《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 19

A few weeks had gone by since the dinner with my parents and a lot had happened starting with Seth passing his beta initiation and he was doing the role very well. He fit in brilliantly.
Today though is the transfer initiation day and although Jerome has nothing to worry about because he'd still accepted into the pack since he's my mate but I know how much he wants to earn his place. We- I still haven't told the pack yet we decided to wait until he was officially in the pack to announce it. So nobody can day he got special treatment. Only my inner circle knows and it's nice to not have my business all around the pack, but I know that will change once it's announced. But then that means all the desperate, unmated females will know to stay away from Jerome. We haven't marked each other nor have we mated which has been incredibly difficult especially with my heat coming usually Brent would help but obviously that's not happening ever again.
I walked into the kitchen to find dinner in full swing, the kitchen staff were cooking dinner as well as serving it too. I walked over to Gloria and smiled. She worked too much, and I was about to tell her to take a break.
I stood with a serious look on my face when she noticed me; she paled. Did she think she was in trouble? I tried not to laugh at her worried expression.
"You need a holiday. Effective immediately." I ordered. She stared at me, dumbfounded.
"I... Erm. Okay?" She questioned I nodded and turned on my heel and left. I fixed myself a plate of awesomeness. I had steak, chicken, and fries because why not? A girls gotta eat. I grabbed my condiments and took my seat at the table as I sat next to Casey. When she saw me she smiled.
"Alpha." She beamed.
"I've told you before. Call me Bridget." I smiled she nodded.
"Old habits die hard. So Bridget, how's things with Jerome." She asked, smirking. I flushed, shaking my head at her.
"Things are great. He's amazing y'know once you get past all that moodiness," I joked causing her to grin as she twirled her food around on her fork her mood dipping slightly. I frowned, "what's wrong?" She sighed when I asked.
"I just don't think I'm going to find my mate. Usually mates meet each other around the time they are twenty. I'm twenty-two and I still haven't found them." She moaned causing me to frown, I reached over to her and squeeze her hand she smiled sadly at me before nodding towards the door. I released her hand and looked over to the door in walked Jerome I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing. He had a deep bruise surrounding his jaw. I heard about this Seth got him good. He also looked very pissed off.

He set down his plate and slumped into his chair.
"You look delightful." I grinned, he growled at me.
"Shut it." He grumbled, suppressing a grin.
"Make me." I dared raising a brow as he glanced at me, an amused look in his eyes. He licked his lips as my eyes dropped to watch the movement before I quickly averted them. I turned his head to the side so I could see the bruise. I pursed my lips as an idea formed in my head. I poked it hard. He hissed in pain.
"Does it hurt?" I said, holding back my laughter. He glared at me, a twinge of annoyance in his fiery eyes.
"I should get going. See you later, Bridget." Casey said, a small smile on her face. I nodded and said goodbye before turning my attention back to Jerome.
"So how'd training go? There's only three hours until initiation starts." I asked, being serious.
"It went fine." He snapped rudely.
He seemed to be in a mood so I just sat silently beside him eating my food. I didn't want to talk if he was going to snap at me.
"I'm sorry," He mumbled after he had finished eating. I looked at him and nodded, "I didn't mean to snap at you, it's just a little stressful and I'm really not in the mood." He admitted causing me to smile briefly. I leant over and quickly kissed his cheek.
"It's fine. I'm going to wash up and get changed, I'd say you could join me but you're not in the mood." I informed, teasing him. His head snapped up, and he stared at me wide eyed. I sent him a flirtatious wink and made my way towards the door, adding a little extra sway in my hips as I went. I heard him growl and my smile grew.
Teasing him is fun.
I skipped up the stairs two at a time until I was on my floor. I quickly unlocked the door and made my way to my bedroom.
I locked the bathroom door behind me before I switched the shower on, letting it heat up before I got in. I peeled off my clothes and got in, closing the glass door behind me. The hot water made its way down my body, relaxing my muscles as I sighed happily. Steam covered the room as well as the glass of the shower, making it hard to see clearly. I tipped my head back letting the water run through my hair as I smiled feeling relaxed. I quickly began washing my hair. Once my hair was done I quickly began washing the rest of me.
I wrapped the towel around me, making sure it was tight before I stepped out of the bathroom with a cheerful smile on my face. Today was a good day.

