3 weeks later.
Milo had a therapy session while Anya and M'lani were at home, it was mid morning and they were asleep when he left. Rubbing hands together he waited for his name to be called. He was nervous because it had been a while since he had a session, also Brianna had been on vacation with family so she wanted all the details on things she'd missed while being away.
Relax man. Everything's fine.
Yeah chill out Lo.
Can we go get a smoothie?
"Oh my God." He mumbled before letting out a breath, he saw Brianna open the door and smile before calling him to her office.
"It's good to see you Milo." Brianna smiled fixing her glasses before grabbing her notepad as he sat on the couch.
"Good to see you too Bri. How was your vacation?" He asked sitting on the small couch across from her.
"It's was pretty good, I got sunburnt on the last day though." She chuckled a little. "How's everything been?"
"Well.. Little beans birthday party was pretty successful." He smiled thinking about his little girl.
"That's great! Anything else? How are Anya and M'lani?"
"They're good, Anya is getting back to her normal self after we lost the baby." He mumbled looking up at her.
"Wow. I'm sorry to hear that, you've gotta let yourself greave If you don't you'll bottle up your pain and it'll come out in anger, that could also cause you to lash out. Have you had a chance to tell her how it effected you?" Brianna asked as he shook his head and let her words sink in.
"I just...I don't know what happened... She-she was fine one minute and the next she was bleeding."
"We're you the one who was around at the time?" Brianna asked.
"No. Jaxon was, they were dancing around just having fun but then her stomach started hurting and-" He paused getting choked up.
"It's alright, take your time.." She said handing him a tissue box.
"And that's when she started bleeding... I.. I don't wanna talk about this."
"We don't have to discuss it now, I just don't want you to hold that in. Is Anya ok now?"
"Yeah, she's fine.. I mean she did cry for a few days and sleep a lot but now that I know she's alright it makes me feel better. I just don't like talking about it." He said clearing his throat.
"I understand. Let's talk about the alters now. Are there any new ones?"
Milo shook his head. "No the only new one is River but he doesn't come out often, Altas and Seven are pretty much dormant. Jax, Sai, and Zane are always around. I'm alright though."
"Oh okay, is Jaxon still the protector of the system?"
Well duh Doc. Of course I am.
He chuckled a little. "Yeah he is."
"Well it's good to see everything's going well. I know you've missed a few days before I went on vacation. Any particular reason why?"
Milo didn't really have an excuse, after losing their baby he pretty much went into a shell and didn't want to be bothered with anything, he also blamed himself and still does.

"No, just didn't feel like coming.. I'm sorry." He muttered as Brianna shook her head.
"Oh no don't beat yourself up over it, I was just wondering.. If you guys need anything at all just let me know, yes I am your therapist but I am also a human with a caring heart. "
He smiled a little before running a hand down his face. "I appreciate that."
Can we go now? I wanna go play 2K.
"You can play later." He mumbled answering River who's favorite thing to do when he fronted was playing video games and eat pizza.
'Who's that?" She chuckled a little because she hadn't seen Milo switching in front of her, it had happen so fast at time that she wouldn't really notice until he spoke.
"River.."
"Oh wow, it's been a while since he's fronted. Does he want to come out for a minute?" Brianna asked as Milo nodded and switched his position in the chair, he leaned his back against the armrest and lifted his leg over the other side before pulling his hood over his head before glancing at her.
"Yeah, he wants to front, he's more comfortable in this position or laying down." He chuckled a little before letting out a breathe and staring at the bookshelf, giving himself time to ground himself River looked over at Brianna and waved.
"Hey River.. I'm Bri and it's good to see you fronting.. You don't normally stick around long."
"No, I don't.. but it's nice to see you too, I wanted to go play some video games."
"Oh ok, well I can let you play on the switch while we talk, I normally use it for my younger patients but if you agree to talk to me, I'll let you play. Deal?"
"Deal." He smiled and watched as she walked over to the closet, opening the box she took out the switch and turned in on before passing it to him.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. So tell me what else you like, I want to learn about you since I know about the other alters. Do you have an age?"
"Mhmm, I'm not Milo's physical age.. I'm 17."
"Oh ok, I haven't met an alter of his that was young aside form Atlas." She said as he quickly glanced up at her before furrowing his eyebrows. "Damn wasted." He mumbled as she chuckled.
"Yeah, he's cool I guess. " He shrugged. "He's asleep right now but I like driving sometimes even though I don't get to all the time because once I hit a mailbox so Milo said I can't always drive." He chuckled keeping his eyes on whatever game he was playing.
"That must've been scary huh?"
"Not really, I thought it was funny but Milo and Jax weren't too happy, Can we talk about Zane for a second?"
"Sure, what about him?"
He paused the game and looked up. "He's like a little baby.. I gave him an age since he didn't have one.. he's kinda like a 5 year old.. You gotta watch what you say around him, what you do around him, he's get upset when he can't get his way.."
"You don't like that?"
