When I woke up in the morning, I felt well rested for the first time in days. It's only been five days since school started and this whole shebang happened. It already feels like months. I'm usually mentally exhausted but today I feel as if I'm ready to go to school and get stuff done.

Like that Art project that's due Monday. Even though Via and I got an extension till Thursday, we want to give it in on Monday. Besides I heard from some students that they overheard her giving us another project on Monday.

That's all she does. Give us projects. She doesn't teach and only gives us meaningless assignments to finish in little time. I really don't like her. Could she please quit? It would do her and us a favor. I'm sure even the administrators and principal are tired of hearing students complain about her.

When they do, she tries to justify it making the administrators and principal back down. Ugh! I hate that she does that. All she does is give us heart problems.

I stretch then I get dressed for the day. Today, I decide that I'm going to wear a dress. It's been a while since I wore one. I usually wear pants and an oversized shirt but today I'm going to wear a dress. Hopefully I don't regret it. Besides it's the perfect weather. Not to much breeze, not too hot. It's perfect.

The dress is light green with slightly puffy sleeves. Like the ones you'd see a princess wearing. I've always been obsessed with the dresses that princesses wore. Like ballgowns and others like that. It's perfect.

The dress reaches me just below my knees. It snatches me at my waist, showing my slight curves. I pair the dress with cute sneakers. They have flowers and other cute decorations on it. It goes perfectly with the dress. I check myself out in the mirror.

Alright, I look nice. Let's hope the weather doesn't change to being breezy.

I take up my book-bag then I run downstairs to quickly get my breakfast before the Prince arrives to pick me up.

"Sweetie." My mom calls me and I look at her. Both her and dad are dressed in their formal wear and they're drinking tea.

"Yes, mommy?" I answer her.

"Don't you think it's time for you to start learning how to drive?" She asks me and I pause.

The knife in my hand hovers over the bagel. Driving? Have my parents never met the psychos on the road? I'm not really ready to die yet.

"Umm, I don't think so." I say, continuing to add the cream cheese on my bagel.

"No? What about when you get a job, dear?" She asks me and a ball forms in my throat.

A job? That sounds like it sucks.

Many of my classmates at school have jobs. I'm not gonna lie, it does sound fun to get your own money. Being able to pay for stuff on your own sounds nice and all, I'm just not sure if I'm ready.

As I'm deep in my thoughts about growing up and becoming an adult, a car honks and I immediately know who it is.

He's early.

I go to the door and I open it. The Prince stands there with his hand up, as if he was about to knock on the door.

He looks at me and he places his hands in his pockets. His eyes drift down my body. He analyzes my dress and even my shoes then he comes back up to my face. He looks at my makeup.

I didn't really put a lot. I literally only applied eyeliner and brushed up my eyelashes with some coconut oil. I don't really need to apply mascara, I like my lashes the way they are. They're not long but I still love them.

Did I do my makeup properly? Do I look nice?

He creases his eyebrows, frowning, "Are you ready?" He asks me and I nod.

"Yeah, I'm just about to eat breakfast." I tell him then he nods.

"Oh come in!" I realize that I'm making him stay outside. I go to the side and he walks inside then I close the door behind us.

If he wanted to come in why didn't he just say that? I'm sure he could've moved me. I don't weigh that much.

We walk into the kitchen and my parents look up at him. They get up off the chairs then they bow before him. His expression doesn't change. My parents go back to drinking their tea.

"Are you ready to leave now?" He asks me and I look at my unfinished bagel.

"Not yet, I want to finish eating. School doesn't begin until 8:00." I look at the clock, it's now 7:43. I have some time left.

The Prince nods then he sits on the stool, beside mine. He takes his phone out of his back pocket and he opens it. As I eat my bagel, I look at him to see him on his phone swiping away.

Honestly, I didn't really take him for a guy who'd be on his phone. He seems more old aged. Like he'd rather go out and enjoy the world rather than being stuck on a phone.

Actually, I doubt he enjoys anything. He's always moody and broody. I've never seen him smile. In my sixteen years of life, I've never seen this man smile. Does he even like being alive?

Without looking at me he says, "Are you always this inquisitive?"

