《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 14

I wasn't so happy about Bridget going to see Brent, but they are still friends and I can't expect her to not see him because I don't like him. I'd never do that. I walked across the grass towards the fountain where I saw Seth; he was laughing with some girl. His mate, I'm guessing. He noticed me and waved me over. I jogged up towards the fountain crossing the small grass patch I got there quickly Seth winked at me.

"So did I just see you making out with our Alpha." He questioned raising a brow. I stared at him, shocked that he had seen us. I pursed my lips and grinned.

"That you did." I said, smirking.

"You move fast, brother." He laughed, I shrugged.

"It's not like that. If I tell you something could you keep it a secret until it's announced." I said sheepishly, Seth nodded, and he looked towards the girl. She smiled politely.

"She's good with secrets too." Seth said with a smile. He looked at her with so much love it was quite sweet. Though I'd never tell him that.

"I was making out with your Alpha because she's my mate." I said proudly. Seth stared at me and blinked, not saying anything. Until he grinned at me he stood up and hugged me, slapping me on the back as you do.

"Congratulations Jerome. I'm glad you found each other." He said supportively.

"Yeah congratulations." The girl said. I turned to her.

"Sorry I didn't ask for your name."

She smiled at me, "I'm Eva. Seth's mate." She blushes as Seth kissed her cheek. Cute.

"Isn't she gorgeous? I mean, I hit the mate jackpot." He gloated, causing me to chuckle.

"Seth shush." She mumbled softly, causing him to laugh. I twirled the keys into my hand, looking towards the packhouse.

"Well, I best get going, I have to meet Bridget in her room," I said not realising how that would come across "not for that. " I quickly added Seth wiggled his eyebrows at me and I flipped him off.

"Bye it was since meeting you." Eva smiled, and I nodded.

"You too." I said before parting ways with the happy couple.

I surveyed the floor once I had gotten out of the elevator it had a warm and comfortable feeling to it. The walls were painted a light cream colour that made the dark wood floor pop I ventured on forward noticing the kitchen on the left. It too was a simple but intricate design, hard tiled floor with marble countertops and glass cupboards it was well designed. I walked to the room at the end of the hallway and opened the large mahogany door, pushing them outwards. Once I focused on what was inside, I grinned. This girl has two offices. This one was smaller and was used for what imagined was storage. Many boxes were stacked along the back wall, covered in dust. This room wasn't used much, I assumed as I shut the door. I turned to the bedrooms. There were maybe three bigger ones and two smaller ones for guests. I think. I opened a door to one of the rooms, hoping it was Bridget's. It wasn't it belonged to a small boy he turned as the door open and shot out of bed he grabbed the child size baseball bat in his hands and pointed at me. I could smell his fear. My eyes widened, and I threw my hands up to show I wasn't a threat.

"Hey, hey it's okay I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a friend of Bridget, she gave me keys. Look." I said holding them up. He stared at me sceptically before he lowered the bat, not letting it go completely. He walked closer to me and stared at me.

"Your friends with my momma?"

My stomach dropped. She has a child, why has she never mentioned this before. Hurt rippled through me for a brief moment.

"Your momma?" I questioned.

"Yeah. My real momma went to heaven, and the Alpha saved me and I asked her to be my new mommy!" He mumbled sadly tears welling up in his eyes I frowned and walked over to him kneeling and placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey don't cry kid you're okay." I spoke softly. He nodded.

"She is awesome."

I nodded, "that she is kid. That she is," I agreed grinning at him "are you hungry I can cook." I asked, and he nodded.

We walked to the kitchen; I walked behind Theo and noticed something on the back of his neck. It looked like a burn, but it was a symbol of some kind. I would ask, but I thought it was best to leave it.

Theo climbed onto the chair and sat patiently, waiting for me to cook. "What would you like?" I asked, smiling as his face lit up.

"Ooh chocolate cake." He grinned I shook my head with a smile on my face.

"No can do little man. Can't have cake for dinner."

He pouted, and I fought back a grin, "How about we experiment." I said with a grin. I began pulling ingredients out of the cupboards, which was comprised plain noodles, seasoning, and I got some chicken and veg out of the fridge and began working on my masterpiece.

