《Devil in My Heart》Fairy

I entered a beautiful forest with a small wooden housing. A ray of light shone through the trees and the birds chirped, revealing the beauty of this forest. The calm atmosphere makes visitors want to linger here. Then I crossed the village and entered the dense forest. I was amazed by the scenery that nature gave me. Looking around, I only found myself alone. I then sat and enjoyed the calm and peaceful natural atmosphere while lying down and breathing in the fresh air. I feel like I'm looking at a painting of the sky where the clouds form soft strokes.
"Relieves..."
I forgot about my sadness for a moment. The sound of the wind rustling in the trees made me drift away. Being immersed in the relaxation of nature and tired from the journey, I fell asleep.
When Ryana was sleeping, several small children were talking.
"Hey. Look there's a human," said the first child.
"Is she a good person?" said the second child.
"She's pretty too." Said the third child.
Then Ryana woke up.
"Hoaaahm..." I opened my eyes. The little children then walked away. I saw a small child. Then I opened my eyes wide. There were three cute little children separated from each other, some behind a tree, behind a bush, and some on a branch. I then greeted them, "Hi." They were silent. "It seems they are afraid. Do I look like a criminal?" I muttered.
I stood up and went forward to introduce myself, "Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Ryana. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person. You can see how I look."
The children saw Ryana's appearance wearing a black robe and a sword on her waist.
"Eh??" I was awkward too.
"Looks like she's fine." Said one of the boys who jumped from a tree branch and came over to me.
"What's your name, son?" asked me.
"I'm not a kid anymore. I have lived a long time even beyond your years."
"Hah???? Really? I was confused. Who are you?" I asked.
Then one girl flashed out of the bushes and flew away saying, "We are fairies."
"Fairy? Wow." I said in amazement.
The cheerful-looking fairy approached me and said, "I am Adhara. While this male elf is Wezen. And behind the tree is Aludra. Aludra, come here."
Aludra came closer and said hello, "Hi..."
I waved at her and smiled.
"It seems she's shy and the other one looks cool," I muttered.

"How long have you all lived here?"
"We've been here 80 years."
"What??!!" I was shocked.
"Are you family?"
"Yes, all the fairies in this forest are family," Wezen said.
"I love this forest. Peaceful and fresh. Hehe..."
"Thank you," Adhara said.
Let me take you to our house.
"Wow. Is it allowed?" I spoke.
"Of course," Adhara said.
Then the four of us headed for the fairy's place. We passed the dense trees that towered over, the clear river flowing.
"Really beautiful." I'm fascinated.
"Usually we fly straight away, but since you're there, we have to show the way," Wezen said.
"Hehehe sorry."
"It does not matter. This way, we can enjoy the trip more." Reply Wezen.
"I thought he was going to grumble again, but he's enjoying it too." That's what's on my mind.
"After crossing a small bridge and a path, we will arrive." Said Aludra.
"Finally, she spoke too." my mind.
"Oh, yes? I'm getting impatient." I told them.
After going through it....
"Tarrraaa.... We have arrived," greeted Adhara.
"Wow... How amazing." I spoke. I was mesmerized by the view. Tree houses, waterfalls, small flowing rivers, flower beds, there are also animals grazing. The fairies fly like butterflies."
"Very beautiful," I answered.
"Please come in," Wezen said.
"Their bodies are like those of a child," I muttered.
I was invited to go around. But when they introduced me to other fairies, they didn't seem to like it.
"Why did you bring humans? Don't you know that they are greedy and cut down our hundreds of years old tree?"
"But she's a good person," Adhara said.
"We can't believe it." Said the other fairy.
"Um... Sorry. Take it easy. I'm not here to do anything." I told them. Then they left.
"Huft... I took a deep breath. Then I turned to them, "I'm sorry. Because of my arrival, you all have become difficult."
"It does not matter." Say the three of them.
Night came. The lights between the trees lit up. I saw the sky with the same stars as where I lived before. It's just that it's crowded here. I saw the fairies glow with each aura. There are glowing with white, green, blue, red, purple, yellow, and orange.
Adhara approached me with a red color.
"Is there anything you have in mind? Why can you wander alone?"

