《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 10

It's been a few weeks since I last spoke to Bridget after our confrontation in the gym I've made it my mission to avoid her I didn't want to say or do something I would regret and even though she hurt me, I couldn't forgive myself if I hurt her. Does that make me an idiot? Probably.
I was on the way to speak to her when I saw Brent walk into her office, but what caught my eye was how she was sitting. Her hands were covering her face, and she looked like she was going to cry, but she quickly composed herself as Brent shut the door. Picturing them alone together made my blood boil. I heard a bang and then I heard Bridget yell, but I couldn't quite catch what she said. I growled and stormed off, making my way to the gym. I walked up to Seth and tapped him on the shoulder before he turned and smiled politely at me.
"Wanna spar?" I asked, trying not to sound angry. He nodded.
"Don't expect me to go easy on you newbie." Seth joked, causing me to smile. I shook my head.
"Course not."
We walked over to the matts where we got into stance. I eyed him carefully as he steps before he punches, so I had to watch his footwork. He stepped with his left so I ducked right and as I did; I sent a jab to his side; he grunted but swiftly and sharply sent out a jab of his own, his elbow connected with my back making me stumble, I quickly caught myself before I fell. I ran at him and tackled him to the ground before I gripped his neck, placing him in a choke hold. He coughed but still tried to escape, so I tightened my grip. His hand came up and forcefully tapped my arm. I immediately let go Seth got to his knees and began coughing. I got up and held my hand out as he took it, and I helped him up.

"You okay?" I asked, and he coughed before nodding.
"I'm good, want to go again?" He questioned, and I was about to agree when an unknown voice spoke up.
"Fight me instead."
Even his voice made me angry. I stood up straight crossing my arms over my chest making sure I looked as intimidating as possible. I cocked a brow, a cocky smirk taking over my face, "sure you can handle it? I mean..." I mocked trailing off. Something looked off with him. His lips were pinched into a straight line, his eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes were dark full of anger alas he rolled his eyes and shrugged off his shirt before walking over to the matts. He looked over to Seth and nodded.
"You don't mind do you Jensen?" Brent asked causing Seth to shake his head I nodded towards Brent and walked over to the matt and stood opposite him I narrowed my eyes at him. "I won't hold back." He growled, causing me to smirk.
"Even if you did, I'd still win." I shot back, loving the angered expression that he was now wearing. He made the first hit. The pain erupted in my jaw before I registered what he even did. I recoiled stumbling backwards he sent another blow to my face his fist collided with my nose making my eyes water and my vision blur, I spat the blood out of my mouth before I smirked at him. "That the best you got?" I mocked as I shoved him backwards.
"No, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Don't believe me, ask Bridget." He taunted causing me to growl I smashed my fist into his face once, then once again. He ducked my third on coming hit and ran at me tackling me to the ground, the slap of my body against the matt rang out as I collided with it I held back a groan. He straddled me and sent a few hits to my face before I swiftly pushed him off of me. I grabbed the sides of his head and watched as his eyes widened as I pulled his face into mine bashing his head off mine I blinked the black dots that clouded my vision away before I sent another punch to his face. He fell to the floor spluttering on the blood that had collected in his mouth before he spat it out. He began laughing. The blood that ran from his nose had dripped down into his mouth staining his teeth, the red gleam of his blood pleased me.

"How do I taste?" he asked causing me to pause confused "Bridget always loved to swallow so, again I'll ask you again how do I taste." He said grinning. I could feel the rage burn up inside of me like a black cloud of death. I snarled at him, my wolf was taking over and I could feel the change coming on but I fought it back as best as I could. My claws had now fully extended as had my canines hair had sprouted from my skin. My wolf was a rare black colour, usually relating to power. And I think this scared him because Brent's face paled as I advanced on him, I growled but he smirked causing my control to fly out the window and that's when the world went black.
I heard the blows, the grunts, the screams. But I remembered nothing except the rage. That white hot, burning rage. Never have I been so angry before, not even when I found out Jeremiah was sleeping with Autumn. This anger. This is the anger that drives people to kill that's driving me to kill. I heard echos of people telling me to stop, but I physically couldn't until I hear her.
"Jerome, baby, please. Come back to me." She whispered, I felt her hand on my shoulder and every cell in my body craved to finish Brent off. To kill him for touching what's mine. But the minor part of me that was still human and not feral halted me. The world around me came back into focus, like a picture being painted before your eyes. I blinked rapidly blood was splattered around the matt but mostly on me my hand reached up to the one on my shoulder I turned around to see Bridget standing there. The fear in her eyes was hidden, but I could see it. She feared me and that crushed me. I stumbled away from her. "You're okay." She whispered, but I knew I wasn't. I shifted into my wolf, giving her one last look before I bolted through the window. The glass shattered around me, but I was too caught up in my own head to care. I bolted into the woods so I could be alone, so I could be in a place where I couldn't hurt anyone else.
Where I couldn't hurt her.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
