Sahar leaned back in the door. Crying her heart out, She badly wanted to scream, after all, she saw her father for the first time in her life, today. She couldn't figure out how she was feeling at the moment. Pissed, sad, regret... She couldn't name one with the number of tangled emotions she felt within herself. Dropping her head in between her knees, she cried again. This time, her hiccups took over and making it worse than it was previously.

Her eyes snapped open when she heard the door banging behind her. Izhaan's voice filled with worry and concern as he called out her name, "Sahar open the door. Stop thinking about him. Your father can't do anything now."

"Leave me alone, Izhaan. Please!" She yelled back at him. But he didn't budge from there. He kept banging the door calling her out.

"Open the door, Sahar!"

"Open the damn door!"

"If you don't open the door, I will do things which will make things worst. Open the goddamn door."

And lastly, she stood up and went to the washroom. Washing her face and correcting her hijab, she opened the door. With a tear-stricken face, Sahar stared at his eyes. "What do you want, Izhaan? Don't you see? I just want some time alone to accept the fact that I met my father. That father who left my mother for a mere lie!"

"You want some time alone for yourself? You have spent 10 hours alone! Don't you think that's more than enough?" Izhaan lost his temper. He didn't want to see her cry for someone who made her life upside down. She shivered at his tone. He never yelled at her. He sighed realising that he was harsh to her. A minute passed by as they stood silently. The aura around was making it hard.

With a soft tone; he began,

"Sahar, I am just trying to make you understand that he is not worth your tears. You have been crying for 10 hours now. It's not good for health yaar."

Sahar ignored the urge to cry and sat back in her bed, feeling the softness of the mattress covered in a white bedsheet. She looked towards the window as tears started to form in her eyes.

"Sahar, I am sorry for yelling at you. I know I never did but when you are concerned, I get mad."

Sahar sat still crying. Not only for Shahnawaz but also for Izhaan who never yelled at her, earlier. "Sahar please don't cry-"

A knock was heard. Izhaan looked back at the person standing near the door. A maid stood looking down.

"I am sorry for disturbing sir. But someone named Shahveer Siddiqui has come to meet Sahar Ma'am."

"Shahveer Siddiqui? That person from that family has guts to enter my place?" He started to walk towards the door but Sahar tried to stop him.

"Izhaan stop please!"

"Izhaan, don't fight please!"

"Izhaan no stop there damn it!"

"Izhaan..."

She kept calling him but he never heard her. He walked forward without listening to her as if his ears were turned deaf. They stopped in the living room. Shahveer was staring at the paintings of nature hanging in the wall. He looked back at Izhaan and Sahar, taken aback by their sudden presence behind him. He straightened himself but Izhaan gave him no time.

"How dare you enter our place?"

"Pardon?" He shrugged his shoulders making it clear that he didn't want to understand what Izhaan had just said. Izhaan chuckled. "You are not dumb or deaf, are you?"

After a pause; he added, "People from Siddiqui family are not allowed in my place, Mr Shahveer. I hope I don't have to repeat."

Shahveer stood in front of him as he said, "Of course, you don't have to. You are forgetting something, aren't you? My beloved cousin, Sahar is also from the Siddiqui family." Izhaan rolled his eyes and smiled, "She has no ties with that family except for blood which she loathes herself. Even if she does has a bigger relation with that family. She is ours more because she is my fiance. You better stop explaining where Sahar belongs."

His heart dropped at the thought of her being engaged with Izhaan. Deep down in his heart, he cherished her. For the way, she carried herself simple, plain, elegant, beautiful inside out and much more. He looked taken aback as soon as he heard she can never be his. For the first time in his life, he saw a home in her. The proposals suggested by his mom always made him feel uncomfortable but he began dreaming about Sahar for her elegance.

"That doesn't matter. No matter how many relations she has with you or your family, at last she is my Taaya Abbu's daughter. And the eldest daughter of Siddiqui Family. You can't change that fact, Mr Izhaan."

Sahar looked up at him. He was her cousin? Her chacha's son? She never imagined destiny to unite them before knowing their relations. He was just a stranger who helped her for him.

"Siddiqui family? That Siddiqui family? Who doesn't care about women? That Siddiqui family who leave their daughter-in-law for a mere lie. That Siddiqui family? Are you talking about them?"

Shahveer turned to a side, rolling his eyes and his hands turned into a fist. Knuckles turning white slowly as he tapped his foot on the floor, he clenched his jaw. Sahar felt his anger rising as he looked at him.

"What happened Mr Shahveer? Can't you tolerate a thing told against your family? When my Phupho was fully humiliated by them for no reason."

"Izhaan stop," Sahar requested. "Please."

"Why should I, Sahar? Don't they deserve to know how you and Phupho suffered?" Izhaan turned towards her as he asked.

"Izhaan please, don't. I don't want to talk about the past again and again. Let's just move on," She stated.

