《The Pet》Right

"I told you he was going to do something." Zach said sitting to my right at the table for lunch.

"Zach, shut up." I said not in the mood for his smart ass comments. I knew my father was going to want to see my pet sooner or later, but not the first day I got her, and I definitely wasn't expecting to drink from her either.

"Well I am trying to help you with your father, but you keep not listening, and look at where it gets you." he said before drinking from his challus.

"I don't need your help" I said, giving him a side glare.I have always been a very independent person. My whole childhood I would stay in my room playing the piano, instead of going out and playing with kids. During school, I would sit in the back, not say anything, and work by myself. But it was where I met Zach. One day he decided to sit with me on the bench during recess and talk to me. I ignored him for the first couple of times, but when he came around for the tenth time I knew he wasn't going to leave me. So we became friends, and he made me become a little more social.

When I hit my teens, I dropped out of school, so I could start learning to become Lord. My father kept me in the castle reading book after book, and teaching me all about the society of vampires. My father and I had, and still do have a hard time agreeing on some of the laws in the vampire world. That would lead to beatings and getting cuts that I couldn't heal because of his power he has of being Lord, preventing me from healing. So now I just have scars all over my body, that I could do nothing about. I try and not let my father get to me but, it is hard when anytime I see him I get bright back to the past.

"What blood type is she? '' Zach asked, catching me off guard. I furrow my brows and look at him.

"What?"

"What's her blood type?"

"Why do you care?" I asked

"Just curious I guess" he said with a shrug

I rolled my eyes, "I don't know."

He looked at me like I was stupid, "What do you mean you don't know?"

"It was missing in her file, the owner said it didn't match up with anything they had." I said.

He looked down at his food with furrowed brows thinking, "Well did it taste good?"

"Zach really?" I asked about to rip his head off for asking so many questions.

"What, I can't know?"

I just rolled my eyes and took a sip of blood from my chalice. I furrowed my brows in disgust and swallowed it.

What the hell?

"James!" I yelled. Not even a second late,

A scrawny young boy comes running up to me.

"Yes master?" He asked in a terrified voice. James is my servant. He has been for two years now, and he is well taught about being obedient.

"What is this?" I asked holding up my chalice.

"It is your animal blood, that you always request master." He said with his voice shaking.

"When did it expire?"

"It doesn't expire for the next three months, master" he said

I looked at him in confusion. Then why does it taste like shit?

"You are excused," I said relaxing back in my seat, and setting the chalice down.

"You liked it didn't you?"

I turn my head to see Zach smirking.

"What?"

"You liked it didn't you? You have drank animal blood for years now, even after drinking from a human and not having a problem. Now you drink from her, and it tasted so good, you can't drink your usual go to without disgust on your face." He said smirking

I didn't respond, instead I got up from my seat and left the table. I didn't need him to see that he was right.

He was right.

It tasted amazing. It was the best thing I have tasted in my life. The sweetness it had when it touched my tongue. The silky smooth texture it had went down my throat. The scent that came off of her body, while sinking my teeth into her. Vanilla. The way she layed in my arms limp. Her face full of pace and beauty-

Stop. What am I saying?

I let out an aggressive sigh while walking to my room. I came to a stop when I made it to my door, I took a deep breath before unlocking the door and entering.

Once I entered the room, I looked at the window to see if she was there drawing. But she wasn't. I looked to my right to see if she was sitting on the couch by the fireplace.

Not there either

I then looked to my right to see something that made my breath hitch.

Emberlynn Rose, asleep in my bed with a piece of paper on her lap, and a pencil in her hand.

I shut the door behind me and made my way towards her.

She looked so peaceful. It was probably the first peaceful sleep she had in a long time. I looked at the plate I gave her and saw she ate a little bit. Not a lot but at least she ate.

I then turned back to her and took the pencil out of her hand and set it on the nightstand by the bed. I then took the drawing away and looked at it. I smiled at what I saw,

A Rose

A single rose

I set the paper aside and laid her down and covered her back up. She must still not feel great for her to be back asleep.

I went to the other side of the bed and laid down. I could use some sleep as well. I looked up at the ceiling thinking about what Zach said,

I liked it
