31 December 2022. Time has been going pretty fast since the incident with Tom and the rest, around October and November. Things started to settle in Gotham, but there was still a lot of work. I have been hiding in the shadows the entire month, getting rid of what I could get rid of. On the other hand, I still work with James Gordon; he makes sure to light the signal up if something important needs to be done or bring fear into people's hearts.
Daisy, on the other hand, moved into the manor. Alfred bonded well with her, and she became part of our life. However, I could tell it bothers her when I'm gone for hours, yet she wouldn't say anything about it. Daisy is worried if I'll come back alive or not. Alfred already adapted to my consequences a long time ago, but it didn't make it better.
Now that New Year is in the corner, anything could happen. The city doesn't stop; it just simply continues.
I open my eyelids from feeling the sun shining through me, groaning from irritation. I still have a problem with letting the curtains off when I wake up, but Daisy insisted I needed a little brightness in my room. I turned around and threw my hand on the other side of the bed, but I couldn't see Daisy. Her tiny footsteps appear from the doorway with a smile on her face. Her hair is a little messy as she wears a long t-shirt, more than likely, it's mine.
"Good morning." She said softly, and I couldn't help but smile at her beauty.
"How did you sleep?" I asked, arching myself back up.
"Good." She said softly, inching closer to me.
Daisy decides to sit on me with both of her legs crossing mine, and I instantly wrap my arms around her tiny form, squeezing her closer. Her eyes trail down to mine as I rest my chin against her the middle of her chest.
"I'm glad to hear that." I rasp.
She didn't say much but folded her hand through my hair, gently stroking it. "Are you hungry?"
"For you?" I said jokingly, but she slapped my shoulder. I chuckle at her reaction, kissing her cheek gently.
"You are something else." She said, rolling her eyes at me. But I simply arch my eyebrow and lean backward, resting my arms behind me on the bed.
"You are simply just scared."
"I'm not scared of sex." She scoffs, but I could tell her nervousness, which made me smile a little.
"I think you are."
"You probably a softy."
"A what now?" I said, squeezing my eyes at her until she let out a small laugh.
"Someone who fucks gently, or in other words, doesn't know what they are doing." She grins before trailing her hand through my hair again.
"I love the commitment you have to doubt my skills."
"Sex isn't a skill." She protests, but I simply scoff at her.
"You want to test that theory?" I rasp. Daisy immediately raises herself from sitting on my lap, awkwardly scratching the back of her neck.
"Breakfast sounds lovely right now." She said with nervousness in her tone until she sped off from the room. I laugh a little.
Daisy and I haven't had sex. It's not something I'm worried or thinking about, but I notice the small comments she would say at times. Sometimes I feel like she wants me to take control and simply do it, and then other times, she must be joking. The thing is, I do know how to take control over everything, but I can get a little possessive at times, and Daisy is fragile to me. I don't want to cross that line if she is not ready yet. I am not dating her for the injunction of pleasure; I can control myself very well. I'm dating her because I never felt like this before. I never thought I could fall in love or manage to be in love.

I immediately get up from my bed and take a quick shower before changing my clothes to a black hoodie and matching black sweatpants. I didn't bother to dry my hair; I instead let it parch itself. I grab my sunglasses to prevent them from shining through my eyes.
I walk downstairs and through the hallway to the main entrance, knowing Alfred is probably at the office and Daisy in the kitchen.
To my surprise, Daisy and Alfred aren't doing their own thing; they are helping each other to decorate the manor for the New Years' event.
I narrow my eyebrows as I step further inside the entrance, digging my hands in each pocket. "What's going on?" I asked with a raspy voice.
Daisy looks at me as she holds a couple of gold stars to hang on beside the glass window frame.
"It's going to be New Year tonight, and we might as well prepare the place. I'll be bringing Katherine and Makayla over here." She said with a soft voice.
I scoff a little and shake my head slightly. "I'm not sure if it's a good idea."
