《Tum Mile - A Sanam Puri Fanfic》Ch - 30. His Love Story

"Why are you not telling me?" Arpita asked me for the tenth time after our journey to my secret spot began. I knew she was irritated because of my ignorant behavior but I decided to not reveal the surprise until we reach there, "I already told you, it's a surprise. One more thing I can add is that, it's my secret place and nobody knows about it except one.." I answered her calmly while focusing on the busy road.
"One who? Don't tell me it's Samar jiju." She chuckled in the end.
"Khushi," I answered normally but abruptly.
She fell silent for a moment. "Ohh" was all she spoke. I got her glimpse from the corner of my eyes. She was looking out from the window without questioning anything further.
While driving, my brain kept reminding me of what happened today morning. My heart raced faster than a formula one car by just recalling it. When my eyes met hers. It felt as if the whole world around us was frozen, everything felt silent and pleasant. I remember how surprised she looked when I pulled her to myself. Of course it wasn't intentional at all but also I cannot deny the fact that she looked cute with her innocent eyes getting wider as a saucer and when she clutched my tee closing them slowly while I tucked her hair.
I remember how flushed she looked when Amaya called her. She even pushed me out of reflex. I pretended to be mad at her for it even though I wasn't. She was just too innocent to believe it. I wondered if my annoyance worried her. Even though we are friends now yet her eyes held so much respect for me. If I gaze at them just for a second they made me feel as if I was the worthiest man on the planet.
It is really strange that how quickly I bonded so well with this girl. She became the one with whom I become a bird who was being caged for several years and now finally set free to embrace the vast firmament in its wings. I knew she was just following her duty but I didn't know why my heart was not trusting on this thought.
The more I tried to burry all these bizarre feelings my heart started developing for her, the more I walked closer to her. I think, I think a lot or may be I have started to think a lot about her!
After almost three hours of constant driving we finally reached there. We chatted a bit through out the drive but most of the time we both were silent, admiring the sceneries passing by yet the silence was comforting. I learnt that she too enjoys being in nature's amity. The way she gazed at trees, sky and every passing view through car's window helped me to figure it out.

"We are here." I said, finally applying the breaks. I quickly stepped out of the car and rushed to open door for her but she was quick enough to do it herself. She smiled at me as she stepped out and I returned the gesture. We where near Lonavala. We had to climb up a hill, off course through stairs. There were many hills around but this one stood a little taller than most of them. Atmosphere here was pleasing and calm just like the day when I first came here. It wasn't too sunny today, the sun was hidden behind clouds making the ambience even more beguiling.
"This place is beautiful," she said admiring our surrounding. "I know that's why it is one my favorite places," smiling at her, I replied happily. "You love nature, don't you?" She said. "Yes and you have done PhD on me, haven't you?" I chuckled. "On SANAMology you mean?" She asked as we both laughed together.
After sometime we both reached at the top of the hill. She was panting slowly where as I was pretty normal. "Are all vegans pro at climbing up the hills?" She asked filling up her lungs with air through both nose and mouth. I chuckled, "Thanks for the compliment. So now you know why I love nature."
"Pff.. Then you should probably start feeding on air, stop eating leaves and veggies too. You know even plants are living things and vegans don't harm any living organism na," she told me as if she was telling it to a kid. I laughed, "But there are no flavours and varieties in it. I will be bored," I made an innocent pouty face. She slapped her forehead and then winced rubbing it, making me laugh more.
"Hehehe," She mimcked making a funny irritated face and walked to sit on bench under the only large tree which happened to be there. Gripping on my laughter I walked after her as we both settled on that bench where only two can fit. She took a deep breath relaxing herself, "You should focus on this breathtaking view instead of me, Mr. Puri," she chuckled, now looking at me with a soft smile. I felt dumb and embarrassed, I quickly shifted my gaze from her to the view in front. Soon my eyes gleamed as they absorbed that heavenly view.
"So, how do you know about this place? Looking at our surroundings, it seems least known. How did you discover it?" She asked curiously. I smiled at the ground and then looked at her, "Khushi. She brought me here. It is the place where she proposed me." She looked astonished, "Khushi proposed you?" I nodded affirmatively. "She was the first one to initiate!" I nodded again saying 'yes'. "Oh my god!" She squealed, "That's so adorable," she remarked clasping her palms.

"She was very romantic," I chuckled, "For me Khushi was the second name for romance." I couldn't resist the smile (blush) that appeared on my face while reminiscing those golden times. "Someone is blushing ha," she nudged me teasingly. I shook my head chuckling on her comment.
"Tell me about it. Your love story!" Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. I smiled at her as my brain took a long jump to my past. To the time when I met my love.. "It all started four years back..
Flashback,
We were in search of a girl for one of our big projects, actually for a SANAMoriginal. We did many auditions but couldn't find a perfect face. One day, one of our team member showed us a picture of Mehek Taneja from her instagram handle. Everyone agreed on the thought of including her into this project except me. I wasn't sure about this decision. Somewhere I was having a feeling that may be she wasn't the girl our song needed. I talked about it to Samar but he said I was over thinking and so I gave up on arguing more about it. Ben contacted her manager and fixed an appointment with her. Next day we went to meet her at her place. What I didn't understand was, when we could meet her at her office for this professional talk then why she invited us to her house?
Well, my doubts cleared as we reached there. The house was not really a house, it was a huge modern mansion you usually see in movies or in daily soaps. Typically the one which screams money and power when you look at it. 'Taneja Mansion' scripted on the name plate outside the gate answered many erupting questions.
All four, (Samar, Keshu, Venky & Ben) were walking ahead of me where as I was busy with my phone, so I was walking with the speed of a snail. Moreover I was the least interested person in the entire group. After the trio followed Ben inside the mansion I stopped at the entrance looking up at the huge mansion with a frown, 'I hope she rejects this offer.'
Who knew that a beautiful plan by God was waiting for me?
Shoving my cell back into my jeans pocket I sighed finally stepping into that massive mansion. When I entered the lobby I saw two girls at reception, my lads were waiting near the reception for me. "Where were you bro?" Keshu asked as I made my way in their direction,"Was attending an urgent call dude, sorry." I replied. Ben asked one of the receptionist about Mehek and that we have an appointment with her. She made a call and then told us that we would find her at 7th floor. After we five got inside the lift, I noticed there were total 7 floors in the entire building.
Once we reached the right floor we all walked out of lift and made our way towards her cabin, I was walking at the tail following others. My head was fixed down and eyes glued at my mobile's screen. I was searching for an option to pass my time there. My cell phone became my saviour. When I lifted my eyes from mobile I realized I was alone in a long black and white marble hallway.
Towards the end of the hallway I bumped into someone accidentally.
Actually, that person barged into me!
Do all people in hurry become blind?
Because of sudden collision we both lost our balance and fell off on our backs hurting ourselves. "Owww!" We both winced in unison. I already had a sour mood since morning and now this happened to irritate me even more. With a frown pasted on face I looked at that person who crashed into me but expressions of my face soon faded away as my gaze fell on her.
It was a girl. She started collecting some files and papers that scattered on floor because of our collision. She didn't look at me but her face depicted the exact expressions I had few seconds ago. She was also murmuring something under her breath. Sitting on knees I too assembled some of the files in order to help her. She looked at me instantly where as I my gaze was already fixed at her.