My eyebrows shoot up and my eyes widen. "What? Could you stop going in my head?" I ask him, embarrassed.

My thoughts are everything that are purely me, him inviting himself in, is rude and disrespectful to me.

"I wouldn't have to do that if you just spoke your mind like everyone else." He retorts back. I look at my parents and they are ignoring us. They're faces are buried into their phones.

I decide to let the conversation slide.

"Whatever." I respond with and he looks at me with his eyebrows creased.

Why does he keep looking at me like that? Is there something wrong with what I said or how I look?

I decide to break whatever uncomfort was lingering in the air. "Are you hungry? You could eat something if you want." I propose.

The Prince looks at me with bright confused eyes. "I don't eat the type of food you do." He responds.

I smack myself in the head internally. Right! He's a vampire. I don't know why I forgot that important piece of information. He only drinks blood. Wait, only blood. Nothing else? So he can't eat human food or he won't because it does nothing for him?

I look at him but he doesn't answer my question. I know that he was reading my mind because he has that look on his face when he reads my mind.

"I know that you heard what I said. Could you answer it?" I ask him and he tears his eyes from his phone.

"I thought you didn't want me to read your mind anymore?" He asks me cooly, and I blush.

"Well, I know that you did anyway." I retort and he puts down his phone, sighing.

"I can consume foods that humans eat. I just don't because it does nothing for me. Except for spaghetti, that does taste good. Anything else tastes completely bland." He answers and I nod.

Surprise fills me at the spaghetti part. It fills me with happiness. "Do all vampires like spaghetti or just you?" I ask, practically jumping in my seat with excitement. He has no idea what he's done by talking about spaghetti.

"Just me. It differs for everyone, it's based off of—" He stops talking.

"Based off what?" I ask him, hoping to get more answers. When I think about it, I don't really know a lot about vampires. It would be great to know more.

"Nothing. Why are you asking?"

"Spaghetti is my favorite meal. We could get it sometime, I love it so much, it's the one food I'm always up for." I say with a huge smile on my face.

He creases his eyebrows and looks at me as if he's trying to calculate me. "What?" I ask him but he turns away from me, not answering my question.

"We should leave now. The drive to school takes almost twenty minutes. It's now 7:49." He tells me and he gets up. I take my dish and I put it in the sink then I run to the bathroom, brushing my teeth. Two minutes later, I walk out and I take my book-bag.

"Bye mom, bye dad." I bid them bye and they wave us bye. I close the door behind me and the Prince and I get into the car. We put on our seatbelts then he drives off.

"We're going to be late." He tells me and I look at him confused.

"We? Are you coming with me?" I ask him.

He chuckles a little. Oh my gosh, like a real chuckle. Not a fake one. He chuckled. This is amazing. He laughed.

"No, I have a meeting to get to. One with your parents. We're not discussing you nor my scandals, thank God. It's going to be about opening a possible vampire school." He tells me and it peaks my interest.

"A vampire school? Why? What's wrong with the law that passed ten years ago? The one saying that vampires and humans can go to school together?" I ask him.

"That still upholds but too many humans have unenrolled from school and the vampires that go there feel like they don't belong and they feel judged. The suicide and depression hotline have gotten over a thousand calls from vampires saying that they don't feel comfortable going to school with humans." He tells me and my eyebrows shoot up to the roof.

"Oh my gosh! I had no idea. A vampire school would help them." I tell him and he nods.

We stay in silence for the rest of the car ride. At 8:12, he parks and I get out.

He gets out of the car and hands me my bag that I had placed in the back seat.

I take it from him, "Thank you." I put it on. As I'm about to turn around, his eyes roam my outfit once more.

"What?" I laugh a little, trying to erradicate the uncomfort I feel right now.

"Nothing, I just like your dress. It looks pretty on you." He compliments me.

Blood rushes to my cheeks and I blush, I hold my head down. I don't want him to see me. It'll be weird.

I look up at him with a smile on my face, "Thanks, but look," I put my hands in the pockets, "It has pockets!" I squeal and he cracks a smile, like a good, genuinely amused smile.

"I see." The smile stays on his face and it also stays on mine.