An hour later, I had concocted the best chicken stir-fry of my life. The chicken was diced and drizzled in a sticky barbecue sauce and it was mixed in with the noodles and peppers I added a few spoon fulls of sweet corn because I love it and it fits in. I finished the dinner by adding some rice as a side. If I do say so myself I am an amazing cook.

I severed up a smaller serving for Theo whilst making a plate for Bridget too. Theo sat at the table and dug in. I twisted the noodles around my fork and slurped up the deliciousness.

Bridget came sauntering into the kitchen a while later with a little smile on her face. Once she saw me she walked up to me and kissed me on the cheek. I smiled at her, "I made you a plate, it's on the stove. You might have to warm it up beforehand." I said and watched her hazel eyes widened.

"You made me dinner?" She said skeptically I nodded sheepishly.

"Theo too." I said nodding towards him. She walked over to him and picked him up. He hugged her tightly. She smiled sweetly at him before questioning him.

"Was the food actually nice?" She teased, sending me a funny look. Theo looked at me and laughed as he shook his head.

"It was gross."

I feigned a hurt expression "how dare you." I joked, causing him to giggle and hide behind Bridget. She laughed, smiling at me.

"I'll take you to your room, make sure you wash up before you go to bed, sweetie." She said in a stern mom kinda way. I watched her leave with a smile. I put her plate in the microwave and warmed it up for her until it finished just as she walked back in. I looked her up and down. She had changed into a pair of shorts and a vest top. The shorts clung to her tightly, and they were quite short, making me notice details about her body that I had not previously seen. Such as the birthmark on the top of her leg and the tattoo on her collarbone. How have I not noticed that? My eyes dropped to her chest. A sizeable amount of cleavage was on show and it was hard not to notice. I blinked a few times's before I averted my eyes. Trying not to focus on the inappropriate thoughts swimming around in my head.

"Did you tell Seth?" Asked Bridget as I handed her my plate. I nodded.

"He's sort of my closest friend." I confessed. She nodded, smiling as she tasted the food I made her.

"This is good." She moaned in delight. I turned around, not looking at her as she did it again. I clenched my fists tightly. Trying to clear my head.

"Could you maybe stop that?" I coughed out. She looked at me confused. She must have figured it out because she began laughing. I couldn't look at her, all I wanted to do was tear her clothes off and make her mine. I felt her snake her hands around my waist, leaning her head against my back.

"My apologies Jerome," she mumbled trailing her hands up my chest. I turned around, so I was facing her as she leant up on her tippy toes, her lips hovering over mine "thanks for dinner." She whispered before turning around and walking away. I blinked several times before I growled.

No way is she walking away. I followed her quickly, positioning my body so I was in front of her.

"You're a tease." I growled. She grinned at me before she placed her arms around my neck. I pulled her into me, our bodies pushed completely together. "No fair." I mumbled. She rolled her eyes and pushed me back towards the door she smirked at me before pushing past me making sure our bodies brushed against each other's. I groaned internally.

Cruel.

"Bridget,"

She looked at me with a smirk on her face.

"My room?" I asked she nodded.

"Follow me. I had your stuff moved up here once you agreed to move." She informed. She walked to a door and opened it. As she said all my stuff was here, all unpacked as it was downstairs. It impressed me this room was bigger than my last, which I had expected. The walls were a deep blue, and it suited me well.

"And your room?" I asked with a smirk as she rolled her eyes and pointed to the room opposite mine, "keeping me on a close watch?" She nodded.

"Gotta make sure you don't beat up anymore members of our pack." She said slipping up quickly realising what she said she blushed "my pack." She corrected. I shrugged walking over to her I grabbed her hand softly and pulled her into my room shutting the door behind her. I waked over to the dresser and began pulling off my clothes.

"What are you doing?" She asked. I stood in front of her in just my boxers. Her eyes trailed up my body, taking in my appearance. She bit her lip, looking at the ground.

"I'm covered in blood so I'm going to shower. And after that, we're going to talk about ourselves. I want to know you." I said

She nodded, and I walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind me.
