The prince of the vampire lord himself. The prince who is said to be the most ruthless and most feared.

Why would he be in a pet shop? Couldn't one of his servants come to buy him one?

Me and the shop owner were still looking at him in shock of why he was here and not a servant. However we were still holding eye contact.

"Prince Knight, what brings you here?" The owner asked in a hurried manner to make sure he looked presentable.

"I am here, to buy one of your pets, obviously ." He said, as he broke eye contact with me to look at the owner. I was too distracted by his deep but beautiful voice. There was something angelic about as well, which helped his looks.

"Oh, well of course, take a look around, find what you like." he said with a smile as he moved out of the way so he could walk around.

He started to walk towards the cages filled with girls. The sound of his shoes hitting the wooden, sent a chill down my spine as he walked past me to go down the hall full of cages. My heart was pounding like usual when someone comes in to buy a pet, but this time was worse. He is the prince of Illia, who is said to be evil and has no remorse, and right now he is about to choose a pet to take home.

I watched him as he walked down the hall full of girls who were in cages and terrified just like me. Once he hit the end of the hallway he stopped, he stood there for a second, then turned on his heels and started walking back to the front of the store.

Is he not going to buy a pet? What is he doing?

It is very rare when a vampire leaves the shop without buying a pet. Very rare.

Once he got to the front of the shop, he turned around so he saw facing me. My heart started pounding out of my chest as he was coming closer. Once he was a foot away from my cage, he crouched down to be eye level with me. My breath hitched as we made eye contact again but, I also felt a shock throughout my whole body as I stared into those piercing blue eyes. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, but what was for only seconds until he looked me up and down and spoke,

" I'll take this one"

I froze, it felt like time stopped. This cannot be happening, I literally just said I couldn't handle being bought by a vampire, and how it would break me. Did I just jinx myself? No, no, no, no please just be a dream.

"Her!" The owner said in a surprise tone like he was shocked he picked me.

"Yes, is that a problem?" He said as he turned his head to glance at the owner.

"No, no it's just she could be a handful." He responded quickly, trying not to start an argument.

"I think I can handle her." He said in a reassuring tone while he turned to look back at me.

"Well then, ok" the owner said as he walked towards the cage to unlock it.

I was still in shock from being picked, that I didn't even realize that the owner had unlocked the door and was starting to pull on my leash to get me out.

"Hey, let's go" the owner said as he tugged harder on the leash to get me to get my attention and stand up.

I started to stand up and as I did, my back started to ache from the lashes I got last night for waking up sleeping beauty. I tried not to groan as I stood up because I didn't want to show that I was hurt. Once I was fully standing, I let out a breath and started walking to the front desk.

"Why is she bleeding?" Zayne asked in a confused but almost angry tone.

"Needed to be taught a lesson about not waking people up" the owner said with no emotion while walking up to the desk.

"Mmm" Zayne said while following us to the desk.

Once at the desk, the owner handed Zayne my folder with my information on it and a new leash because the one I had now was thrashed and on the verge of breaking.

"What's her blood type?" Zayne asked as he was looking through the folder with all my information on it.

"We don't know, it didn't match up with anything." The owner answered as he was checking out the leash and stuffing it into a bad and handing it to Zayne.

Zayne hummed in confusion and took the bag from the owner and grabbed on to the one on me and started heading towards the door.

"Thank you." Zayne said before exiting and me following behind.

"You're welcome, your highness, enjoy your new pet." The owner said while glaring back at me.

Once we exited the shop, I squinted my eyes almost shut to adjust to the brightness of the sun.

Oh yeah, that whole thing about vampires not being able to be in the sun, yeah that was a lie, it was made up just to scare people from being out at night.

We started walking towards the car with me following behind. Once we got to the car, a servant opened the door for us to get in. I got in first and adjusted myself so my back wouldn't touch the seat. Zayne got in seconds later and ordered the driver to head towards the castle.

But one question just kept running in my head,

What just happened?