"Why not?" She arches an eyebrow, meanwhile placing one of her hands on the side of her hip.
"I don't celebrate New Year or any holidays."
"You will now." She smiled softly and went back to decorate.
It made me chuckle a little because she truly is changing my perspective of life. It wasn't a problem to celebrate New Year, at least not anymore. I never thought about celebrating anything, and despite Alfred living here, he never bothered to celebrate it with me either. Every Now and then, he'll pop a glass of champagne, and we would watch over the city from the window.
Alfred leaves the box of decorations beside Daisy as he trails his eyes toward me. "Big surprise."
I laugh at his comment and lean back in the doorway, folding my arms.
"Come on, guys, we got stuff to do!" Daisy orders as she claps her hands. "Chop-chop!"
Alfred grabs onto his stock and picks a few accessories. "You're worse than me." He said jokingly, which Daisy gasped before they laughed at each other. I couldn't help but laugh along as I grabbed a few stuff from the box.
Alfred invited James Gordon for New Year, which surprised me because we didn't talk as much, not as Bruce Wayne. Except when it depends on the city itself or whenever he gets the opportunity to thank me for my father's contribution to the town. I didn't ask Alfred to invite him, but he thought it would be a good idea.
Time has passed on to ten o'clock. Daisy insists I wear something more suitable for the event since everyone will be dressed pretty well tonight, and so I did. I grab a dark-blue blouse and black suit pants to blend in the dark colors together. I hold my silver platinum watch to look more pre-parable than usual.
Everything changed so fast. I wouldn't care as much for my outfit, only because I barely went out and I stayed away from people as much as possible. Things did change, but for the better. I would get my hair cut trimmed every once in two weeks and buy a couple of suits for different events. It's evident that I started to live in my father's legacy now, but not to be presentable because I still choose my privacy. It's more about living up to my father, who wasn't only a great man and inspired Gotham. I have lived in the shadow for too long, and I can only thank Daisy for bringing me to the light.

I walk downstairs as I button my wrist from the blouse. Meanwhile, my eyes trail off to Daisy standing in front of the door. I narrow my eyebrows for a second until I figure out why she's standing there, making me instantly chuckle.
"You excited, I assume?" I said, standing on the last couple of stairs. She tilts her head towards me and nods slightly with a smile, but her eyes trail off to my figure until it reaches back up.
"You look amazing."
I smile a little and watch her figure as well. Daisy changed to a couple of cowboy jeans, black boots with heels on the bottom, and a tight black shirt, showing her lines underneath her bra. Her golden hoop earrings and, of course, her beautiful ponytail. I could tell she was wearing makeup, but not enough not to recognize her. She still looks like herself.
"I think it's the opposite, Daisy. You look amazing." I mutter till I inches closer to her, sliding my hand around her tiny waist as I stand beside her.
Her smile grows more as she looks at me.
"You truly are making me happy." Her soft-spoken voice fills the gap between us before resting her head on my arm. She couldn't reach my shoulder, only because she's tinier than she looks.
My heartfelt more in peace whenever she would say things like that. For example, that day she said she was falling in love with me, it did something to me. It's still hard to explain it, but I know exactly how I feel when I'm around her.
"Believe me," I said, pushing her waist closer to mine. "You're the one making me happy."
She smiles and lifts her head to look into my eyes until the knocking sounds appear loudly. Daisy quickly tilts her head towards the door and opens it with an immediate reaction. Katherine is completely caught off guard as Makayla stands beside her. I couldn't help myself but chuckle at their response.
"Okay, Jesus, you really want to see us today," Katherine says playfully as her smile grows, with Makayla in the background.
Daisy instantly hugs Katherine and thanks to her for coming by, till she hugs Makayla next.
Katherine trails her eyes towards me, squeezing her eyes a little. "I'm watching you, you know?"
"I'm the sneakier one, Katherine, don't understatement me," I said playfully till I reached in for a hug, and so did she.
