《Dangerously ~Chris Evans~✅》EIGHT

Early Sunday afternoon Livie headed over towards the dock. She had stayed at Chris's hotel till almost 3 am. He had tried to convince her to stay the night, so she wouldn't have to travel to the upper east side at 3 am but she told him if she stayed neither of them would get any sleep and he had an early flight to catch.

Once home she instantly fell asleep. She slept right through her phone ringing off the hook (courtesy of Jade) and Chris's text that he had thankfully made his flight. When she finally rolled out of bed at 11:30 Dex had texted her saying they were going out on the boat and to be at the docks by 1. That didn't give her much time, so she threw on her bathing suit, a pair of cut off jean shorts and a white t-shirt that loosely hung from one shoulder. She had bags under her eyes from her late night so she grabbed her favorite sunglasses and a floppy straw brimmed hat before rushing out the door.

She walked up the dock towards her brothers' boat and could see Chace and Dex working on the boat getting it ready to go back out into the water. Her eyes settled on Chace who was sans shirt showing off his deep golden tan. His swim trucks hung low on his hips and when he turned and saw her his blue eyes lit up. Her heart sunk because she knew what he wanted. And looking at him right now it was hard to not lust after him. She knew not only was he perfect to look at, amazing in bed, but that he also had a good heart.

"Hey." He grinned. "What happened to you last night?" He asked as she stepped carefully onto the boat.

"Oh I uh...." Livie wasn't sure what to say.

"JJ said you were in Brooklyn or something."

"I was. I was-" She was cut off by Dex's loud mouth and she couldn't praise his timing enough.

"BROOKLYN!" Dex laughed as he playfully shoved Livie. "What made you go over the bridge?"

"I told you I was with some friends." Livie adjusted her sunglasses trying to sound casual.

"What friends?" Dex wanted to know.

"Work friends. I do have other friends." She insisted.

"Well I missed you last night." Chace smiled.

"Thanks." Livie replied softly.

"Hey!!" Jade's voice carried down the dock.

Livie spun around. "JJ!" She squealed.

"Brooklyn!" Jade cracked up laughing.

"OK, you guys do not have to call me Brooklyn. Seriously it was one time." Livie grumbled.

"Where's Seb?" Dex asked Jade.

"Should I know?" Jade raised an eyebrow, "It wasn't my turn to watch him."

"You mean to tell me you went out last night on this boat with just the guys?" Livie questioned her best friend.

"I did. I was brave." She shrugged.

"Did I hear someone say they were looking for me?" Sebastian called as he made his way down the dock towards the boat.

"Just Livie." Jade smiled sarcastically.

"Is that so?" Seb climbed on the boat and threw his arm around Livie.

"Just waiting on the final member of your little boy band here so we can get moving." She teased.

"Boy band huh? That's cute."

"I thought so." Livie wrinkled her nose.

"So I heard that you had a late night." Seb lowered his voice so only Livie could hear.

"I did. But I haven't really talked to Chace about it yet so please shh." Livie begged.

"Ok. But promise me you will talk to him today."

"Today." She swore.

Spending a hot summer afternoon on the boat was Livie's favorite thing to do. Her favorite spot was the sun deck where she could lay out.

"Want a beer?" Chace asked as he climbed up next to Livie on the deck.

"Nah." She shook her head. "But thank you."

"You want to grab some dinner tonight?" He asked.

"Uhhhh. Sure." Dinner tonight would be the best place to talk to him one on one about her and Chris.

After spending all afternoon on the boat they finally headed back to land.

"Do you want to run home and change?" Chace asked as they climbed off the boat.

"No, I'm good like this I think. We can go somewhere casual."

Chace nodded, "We'll catch up with you guys later." He called as he grabbed Livie's hand.

They decided on an outdoor café by the pier. It was casual, laid back and they had a good live band playing. Livie thought it was a good place to tell Chace she had met Chris.

"I'm starving." Chace looked at the menu.

"Me too." Livie realized.

"Thanks for coming out with me." Chace didn't look up from the menu.

"Thanks for inviting me. There's actually something I wanted to talk to you about."

"Yeah, what's that?"

"Hi I'm Kimberly I'm going to be your waitress this evening." A young blonde woman grinned at them. "Can I start you with a drink and some appetizers?"

"Livie?" Chace asked.

"Can I have a blue moon?"

Kimberly nodded and turned smiling wide at Chace, "And for you?"

"Same."

Kimberly nodded, "I'll be right back with your drinks and to take your order."

"So what's on your mind?" Chace asked once the waitress was gone.

"You are one of my best friends." Livie started.

"This doesn't sound good." He arched an eyebrow.

"I know that you want to date. And I really like you."

"But you don't date. I know. I know."

Livie cringed a little. "I met someone at Seb's party."

"What?" Chace frowned.

"That's who I was with yesterday." She said softly.

"Oh, so you do date, you just don't date me?" He starred into her eyes.

"I didn't mean for that to happen. It wasn't you. I still don't even know if I date. I don't know what Chris and I are or will be."

"Chris?"

Livie nodded, "Evans."

"Wow. OK. Well thanks for telling me." He picked his menu back up.

"Chace." Livie pleaded softly.

"It's fine Liv."

The rest of dinner didn't go much better. Livie was relieved when she finally walked into her apartment.

She dropped her keys on the kitchen table trying to think of anything other than how hurt Chace had been. Her phone buzzing across the kitchen table made her pause and she smiled when she saw it was Chris calling.

"Hi." She answered.

"Hey. Is this a bad time?"

"Never a bad time for you."

"Ok, I like the sound of that."

"How was your flight?"

"Long. How was your day? You sound tired."

"I am. We went out on my brothers' boat and then I had dinner with a friend."

"That sounds fun. Seb did mention he was going out on the boat today."

"Yeah, it was fun." Livie replied without much enthusiasm

Chris could tell she was feeling off but didn't want to push it, so they just chatted casually until Livie practically fell asleep on the phone.
