Sanam's POV
I was around the pool area, checking the arrangements when I heard Warisha's scream and splashing noise of water. I turned towards the pool direction and saw Sahil inside the pool. I laughed seeing him there. This must be Warisha! Usi ne hi giraya hoga ise.
I was just about to turn, knowing that Sahil can swim so he won't need any help but then I saw another figure in the pool that just made my heart stop.
"Warisha!" I screamed running towards the pool. She was struggling to come up but failing because she doesn't know how to swim!
"Sahil! She can't swim! HELP HER! " I called out but because of all noises around he couldn't hear me and was getting out without noticing Warisha's drowning figure.
I dived in without thinking for a second and got near her. I held her hand and pulled her up the water level so she could breathe. She gasped taking in a huge amount of air and wrapped her arms around my shoulder tightly.
"Theek ho tum? You're okay? " I asked her impatiently.
She nodded, still holding me. Her breaths were rugged and I could feel her heart beating rapidly.
"Get me out, Sanam." She said taking short breaths.
I nodded. Sahil also came to help her, "I'm so sorry Warisha. I didn't know that you can't swim." He apologized.
We got her out from the pool.
"I'm so sorry, Warisha."
"It's ok-"
"Yeh kaisa mazak tha, Sahil? Use kuch ho jata toh? Aur tune ek baar yeh tak nahi dekhne ka socha that she's fine or not? Khud nikal gaya! " I said angrily.
"Sanam yaar-" Sahil was saying something but Warisha interrupted him, "Sanam, uski galti nahi thi. Maine use dhakka diya tha."
"Because you knew that he can swim! " then I looked at Sahil, "aur tune khud soch liya that she can swim? Sahil, tu itna immature kaise hosakta hai? "
"Don't be biased, Sanam! " Warisha spat. "Theek hu na main? Use mat daanto."
I looked at her with concern and Sahil said, "Nahi, Warisha, Sanam is right. Mujhe tumhe apne saath pool me nahi kheechna chahiye tha. Knowing that the water is deep. Tumhe kuch ho jata toh? " he sounded really guilty.
"Iske rehte mujhe kaise kuch hosakta hai?" She replied looking at me with a smile. "I know, Sanam ke rehte mujhe kuch nahi hosakta."
"Kuch hone bhi nahi dunga tumhe. Samjhi? " I said firmly.
She nodded like a kid, "Ji haan. Samajh gayi."
Sahil and I laughed, "Chalo ab."
"Yeh kaise chalegi?" Sahil said, "She's shivering because of trauma. Kahi geer ke sar na phodle! "
"Sanam, dekho! Phir start hogaya yeh! " Warisha complained like a pouty kid.
"Sahil.." I said sternly.
"Acha sorry but mere irada nek tha, okay? Dekh to use! Kaanp rahi hai dar se."
I looked at her. Indeed, she was shivering because of that incident. "Baat to sahi hai." I agreed. "Aur aaj to Samar ki shaadi ka pehla function hai. I don't wanna miss it because of your tutte phutte sar."

"Haww.. Mean." Warisha pouted.
I laughed again scooping her in my arms and she wrapped her arms around my shoulder, "Abhi bhi mean hu? "
She shook her head, "No, ab to ekdum cute."
"Aray... Kya hua Warisha ko?" Mom came to us, "Aur tum teeno bheege kyu ho? Warisha ko god me kyu uthaya hai, chot lagi kya use?" She asked worried.
Warisha was quite uneasy for being in my arms in front of mom. I didn't know what to say but thankfully Sahil did:
"Aunty, woh main aur Warisha hamesha ki tarah jhagad rahe the aur galti se woh pool main gir gayi.. Toh Sanam aur main use nikalne ke liye... "
Mom gasped holding his ear, "Hamesha use pareshan karta rehta hai.. Aur aaj toh!"
She looked at Warisha with soft, loving eyes, "Beta, tu theek to hai na? Lagi to nahi? " she asked her softly.
Warisha smiled, "Main theek hu aunty. Kuch nahi hua."
"Pakka na? Tu bol to doc-"
"Doctor ki koi zaroorat nahi hai aunty! " Warisha freaked out as usual with just mere mention of doctor.
"Acha.. Sanam jaldi leja ise kamre mein." She told me and then she said to her, "Aur tu bheege kapde jaldi badal lena.. Thand lag jayegi varna."
She nodded in yes and Sahil blurted, "Aunty..kapde to hamare bhi bheegi hai..hume to nahi bola!"
Mom narrowed her eyes at him, "tu muh band rakh aur jaa kuch kaam kar!" She scolded and then looking back at me, "Tu abhi bhi yahi hai. Jaldi jaa.. Warna bechari ko thand lag jayegi."
"Acha mummy.. Jaa raha hu." I said like a kid and started walking towards Suman's room. Seeing her smiling to herself I decided to tease her, "bada maza araha hai na mummy ko hume daanta hua dekh kar?"
"Woh to aa raha hai." She said cheekily.
I entered the room and kept her on bed. "Suman lagta hai dress up hone dusre kamre mein gayi hai." I thought aloud when I didn't find her around.
"Shayad."
I got a dry towel and stood in front of her. She stretched her hands out to take it but I held it back. She frowned at me when I started drying her hair.
"Sanam main khud kar sakti hu."
"Tum ek hi kaam ache se kar sakti ho, aur woh hai- khud ko mushkil mein daalna." I said dryly.
"Choro na, Sanam. Tum kya-"
I sat on my knees in front of her, "kya choru? Aaj tumhari jaan jaate-jaate bachi. Jab swimming aati nahi to pool ke pass dhakka-mukki karne ko kisne bola? "
"Sorry na baba."
"Kyu karti ho aisa, Warisha?" I asked her looking into her eyes, taking her hands in mine, "Kabhi stairs se geerna, kabhi kahi takrana... Aur aaj to hadd hi kardi tumne. Tumhe kuch hojata toh? "
"Tumhare saath rehte mujhe kuch hosakta hai kya? " she smiled.
"Mere saath rehte to tumhe kuch nahi hosakta.. I can't see anything bad happen to you and I'll do anything to stop you from getting hurt but hu to main insaan hi na." I said softly. "I can't control anything."
"Itna pyaar karte ho mujhse?"
I wanted her to know how much I love her and how I felt each time when I saw something bad coming to her; be it her small accidents of skipping stairs, or minor cuts... But today when I saw her drowning. I felt that my heart had stop beating. She was the one struggling to breathe but I felt as I was suffocating. The thought of something bad happening to her frightens me. I have experienced my life without her presence and I don't want that again. Ever. I wanted to say so much more, but all I could say was, "Bohout zyada."