"That's what all men say." She said playfully till she rolled her eyes and walked inside.
Makayla thanks Daisy for the invitation as she gently hugs me on the side. "And it's so nice to see you, Mr. Wayne!"
I nod and shut the door as she walks in. "We do see each other every week for the cleaning."
Makayla laughs a little and takes off her coat, handing it to Daisy. "Well, I'm a good cleaner. Can you blame me?"
"Not at all," I said with a soft smile. "But I insist you work with Daisy at her new job. I heard it's more than amazing to work there." Daisy instantly looks at me and slaps my arm gently, and I end up chuckling.
We already had this discussion. Daisy isn't stupid, like I said before. She notices things and lets me know her opinion on them. After all, I did stop by her office seven times in a row, which made it very evident at this point. But the thing is with Daisy; she also has her own suspicions. She already felt that James liked her, and I didn't have to worry about it anymore after she blatantly told him that she was 'married to me.' Every time I reminisce about the story, I laugh, only because it reminded me of the past when I lied to Tom about our 'marriage.' Knowing the old version of me wouldn't care for any of this, and perhaps not even protect her. I strictly only saved her from him for a couple of months until I met her again, and I caught myself catching feelings.
Everyone walks to the main entrance through the hallway as Alfred greets them. They all instantly collapse with Alfred, and I could tell he is having fun for once. I didn't bother to interrupt. I stood there at the doorframe, watching how it all went down. Alfred fills up their glasses with champagne, but Katherine insists on helping him with bringing the food to the table. It felt like a family gathering, yet it was not. On the other hand, Daisy is sitting on the couch and discussing everything with Makayla since she did miss a lot of things.
The knocking on the door caught my attention, which made Daisy quickly trail her eyes to me, and I insisted on opening the door myself, but I could tell she didn't like it one bit.
After that, the unknown individual tried to shoot me at my own house, which created new anxiety for Daisy. Just as much as I wanted to protect her, so did she want to protect me.
I open the door to see James Gordon standing with his wife beside him. I greet them and shut the door behind them, grabbing their coats.
"I must say, I'm surprised I'm invited." He chuckles a little, which I did as well.
"You are, after all, a good cop," I reply, clapping his shoulder for a second till I greet his wife.
"It is such a blessing to meet you, Mr. Wayne." She holds my hands with amusement.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Gordon," I said with a soft-spoken voice.
"Oh, please," she laughs a little before throwing her hand in the air. "Call me Amare."
I chuckle as I nod my head. "Amare, it is."
The conversation continues between James and me as we walk into the main entrance, but the conversation leads to the investigation of Tom Crawford and the rest of the D.A.
Daisy decides to interrupt for a second and greet James and his wife until she proceeds to talk to Makayla and Amare, and Alfred leaves the speaker for Daisy. She plays;
I could tell Daisy loves to take photos since she takes a couple of pictures with each other. Daisy took a photo with a camera. I was highly distracted talking to Alfred, Katherine, and James. It didn't bother me one bit; instead, I looked at Daisy with a smile as I planted a kiss on her forehead till she drifted off to Makayla and Amare.
"She's changing you, huh?" James rasps before taking a sip from the champagne.
I smiled a little as I flicked my tongue inside my mouth. "You could say that."
"She is changing Mr. Wayne very drastically." Alfred breaks in with a slight chuckle.
James places his hand on my shoulder. "You know what they say. A good woman leaves a good impression."
And that's when it hit me. He wasn't wrong. That's exactly why things are changing so quickly; Daisy truly is a good woman.
I folded one of my hands in my pocket as my other ones held onto the glass of champagne. I couldn't help myself but look at Daisy for a second.
She's gorgeous. Her angelic voice filled the spaces between her and me, and I would be lying if I said I could live without hearing her voice. Whether I like it or not, Daisy is a part of me, and she helps me be better than a man.