I was shocked too. "That's I want to find the truth about my family. Since my foster mother died, I've been living alone. I also live in a simple tree house like you, it's just that I live alone. Then I entered as a royal soldier, then left the kingdom to wander."
"You've come a long way," Adhara said.
"Sometimes I want to give up, I feel like a failure. But on the other hand, I was compelled to put in the effort to the very end even though I knew it was almost impossible as if I was chasing an empty hope. Because I believed in my abilities, that's why I kept trying. But sometimes, I felt hopeless. I fear that this effort will be in vain. When I fail, I suffer. Yes, I realized I was attached. It's my attachment that makes me suffer," explained me.
I was silent for a moment and suddenly Adhara hugged me. I was shocked and she spoke, "Look at this big tree towering over us and densely shading us. It used to be a small seed, a small shoot until finally, it was big and sturdy. The strong roots supported it. Strong winds could not knock it down. This tree has come a long way. Likewise, our willpower is like the root of the tree. We must have a strong determination not to give up. Even though we are faced with failure, we keep moving forward. Failure is normal, but if we can accept and evaluate it, it's just extraordinary."
"It's inspiring. You are right. When we are trying and put an effort, there is satisfaction there whether it fails or succeeds. It's better to try than not to do at all and stop halfway. Thank you Adhara for your advice." Ryana returned the hug.
Then suddenly, Wezen and Aludra approached.
"Did we miss something?" said Aludra with a white aura light.
"Looks like you two are having a good time?" Wezen said with a golden yellow aura.
"You two look beautiful with each other's shining auras," I speak.
"Hey, how about we go over there." Invite Wezen.
"Oh. Good idea." Aludra said.
"Where do you want to take me?"
"We will see. But it's getting late, we have to rest." Adhara said.
"Yeah... Alright," replied them both.
The next morning, we passed the cave behind the waterfall. Stalactites and stalagmites in the cave are colorful. After walking down the cave, there is a light at the end which is the exit. I was fascinated by the beauty of this fairyland. The vast expanse of flowers and the clear expanse of the sky also the fresh air.
"Thank you, fairies for bringing me here," I spoke.
We went down the stairs and headed there.
While playing, I saw another forest, and asked, "There is another forest, does anyone live?"
"That we call the magic forest," Wezen said.
"That's just what you call it," Adhara said.
"There is not any. But there is a living tree. We don't want to bother him with our fuss. But occasionally we come to visit." Said Aludra.
"Do you want to go there?" Wezen asked.
"Is it allowed?" I said enthusiastically.
"Your expression has been read," he said.
"Hehehe..."
We also walked into the forest, as usual, the sound of birds chirping and the wind rustling like a melody.
"That's the tree," Aludra said while pointing at it.
A very large tree with a trunk and strong branches also lush leaves. There was a pair of closed eyes on the trunk of the tree, and it was also seen that the tree was hundreds of years old. I was amazed too. Suddenly he opened his eyes.
"Welcome human."
I was surprised, he can talk. Then I replied, "Y...Yes. Thank you for the greeting."
The tree picked the fruit by moving its branches like a hand and then gave the fruit to me. I was amazed and joyful when I saw something I had never seen before and said, "Thank you, tree god." I spontaneously pronounce it as a tree god. The tree god also gave the fruit to the other fairies.
The tree god said, "Remember that this life is a process of growth and development, and then passed away. As long as we live, we should give so that life becomes meaningful and useful for others. Just like lighting one lamp into another, the light of a lamp will not decrease if it is divided but will bring brightness. When one dies, one will die with a happy mind remembering the good deeds one has done. And the afterlife, he is happy too."
"Well, tree god. Your message will be engraved in my heart. Thank you for the tree god's advice," said Ryana.
We went back out. But suddenly another fairy said, "It's terrible. The human is coming again."
We were surprised to hear that.

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
