James POV
"It's like she didn't understand or something!"
Julieta finished her story while we walk down the hallway. It was the next week and the past week had been amazing. I had been on more dates with Thomas, Peggy has been hanging with Maria for awhile, Reynolds hasn't bothered me at all, and I've made a new friend.
"Well, Julie, you write and speak in every single language including ones that are barely discovered. And I've known you long enough to know you do it when you get nervous." I point out. She blushes and rolls her eyes, moving a stray strand of hair from her face.
"Whatever..." she mumbles.
"Anyway, I was just going to-.." I get cut off by someone running up to Julie. A very tall girl with dark bags under her eyes. She had tan skin and brown hair and eyes.
"Jules! You will never believe what happened!" She exclaims, jumping up and down. She had a red flannel with the sleeves ripped off on with jeans. A red jacket tied around her waist. She had an earpiece in each ear.
"So that girl! She... Who's this?" She stares at me with confusion on her face. Jules facepalmed herself and sighed, mumbling gibberish under her breath.
"Mae, I don't know what I'm going to do with you.." she mumbles. I snicker and the girl pretended to look offended.
"Wow.. and I thought we were friends..." she says with a fake pout.
"I'm James" I tell her smiling.
"Mae Jayne." She states, moving a piece of hair away from her face sassily. Mae turned back to Julie.
"Anyway! That girl with the long black hair! She was wearing this really cute blue flower crown and she looked at me and- oh my gosh she's so dreamy..." Mae gushes. I could basically see hearts in her eyes. That description sounded familiar to me though...
"You wouldn't happen to know if that girl has two sisters and a brother, is the middle child, wears sunglasses all the time and complains about how everything tastes weird would you?" I asked with a smirk, knowing my sisters like I know my own mind.
Mae and Julie look at me wide eyed.

"You know E-Elizabeth S-Schuyler..?" Mae stutters out, a small smile creeping upon her face.
"I'm that one brother." I tell her giggling. She squeal excitedly. Julie giggled.
"Looks like you've got a wing man." Julie says, nudging me. I smile and giggle. We all talk for awhile while walking to the dorms.
"Jemmy!" I hear someone call from behind me. I turn and see Thomas running for me. I smile and turn around completely. He runs up to me and picks me up and spins me. I squeal and giggle in surprise. I feel heat creep onto my cheeks. He laughs and sets me down.
"Awwwwe!" Mae and Julie say from behind me. I glare at them softly.
"Who are you guys?" Thomas asked, draping an arm around me.
"Julieta! Call me Julie though." Julie introduces.
"Mae" Mae says, popping her hip out. Thomas nods.
"Jemmy can I talk to you?" Thomas asked, suddenly getting nervous. I tilt my head but nod. I say my goodbyes and walk across the street with Thomas. We walk to our usual spot we go to after school, the garden. I smile and run ahead, giggling. Thomas laughs from behind me and I hear him run after me. I quickly jump up onto a low tree branch and start climbing.
"Unfair! I'm too tall!" Thomas whines. I laugh and keep climbing. I climb to a large branch over and hang upside down. I'm now level, face to face with Thomas. He smiles and kisses my head. I blush and hold my shirt down so it wouldn't come up.
"You're cute." Thomas says abruptly. I blush more and cover my face with my hands while hanging upside down. He chuckles and he takes my hands and moves them from my face. I smile at him and sit back up. I jump from the tree branch.
"Well now I'm short again.." I mumble under my breath, facing Thomas. Thomas chuckles and takes my hand in his. We walk to our usual spot to watch the sun set. It's actually a little early to be walking down here already.. hm. We get to our spot in the tall grass around the forest of flowers. I walk ahead, letting go of Thomas' hand, to go look at the roses. This is a weekly/ daily thing. I would always walk ahead and go see the roses. I touch the delicate petals of one of the roses. I feel something placed behind me ear. I turn and Thomas takes a picture of me. I roll my eyes.

"You need to stop doing that." I tell him, playfully punching his arm. He shrugs and wraps his arms around me. I feel him kiss the top of my head lightly. I giggle and my face heats up. Dusting my cheeks in a pink. A comfortable silence stays in the air, with him just holding me. I sigh contently.
"Jemmy?" Thomas asks suddenly. I hum in response.
"I... um.." he sounds nervous for some reason. I turn to face him, tilting my head in concern. He stays silent, biting his lip, and looking away from me. I grab his hand and press my hand to his. A black shadow appears from Thomas' hand. I giggle and face my palm towards the sky. White spark comes from my hand. Like a electrical socket that doesn't work anymore. It just sparks like mini Lightning bolts. My tattoo flickers like a broken light bulb. Thomas frowns and looks concerned. My tattoo flickers brightly and then goes out. Like a flame that flickers out too soon. The flicker sent a burning sensation down my arm. I hiss in pain and grab my arm with my hand that was once facing up. I hold my arm as if it will stop the pain, even though the pain is internal. Thomas reached forward to help me.
"I'm fine.." I say, waving my hand motioning him to leave me alone. He backs up hesitantly. I rub my burning arm with my hand.
I sigh, "Back to square one..." I whisper to myself. I roll my sleeve up and my tattoo looked faded... not with the light.. like my tattoo was disappearing. The cut Reynolds left there weeks ago had left a scar across my fading tattoo. What happens when a tattoo fades I wonder... I roll my sleeve back down and sigh. I lean my head on Thomas arm.
"J-James..." Thomas stutters. I look up at him, he never stutters... unless he's nervous. I look at him, waiting for him to continue. He takes a deep breath and looks into my eyes.
"I... I really like you... a lot... I know I was terrible to you before. With James Reynolds and I want to help you through thick and thin now. I will protect you.. I want to protect you. I want to be able to kiss you and hug you. And cuddle with you.. I like you a lot James.." he says to me. I froze.. did he just.. to me.. and he..
He likes me???
"Th-this was stupid I'm s-sorry.." he apologized. I pull him down by the collar of his shirt, and kiss his lips. It felt like fireworks going off in my stomach. There was so much spark... I feel him slowly kiss me back, making me smile. We kiss for what seemed like hours and we slowly pull away. He looks me in the eyes and I smile. I look away, my neck and cheeks burning.
"I like you too Thomas Jefferson.." I tell him with a smile on my lips. He smiles and hugs me tight. I hug back just as tight. He suddenly picks me up, and I wrap my legs around him. I press my forehead to his.
"James Madison, will you go out with me?"
"Hmm.. I don't know, I'll have to think about it." I joke, rolling my eyes.
"Yes you dork.." I whisper. He pecks my lips again softly.
"Oh shoot... Peggy is going to make me go deaf when she finds out.." I say, realization hitting me.
"You and me both. Laf is going to freak.." Thomas says, rolling his eyes.
"Siblings, right?" I joke, wrapping my arms around his neck. He chuckles and nods. I place my head on his chest, listening to his deep heart beat.
"You're not planning on letting me go, are you?" Thomas asks, adjusting his grip on my legs. I shake me head and cuddle more into his chest. He chuckles and starts to carry me to the dorms.
But not everything can stay perfect forever...
