Tony's POV

"Come on dude, you got this!" I mumbled to myself as I watched my best friend prepare to take on a wave.

He took a deep breath, then turned his head towards me. I held both of my thumbs up, then he smiled, turned back to the waves and swam to them on his surfboard. I nibbled on my small fingernails, hoping he wouldn't fall. I haven't seen him fall yet, but it could happen, happened to me plenty of times. A huge wave came his way, he sat up on his board... and waited. My eyes widened.

"What is he waiting for?" I thought worriedly to myself. "There is a huge wave in front of him!"

He put his hands and feet on the board, preparing to stand up and balanced himself as the wave washed up under his board. The wave fought to push him off of his board, but because of his strong legs, he was able to steady himself and glide through the wave.

He looked like he was losing his balance, but he wasn't.

Why was he so hot-- I mean amazingly talented?

I cheered him on as he was surfing the wave. The waves died down, and he was done.

"Dude! That was awesome! The way you rode that wave was sick!" I exclaimed towards Mark, giving him a high-five as he walked to the shore.

"I know right. The water was cool, breeze felt great, and everything went so smooth," Mark said a little out of breath but full of confidence. "You totally gotta try it!"

"What? No way! Besides, you would be a lot better than me."

In my eyes, Mark was better than me at everything. Surfing, making friends... He was even better looking than I was. He's gorgeous, from his short reddish-brown hair, masculine face, slightly muscular body, and even the sound of his voice. Yet he'll still hang out with an average person like me. Mark made a face, notifying that I've been staring at him for too long... again.

"Dude, why are you staring at me?" he asked me with an eyebrow raised. "You should be staring at these beautiful waves."

I followed his command and turned towards the ocean. He was right, these were some magnificent waves. The way the wind picked up the ocean and shaped them into a large, curved pattern was satisfying to watch. I stared at them in awe.

"Well," Mark interrupted my thoughts. "Are we gonna just stare at them? Or shred these killer waves?"

He was so damn cute! But after realizing how right he was, I grabbed my board, he grabbed his, and I ran to these amazing waves with this amazing guy, who was my best friend.

Mark's POV

Today was a great day to hang with Tony without any worries at all. Even though he is my best friend, I can't really hang out with him as much because of my other friends. They all hate him. I never understand why, I've known Tony for a while and never saw anything bad in him.

We met when we were in Kindergarten, and ever since then, we had always been so close. Then in 5th grade, we've found our love for surfing, and have been doing that since then. Tony tends to fall a lot when he surfed, but he does a great job at swimming, so it was all good.

While we both were riding this medium sized wave, Tony lost his balance and fell off the board. He was in front of me, and I tried not to laugh. I ended up laughing anyways and fell off with him. We both dove underwater a few feet, held in our breaths, then swam back up.

He coughed a little, then swam over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist to steady himself. He rested his head on my shoulder and laughed. I did the same thing.

We became unaware of our surrounds, just holding each other in the middle of the ocean and laughing at absolutely nothing. The both of us were warm, despite the cool air breezing through the ocean. It wasn't until our surfboards hit our back when we snapped back to reality. As we swam back to shore, the sand felt like fire against our bodies but it was soft like walking on a new mattress. I looked over my shoulder and saw Tony panting, bending over and holding his knees.

"Well, that was fun," I said, laughing it off.

"Yeah, sorry about that," Tony blushed as pink as cotton candy.

"It's fine, dude," I said lightly punching his arm, which made him blush some more in a darker shade of pink.

Just as this day was getting better by the minute, we heard the sound of people coming along. When I saw who those people were, I realized that they were my other friends. Tony stopped blushing. His lips parted slightly as he turned from my friends to me, eyebrows knit together, creating creases on his forehead.

"Come on dude, let's go," I said, beckoning him to walk with me in the other direction.

"Ok! Where are we going?" he asked peering over me to look at the road, his voice shaking ever so slightly.

"My house." I grabbed his wrist and directed him to my house.
