Naib groaned as he woke up this morning. Everyone received a letter the night prior announcing a new survivor joining them today. He was praying he didn't get matched with them until they learned how to kite or avoid the hunter at the very least. Having to deal with new survivors who don't know Jack shit is absolutely annoying to him. What pissed off the mercenary even more was the knocking on his door, a voice called out to him to let him know that breakfast was being served and he should be in the library by 10 am for the new survivor.
The mercenary paid no attention to it and rolled off his bed. Cracking his bones as he went over to his closet, opening the cabinet, he pulled out his everyday sleeveless green hoodie. Thrusting his arms into the holes, grabbing a hair elastic from the top of his dresser, Naib tied up his his into a low ponytail letting a few loose strands. Pulling up his hood, he left his room making sure it's locked.
By the time the mercenary has made it to the dining hall, there was only a few staglers left about to leave. Naib grabbed his plate and ate with silence, nobody around him as most people knew it's better to leave him alone, except for one person:
"My god you're finally awake." The brunette turned his head around to see the Seer standing to his left. His owl on his shoulder hooting in Joyce.
"Hello Eli." He replied shoving a mouthful of pancakes into his mouth to avoid further talking.
"I heard the new survivor is from London, and a female too." The seer didn't leave Naib's side the entire time while he ate, off on his side playing around with his owl. Naib, being the slick guy he is, tried to slip away from Eli before the meeting hoping he can skip it. Just as he turned around to leave he felt the tug on his hoodie as the seer dragged him back towards the library. Despite being military trained, Eli's grasp is something to not mess with after all, he has a owl who can peak your eyes out too.
After the drag, Eli forced the mercenary to sit down on the couch beside him. Naib grumbled as he stared off to the distance waiting for it to be over. For the next five minutes, all of the survivors stood around in small talk waiting for Emily to walk in. And finally, the doors opened to reveal the doctor with a girl with long wavy black hair trialing behind her shyly.
The survivor wore a light blue tinted hat with a green ribbon attaches, a matching colored Victorian styled blouse. Her sleeves long as anything with a small ribbon on the front. She wore a decently long skirt length of a dress that reached to the bottom of her knees where her brown boots stopped at. A pair of glasses stood on her nose, and what peaked naib the most, was the slightly mismatched colored eyes. And upon closer inspection, he noticed a scar on her right side. A cut clean enough to get from maybe a sharp object or somewhat closely sharp object hitting her eye.

"Everyone this is the new survivor. The librarian." The doctor said loud enough for everyone to hear. The librarian did a awkward little hi and stuttered put her name.
"My names ________, I was born in London." She said quietly, Eli was the first to break the awkward silence by walking to her side.
"Nice to meet you _______. My name is Eli Clark, and this is Brooke!" Eli and his owl gave her a welcoming smile. "Let me show you around." The deer held his hand out for her to grab, hesitantly, _______ accepted it. Naib was a tad bit upset that basically one of his only friends isn't going to be around with him but there's nothing to complain, he had a match that starts in a few minutes and had to leave as soon as possible.
Eli walked down the hallways, pointing out everything to the new survivor, the dining hall, the board for matches, the garden etc. They walked in silence as they reached the dorm hallway.
"And here is your room. Mines 2 doors down on your right so if you need anything feel free to knock!" Eli left the survivor alone as she stood by her door. Sighing to herself, she opened it carrying her suit case inside. Observing the small room, she noticed the single bed in the corner next to a desk, a lamp sitting on its top covered in a small layer of dust. A cabinet stood at the end of the bed to hang her clothes, and a door leading to her bathroom that was also very very cramped. Plastering her case onto her bed, the female unclipped the sides pulling out her clothes out, hanging the few she brought into the cabinet. After that was done, she pulled out the few books she brought with her. Stacking them on the table in the corner of the room, the dusted off anything she found dirty.
"Hey _____? We have a match coming up soon!" The librarian shook as the seer opened her door.
"Match..?" She said quietly, Eli nodded grabbing her hand to drag her out of the dark room. Racing down to the main hallway, they reached the board with all of the scheduled matches of the day. Eli was scanning for his name until he found it.
"Aha! Here we go...You, me, Naib and Norton. It starts in 15 minutes let's go to the lobby!" Eli held his hand out for the survivor to take, leading her to the lobby where they prep for the match. The seer was nice enough to explain everything and how the 'game' worked. We sat in the lobby, I was on the far left at the end of the table, Eli and The prospector to my left, and the mercenary sitting alone at the end of the table. I start to twiddle my fingers in fear of what 'hunter' will show up, Eli was quick to grasp my hand to help me calm down.
"It'll be okay, we promise we'll protect you as much as we can. Norton here is a really good kiter and so is Naib! If the hunter runs into them first they can distract them for a really long time!" Eli gave her a big smile, she felt confident with how persistent the seer was and nodded her head. As she was grasping his hand, her vision was knocked out cold and the sounds of glass cracking filled the silence.

