Bridget's POV
I smirked at Jerome as I snuggled back into his chest. I could feel hear how his heart was racing, and it made my wolf purr in delight. I bit my lip as I thought about the look on his face as I did what I did. I can still taste his excitement. I turned to face him placing my hand on his cheek.
I stared at him a soft smile on his face.
I'm falling fast for this man. But I don't think he feels the same as I and I'm too scared to admit it to him because his rejection would break my heart.
He leant forward and kissed my forehead. I smiled at him before turning away and actually watched the movie.

The movie ended and Seth was about to put in another when Jeremiah stood with Autumn in his arms sleeping. He turned to us.
"I'm going to bed. Goodnight guys."
I smiled "Night." I called back as did Jerome. I yawned.
"Should we call it a night? It's like 2 am." Mumbled Eva. I sat up and nodded I grabbed Jerome's hand and he pulled me up. We walked out of the room hand in hand. I hugged Eva and Seth goodbye before we took the elevator to our floor.
We got out, and we walked to our rooms. He stood outside of his door and went to go inside. "Where are you going? My rooms this way." I smirked opening my door. He grinned at me before he crossed the hallway he grabbed my waist and pulled me into the room closing he door behind us.
He lead me over to the bed where he pulled me into him. He kissed me heatedly. We fell onto the bed causing me to laugh as he scrambled to get off me. He pulled me back into him holding my waist tightly. I tried to sit up but he wouldn't let me.
"Hey let me up. I need to get changed." I laughed.
"Let me help you with that." He growled. As he lifted my shirt. I lay back on the bed. He unbuttoned my jeans and slowly pulled down the zipper. He hooked his fingers around the waistband of my jeans and pulled them off me. His hands ran up my bare legs as he gripped the bottom of my shirt between his fingers. I gasped as he ripped open the soft fabric. I pouted.
"I liked that shirt." I whined. He grinned as he kissed up my torso to my neck.
"I'll buy you a new one," He whispered as his hands trailed my body, his touch burned in the best way possible and he began to kiss up my stomach all the way to my neck. I bit my lip to hold back a moan as he nipped at my mark. "Don't to that!" He growled "I want to hear you."

I nodded. "Okay," I breathed as I wrapped my legs around his waist pulling him into me. "Is this going to happen?" I said breathlessly as I removed his shirt. He kissed me before he pulled back.
"Not tonight." He said softy. Before he got off me. I stared at the ceiling breathing heavily.
"Why not?" I groaned running my hand through my hair. I turned to him running my hands down his chest he began kicking off his pants. I turned over throwing my legs over his waist straddling him. I placed my hands on his chest. "Don't you want to?" I asked slightly dejected. He growled flipping us over.
"Of course I do, it's just not the right time," He mumbled softly. He pulled the duvet over us before pulling me into him. "I want it to be right." He whispered.
"Okay." I mumbled only slightly annoyed. I turned around and punched him lightly in the chest. He let out an oomph before he laughed.
"What was that for?" He grumbled.
"For getting me worked up." I stared before kissing him. I felt him smile into the kiss. I lay my head on his chest before I closed my eyes waiting for sleep to come and sure enough it did.
—— Morning
I awoke to a soft knock on my door. Groggily I pulled myself out of Jerome's embrace and the comfort of my bed. I slipped into my gown and walked to the door. I opened it and frowned when I saw Theo's sad face.
"What's up, sweetheart?" I asked kneeling to his level.
"I had a bad dream. Can I cuddle with you? Please, mommy?" He cried I picked him up and carried him to my bed. I lay next to him and held him close.
"What happened, sweetie?" I asked softly running my hand through his hair.
"They were yelling at me because I couldn't shift. And then they... were yelling about how Jared wouldn't survive the experiment." He sobbed. My brain focused, and I sat up quickly.
"What experiment?" I asked. Theo looked at the floor.
"To take away the wolf." He mumbled.
"What do you mean?"
Theo shrugged a sad look on his face. "Okay then how were they going to do that?" I asked holding his face Theo thought for a while.
"With the funny-looking gas." He mumbled. I focused on the possibility of this sort of gas.
"Can you tell me anything else? Its important sweetie." I pressed hoping to get more information. It's vital to our whole species to understand this new threat.
"The bad man made my mommy get into a tube thingy and then they put the green gas inside and then she felt funny and then she started crying and I ran away." He said lowly.

