I got out of bed and took a shower then when i was done i dressed into some leggings and a crop top, i grabbed my converse put them on as well, i blow dried my black hair then straightened it, once i was done i put my makeup on then went downstairs.

I saw my mom and my dad sitting talking in their inside voice, i walked in and cleared my throat they both jumped and looked at me smiling, i smiled back and went over to the both of them kissing their cheeks. "Goodmorning mom, dad." I said pouring in a cup of water.

My mom smiled brightly. "Good morning darling." She said, my dad looked at me and smiled.

"Layla we need to talk to you." My dad said and i nodded walking with my cup of water and sat down. "Layla-" He sighed and rubbed his face making me look at him confused. "We need you to do something for us." He said and i nodded for him to continue. "Layla you are going to marry one of my friends son." I looked at him with wide eyes and put my cup down on the table.

I narrowed my eyes. "Wh-What please dad tell me this is a joke." I said shaking my head, they both shook their heads. "Dad! please! Don't do this to me." I rubbed my forehead.

He sighed and stood up. "Layla you promised me you will do anything i wanted you to do, please do this for this family." He said making me breath hard. "Maybe you will change your mind when i tell you who it is, its the mahfud family." Mahfud family! the richest people in the city.

I shook my head look at them in disappointment. "You think i'll agree because they are the richest family out there! Dad i'm not a gold digger and you know that i don't care about money." I said with tears streaming down my face.

My mother rolled her eyes. "We are broke Layla! next thing you know we will be on the street that's why we are forcing you to marry Toni! His own father asked for you so we will give you to him." She said angrily.

I closed my eyes then ran past them upstairs to my room slamming the door shut and locking it, i slowly slid down the door crying my eyes out, they have never yelled at me or forced me to do something why are they acting like this now?

I don't have anywhere to escape, i don't have friends to help me, i don't have anything, so i guess i will be forced into this marriage, i walked towards my bed and laid down thinking what would happen when i marry him.

"What the fuck do you mean i'm forced to marry one of your friends daughter?!" I yelled at my dad.

He looked at me and sighed. "Toni sit down." He said.

I chuckled sarcastically. "Are you fucking kidding me? sit down? That's what you are gonna say you are forcing me to marry someone i don't even fucking know!" I yelled.

My mom sighed sitting down. "Look this girl is amazing she is beautiful once you see her you will fall in love with her and want to get to know her." She said making me groan.

I rubbed my face in frustration. "This is for the best! for you and your company!" My dad shouted angrily.

I clenched my jaw. "Its for the best? its for the worst you mean!" I said storming out of the house. "Fuck! Fuck! This is fucking bullshit!" I kicked the wall as hard as i could.

I turn to see my brother Kevin looking at me. "Dude calm down, its not that bad unless the girl is ugly as fuck." He said smirking.

I sighed and sat down on one of the chair in front of the house he came and sat beside me. "You know that i'm not the type to be in a relationship." I balled my fist.

He sighed. "Look at least try, we are going to visit them tonight, lets see how she is." He said standing up and walking inside.

How does the bitch even look, she is probably a snobby gold digging slut, I sighed and stood up walking into the house.

My mom came in and told me to get ready because they are coming in a few hours, i sighed and grabbed one of my dresses and put it on.

I grabbed my straightener and straightened my hair, after i was done i grabbed my makeup bag and did my makeup, once i was done i put on my shoes and sprayed perfume on then walked downstairs out of my room, i heard voices they must have came, i saw my mom walking upstairs. "They are here come." She said with a bright smile.

I gave her a blank expression and walked downstairs not saying one word, once i made it i saw the family, i looked down feeling my eyes water i blinked my tears away. "This is my daughter Layla." i heard my dad say, i know they were waiting for me to say welcome but i kept my head down.

My mom squeezed my hand. "Sorry she is just shy." She said, i slowly looked up and looked at the beautiful blonde haired woman that looks like my mom's age.

She smiled at me. "Hi." I said shyly, she walked towards me in awe, then pulled me into a hug.

"Hello! my god you look beautiful." She said putting her palm on my cheek looking at me with love, i smiled.

my eyes landed on the family there was a man that must be the father, and two guys one of them were looking at me nodding, which i nodded back while the other one was staring at me with a blank expression and i saw a girl who looked my age.

"Well come sit down." My dad said leading them to the living room, i slowly followed.

I sat down beside that girl that looked my age she looked at me and flashed me a smile. "Hi! i'm Katherine, but you could call me Kat." She said, I smiled and nodded looking at my hands.

