The sound of knocking made it near impossible not to notice. I press my knees against the cold casement, resting my back on the wall as I'm sitting on the window seat. The pat of my fingers trails onto the foggy window, darting my eyes from each car driving by. The night deepens in each building that's visibly showing lights from every window. It's different, yet beautiful. but not worth admiring. This side of Gotham I have never seen before.

My tear-stain face is puffy and swallowing with grief, hardly bear to open my eyes wide open. I let the tears drop once more. They splash down onto my thighs in a rain-like pattern and soak into my white silky avenue pajama dress. My body sits in complete silence in the guest room, waiting for a hopeless miracle to happen.

Inside the nicely decorated guest room with taupe walls just the perfect hint of beige, lie nude colors of accessories around the white desk across a monstrous king-sized tempura-edict bed. The fluffy soft white color, quilt sits on top of the huge beige oak bed. The sheer white curtains cascade silently in the dim lethargic room. Plants hanging off the cathedral ceiling with vintage paintings, the lights shining through the golden chandelier as it stroke gently on the walls, and the beautiful floor made of white marbles. Not to mention, my own bathroom. It has a celebration with its milky gray and chrome, acoustically limestone tile, with the lavender in the vase it feels almost welcoming to the senses. In the middle of the bathroom is an aquatic trinity freestanding acrylic bathtub with high gloss, and a sink with porcelain handles against the wall.

One of Tom's housemaids opens the door and slowly shut it behind her. My eyes glance at her figure, revealing a soft smile to her; almost relieved it's her.

Her name is Susie, it got a nice ring to it. Her beautiful blue irises shine as bright as a sapphire; as well as her skin is gorgeous pale skin color but not too pale. Silvery curly hair falls onto delicate shoulders. A white housemaid uniform around her thick figure. However, she's a bit old around her sixties, but it doesn't take her beauty away.

She's been working for Tom for five months; however, not a big fan of him. Susie told me stories about her struggle in Gotham, and how hard it was to depend on one job. It made it difficult to provide food for her son, Carmine.

Susie is holding onto three bags, supposing it's the dresses. Once she reaches up to the bed, her arm let it drop onto the mattress, glancing at me with a soft smile. "Are you ready to pick your dress, Miss Daisy?

I shrug a little as I raise my body from the edge of the window, inching closer to her. Susie instantly opens the boxes, folding each dress out with three black silky boxes underneath; placing each of them beside the dresses. I trail my attention to the dresses, then back to Susie. She glances at me for a second before reaching up to my face with the pat of her thumb, gently rubbing the surface underneath my wet eyelids.

"It's a lot to process darling, but I know God will do everything under his power to protect you." Susie says softly with both of her eyebrows arching, cupping my cheek firmly.

It didn't change my emotions as much, but it warms my heart to have her around. If it wasn't for Susie, it would be difficult to survive in this mansion. I flash a weak smile till we proceed with the procedure.

Susie removes her hand and trails her eyes back and forth on the presentable dresses. She hovers over the dresses, firmly pressing both of her plans to smother the wrinkles before resting her index finger underneath the chin. "How about the green one? It'll look beautiful with your brown eyes." She says, pointing the same index finger to the green one. I nod with zero excitement, having no energy to debate which one would be suitable.

My hands grab onto the Satin fabric of the dark green ball gown; completely backless and sleeveless, as I throw it around my arm. Susie motions toward the bathroom, grabbing a hold of the doorknob before she pushes it backward. Her eyes trail off to mine with a soft smile. I exchange it back before walking in to dress up.

Both of my hands clenched on the edge of the sink, staring into my own reflection. My eyes are glued to my own reflection as I exhale through my nostrils. The feeling of my heart is pounding beneath my chest, trembling on the inside as I feel terrible pain hitting my stomach. A feeling of anxiety washes over me, the thought of getting engaged with Tom frightens me. Tears stung my eyes, but I manage to hold them back. A quick flash flushes through my mind; Bruce.

I shut my eyelids together, letting my mind fill with his voice. No visions, just his voice. The comfort he brings to my broken heart, the desire I need to be around him, and his protective strong arms. A calmness slowly flows through my body, increasing the feeling of hope.

"Miss Daisy, are you ready my love? We still need to finish up your makeup and your hair." The sound of Susie's voice mumbling through the door breaks the focus of my thoughts. I quickly shot my eyes open and glance towards the door.

"I'm ready," I say softly as I reach up to the door and grab firmly around the doorknob, slowly opening it. Susie stands in front of the door with both of her hands folded together with a friendly smile.

"Let's get you presentable, we still have the jewelry of emeralds you need to wear." " Susie says with her familiar soft-spoken voice before heading towards the main door.

I frown a bit, knowing it's time.