"What's the reason you're here, Mr Shahveer?" Sahar questioned. "I need to talk to you about something. It's very important."

Izhaan and Sahar looked at each other before he continued, "... Alone."

"How dare you?!" Izhaan interfered but Sahar stopped him and looked towards Shahveer. She directed him towards the garden. As they stood opposite to each other in the green grass below them, Sahar began,

"What do you want to talk about, Mr Shahveer?"

"Ummm... I don't know how I should say it to you. I don't even want to run around the bushes."

"Say it, Mr Shahveer." She called out.

"I know you and Myza Taayi Ammi had been deeply hurt by my family's stupid allegations. I know it was hard living life with this pain but trust me, Ms Sahar. Taaya abbu hasn't forgiven himself for the crime our Daadi Ammi did and I know my words don't justify how much pain you guys would have felt."

Sahar sighed, refusing the urge to cry. A lump formed in her throat, making it hard for her to breathe. She looked towards the trees in front of her. Taking deep breaths, she looked back at Shahveer.

"I know I am in no position to force you but I can request you at least. Taaya abbu is very sick, Sahar. He only wishes for 2 things and no one can do it besides you."

Her eyes widen as she heard about his father being sick. She turned towards him. "What happened to him?"

"He had a heart attack earlier but he may have another anytime. We are very careful with his health." Sahar's eyes widened as she heard about the attack. Even though, Shahnawaz wasn't aware of her existence nor did Sahar come into his life but Sahar had love hidden deep down her heart for Shahnawaz. After all, he was her father. She remembers every story about him that Myza had told her. Myza never let her have a bad influence on him. Myza knew that Shahnawaz deserved to be loved as Sahar's father knowingly or unknowingly.

"Please forgive him for the sins he was thrown to. Taaya abbu was framed. He didn't know that Daadi Ammi was throwing stupid allegations towards your mother. I know it won't make any change but I apologise on behalf of my family. Please forgive my Taaya abbu. He is my world."

Sahar couldn't control but tears left her eyes and she wiped them as soon as they dropped in her cheeks. It wasn't unnoticed by Shahveer, he knew she loved Shahnawaz. Her eyes show the amount of love she has in her heart for Shahnawaz.

"I forgave him a long time ago. His wish was granted many years back."

She started wiping off the upcoming tears. "What's the second thing?" She asked.

"He wishes for you to live in our mansion. At least before you get married. Please Sahar, I request you. You will be given total privacy and we will off course respect your space." He requested. Sahar snapped towards him, in shock. She shook her head in negative.

"I am sorry! But are you in your senses, Mr Shahveer?" She questioned.

"Please consider it, Sahar. I promise no one will invade your privacy. You will be treated as equal as my sister Meesha is. You will be respected more. Please consider it for my Taaya abbu. Your beloved father who is sick."

"I can't, Mr Shahveer," Sahar stated.

"Regret is the most painfull emotion. Make sure you don't get occupied by it."

He started looking deep into her eyes. He continued,

"Consider it Sahar. I will wait for 3 days. Call me if you change your decision. I'll come to pick you up."

"Tum Pagal ho gayi ho? You will not go there, Sahar!" Izhaan yelled.

(Are you mad?)

"I have no choice, Izhaan. My father might die soon. I don't want to regret things after." She stated.

"You are going. I mean what the hell is wrong with you?" Izhaan sat on the couch. His nose flared in anger.

"Let her go, Izhaan. She should go," Hashir said sipping his evening tea, looking at the sun lurching in the horizon of orange hues.

"Yes, she should." Shaista simply said. They had to accept the sad truth. Anam and Izhaan couldn't believe their ears.

"It was you guys who despised them but now. Do you want to go to them? Do I have no say in your decisions?" Izhaan questioned standing up. Sahar stood up and looked at him. "You have it Izhaan. But please try to understand me. I will come back. It's not like I am going to settle there. You are forgetting the fact that my family means everything to me."

"No, I am not forgetting about it. That is what scares me the most. Your family means everything to you. If hearts get connected with others, goodbyes will make it bitter. Who knows? To escape that bitter experience your paternal family might stop you from bidding them goodbye." Izhaan gazed at her. She tried to answer him but couldn't as he walked towards the hall without listening to her.

"Izhaan?"

"Please listen to me. I will come back for sure."

"Izhaan?"

"Sahar?" Hashir called her. "Don't think about him. He will be fine. I will talk to him. Pack your bags and call Shahveer."

Sahar stared down at her hands, embarrassed at the way Izhaan fought with her in front of their family.

"If Myza was alive, she would have sent you to him. That is what made me send you to him. After all, he is your father and he didn't even know the existence of his daughter. He should at least spend time with his daughter," Shaista sipped her tea, looking at Sahar. Sahar nodded and stared at her phone, mentally making a note to call Shahveer.