My mom looked at me then at the guy with the grayish and bluish eyes. "Layla this is Toni." She said and i glanced at him then back at my hands, i'm guessing he is the one i'm marrying.

"Nice to meet you Layla." I heard his husky voice.

I slowly looked up meeting his eyes. "You too." I said with my low voice, we stared at each other for a while but then we both broke eyes contact when my mom spoke up.

"I guess its dinner time, Layla help me with the kitchen." She said and i nodded getting up from my seat.

Mrs. Mahfud stood up as well. "Me and Katherine would love to help as well." She said smiling.

My mom shook her head. "Your a guest please sit down." She said.

But Mrs. Mahfud shook her head stubbornly. "Nope i'm helping!" She insisted standing up while her daughter followed her action, we went to the kitchen, Katherine helped me put plates down.

"I'm glad you are going to marry my brother not some snobby bitch." Katherine whispered.

I laughed. "What would you do if i was some snobby B word?" I asked not wanting to say the curse word because i don't like curse words.

She laughed. "I don't even know." She said, i chuckled.

After we were done talking and putting stuff down on the table, everyone came and sat down while i was grabbing some more food that wasn't on the table, while i was putting the mash potato in a bowl i accidentally burnt my hand i was about to scream but hurried and bit my lip acting natural, after i was done sticking it in the bowl i rushed to the table and put it down.

My mom looked at me confused when she saw me walk out of the kitchen, i ran towards the upstairs bathroom putting my hand under cold water, i heard a knock on the door, i know its my mom. "Mom wait i burnt my hand i'll be out in a second." I said.

The door opened showing that it wasn't my mom but it was my soon to be husband, he looked at my eyes then my hand. "Your parents sent me to what you were doing." He said looking like he didn't want to talk to me.

I let out a breath. "They think i'll escape." I muttered. looking down at my hand, grabbing the first aid kit applying some cream on my hand. "What has gotten into them?" I mumbled to myself forgetting Toni was in the room.

After i was done i put the aid box back where it was. "Why do you want to marry me?" He asked clenching his jaw. "Is t because of money? I can give you fucking money!" He shouted making me stumble back hitting the sink behind me. "Is it the richness? fame? tell me what is it?" He asked angrily with his very dark eyes, i looked at him frightened, they want me to marry him? a guy that scares me?

I shook my head with watery eyes. "I tried disagreeing but they forced me to do it." I said in a low tone looking at my feet.

I heard him sigh. "This is fucking stupid! Fuck so stupid! I'm gonna be stuck with you for the rest of my life." He said angry.

I played with my fingers. "I'm sorry for you being forced into this marriage, i'm sorry for being born, i'm sorry for you being thrown in my life, i'm sorry." I said not looking at him feelings tears sting my eyes and walked past him out of the bathroom.

I went downstairs and saw everyone sitting there talking about the engagement, i went over and sat down beside Toni's mom, i put in tiny amount of food, i look up to see Toni coming and sitting across me, i looked at my plate not daring to look up.

Everyone went quiet and i know they are looking at the both of us. "Did you guys get to know each other well?" I heard Kevin say.

I didn't say anything but Toni did. "Yeah we did." I heard him say his voice caused shivers to go down my spine.

"Great!" I heard my mom say excitedly. "Well the engagement is next week" She said.

I stopped eating and looked at my mom with a disappointing look, she glared at me. Once everyone was finished eating i picked up the plates and Katherine helped, once i was done cleaning the kitchen. I walked into the living room to see an empty seat next to Toni.

I walked towards the chair and sat down making sure i don't touch him. "before the engagement i will take Layla shopping." Jennifer said.

I looked at my hands. "That would be great." My mom said, making me look at her with a clenched jaw.

After a while Toni and his family stood up. "Thank you for having us Mary." Jennifer said.

"Please come back again." My mom said.

We walked towards the door and i opened it everyone walked out except Toni he looked at me with anger he was about to say something but when everyone looked at him with a smile. "Goodbye." He said through his teeth clenched.

He hates me to death. "bye." I mumbled.

They all walked towards their car and got in then drove off.

I sighed and walked inside, my parents followed. "Next time they come look up, it looks like we beat you to death and told you to never look up." My mom said angrily, she has never acted like this she was always loving.

I looked at my dad and he glared at me. "She is right!" He said through his clenched teeth.

"Why are you acting like this you are never like this! you guys were always loving what the hell happened?" I asked.

They smirked. "Things have changed." My dad said.

I felt tears sting my eyes and i ran upstairs into my room locking the door, i went towards my bed and laid myself down crying. I have nobody and i will never have anybody.