The librarian woke up on a snowy map, the cold seeping into her body as she stood up. Rubbing her hands on her arms she slowly walked over to a building the resembled a shed or storage room at most hoping for some warmth. Upon stepping in, she was blasted with a eerie kind of warmth. Pulling out the book she carried, she shuffled through the pages as Eli has said, to get decoding speed buffs?? It doesn't matter after shuffling for a while the librarian gave up not knowing what to do. She attached herself onto the machine as she typed away. For a while it was just herself standing there, When she heard a noise pop off in the back. Glancing upwards she saw a cipher go off that was covered in orange. Finishing the one she was on, she popped it, glancing around to find another cipher outside, out in the cold. Shrugging off her fear, the librarian walked out slowly peeping around the door for anyone nearby.
In the distance she can see a tall man in a very long ponytail chasing what appeared to be Norton, a notification went off on her pad that said that Norton has been containing the hunter for 2 minutes now. She felt bad that he was getting chased around but it helped ease her to know he's at full health. Another cipher popped in the distance which reminded her of her mission, taking a deep breath, she walked out in the snow. The cold creeping onto her skin as she made it further to the cipher. As she started to decode, a presence was felt nearby, quickly finishing a calibration she turned around to see the mercenary running up to her. The man didn't say a word as he attached himself to the cipher and started to decode. Understanding that he didn't want to talk, the survivor went back to decoding quietly.
"You're awfully quiet for a newcomer." The merc blurted out quietly. The female stopped for a second as she processed his words.
"I- I'm not one to talk, people often...don't want to be around me..." the female responded quietly, Naib simply nodded his head and said he was going to go find another cipher to decode on, most likely wanting to be alone again. As time went by, the cold started to deep in even more, the machine was cold to touch with the ice and frost all over the surface, and as more ciphers when off in the background, she popped her cipher just as she fainted. The survivor had collapsed right next the machine as the sirens went off signalling the doors are able to be opened now.

Naib and Eli stood in confusion, they've been at the gate for a good 3 minutes now with Norton arriving earlier after getting Wu Chang off his tail. There was still so sign of their 4th teammate.
"Did you tell her about the gates?" Norton asks as he caught his breath.
"I explained the whole game to her I don't understand where she is..." Eli stood there, guilt started to rise in him for not bothering to find you as soon as the game started. She insisted that she can do it alone and it'll speed up the cipher rush but it was eating him up inside.
"Why haven't you left yet?" The white guard asked after teleporting over to the gate there at.
"We don't know where our other teammates at." Eli said quietly, it's been way too long, to the point that the detention of the hunter had run out as well.
"Go find her, this match is yours for the win anyways. I'll help look around as well." The 3 nodded their heads as they left the gate leaving Naib alone to stand there. He thought for the longest time on where you could've been and it clicked.
The cipher where he ran into you.
That was the only logical thing he can come out with and soon he quickly dashed to the other side of the map by the other gate. Lo and behold he found the body out cold by the machine, Naib quickly touched her cheek to check if she's awake only to find freezing cold skin. The mercenary quickly took off his hoodie and wrapped it around the girls body, picking her up he quickly pinged everyone to head back over to the gates. Arriving as soon as he can, he saw the worried looks on everyones faces.
"We better get her to the infirmary soon. I'm not sure how long she's been there but it's been too long to count for anything good." The survivors quickly ram out of the gates bidding Bi'an goodbye.
꧁ꕥ꧂
"Emily where are you?!" Naib yelled out loud as soon as they entered the manor. The doctor quickly ran over to the sight of a passed out girl.
"Take her to the infirmary, make sure her body is under thick covers!" She yelled as Naib raced over to the room. Emily was quick to get her to heat up, she made sure there was enough heat under her covers to warm up her body again.
"How long?" She asked.
"I'm not sure. She was by a cipher where I left her." Naib whispered quietly. He felt bad that his teammate came to this condition when he could've helped. He could've done something to help prevent what happened.
"It's not your fault Naib...she'll wake up again trust me." Eli patted his back as he left the room, knowing the man most likely wanted to be alone. Naib sat by her side the whole night, waiting for her to wake up again soon.