God, I fucking love her.
Time went on as we all sat at the dinner table, letting James have the conversation. Meanwhile, Alfred decided to serve the table, but I went on my way to help along.
"The investigation is still going. Unfortunately for us, there isn't any news. I heard Gil will be bringing his lawyer to defend him in court, but the evidence is everywhere, thanks to Tom's odd apartment." James chuckles, but everyone is too focused on the information they just received from finding it funny.
"But," James says, taking a small sip from his champagne till he points at me with his index finger. "we still have no clue why he wanted to ruin your father's legacy."
I look at Alfred and Daisy for a second till she shrugs. Daisy looks back at James as she folds her arms.
"Any news about Tom?" She asked quietly. James looks at her for a second and takes a deep breath.
"Not yet. He'll be in trial in two weeks."
Daisy nods a little. I inch closer to the chair beside her and sit with her. Katherine leans in and starts asking James about his job.
I look at Daisy and grab her hand underneath the table, squeezing it gently. "Are you doing alright?"
She looks at me for a second, and a small smile appears on her lips. "Yeah."
"Let me know if it gets uncomfortable," I mutter quietly, and she nods before planting a kiss on my cheek.
We all ate and discussed Gotham, my father's legacy, and other essential things; until the conversation led to me.
Daisy points at me and looks at James with a sudden movement. "Oh, believe me, he is hard to handle!"
James burst out in laughter, along with the rest of everyone. I simply laugh a little and shake my head.
"She isn't lying," I said, making them laugh even more.
"What's so difficult about him?" James asks, wiping the napkin on his bottom lip.
"He can be hard to handle when it comes to his emotions, and sometimes he has to deal with my crazy self. " she pouts playfully, which causes me to laugh even more.
Alfred laughs along and nods his head. "Mr. Wayne is quiet for his nature compared to his father."
"If I recall," James says, throwing his hand. "Your father would be in every event. How come you don't?"
"I don't like having too much company," I reply truthfully, making James nod his head.
"I hate being surrounded by people, so I understand." He agrees.
Katherine protested for a second. "Let's not be a liar now, Mr. Wayne. You were at the club one time." It made us all laugh for a second.
Time went on to 11:30 pm, and all the guests decided to leave. They wanted to celebrate the last couple of minutes with their loved ones, including James and his wife. Katherine and Makayla, on the other hand, head to the club, although I didn't think it was a great idea. It does get wild when it's almost close to New Year.
I shut the door and watched Daisy walk upstairs, but I didn't hesitate to follow along.
She opens the door to the main bedroom, and she groans a little. "Today was something, but gosh, my feet hurt."
I shut the door behind me slowly and inches closer to the bed. "Perhaps heels weren't the greatest idea for today."
She smiles at me until she leans against the wall, removing her heels. "You're not wrong at all."
I chuckle a little and unbutton my blouse. The city lit up with lights and neon red from the club itself, which made a reflection through the glass window inside the bedroom. I remove the blouse, throwing it on top of the armchair till my eyes trail to Daisy. Before unbuttons her pants, she already manages to take off her shirt, revealing her black bra.
"Let me do it," I spoke softly before inching closer to her. Her eyes instantly glanced at me when I came close, gently grabbing onto the side of her pants.
Daisy's eyes didn't leave mine, but I was occupied with getting them off, so my eyes were focusing on the pants as I kneeled to remove her legs one by one before getting back up. That's when I notice she is staring at me, but not in an uncomfortable way.
Her cold hands gently placed on my chest, stepping closer than before. I could feel her cold air brushing against my chest.
Daisy's skin is amber in the neon light. The red glow floods in the unguarded window, yet we're pretty safe from prying eyes without a light on in here. Her hand alights on my face, moving down past my collar bone. I gently brush the pat of my thumb against her plump lips, feeling both combined into lust and passion. The light plants onto her petite figure, her soft smile and the deep blushing on her face.
