《Living My Fantasy》16. On a Cruise with Sanam

"What's that?!" We all looked at the direction where Venky was pointing.
I saw the Golden Dragon Cruise Ship that is a park property and yes, it takes people on river for an hour and it's very pretty, I always wanted to ride it.
"That's the cruise ship.It serves for an hour. Every hour." I told them.
"Is it coming back?" Samar asked examining it.
"I guess?" I answered unsurely. I don't know what happened, the next thing I knew was that they held my hand started running out of the park. I laughed at their childish behavior as I asked them to slow down.
We bought the passes and got on the Cruise. The sun was setting down. It was a perfect cruise timing. We all stood near the railing and looking at water. "Have you taken a ride of this earlier? " Venky asked and I shook my head "No. There are maximum times couples in here and it's little awkward to come with whole family." They looked around and laughed.
"Why with family only? No friends? " Sanam asked. "No. I mean yeah I do have friends but they...are not like me."
"Oh,that means they are normal." Sanam chuckled and Hi fived Keshav. I blinked at them, didn't know what to say.
What do they mean, am I abnormal or what?
"Let's go up?" Sanam suggested.
"Nah! I wanna be here." Samar said and Keshav decided to stay with him. Venky was on the other side, so, Sanam and I climbed up the stairs.
"Oh wow!" I gasped, mesmerized by what I was seeing. The whole of this part was dimly lighted. It was kind of romantic. Actually, it was romantic. I looked at the figure standing with me. And I am with him, here, in this romantically decorated cruise. He looked at me and smiled, giving me the feeling of butterflies in my tummy. Then looked away, watching the beauty of his surrounding but I was not able to take my eyes off his face. I mean who can?

His beautiful skin was glowing in that dim light. What a moment! Setting sun, dimly lighted cruise, and I am with him, with Sanam. The wind was making my hair dance with it as I tried to settle, still looking at him. Suddenly he turned and caught me staring at him.
I quickly turned away, red in embarrassment. "Let's go." He said and I looked at him confusedly.
"What? Waha chalte hai." He pointed at a spot where we can sit and enjoy the perfect evening. I nodded and we walked there.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" He asked and I replied "Yes." Just like you. I wanted to add but I didn't.
"Kya soch rahi ho?" I was taken aback by his sudden words "Huh?"
"I asked, what are you thinking. " he repeated his question.
"Oh" I smiled "This scene, light, and now the moon" I pointed up at the moon and he looked "reminded me of a song." I finished.
"Oh! Which song?" He asked, I opened my mouth to answer him but he interrupted me "Stop!" And I fell quiet. "Aise nahi. You have to sing it!"
I was shocked at his words Sing it?
"You are the singer not me." I reminded him.
"So what? We, sing for you guys. Now its your turn." He smirked.
"I can't. I won't sound good."
"Let me decide that." He rested his arm on his knee, looking directly in me.
I moved my hand through my hair. "Fine. But you have to start and sing too. " I requested him. He chuckled and nodded "Why not? Humm the start and I will join you."
"Can I say something? " I asked him shyly and he gestured me to go on. "I can't believe it this is happening. " and we both started laughing.Since we met, this must be the thousandth time that I am saying this to him.
"Well, you have to." He said in between his laugh "and now start. "
We stopped laughing and I took a deep breath. So, I am going to sing in front of my favorite singer. Who would have thought that?

"Come on!" He said, I nodded and began to humm the chorus of Yeh raatien yeh mausam.
He smiled and as promised he started to sing "Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa."
"Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa." He repeated looking at me and I continued with the female part "Kaha do dilon ne, ke milkar kabhi hum,na honge judaa." And then it was a dream came true moment. I sang the chorus with him, together." Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa."
We paused and looked at each other smiling, enjoying the moment. The wind was blowing pleasantly. Sky was dark by now with the full moon shining. It was just like as it was in the song. Then I continued and looked up at moon "Yeh kya baat hai aajki chandi mein." And then he supported the line as he did in the original "Yeh kya baat hai aajki chandi mein." He stopped there and I continued looking at my hands, smiling "Ke hum khogaye pyaar ki ragini mein" he suddenly put his arm on my shoulder and looked at me "Yeh baahon mein baahien, yeh behki nigahien, lo ane laga zindagi mazaa." And then he took his hand off me. Okay, it was only for the song, I reminded myself but still I was blushing and smiling. And then we sang the chorus together again " Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa."
I kept looking at him, the smile not leaving my lips. And he was happy too, looking at the sky he sung "Sitaaron ke mehfil ne karke ishara."
He gestured me to sing along with him and I did "Sitaaron ke mehfil ne karke ishara." I stopped there and he continued "Kaha ab to sara jahaan hai tumhara." And then I continued with my part looking directly at him "Mohabbat jawaan ho" I looked up "Khula aasman ho, karien ko dil arzoo aur kya?" We looked at each other and continued " Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa." We were lost in each other, smiling at each other, even if he wasn't but I was completely drown in his eyes.
"Kasam hai tumhe, tum agar mujhse ruthe."
I sang along with him as I did earlier
"Kasam hai tumhe, tum agar mujhse ruthe.Rahe saans jabtak yeh bandhan na toote." He stopped and I continued looking in his eyes, little did he know that I really mean it "Tumhe dil diya hai, yeh vaada kiya hai." I smiled "Sanam, main tumhari rahungi sadaa." He smiled as blushed just like in the song, which was really very cute and continued " Yeh raatien yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara yeh chanchal hawa."
We looked at each other "Kaha do dilon ne,ke milkar kabhi hum,na honge judaa." And hummed the chorus together. What I kept thinking while humming was that I sang the part Sanam main tumhari rahungi sada while looking in his eyes. Its really like a dream. We were still looking at each other. When we stopped there was a loud noise was clapping.
We broke our eye contact and saw that the people on the cruise was standing behind us clapping. Samar, Keshav and Venky were too in the corner, smiling mischievously. We looked at each other and back at the crowd.
Were we so lost in singing that we didn't notice that people were listening to us? I thought.
"Sanam Puri? Is that really Sanam Puri?" Oh no! People now knew that he was here. I saw Keshav,Venky and Samar moving quietly out of sight before the crowd notice them.
"Main to gaya." Sanam whispered to me. And I looked at the people who started to take pictures and coming forward to him.
I quickly moved away from him and he frowned at me for leaving him alone there.
