In the last class, I was in Cassandra was staring at me. I Heard, I think his name was Cyclops, mumble things such as "what has y/n done to Cassandra." And " what is wrong with her today?" Once the bell rang I grabbed my stuff and remembered that I had to meet Cassandra somewhere. I walked outside and saw Cassandra hanging out with 2 others. I waved to her and she walked towards me. Without saying a word she grabbed my wrist and dragged me over to her friends.
"Y/n, this is Alucard and Cyclops." Cassandra said still grasping my wrist.
"Just call me Cyril." Cyclops added.
"No one's gonna call you that, dumb fuck." Cassandra mumbled.
"We hear Cassandra has a cr-" Alucard started but Cassandra flashed a knife from her pocket.
"Shit, sorry -" he responds.
"Would you want to hang out at the park with us?" Cassandra asked unsurely.
"Uhm- yea! Sure." I said. "Let me text my mom." Cassandra still held my wrist and she wouldn't let go so I just sent it with 1 hand. When we got to the park Cassandra let go of my wrist. She went to a tree and stood there. The other 2 went to another tree next to her. She made a gesture with her hand for me to come over. I went up to her and she leaned on the tree.
"Do you smoke?" She said taking out a lighter and a cigarette.
"No."
"Oh, you should try it." She said and lighted it. It was silent. Her glowing eyes stared into my soul. It was awkwardly silent. I didn't know what to say or do. I looked up at her for a second, she was blushing. We stood around for about 10 minutes, Cassandra talking with the others.

"Uhm- I gotta go home soon." I finally said.
"You don't have to. I mean you could still stay, right? " She said.
"I guess but, I have to go soon." I mumbled. Cassandra nodded. I saw Pico from the corner of my eye.
"Hey, it's pico!" I shouted. I looked back at Cassandra and she gave me a Disgusted glance. She grabbed my wrist so I couldn't walk away.
"What was that for?" I said trying to get out of her grip.
"Stay here." She almost yelled. She looked Furious.
"Okay-" I said and made eye contact with Pico. He started walking over. Cassandra was now holding my hand instead of my wrist. I blushed and looked away. Pico got close to us.
" Don't you dare come closer." Cassandra said pulling the knife out of her pocket. Pico started slowly walking away. Cassandra was laughing. Pico quickly turned around and pointed a gun at Cassandra.
"Oh, shit-. " Cassandra mumbled and let go of me.
"That's what I thought." Pico laughed.
"Pico, it's okay she wasn't doing anything to me." I said.
"Eh, I doubt that. She was probably gonna kill you or some crap." Pico stared at Cassandra. Cassandra shook her head and walked towards Alucard.
"I gotta head home now." I told Pico and started running off.

Tsk, Pico is way too overprotective for his own good. I watched y/n walk away. I texted Hanzou to follow them and get their address. It's not stalking? I just need to know where they live that's all. Alucard was floating an Apple in the air. I hate apples. He knows this and yet he stared at me well doing this. I tried throwing a punch at him but he dodged it.

"Do that again and ill fucking kill you!" I threatened.
"Ha, bet!" Alucard laughed. I pulled out the knife in my pocket again and lunged at him, cutting his arm slightly.
"Don't test me." I hissed. He was holding his arm. Cyclops slowly backed away and ran off somewhere.
"Sorry-.'' He said and took a step back. " You need to calm down your outbursts are getting worse." I realized what he was talking about and started taking slow breaths to calm down. "One of these days your gonna go full psyco and lose your whole mind to that thing." He shook his head.
"It's getting late I'm gonna head home." I said and started walking off but, I didn't go home. Hanzou just sent me y/n's address and I wanted to check out their house. I was walking up the street and heard footsteps. I put my hand in my pocket and held the knife that still had blood on it. Once I turned the corner I saw that little bastard named Nene walk past me. I kept walking. Nene kept looking back at me until she turned and walked into a house. She was watching me through her window. Hanzou was sitting on the curve across from y/n's house so, I waved to him. He started walking over and we hopped up on the brick wall around Nene and y/n's house.
"I don't know why we're doing this?" He said.
"Because I told you to!" I whispered causing him to whisper.
"Yea, yea." He growled. I looked around y/n's backyard and saw them come out. Hanzou and I hid backed off to the side of the house. I watched y/n sit down and read a book.
"Why are you so interested in this person?" He whispered.
"I'm not, now shut up" I shrieked at him. That caused y/n to look up. Luckily they didn't notice us and we jumped down. Hanzou walked away and I started walking away. I went home.

Riposte
Noël is known across the city of Portland—and not by choice. Under the care of the richest man in the city and just transferred to a new high school, she's already making close friends... and bitter enemies. A chance encounter on her first day plunges her headfirst into a secret underground tournament. Between suspicious classmates and utter strangers, Noël soon gets a taste for the addictive rush of the duel, but questions of love and trust complicate every move she makes. Cutthroat games with grim consequences await her in a shadowy world of competitors all dueling for the greatest prize imaginable. A new story from Etzoli, that one butterfly who writes things. This is a side-adventure I've written during the pandemic, as I've been having a lot of trouble getting into the correct head-space for writing my main series (The Last Science). Expect some rougher bits. Schedule is sporadic, but this will be a shorter one (closer to Snipe or Epilogue in length). I hope you enjoy it! Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Fallen
Hundreds of years ago, the servant god Elsyn declared that they would destroy humanity entirely, explaining it as their duty as humanity’s peacekeeper. When the gods saw it fit to send someone to oppose the fallen servant, Iztris—the gods’ own servant and follower—visits Cheryn. Iztris requests the aid of Alyson and Jacob, the oldest two heirs of Cheryn and the only ones given the gods’ offer of the ‘assurance of victory,’ and the heirs agree. There will come a time when humanity does fall—but none of them would allow that to happen by the hands of a being just as flawed as mortals. I recommend reading the story by volume, instead of by the order the chapters were posted. This story was beta read by Mad Sadie. Many thanks! Please note that some characters use different pronouns depending on the chapter’s view and the speaker. Iztris, for example, is referred to with neutral pronouns by Elsyn (in most cases) and themself, and after being introduced as such they are referred to with male pronouns by Alyson and Jacob.

Return to Yesterday
This is a story about trust. A story about a girl with many names, none of which were hers, and a single second that wasn't really a second at all. It's a story about a friendship that shouldn't have been trusted but was, and a friendship that should have been trusted but wasn't. And most of all, this is a story of warning. Of a path that was taken when no other was seen, through a forest that can grow in an instant and may never fully be cleared. No two paths are the same. Nor are any two forests. But this is Io's path. And this is where it goes. (Also published on Quotev)