"No, no, I protect him when bad things happen so he won't be too effected.. When Anya lost Munchkin he was really upset so I protected him and didn't let him front that much.. I mean I did but he really just front more around the time of little beans birthday party.. I don't know...he's the youngest one in the system so I can't help but to protect him, when Milo and Anya used to go out a lot with Dre and his girl I didn't let Zane come out because that wasn't a time for a child to be out, you know?"

"I understand."
He cleared his throat. "So now when we're at home he fronts because he's in a safe environment but even then I make sure to stay close because again he's a child."
"To me it seems like you are more of like the big brother alter, always wanting to protect the youngest."
"Yeah, I mean Milo doesn't have any sibling so I guess he created me and Jax to protect the system which I have no problem doing of course and neither does Jaxon.." He said grabbing the switch again to finish his game. Brianna took down some notes and fixed her glasses.
"Well you're doing a good job at protecting him." She said as he nodded.
"Thanks.. you can have this back now." He chuckled passing the switch back to her before sitting up straight in the chair.
"You're welcome. Is there anything else you'd like to talk about before our session ends?" She asked looked at the small timer on her desk which had about 13 more minutes left on it.
"Nah I'm cool.."
"Ok, well I appreciate you for talking to me today." She smiled taking a sip of her water.
"No problem." He said before hearing the timer go off, standing up he made his way out of the office and to the car.
Please don't hit anyone's mailbox River.
"Milo I'm not gonna crash into any mailboxes." He laughed before pulling out of the parking lot and made his way home.
Once inside the house he headed to the bedroom, Anya and little bean were awake watching tv.
"What's up Anya?"
"Hey River!"
"Damn, you know me and I don't even front all the time." He said making her laugh.
"I know all you guys, trust me I know everyone's mannerisms."
River kicked off his shoes and took off his hoodie.
"Dada!"
"I'm not Dada little bean, but hey princess." He said taking little bean from Anya before sitting at the edge of the bed, she was touching his face and getting slobber on his t- shirt causing him to chuckle and sit up.
"Ya'll just woke up?"
"No. I got up a little after you guys left, how was therapy?"
"It was cool, Bri let me play the switch so I thought that was pretty cool, we talked about a lot of stuff too." He said passing little bean back to Anya was was yawning.
"That's good River, you hungry?"
"Honestly I'm more tired than anything, I'm probably gonna take a nap."
"Ok, go ahead. I'll make sure to cook some extra spaghetti for you."
"Aight cool. I'm not sure if I'll still be around but spaghetti sounds cool."
She smiled and closed the door behind her taking M'lani with to the kitchen, laying on his back River sighed and ran his hand down his bare chest. Feeling his eyes get heavy he fell asleep.
___
After feeding little bean I sat on the couch with her as we watched a random cartoon, hearing the door open I saw Jax coming out of the room, it was crazy because he even walked differently than the rest of the alters, it's hard to explain. Jaxon walked like his pants were sagging a bit it was funny to me.
"What's up bae? You missed a nigga?"
I smiled a little because it had been a few days since he fronted. I did miss his crazy ass.
"I did honestly."
"Oh for real?" He chuckled sitting beside me, he licked his lips before looking down at little bean who was asleep in my lap.
"I missed ya'll too, it's been a while but a real nigga is back." He chuckled. "You made spaghetti?! Oh bet, you know that's my favorite."
I nodded and stood up before seeing him head to the kitchen to make himself a plate, I laid little bean in her crib and gave her a kiss before going back into the kitchen, sitting at the island Jax looked up at me with a mouth full of spaghetti noodle hanging from his mouth, I could help but laugh because he looked like a big ass kid.
"Just greedy." I said causing him to suck his teeth.
'Oh shut up Anya, I'm hungry as hell." He said wiping his mouth with a napkin before looking up at me, he gave me a once over.
"What?"
"You ready to get married to me mama?"
"Bye." I laughed as I threw a napkin at him.
"You playin', I'm serious though.. All jokes aside, the wedding is coming, you nervous?"
"Oh no, I'm not nervous at all. I'm ready." I said looking down at my engagement ring, I honestly couldn't believe I was a mom let alone about to be someone's wife.
"Crazy how life works... When we first met you, we didn't expect for this to go as far as it did." He said looking at me.
"Yeah, it is crazy but I guess God wanted us all to be together for a reason." I said as he smirked before finishing off his spaghetti before making himself another plate.
"Hey, you think thing will still be the same after the wedding?" I asked as he nodded.
"I don't see why not bae. Milo will still be a stick in the mud, Zane will still be a big baby, I'll still be the realest nigga in the system, Seven will still be nonexistent, River will still be himself...and Sai will still be a nerd."
"I hate you." I laughed .
"No you don't, you love me. If I wasn't around you'd be bored and lack realness."
I shook my head and stood up. "I guess you're right."
"You know I'm right bae, but I love you."
"I love you guys too-"
"Stop saying that.. It's not about the rest of the system.." He said standing up, he walked over to me and cupped my face with his hands.
"I'm still protective over you and my love for you will never change.." He kissed my forehead and then my cheek before leaving me in the kitchen. I stood there for and tried to process what he meant then it hit me.
I loved him too but he loved me way more.