"Is that when I found you?" I questioned he nodded his green eyes watering. I pulled him into my chest. "Oh, baby don't cry. Come on, lay with me." I mumbled patting the pillow where he lay his head.
I held onto him tightly and closed my eyes slowly falling to sleep.
------
I was working in my office on some alliance papers between my pack and the Black Mountain pack, their Alpha, Dominic, is friends with my father, and we're going to need all the help we can get in this war. It is a pressing issue to say the least. I had just signed the last piece of paper when Seth burst into my office. I looked him over and he looked terrible.
His face was red and tear stained, his eyes were puffy and still leaking tears, his breaths were ragged and uneven, he was practically hyperventilating. "Seth? What is it?" I asked attentively. His eyes snapped to mine a crazed look in her eyes.
"They took her! She is gone!" He cried, I stood up and walked over to him placing my hands on his shoulders. He looked at me brokenly. The look on his face made my heart stutter. He looked so broken.
"Who, what are you talking about?" I asked sightly worried.
"Eva, she's gone. The hunters took her, I can't feel her. I-I-I think she's dead." He sobbed causing me to gasp, all rational thinking has subsided him and he is in straight panic mode.
"Seth you need to calm down and listen to me she is not dead, you'd have felt that okay she's not dead. Now I need you to calm down and tell me exactly what happened," I ordered letting some of my wolf's influence into it, to calm him down. He nodded wiping his tears. I nodded to Jerome. "Get him a drink. A strong one." I mumbled, he nodded and went straight to the whiskey. He handed Seth a glass before filling one for the both of us.
"Eva said she was just going for a walk to clear her head so I told her to be safe. And that was the last I saw of her, after an hour I went looking for her. And I found this," he mumbled holding up her jacket that was covered in her blood. "I-I-It's her's." He murmured his voice breaking.
"Give it to me." I ordered, he did so. I checked it my finger brushed against something causing it to rustle. I shoved my hand into the pocket, pulling out a piece of paper. It had been bloodied but I could make out what it said clear as day.
Bridget, hand yourself over and we will return the girl to you and never bother your pack again. Until the time is right of course.
There was a number included at the bottom of the paper. I took a deep breath before I crumpled up the piece of paper in my hand and growled. "They want me to trade my life for Eva's." I breathed causing Jerome to growl.
"I'm not losing you! Not again!" He spat his wolf surging through. I sighed.
"This isn't about you. Eva is my friend, a member of my pack. I need to help her!" I snapped causing Seth to look at me. He shook his head.
"I would never ask you to do that Bridget." He whispered. I smiled at him.
"I know which is why I'm going to-"
"Like hell you are!" Jerome snapped cutting in. I gave him a sharp look.
"Which is why I'm going to make them think that I will be making the trade, they bring Eva. You guys bring me and just as we're about to make the switch we attack." I grumbled shooting a distasteful look. He had a sheepish smile on his face. Seth stood and pulled me into his embrace.
"Thank you so much Bridget," He cried. He pulled back a serious look on his face. "There's something you should know. Eva she's pregnant." He mumbled his eyes were sad, scared even.
"We're going to get them back Seth I promise." I mumbled hugging him. We pulled back, and I walked over to the phone.
Dialling the number I put the phone on speaker and listened to it ring.
"Bridget Sage. How lovely to hear from you. Now I assume you got my note, here's how this is going to go. We meet and then we hand her over." He said and I could tell by the tone of his voice he was smiling. I growled.
"How do we know you will bring her?" I questioned.
"Because we have no use for her. You on the other hand we have plenty of use for." He mused causing me to grit my teeth.
"East border six o'clock. And you better have her or I will rip out your heart and shove it up you ass." I snarled causing him to laugh.
"See you then, sweetheart."
I cut the call and looked at Jerome. "You need to call your mother, get her here we need to know what he meant last time when he mentioned her." I ordered not realising my wolf was showing. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I opened them again. I glanced at Seth. "We're getting her back." I stared before I walked past him and out my office. I wanted to see my baby.