Her eyes were getting teary but with a huge smile she said, "itna emotional hone ki koi zaroorat nahi hai mister. Main tumhe chor kar kahi nahi jaane wali."
"Pakka na?"
"Haa pakka. Aur agar mujhe God bhi bulaaye na.. To main unhe 'Time please' kehkar tumhare pass ajaungi."
"Warisha! Aaj keh diya hai.. Phirse mat kehna yeh! "
"Sanam... " she frowned, "tumne hi kaha na hum insaan hai. And everything in this world is lie but death is the ultimate truth."
"War-"
She presses her palm on my lips, interrupting my words, "and so is our love. " she said with a smile, holding my face in between her palms, "I haven't love anyone but you.. And I'll always love you and only you. I promise."
I brought her hand to my lips, kissing it softly, "I love you, too. I didn't even know when you became my life."
"Sanam... We can be an important part of someone's life but not life."
I rose up to her face level and keeping my hand on her cheek I said, "but you are my life and I'm incomplete without you."
"So am I." She said softly, wrapping her arms around me. I hugged her back.
Before this day, I never really realized that how important she was to me. I never really thought about my life without her because she was always around. And now, I want her with me forever.
I smiled to myself knowing what I'm going to do in coming days. What everyone was expecting me to do.

Warisha's POV
When I was inside the pool, not swimming but drowning and was fighting for each breath, I felt that this was all..that everything is going away from me, everything was fading from my sight. And then I saw him. Sanam. And the very second I knew that I'll be alright.
In room, when he said that he loves me a lot but his eyes said so much more. I saw love, and fear... Yes, I saw fear in the eyes of Fearless Sanam. Fear that he might lose me and would have to live without me. I can't imagine my life without then forget about living. I'd be a soulless body without him. Breathing but not living.
With all those thoughts running inside my mind I completed my look for the evening by wearing my stud earrings. I smiled looking at my reflection.
"Perfect!"
I was checking myself for one last time when there was a knock on the door and Disha Di came in.
"Warisha? Tu yahaan hai to phir Suman kaha hai?" She asked.
"I don't know, Di. I thought she was getting ready in some other room." I replied walking towards her.
"Is ladki ko na dulhan bankar bhi chain nahi hai. Sabko pareshan karna hai." She murmured while dialing someone's number in her phone and I giggled hearing that. "Haa, Meera?"
"...."
"Acha? Woh aa bhi gayi niche! Aur main yaha use lene aayi!"
"...."
"Haa, haa. You are Samar's favorite na, isliye. Dekhna jab Sanam ki shaadi hogi na tab uski dulhan k aas-pass bhi tumlogo aane nahi dungi. Sirf main rahungi!" Saying that she hung up the call.
She had a teasing smile on her face while looking at me. I raised my eyebrows at her and she shook her head with the same smile and said: "Niche chale?"
I nodded in yes, she held my arms walking down the stairs and in between we came face to face with Meera Di and Sanam.
"Dheere dheere chalo. Dekho to kis Disha mein jaa rahe ho."
"Don't you dare to crack pun on my name, Sanam!" Disha Di snapped at Sanam pointing her forefinger at him.
Meera Di and I giggled at the sight when Sanam raised his hands in surrender. Disha Di shook her head with narrowed eyes, "tera kuch nahi hosakta."
"Disha!" Meera di's word brought our attention to her.
"Haa bol?"
"Tune to kaha tha that tu Sanam ki shaadi mein uski dulhan k aas-pass kisi ko aane nahi degi?"
"Haa, kaha tha. Toh?"
Meera Di giggled before replying, "toh aaj se hi kyu start hogayi?"
Suddenly I found my surrounding very interesting and I moved my eyes admiring it. I could feel Sanam's confused gaze on me.
Both Meera and Disha Di were giggling and Disha Di winked, "Ache kaam ki shuruwat aaj se hi kardi."
"Excuse me?" Sanam intruded, "Yeh kya baatein horahi hai?"
"Tujhe nahi pata..?" Disha Di asked in sing a song tone.
Sanam shook his head in no and then nodded in yes.
All three of us girls looked at him with our eyes narrowed and a confused look on our face.
Getting that look from us, his signature crooked smile appeared on his lips.
"If you are done with giving your signature look then can we know the reason behind it?" Meera Di asked folding her arms over her chest, with a sarcastic smile.
With the same smile Sanam slowly started, "Shaadi ka toh pata nahi but...."
"But?"
Then he held my hand and pulled me away from there saying something that sounded, "aaj to ise main hi lekar jauga!"
While almost running down the stairs all I could heard was Meera Di and Disha di's laughter. I looked at Sanam with an unknown smile and he had his brightest smile that made his eyes reflect his happiness; that just multiplied mine.