I let out a small shriek as I noticed someone sitting in the corner of my room.
"Did I scare you?" He asked, laughing at me. I glared at him and his smile dropped. Without another word, I threw a pen at him. He growled as it collided with his head and dropped onto his lap.
"Get out." I ordered, pointing towards the door. He smirked at me.
"Now why would I do that when the show is just getting started." He winked, causing me to growl.
"Jerome." I warned.
"Want me to take my clothes off too? Make a night out of it." He smirked my mouth dropped open. He did not just say that.
"Say yes." My wolf purred. I shushed her and went back to glaring at Jerome.
"I will count to three. And after that, I won't be held responsible for my actions," I said hotly. "One..." I mumbled, and he stood up and took a step forward, I didn't back down. "Two..." I grumbled.
Soon enough, he was standing right in front of me. His scent surrounded me, making me feel giddy. I closed my eyes, not looking at him.
"Look at me." He ordered I didn't. "Bridget. Open your eyes." He growled, giving in I did. His hands trailed up my arms before he smirked cupping my face in his hand I leaned into his touch the sparks drifting through me calming me instantly I sighed in delight. His hands fell to my waist where he gently pulled me closer I looked into his eyes as his face neared mine our lips inches apart one slight movement and they'd be touching. Just as we were about to close the gap there was a knock at the door. It opened soon after, causing me to step back from Jerome and collect myself.
Eva, Casey, and my little sister Rose bounced into my room. Their faces soon dropped as they saw the situation. I wiped my face of the embarrassment before facing Jerome, "I'll come find you after I'm ready." He nodded and leaned in to place a kiss on my cheek, I smiled as he did so.
"Sorry Romeo but you have to leave so we can beautify my sister." Sassed Rose he looked amused as he left, closing the door behind him. The girls ran up to me squealing like school kids.
"Did we interrupt?" Teased Eva. I shot her a playful glare before I walked into my closet to put on some underwear. I walked out and frowned. "We need to shop. For the party." I mumbled.
For the actual trials, I was simply going to throw on something casual. I slung on my jeans, jumping to pull them over my butt. I then grabbed Jerome's shirt and threw it on before tucking it into my jeans. I then put on a blazer, making sure I look all professional. I looked at the girls; they were deep in conversation.
"Tie your hair up." Ordered Eva, not sparing me a glance as she discussed what colours to use.
"No, her eyes can't be red. Her hair's red and her dress will most likely be red. There is such a thing as too much red." Commented Rose I smiled at her I walked over to her and poked her in the side. Her whole body convulsed as she jumped away. I grinned at her.
"I'll bite you." She growled I laughed at her.
"Sweetie I'm an Alpha. I'd squash you." I sassed back causing her to grin.
"With your fat ass, I'm sure." I gaped at her before pushing her arm that was supporting her head from under her, I laughed as her head hit the bedpost with a small thud. Eva and Casey laughed too. She glared at me before throwing a pillow at me. I caught it and put it on the ground so I could sit on it.
Eva turned to me and told me to scoot forward. Whilst she was working on my face, Casey and Rose worked on my hair. They told me to stay still. Well, more like they warned me to.
An hour later I was done with my make up though the girls were still working on my hair all I could see was that it's curly.
"Okay. It's done and may we say. It's gorgeous." Said Eva excitedly. I walked over to the mirror and gasped. My face was covered in a light layer of foundation and a small amount of concealer hiding my blemishes well. My lipstick was a dusty rose colour as was my eyeshadow only it had more of a purple hue to it making my hazel eyes pop. The look was complete by some impressive winged eyeliner as well as some mascara that made my lashes look extra long. My hair was pinned back on one side more than the other, it was curled to perfection and styled in such a way that it looked so intricate but it was actually quite simple.
I looked hot.
Excitement bubbled within. I couldn't wait for tonight. I turned to the girls with a large grin on my face. To which they were reciprocating.

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. The average chapter will be 2-5k words long, most being around 3k but there are a few less than 1k, due to the nature of the story telling device I used. Book 1 is complete. Posting is on hold until I finish book 2. Book 2 progress: The rough draft is done at 141656 words as of 7/9/2022. I need to reread and edit it but Im aiming for resuming chapters in September.