Susie comes back to my room, notifying me that the guest has arrived. I stand in the middle of the room, glancing at the window once more till I accept my fate, swallowing softly. I lift my head and glances at her, nodding slowly. Once my hand grips the side of my dress as I inch towards Susie; it hit me harder than before. I will belong to him, and only him.

Susie gently grabs my hand, taking the lead beside me as we trail off in the corridor, then the stairs. The feeling of anxiety kicks up once she left me in the second hallway.

"Alright my dear, I can't walk with you. You have to do this on your own." Susie says softly, raising her palms directing toward the big entrance.

My anxiety and concern grow with each step toward the main room. The sound of my heels repetition through the hell. The closer I am, the more I could see each person with elegant clothes, smiling widely at the main entrance door, waiting for me. Tom is already standing in the front with a huge grin of excitement. He held out his palm, expecting me to grab it; but I didn't. My thoughts take the best of me. However, Tom grabs my arm and twirls his hand into mine, inching closer to my ear as he blocks my view.

"Do I as I say, we agreed." His dark voice rumbles through my ear with goosebumps and I quickly bob my head backward, flashing him a weak smile. Tom's grin grows bigger, trailing his body beside mine and reaching toward the crowd with me.

Everyone is clapping with amusement, greeting each one of us as they congratulate Tom. My weak smile stays stuck with each person, thanking them for absolutely nothing. Most of them look familiar; despite the fact, that I have seen them in the iceberg lounge. They were all accompanied by their wives, I would assume so. One of the ladies starts talking to me about how 'lucky' i am to have found Tom Crawford, and in her words; "such a flawless man! You choose the right one for marriage, honey!"I frown a bit, knowing this is my destiny.

My eyes trail around the audience to the familiar faces of each man, until I notice someone is staring at me. Katherine, however, she's not alone.

Gil is holding onto her arm, nervously hiding behind her so as to not be recognized by the crowd. I squint my eyes at Katherine in confusion but kept my thoughts to myself.

Katherine's eyes are focusing on me, watching each of my movements with Tom beside me. She takes each step closer to us as Tom approaches the guests, though Gil releases his arm to blend into the crowd. I slowly try to hide behind each person that circles around him, motioning closer to her. Once I reach up to Katherine, she quickly wraps her arms around me, squeezing me in. If we weren't around hundreds of people, I would cry in joy by now.

"It's okay, it's okay," Katherine says with a reassurance voice, slowly brushing a piece of hair string behind my ear. "Take it easy, I know you are probably dying on the inside." I take a deep breath from trembling all over again, releasing the hug between us.

"How did you get in here?" I ask out of curiosity, and she chuckles a little. "Honestly I just had to flirt my way in. Gil is such a paranoid man, let me tell you. His wife won't like this." I chuckle weakly, nodding slowly.

Katherine squeezes my body against hers again but leans her head towards my ear. My head bobs backward from confusion, but the grip of her hand behind my head pushes me closer to the side of her cheek.

"Listen," she says as quiet as possible. "He's here. But not in the ballroom. I opened the back door for him so he's somewhere in this building." I quickly moved my head backward and glances at her with a sudden shock.

"Where?" I say instantly, but she presses her index finger against her lips, signaling me to be quiet. "Quiet. And I don't know, but I truly had to help him get dressed because it was depressing as it is," She rolls her eyes playfully. "And a haircut."

I narrow my eyebrows in confusion, darting my eyes in each corner to see his familiar eyes.

"Just trust us, if it wasn't for Bruce idea I don't think I would've been here," Katherine says quietly, clearing her throat for any attentiveness. I peek back at her, nodding slowly; but my thoughts are occupied, knowing he is here to get me. It brings a feeling of relief.

Katherine's expression turn cold as she looks behind me with her eyes turning dark. I quickly bob my head to the side, noticing the silhouette of Tom's figure. "I see you later Daisy, looks like the dog needs his owner." She hisses at him, but he simply scoffs as he grabs onto my arm, pulling me beside him.

"It's such a blessing meeting her whore friend," Tom rolls it out of his tongue with a smirk creeping up. "I would worry about yourself, Katherine. Mind your business."

I try to swallow the lump that insists on staying in my throat, feeling the same nervousness rushing through me. Katherine narrows her eyebrows at him till she walks away.

"Let's go," Tom says with his rusty voice, firmly gripping onto my hand instead, as he forcefully walks to the middle of the room.

Tom holds his hand in the air, grabbing the attention of the entire audience, as well as the butler serving champagne. He turns to me and smirks playfully, inching closer to my small figure. My body froze completely, fear raising through my bloodlines. Everyone is watching with joy glimpsing through their eyes, as well as the entire D.A community.

"I decided to live the rest of my life with my beautiful, little Daisy. I been knowing her for years almost and she's no doubt the most pure woman I've ever met. I couldn't let her slip away from me, not even a second." He says proudly, kneeling his one foot on the floor as his eyes trail up to mine. "That's why I'm presenting this day for her," Tom grabs a small black box from his pocket as he folds it open in front of me; a 14-carat diamond ring that's dipped in gold shines on each chandelier that is attached to the roof.

