《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 8

I felt bad. I hurt her and then avoided her for a week. It's been a week since my little tantrum and I feel stupid I just didn't know what to say to her I mean I was a jerk. I guess I could just apologise and be done with it.
Yes. That's exactly what I will do. I looked at the time 04:52 am. Okay, so maybe not now.
I sighed and closed my eyes willing sleep to take me to a better place eventually it did.
I woke about an hour ago. Now I have to train with only an hours' sleep in me. I rolled my eyes. Great. I got up and decided to skip the shower since I'd be training, anyway. I threw on some shorts and brushed my hair before I could throw on a shirt. There was a soft knock on the door. I didn't recognise the scent. Hmm. I made my way over to the door and opened it, standing before me was a small petite girl she was around 5'2 and had black hair with blue ends. She couldn't have been older than 16. I cocked a brow.
"Umm can I help you?" I asked, confused. She blushed.
"Jerome Morton?" She asked timidly I nodded in response. "You have a visitor. Some dude he said he's your brother." She said, and I scowled but nodded. I proceeded to follow her not before I put on a shirt. We walked through most of the pack house before we walked into an office like room where my brother stood his posture was ridged, his face was pinched as he gripped his jeans tightly, there were black rings around his eyes he looked tired. Broken.
"You look marvellous." I said sarcastically. Before I turned to the girl who escorted me here. I smiled at her "thank you..." I trailed off not knowing her name.
"Jamie." She provided, I nodded, and she left. I turned my gaze to my brother, a hard glare in my eyes. I walked over to him and stood in front of him. His eyes were filled with relief.
"Brother-" I growled, cutting him off.
"Do not call me that. You lost all right when you stole my mate!" I spat venomously he visibly deflated and suddenly it all became clear. He wants something. "What do you need?" I asked in a bored tone as he looked at me. His eyes were frantic.

"It's Autumn. She's... sick." He said worriedly. I shrugged, not even slightly bothered.
"And?"
"And?! AND! I need you to come back home. Her wolf is shutting down, and it's all YOUR fault! You selfish, son of a bitch!" He roared in my face as he grabbed me by my shirt and pulled me forward I heard a slight tear meaning he had just ripped my shirt. I was utterly outraged. I pushed him off of me and sent a hard punch to his face, knocking him to the ground. He scrambled back to his feet and snarled at me. I rolled my eyes.
"Careful pup. You might end up hurt." I mocked, causing him to growl so loud the room shook slightly. I rolled my eyes for what seemed like the millionth time.
"You need to help her," he demanded. I scoffed my anger bubbled and my control was slipping "you did this to her. You are killing her. You are the reason she might die. If you do not help her, I swear I'll end you." He roared as he lunged and me his canines snapped at my neck as he bit down on my shoulder causing me to grunt. I couldn't help it, I rendered all control, and it pissed my wolf off. I could feel my vision blur as he took over.
I shoved Jeremiah off me and punched him until I felt the crack of his bones as my fist connected with his face. I pushed him so hard he went crashing through a table. I straightened out my shirt and walked over to him slowly. Once I had reached him I grabbed him and slammed him into the wall causing him to groan in pain. I heard the door slam open; I knew it was Bridget, but I didn't care to stop. My hands were around his throat and I was choking him.
"Jerome! Stop." I heard her yell, but I didn't.
"How dare you!" I seethed, spit was flying from my mouth as I yelled. "How dare you come here seeking my help? When YOU were the one who tortured me FOR YEARS. FOR YEARS YOUR BETRAYAL CONTINUED EVEN AFTER I ADMITTED TO YOU IT WAS DESTROYING Me! I watched you and her. So NO, I will not help her. I will not help you. In fact, I think I'll kill you!" I screamed as I punched a hole in his chest, gripping his heart.

I felt Bridget grab me, her touch sent waves of tingles throughout my body. I turned to her with a look of rage so powerful she looked stunned.
"He's an Alpha. You cannot kill him, that's grounds for war." She said calmly, I laughed bitterly.
"He's no Alpha. He. Is. Weak." I spat each word as I went to rip his heart from his chest, Bridget spoke up again and what she said shook me back to reality.
"That maybe so but if you kill him not only are you signing your death certificate but you'll be signing mine too. Is that what you want?" She said a desperate edge to her tone. I looked at her, her hazel eyes were frantic as she gripped my arm. I reluctantly let go of his heart for the second time someone had stopped me from ending his pathetic existence.
"There will not be a third time I will not let you live a third time. I do not care about what that would mean for Autumn. She. Is. Dead. To. Me. Understand that brother. You and her need to stay the hell out of my life or I will kill you," I paused, "both of you." I spat, causing him to recoil in shock. I shoved him back and walked out of the room where I slumped to the floor. My head was a mess. I was a mess.
Bridget soon followed out, a million questions swimming in her eyes. She took my non-bloody hand and pulled me toward what I assumed was her office. Once we were behind the mahogany doors, I sighed tears threatened to spill. I'm pretty sure I looked like the pathetic, weak one. She held my hand and despite everything. I pulled her into my chest, needing her to calm me.
"I'm sorry." I breathed, feeling incredibly guilty.
"Don't apologise." She breathed as she pulled back. Her soft eyes enticed me and I felt myself lean in, but she didn't. "I need to know what that was about." She said shifting into Alpha mode. I sighed.
"He betrayed me." Was all I said causing her to sigh.
"You almost assassinated an Alpha in my common room, I'm going to need a little more information as to why." She said sharply, causing me to smirk.
"I gathered you'd say that. He... he's the reason I left my old pack." I admitted.
"But he's your brother."
I growled. "He is nothing of the sort. He mentally and emotionally tortured me for three years."
Bridget frowned, and the sad look that overcame her features made my heart clench. "I'm sorry, Jerome." She mumbles lightly. I shrugged.
"So I've been reading. This thing between us it's rare but not impossible it's... err... well it happens when the original mating pair are taken from each other too soon. Whether it's down to teams or rejection, it happens I guess out damaged souls found each other." I said with a slight chuckle. Bridget held my gaze as she grasped my hand in hers and kissed it. For some reason Autumn popped into my head, causing me to rip my hand away.
"But what do you care?" I growled and made my way to the door.
"Jerome!" She yelled after me, but I was already halfway down the hall. I bumped into Brent on the way to my room. He tsked but said nothing.
It had been around 10 minutes since my outburst and I was on my way back to apologise for the way I acted. As I got to the door, I saw Bridget push Brent backwards. And what he said next made my body shake with rage. My eyes were darkening and my claws had begun to pierce the skin on my palms.
"You weren't complaining last week when I took you against that tree." Brent said as he grabbed her waist. I wanted nothing more than to rip his head off his shoulders.
I growled loudly, resisting the urge to snap his neck. I glared at Bridget, my anger reaching additional levels.
Fuck this, I thought bitterly as I stormed off for the second time today.
