《my brothers best friend》Special Surprise

The next morning, I wake up to Samuel rubbing my shoulder.
"Morning sunshine. Get dressed I've got a surprise!" Samuel exclaims. He picks me up and sits me on the end of the bed. But before I could question him, he ran downstairs. I got up and got dressed.
We walked out to his truck. "Where are you taking me too?" I ask. He smiles big.
I get into the truck and we drive to the nearby pet store. I look at him with big eyes.
We walk in and he drags me to one section, the bunny section. My mouth drops.
"Pick one" Samuel says smiling at them, then at me.
"Really!?" I happily shout at him.
"Shhh, shh, yes babe, I know how much you've wanted one since you were a kid," He continued, "Which one?"
I look through the glass windows and see one looking at me, with food hanging out of its mouth. I show Sam, and we laugh. He gets someone's attention, so we can take a closer look at it.
The employees place it on the floor and I sit down by the bunny. It ran up to me and climbed into my lap and spinners in circles. It was so cute.
"You like it?" Samuel asked. I nod my head in excitement.
"This one." Samuel says.
They say it's a baby boy and that it's only 3 months old. The employees ask if I want that one, but I turn to Samuel.
"Will mom be okay with it?" I asked him.
"Of course. I actually called her in advance yesterday. She said it would be fine, and that you really deserve it after everything." Samuel explained.
"Yay!" I say.

I was so happy. On the drive back home I was thinking of names.

Me and Sam sat on the couch and played with the bunny.
"Chewy" I said, finally deciding on a name.
"So Chewy, huh, there ain't gonna be any competition" Samuel jokes.
"Thanks so much, I love him!" I say as I place Chewy in his cage.
He looked at me, and I asked him, "Um, when did you ask mom if I could get a bunny?"
"Yesterday, why?" He responded.
"I mean, don't you think she'd get suspicious if she knew that you wanted to get me a bunny, like you know what I mean?" I respond
"Well, she wasn't suspicious at all, she said that you really wanted one, so I thought I'd get you one." He said.
"Oh, okay, in that case, we're good." I said in relief that mom wasn't getting suspicious.
"Are you worried she was gonna find out?" He asks.
"Well no, but you know, we're gonna have to tell her one day..." I said worried.
"Hey, hey," He said sitting closer to me and wrapping his arm around my shoulders, "it's gonna be okay. For now, let's enjoy our time right now"

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