"Would you like to marry me?" Tom says joyfully. His smirk appears back onto his lips. It causes a few gasps from the crowd, waiting for my response.

I have no sense of my own body. All parts of my body ache in terror, my fingers flickering together with a panic overwhelming my thoughts. My eyes trail around the crowd, and back to Tom. The tears come without a warning as my lower lip trembles. My mouth slowly opens to respond back, but the sudden sound of a familiar voice approaches the situation.

"No."

Tom narrows his eyes in confusion, turning his attention to the audience before he slowly gets up. My eyes quickly dart around as the crowd gasps once more and start whispering back and forth. Everyone starts to split up in the middle of the room, as Bruce appears in the end with his hands in his pocket; He isn't wearing his signature style of clothes - dark and gloomy. His hair is long and spiky. It's clip cut short around the back and the sides, blending into the top which is jagged cut for maximum texture. His greyish suit is blending well with his black blouse underneath, as well as the black leathery loafers. Katherine didn't lie one bit, she did change his appearance.

The sudden rush of relief comes back to me, grabbing a hold of my dress with both of my hands. "Bruce!" I yell out in joy, a tear sliding down my cheek before I feel my strength brushing through my legs. I immediately run towards him and watches his facial soften to me. Our eyes are glued together, not resisting one another for a second.

I quickly sprung in front of him, wrapping each of my arms around his waist. Bruce quickly squeezes me in with his strong arms and places his chin on the top of my head. "You're coming home with me." He says quietly. A smile appears on my lips, sniffing from releasing the tears.

"She's definitely not coming home with you, Bruce Wayne." Tom says coldly. I turn my attention to him, continuously holding onto Bruce as I shake my head in denial.

"I'm not marrying you." I hiss out to him, breaking the hug between me and Bruce. Tom marches his way toward us, but Bruce pushes me behind him as he holds onto my hand.

"I don't think a marriage is possible if she's already married." Bruce spits out with hatred he has inside of him, shoving me up against his back. Everyone gasps in surprise, which made Tom stop his track immediately. My eyes trail up to the back of Bruce's neck, squinting my eyes in disbelief; I know it was a lie, but it shocked me.

"Bullshit." Tom hisses as his eyes darken.

Bruce slowly shakes his head. "Not even far from. But I wouldn't be worried about a wedding when you got a couple of skeletons in your closet that haven't been brought out yet."

Everyone looks at each other in confusion, continuing the whispers. I hold onto Bruce's hand tightly, as my eyes trail off to Katherine, walking past the audience with Alfred as they both hold onto empty huge plastic bags. It brings a different comfort inside of me knowing Alfred is here, but my curiosity takes the best of me.

Bruce tilts his head to the side and nods in my direction, which catches my attention immediately.

"Let's go. And don't look back, because it's going to be ugly." Bruce says quietly in his husky voice, trailing off towards the door with my hand embracing his.

Tom yells loudly in the ballroom, suddenly hearing a loud thud hit the floor. Everyone starts screaming vivaciously, which frightens me a bit. Bruce trails his eyes to mine, giving me a reassuring expression. "Don't look." He says quietly, reaching the end of the Mansion with me.

A silvery GMC Yukon is standing beside the sidewalk with the chauffeur holding the door to us. I glance inside the car, noticing Katherine and Alfred are sitting as well.

Bruce grabs the hold of the door as the chauffeur quickly speeds off on his side. I quickly glance at him with a soft smile till motion my body to my seat. He shuts the door and reaches the other end.

I quickly glance at Alfred sitting across from me with sudden relief planting onto my smile. Alfred grabs the hold of my hand, gently squeezing it. "I'm glad to have you back." He says with a soft voice with a friendly smile. Katherine copies his expression. I shot up my eyebrows as my lips trembled again.

"I'm happy to be back, truly," I say with a quiet voice, nodding slowly. My emotions are taking the best of me, however, I'm happy.

Bruce quickly sits beside me and shuts the door as the driver speeds away. His eyes dart to Alfred with a worrying expression. "Did it work?" Bruce immediately asks, and Alfred nods. "Unfortunately, yes." frowning a bit.

"What happened?" I glance back and forth at all of them.

Bruce clears his throat, shaking his head lightly. "Don't worry about it, it's best if you don't know." his voice darkens and it catches my attention immediately. I quickly peek at Katherine and she shakes her head as well. Alfred inclines his head, shrugging a bit.

My thoughts start traveling around, but I take a deep breath, nodding to all of them. I lean my upper body against the side of Bruce's, resting the side of my cheek against his shoulder. Bruce grabs onto my hand, stroking the pat of his thumb on my knuckles. A smile slowly forms my lips, shutting my eyes in peace.

I can finally be home again.
