasn't come home."
Tyrone pounded his fist on the handle of his throne chair until it cracked, "Actually where are you, Lucien?"
Tyrone is worried that Lucien has left him, aside from feeling annoyed, but he feels sad because he lost Lucien.
Lucien is in the shrine developing inner calm. One year has passed since that incident. On a peaceful morning, Lucien looked up at the expanse of lush trees and the blue sky. Birds fly freely in the sky. Then the master came to him,

"Beautiful spring with flowers blooming. Butterflies fly between trees and flowers.
The stars are sprinkled in the summer with the crickets singing.
The moon is silent with the autumn wind blowing.
The white expanse of snow that stretches out."
Then the sage continued, "All seasons have their beauty in their own way. We should be able to accept any condition, pleasant or unpleasant gracefully, and be grateful for this life."
Seeing the sage arrive, Lucien saluted and said, "An enlightening advice."
"Master, I'm having a hard time concentrating," Lucien said.
"The rippling water makes us unable to see clearly. Only with a calm mind, we can see it clearly. At first, we have as many thoughts as the clouds that appear. Sometimes we are aware of its arising, but we are not aware of it passing away, so we regard it as eternal. The passing clouds were like thought formations. It appears and disappears. We see it from here like something solid, but in reality, we can't grasp it."
"All phenomena of existence arise and pass away. Nothing lasts forever. Everything impermanent is unsatisfactory. Everything impermanent and unsatisfactory like that is not worthy of being called this is self, this is mine, and this is me."
"Realize the emptiness of all things. Empty of eternity, empty of satisfaction, and empty of me (ego). With such a right view, one will destroy attachment. He will be free from suffering and feel true peace."
"As the mind develops, it is like a clear sky. He will feel silence and freedom. A mind that is firm as a mountain is immovable."
"
"Live harmoniously side by side without harming other beings. This is the ascetic way of life. Protect those who need protection, and defend the weak. Now you have taken refuge through this Great Teaching and spread the path of goodness wherever you are."
Lucien got inspired. "Thank you, master. It is noble and enlightening teaching. I will take it as a guide in my life and actively practice meditation." He thanked the master while cupping his palms and bowing respectfully.
In the forest of the Tyrone region. The snake demon leaned against a tree branch and thought about Lucien's whereabouts. It's been one year. Then a crow alighted on the ground and transformed into a human form kneeling on one knee.
"Your Majesty. I have received information where Lucien now lives."
"What?" Tyrone was shocked. "Tell me, where is he?"
"He is in the shrine on top of the mountain. He is building himself on an ascetic. His daily life is mostly meditating."
"Oh..." Tyrone was silent as if letting Lucien.
"Okay, you can go. Good work." Said Tyrone who was satisfied with the information which his servant gave him.
"Yes sir." The servant left soon.
"I can't meet him now, because soon I will undergo austerities and enter a period of skin turnover. After that, I will meet him," Tyrone muttered.
Seven months had passed, and Tyrone had almost completed his hermitage. But at that time, several demon gangs were dissatisfied with Tyrone's power and intended to rebel. They gather demons who agree with them. At that time the crows knew about this rebellion plan.
"It's bad!!! They want to attack the lord when the lord is molting. I must tell Lucien about this.
