It was a few days later. Me and Samuel have been hanging out. When mom goes out. When dad works late. Even when Shawn's just passed out. We went bowling, to the movie theaters, and long rides in the outside town.

Today me and Samuel we're going into town for some grub. However, mom and dad cane back early from their appointment. I didn't know what it was for, but i hoped it gave me and Samuel time. Apparently not.

"I was gonna call, but i thought it be better to come. We decided to send Shawn into rehab, but, it's in New Jersey. And we don't want him to go alone. At least not for now. So me and dad are going with him for the first two weeks. But Sarah, we thought you could stay here with grandma Mabel. And Samuel, the people at the rehab center thought it would be best for only us to go. Sorry" Mom said looking at both of us.

"Mom you cant be serious. I'm old enough, I can be here by myself. I'm 16. And no Samuel doesn't have to leave. Y'all will be back in two weeks, not that long"

Mom and dad look at each other in desperation. Me and Samuel each other questioning what to do.

"Okay well you are very responsible, so we won't get Mabel, but Samuel did promise he'd stay here till Shawn gets better so, you both can stay here," Mom said and stared blankly at both of us, "I can trust you two, so don't make me regret it"

"You got it. Well keep the house clean, buy groceries. Everything. Thanks so much" Samuel said to mom, and hugged her.

"Thanks so much," I said too joined in in the hug.

"Now, we leave tomorrow afternoon, so let's have a dinner" Mom says and we all gather around the table.
