《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 7

I awoke with the same dull ache in my chest. Yesterday's confrontation with Jerome left me feeling uneasy, I don't like this uncertainty between us. I want to know what will happen, so I'm preparing for the worst.
I stared at the ceiling of my bedroom for a while before I dragged myself out of bed, the cool air greeted me as soon as I lifted the comforter off of my body shattering my warmth. I rubbed my arms with my hand. It sure is cold today. I glanced at the clock; it was 5:30am meaning I have half an hour to get ready.
After I had showered and gotten into my workout gear, which was a simple sports bra and some leggings. I threw my wet hair into a messy bun and made my way down the stairs. I couldn't sense Jerome and it made me feel anxious ever since I laid eyes on him, I've wanted to be near him, to throw my arms around him and let him heal my broken soul, alas that cannot happen. I'm too damaged.
I grabbed an apple and a bottle of water and made my way to the training field. I usually over see training unless I am busy, but I try to make it to the morning sessions as much as I can. I arrived at the gym a few warriors were here already causing me to smile slightly. Dedication is key in my eyes. You'll get nowhere if you give up at the first hurdle. I walked over to where Brent was working out. He was doing press-ups so naturally I sat on his back applying all my weight. Brent laughed and continued to do his press-ups. My weight wasn't even affecting him in the slightest.
"Nice try but I could lift ten of you," he said smirking. I got off him and helped him up, he looked me up and down before he winked at me "Looking good darlin'." He flirted causing me to roll my eyes and walk off his comments didn't affect me in the slightest anymore. Odd. Normally when he flirted, I'd have to hold back a blush or two but now. Nothing. I shook my head and walked over to my corner and started my warm up routine. I did a few simple stretches before I got down to the heavy stuff. I heard the door open and immediately knew Jerome had just walked in. My wolf perked up, causing me to groan lowly.

As training went on, I couldn't help but steal glances at Jerome. I noticed how when he was struggling his posture would tighten and his top lip would lift into a small snarl, I also noticed he was a skilled fighter and damn did he look good whilst doing it. Every punch, every flex, every grunt made me want things I shouldn't want. I could feel his eyes on me too, which made the situation worse. I felt guilty. I shouldn't be feeling this way.
When the guilt got too much, I had to leave. I pushed the door open as I did; I was greeted with a chest. I pushed the person back and cursed.
"Oh, my apologies, Bridget didn't see you there." A deep voice spoke out I looked up to see drake. He's Tommy's father and an all round exceptional guy. I grinned at him.
"Don't worry about it. Oh, and I'll forgive your tardiness as I know your busy." I said with a wink as he chuckled.
"Thanks for that. Anyway, I best get stared. See you around Alpha." He politely excused himself and I nodded, moving out of his way.
"Wanna go for a run?" I asked my wolf causing her to bark in excitement. Guess I have my answer, I smiled and made my way to the trees behind me when're I peeled my sweat covered clothes off me and shifted. The familiar sensation of the change ripped through me as my body rearranged itself until I was standing in my wolf form. Once I shook out the kinks in my body I took off into the woods.
The run was relaxing, but I was on high alert. I was being followed. I ran, zipping through the trees until I was very far ahead. I hid behind a tree, waiting to attack. And once I had my opening, I did. I pounced at the wolf in front of me snarling are them. I landed on them and I pushed my paws into the person's back, causing them to whine. I knocked them over, causing us to go rolling down the bank. They pinned me, but only for a moment before I kicked them off using my hind legs. Once I had gotten up, I got into an attack stance and snarled. That was until I recognised them. I growled and shifted back, not caring about my nakedness.

"What the hell. Why are you following me Brent?" I muttered hotly, my anger flaring. What the hell is he playing at. He shifted back with a large grin on his face.
"I was checking in on you. You looked upset when you left the gym." He said smiling I rolled my eyes.
"And instead of announcing your presence you followed me like a creeper?" I shot back, still annoyed.
Now he rolled his eyes, "I'm no creeper. I was seeing how long it took you to notice me, you dork." He said as he bashed his shoulder into mine. I laughed lightly as I leaned back against the tree. He took in the view before he closed the distance between us, his body pressed against mine. My wolf snarled, no longer liking his touch.
"Brent-" I started, but he cut me off by kissing me. Everything was an unfamiliar mess, but this feeling with him was familiar. And that's exactly what I needed right now. So I didn't push him away, instead I wrapped my legs around his waist and kissed him harder. He growled as his hands wondered across my body, caressing every curve. I faked a moan so he wouldn't think things were different. I can't say I was enjoying it as much as I used to... or wanted to, for that matter. Things escalated quickly, and the next thing I knew there was no turning back now. I wanted to escape the guilt, and that's exactly what I was doing.
My eyes fluttered open as the night sky greeted me as I stared blankly at the sky above me. I felt Brent next to me, his firm arms held me tightly, but I pulled away feeling horrible and slightly disgusted in myself.
Oh god, what have I done. I shook him awake his groggy eyes stared at me, confusion swimming in his blue orbs. "Get up," I whispered he did so. "We missed dinner." I mumbled. As I began flinging my clothes on.
I had just slept with him.
I'm a horrible person. How could I have let myself get carried away?
Oh no.
